Dianne, I am so happy you had a short day. Very considerate of that young man to take it all in and do that for you and Warren. And applesauce loaf sounds VERY good...with a cup of hot tea!

Mary, our 'zone envy" here is "very cold, didn't get out of the 40's...rain, wind and snow in the forecast". Yeah...I can do without that.

I had my water PT today...and it was so nice in the pool. VERY warm, and good therapy. I was able to walk somewhat....did quite the workout. THEN gravity promptly gave me a wake up call getting out of the pool...it actually made me tear up.

DH had his eye surgery today, repaired the macular pucker. Our oldest took him, he went in at 7:35....and was out at 8:05...and they were on the road home by 8:30. Dad took her out to breakfast and she came back here with him while I was at PT. Tomorrow is her birthday....can't believe she is going to be 28!!! I had her when I was 10!

Betty...where are you??? Was thinking weather related connections...but you could have gotten connections at work. sigh.

Mary, the way I look at it....for five days after surgery, I couldn't move much of anything but three toes. I can now move four toes and the ankle on my left foot. And my big toe on my right foot. SO...slow. BUT...some improvement. Nerves take a very long time to regenerate....so...not much I can do. I am exercising, taking the vitamin supplements they wanted....and resting/elevating.

Won't lie...there are times it hits me like a brick wall, like the last two days. BUT I held it together this last month, and there will be some set backs I know.

New job's going well - just wish they didn't all wear "scent" cuz I'm highly allergic! I wondered why I was headachy last week and this, and then today I had a very bad allergic reaction - had to leave the office 3/4 of an hour early. Really could have left an hour earlier than that.........
I went out tonight and got some allergy meds. I don't usually carry any with me, but I normally work in a "scent-free" office. This is a 1st for me.......
Anyway, as they all like to wear scent, I guess I'll be the one who has to change, by taking allergy meds.

Susan - there is an office I go to from time to time and they have a warning on the office door that if you wear Perfume... please knock and wait outside....

So I know that is a problem for many folks....

Stayed up to watch TV with the DH tonight. Haven't felt up to par the past couple of days so haven't been on the computer much but am praying for everyone who needs them and laughing when appropriate. Hoping all's well with Betty. So glad things were easy for Warren and Dianne. Will check in tomorrow. Y'all have a blessed one!

Oh, BTW, we had roasted turkey breast, and tomorrow the DH is having sandwiches and I'm making turkey and wild rice soup for me. ☺

I am worried about Betty, just not like her not to check in. Sending prayers that you are healthy and well and that maybe you just needed a little break and that is the reason you didn`t post.

Good medical news all around. Debbie, you inspire me. I get so discouraged at times; thank you for all you post.

I ordered a shoulder brace yesterday. Got helped by the service person at return2fitness as he listened to what's going on and then made a recommendation which I accepted.

I'm preparing a couple of packages to send to friends when I'm in Ca. If anyone wants blue glass pieces, let me know and I'll get you next time. We still have lots of blue bottles here and the dumps are open so I have a large collection. I also have a good tumbler so I can even tumble it for you. For the next trip.

Must get dressed and do some work.

Want to go back and read the posts, just scanned and now need to re-read!

Start with, called the Dr.'s office a few times, no results, finally we found out the problem, remember when gmt. changed all my ID to Bessie Marie Alice Lapensee (who in the heck is she) that was earlier this year...well when my test results came back and they tried to match up with their client base, no go so she said she scrapped the results (think at that point she should have called the hospital because the results just might have been life/death disease and the hospital could have re-routed-maybe she did I don't know) anyway have an appointment on Tuesday at 3:15pm. Seems I have high levels of iron and a few other things..could be reason from extreme join pain, muscle pain etc. yikes this morning I had to virtually lift my right arm with left arm just to brush my hair..I've had pain before but this is ridiculous..every bone/every muscle hurts like (*&%!!! Come to work, put my head down, get home, go directly to bed, do not stop..take pain killers but they aren't helping..everyone has been giving me here different things to tell the doctor about..growth underneath my foot..even about the bite on my forehead..lol

As for Caleb's costume, I have pieces cut..because I could not find white/black diamond shapes I've put wonder/under on the black and then ironed them onto each piece of white, sewed each diamond so they don't come off, so far only sleeve is done, where diamonds meet I've glued diamonds etc. just toooo tired to even think about it. My goal is to work from home tomorrow, get part done, other part Saturday and get it to Caleb by Sunday.

