Dianne - I am SO relieved about Quill. It's so hard to let those pups go... and glad to know she is still fighting...

TOO funny about the geese... I always Think "canadian geese" and I do see flocks of geese fly but I don't think I've ever seen a wild turkey or beaver... THANK YOU Thea for the pic... it looks like it could be a greeting card, what a beautiful picture ! Can't imagine how huge they might be...

So I'll "Trade" ya'll... will have to come up ...grab Deb and visit our Canadian Friends... and you can show me the Canadian Wildlife! I'm sure I'll see some sights never to be seen before !
Then ya'll come down to visit me ... we'll head down to the French Quarter in New Orleans and I'll show you our wildlife ! Ditto on the sights LOL....

I can't remember what else I wanted to respond to because Betty got me all excited talking about heading to New Orleans because I know a Gal who lives about an hour north of there.... ROFLOL...

So I've started mapquesting all these ideas... what if I met Crissy half way ? (with package Betty in car)? Will my Tahoe make it? How would I arrange time to do that ? What? What?

Hubs is a good cook, I just hang out with him for the most part, I get to help a little, like peel potatoes, carrots....

Thea, I do both, plan quilts and buy for them, and I also just buy fabric because " I like it " I know I will use it....eventually :) I used to do a bit more impulse buying, but I don't make the same money I used to, and 1 less body here, contributing to household expenses, means I have less to "blow". I have to plan more, and I have to save awhile for shopping sprees, like cyber Monday !!!

Judy, that just sucks..been there. done that...sure hope you find it!!

Morning, gee whiz, not sure why I'm up this early but I am.. Looked outside, no white stuff but roads look icy, will have to leave a tad earlier.

Coffee is on, should make muffins but think I'll go put word sayings and paint, finish the workshop kits instead, hooe you don't mind! Ann reminded me last night that we're off to jewelry show tomorrow night at my DIL,so there will be no time to play then so best I get energetic.

the wind is howling and dark rain clouds all around, but only rain in the forecast no white stuff or ice.

Safe travels Betty...sure hope you have those winter tires on!! Thanks for the english version of those slippers, I read the intructions a few times and I think I "got" it on how to make them. Will be most likely after the holidays since I still have tons of other projects I want to finish.
Your planned trip sounds wonderful...question...who or what is in "Branson Missouri"?

Barb, Thunder and Laura have fun sewing all the projects and I sure hope you will post pictures once you are done!! Some days just doesn`t have enough hours in the day to complete all the things you want to do...or in my case it is "The mind is willing but the body is weak" lol

It feels so nice and toasty here with the new furnace...took them until 7pm to have it all done (11 hours).
This afternoon is my weekly crafters meeting and before that we are all going to a local church for their monthly fundraising luncheon. Always great food and good people to talk to...wish you could all come along!!

Betty Branson is Due north of Little Rock. New Orleans is almost due south of Little Rock. If you come straight through from New Orleans to Branson you will indeed drive right through Little Rock and right past my house. If you go to Memphis then Branson you will still have to drive 3 hours to get back to Little Rock, where you would have been in the first place, to go north to Branson. In my opinion, if I was going to go party I would just drive straight up and forget Memphis, Memphis is fun but once you do it, it's done, nothing ever changes.

Now, since I live 10 minutes from I-30 I think that you all should come over and I'll take you to Hot Springs, which was the first National Park built, and I WILL show you a much better time than you could EVER have in Memphis, I'm in Hot Springs almost every day and I KNOW what's there and I also know a lot of people there and we could party all night if you want to. Give yourselves 2 days though, you're going to need it.

Someone asked what Branson, Missourri is, it's the new Nashville for country and western music..also I've been there, not far is the most fabulous of caves, used during Civil War and also CluClux Clan (?) I fell in love with it!!!

Well, Aunt Muriel confirmed she will be coming with us..deep breath with she and mom both not feeling well but coming with me..Lord is sure to put a gold star on my report card for this one.

So, will work from home and leave at 3pm, just makes for fighting traffic in Toronto and longer line ups at the border. What can you do..

Time for lunch, I've been painting wood pieces since early morning, all 12 painted black. Tomorrow I'll bring in the crackle and get the crackle done and gold tones..after that here and there I can put the wording on..5 are mine and 7 are Suzanne's..she's so overwhelmed with work that I offered to help her out, perhaps she'll find time to at least do the working, if not, it will entertain me on quiet days.

Going downstairs in the mall shopping, roads are terrible so eating and staying in will suit my fancy! The Bike shop just called to say Jeff's saddlebags are in, should really brave the storm but I'm sure a few days sitting there won't hurt!

Noooo, Memphis is not the best route, that takes you about a day of driving out of your way. You ladies would absolutely LOVE Hot Springs, I'm not joking, you need to come over.

Well I'll put that into our agendy..it's a tentative trip just like the one when we all met you in Memphis Crissy..we like to plan well ahead soo will keep you updated!

Just booked the room in Niagara Falls, first thing mom says to me is , 'you want to go to Craft Show right?' I say yes, she says, 'you'll be doing it alone, you know I can't walk far' sooo told her there was a Casino attached to the building and all of a sudden she's fit and able to go..lol

OMG you having met my mom and Jim, you've managed to get her down pat!

Day is long today, guess my being up at 4am has helped it seem like an eternity..do feel I'm gaining ground though.
Tonight Greg will drop by, I've got to be at dealership by 7:30 tomorrow morning to leave my vehicle..tomorrow night have to be at DIL's, then Friday away again for the weekend..busy/busy!!

I will try tomorrow morning to add more panels to some of the quilts so I can bring them along..would give me something to do when in the room..know neither of them are well enough to be out shopping but I'll humour them!

I haven't had the best of days, I personally am OK...just frame of mind and dealing with doctors and lawyers. Discouraging!

Major glitch..finally heard aunt Muriel was coming with us, hotels are at a premium, so many coming over to Xmas shop, found a room, called for travel nsurance, always get moms, but, today my insurance agent said now that mom is 80 it's a different story, gave me a number for her to call..she'll have to get her own..she will not be happy!

Who knows, she might cancel out..the, I'd drive over and back home Saturday!

Yeah Betty, WILL she get her own is the question.

My day is dragging too Deb, we have a friend from Minneapolis here for two weeks and I'm going to go visit him and my friend Christy tonight at her work and I can't wait! Plus I'm wondering if he'll buy us pizza LOL!

Mary, that cough has been with you for quite some times, meds should have worked by now..maybe more tests should be scheduled. Niagara falls is 2 1/2 hrs from here. When I go to Buffalo I'm only miles away from the Falls. Sao you can kill two birds with one stone when visiting.

Wow ... I have some very fond memories of the Canadian falls. My Grandma took me there when I was 13. It was a beautiful sight!! I will never ever forget it!☺

I'm getting the rest of my box together and will mail out on Monday. Um, you can open it anytime you want to ...

I'm not much of a traveler so I'll live vicariously through everyone's stories. Guess you could call me a home body. LOL

Yes Betty - you are right... everyone around here is sick and tired of my cough but not as much as me.... Got Clarithromycin and prednisone today along with the inhalers she has given me. Hoping I dont' have a backlash from the *witch* at work tomorrow..... she had been definitely NOT sympathetic.....

Very windy here tonight. Stormy and the 2 cats are racing madly around screeching every time the wind gusts. That can stop anytime soon!

My own area of Ontario has lots of interesting things to visit but nothing like the Falls. When I was in my early teens I had a job for a few weeks working as a tour guide for Niagara Falls. Hated it - didn't stay but 3 weeks. Only job I have ever quit - once I got a job I stuck with it. Lordy I needed those spending $$$s the job gave me. Kingston, the closest city to where I live has the notarity(sp?) of having the most number of penal institutions per sq mi at all govt levels of any town/city in the world. That makes you feel real safe eh? When a con breaks out the area of choice for them to run to is my area. Lots of lakes, summer cottages and many winding back roads - great place to hide out or so the cons think. Have been house bound more than once when a con has been tracked to somewhere near us. One time a few years ago the township road was blocked off at Hwy# 38 so noone could drive down the road. Initially the OPP were not telling people why the road was blocked. I was having a bird as the con was holed up in a cottage less than 1/2 mi from the house. Plus DH was driving back home from TO and would be caught up in the road block. He won't carry a cell phone so I couldn't call him or he I. I was ready for the escapee though - locked and loaded!!Several shots were fired by both the OPP and the excaped con before he was captured.