Now off to read, be back in a bit

Shirley, so glad to see you post, thrilled about the Christmas swap as well, will hopefully have mine done and ready to mail on the Nov. 11th run to Buffalo..last week when I was mailing the santa faces I picked up some flat rate boxes so now to see what I can fit in..sorry to hear your mom is not doing well, am sure she's not thrilled about being in the hospital, but it's the best place for her right now.


See that you all got your santa faces, now own up, who ended up with the 2 defects??? lol who ever it is I shall replace with 2 more.

How is hemochromatosis treated?
Treatment is simple, inexpensive, and safe. The first step is to rid the body of excess iron. This process is called phlebotomy, which means removing blood the same way it is drawn from donors at blood banks. Based on the severity of the iron overload, a pint of blood will be taken once or twice a week for several months to a year, and occasionally longer. Blood ferritin levels will be tested periodically to monitor iron levels. The goal is to bring blood ferritin levels to the low end of normal and keep them there. Depending on the lab, that means 25 to 50 micrograms of ferritin per liter of serum.
Once iron levels return to normal, maintenance therapy begins, which involves giving a pint of blood every 2 to 4 months for life. Some people may need phlebotomies more often. An annual blood ferritin test will help determine how often blood should be removed. Regular follow-up with a specialist is also necessary.

Wow Betty - that's a lot of birds! I hope your mind clears up - it's difficult, I'm sure, to keep things straight when you're in such pain!!!!!

I was able to work with Tony for about an hour. We got a good system going where I bunched up the dry stems and he fed them into the shredder. My "help" often consists of pointing; I was glad to be able to do a little more. I also planted a small coral tree. I grew it from seeds I found in Chula Vista.

Betty, your shoulder problem sounds similar to mine. Maybe it's a bug that's going around. I'll let you know how my brace works. It should hold my arm down so I don't keep overusing it.

I'm tired and happy.

Betty I suffer from hemochromatosis and once things level out it helps with the muscle pain. I have had a few blood draws but now they just keep check of the ferriton level. Glad you got it all figured out with the MHO and your Doc's office. I go by middle name and that alone causes huge problems I can't imagine what it would be like with a missmash of your name like they did.

Called Ann, she asked that I call as soon as I had news from the Doctor's office.

Poor thing was sobbing like crazy, her SIL who has had cancel about the same time as her hubby Mike, was rushed into hospital..they at first thought it was reaction to the chemo, seems that she has had a massive heart attack..she was sleeping last night when they left the hospital, Northbay hospital was getting papers ready to have her flown to Sudbury..Ann's brother on his way to hospital got a call to say she had taken a turn for the worse and to call the family.

Ann was going to leave to travel up on her own but her brother preferred she be the go between the family..Ann told me she just couldn't handle calling each of them and answering questions so e-mailed them the updates..I'll drop in on my way home tonight..she sure could use a hug..maybe a prayer or two as well!

Morning, oops afternoon..been quite a morning!

Got up at 5:30' got all the costume pieces our so I could formulate a plan, coffee in hand,sat at downstairs computer and no video input, must have played for an hour..thought I best head out to work seeing no computer..had just given new laptop to Jeff to make sure all work calendars are compatible and working, that finds me with only iPad which I can ar least get emails and forward emails..so I would try staying home and try and make do...

Darlene dropped in, checked my computer and no go so off she went to Staples for new monitor...hooked it up, still not working..called young woman in Vasey and will drop it off..should break down and buy a new system..no reason I need it because once the laptop is functional I should be ok. But I'd feel better having a back- up

So here I am, almost 1:00 and haven't touched the costume..as well, I've worked myself into a tigger, could not manage carrying monitor, nor vacuum for clean up of main unit so got myself a doozy of a headache..my own making!!

Maybe an hour nap, more drugs. Lol and I will mellow out