My sweet girl Quill is not doing well at all tonight but it not is seizure mode. She is just plain right out of it - almost comatose. She did wake herself up enough to eat some dinner tonight though.

Betty you drive safely tomorrow! Don't put yourself into danger just to appease your mam. We want you around for a long time Betty!

Laura, thanks for the coffee, and how close to finishing are you? Reminder, if it's Christmas quilts make sure you've plenty of fabric to do your project! I started in Feb/march and had to stop because of a lack of fabric, thus, still working on them now. Hope you post photo's Laura.

Dianne, was it from being home sick that made you quit? Couldn't think of a more beautiful place to work! Poor Quill, did you meet with your vet and what was the outcome?no wonder you are up and cannot sleep.

We have the big super jail here, think I drove by when Crissy and Norm/Barb were here to show them..more of a resort than a jail..Olympic swimming pool, built on Georgian Bay, the best of work rooms etc., they live far better inside than we do on the outside.

You do live in a wonderful area, spent a few days at a conference there years ago, you also live in God's country.

Well, have to leave at 6:30'in order to have the car at the dealership for 7:30..running slowly this morning, hands are even having problems bending enough for typing..maybe a hot soaking and some painkillers will help..

Drats, should have called mom about her travel insurance last night but didn't..she would not have reached the insurance company at that time od day and would have fret all night..so first thing this morning it will be..not looking forward to doing so..

Sure was Dianne, dropped off my vehicle for a once over, got the timing belt done a couple of months ago, hefty price to do so considering that there was nothing wrong with it but people get saying with the amount of mileage it should be done before I run into problems,,so did, lately I've felt the car missing a beat, think because they were having difficulties lining it up and kept the car for 2 days that something is amiss!? Guess the old adage 'if it's not broken, leave it alone' is. True...anyway Monday when I went in to book appt vehicle was under warrantee, today not..we'll see if it's part of power train if they will still cover...on the positive side I'll have snow tires on today...ready for more of that white stuff.

Yes, Dianne, think the problem with hands feeling so thick could be part and parcel of arthritis..not good but the best thing I imagine it to keep working them.

Will wait till 8:30 and call mom about the travel insurance..just know then she will say there is no use going because she will not take initiate to go looking n her own..I cannot answer all her medical info they require. Sister Sharon says she plays old and stupid sometimes just so someone else will take on the job...up to her this time!!

As I said, if she doesn't go I'll leave early Saturday and get everything posted and fabrics purchased to finish my quilts..

Decided to call mom now, she said she has been up all night coughing, having breathing machine on with meds to help, she is not sure she should be going soooo
Left it in her court. She said aunt Muriel paid $79 for 3 days I durance and would would be out of pocket..told her that if aunt Muriel went and cancelled today likely she would get it back...as for the hotel room if we cancel before noon shouldn't be charged...she came up with, I'll just go without insurance..

Told her I'm ok with WHATEVER' just call me and let me know!

Betty, what kind of insurance do you buy to cross the border? Seems kind of pricey at $79.00 for the week-end?

It's to cover costs not covered by our Ontario Health system while travelling in USA..mine is only $16 but $79 is Aunt Muriel and likely mom's because they are over 80 and it could cost a fortune if they fell ill on your side of the border..
I buy mine just incase I was in an accident, God forbid..for other issued I could quickly get back into Canada as we're only about 1/2 hr. away..even paying an ambulance we could get to either Niagara Falls or St. Catharines hospitals

Dianne, the atmosphere is MUCH better and "peaceful" at home without Nate here. Have not seen nor heard from him since he left Saturday....which is fine.

So happy to see sunshine this morning...but at 5:00 steps were totaly ice when Izzy needed out. I stayed up on porch.
