Off to sew more binding on the quilt. Not sure what time Jeff and Julie will be here, hope it's lunch time, would be nice to have lunch with them.. have my laptop and 3 e-readers for him to pick up and load with books then I can wrap them in Christmas wrap..shouldn't be a problem, not a store here doesn't have their wrap out.

I got another six hours of sleep and am feeling almost human again. Very little barking by the dogs. I'm still in aa recuperating mode. Had the heating pad on my shoulder most of the night.

I think I should open a rest home with myself as the first resident. We could fill it up just with our group here. We could all veg together until we feel better.

Debbie, I hope you are still taking it easy. Be careful not to reinjure yourself.

With Amber gone, the other dogs are doing some readjusting on who is "top dog." No blood shed, just a few growls.

I am going to take a pain killer and do some clean-up in my bedroom. Yuck.

Oh - I am in the subtropics here so it's a lot like southern Florida. Winter is when we can grow things that people in more temperate cllimates grow in the summer. In the time I've been in my house, I've concentrated more on getting fruit trees and other food plants established. White flies have gotten beans and cucumbers I've started. I hope to havve lots of flowers and some vegggies in the new garden. If I can get some morning glories going they might reseed themselves.

Katie has better weather than we do, if she is just now planting things. We get a few weeks of frozen temps, so I don't dare plant anything. Someday I will have me a greenhouse!!!

I woke up to sunshine, and well, that helps the day brighten a bit.
DS made breakfast for me and his friends that are here.

Mary, thank you but I am doing OK on books. MIL sent FIVE boxes...and I went thru them and sending others back. PLUS I have two boxes I pulled from that Bettys DM sent me her previous trip over. AND my Nook! lol

Dianne, my DM used to SIT on a pillow in the car, said it helped the "bumpy road" with her backside and back pain. Took some of that discomfort traveling away. You would all laugh at what I travel with......purple mooshi pillow (bead filled), my little bear Jeanna gave me made from Alpaca fur....and a thin blanket I swiped from the child. lol I have had "Marv the Bear" clutched in my hand during a couple tests....and have to explain to the doctor. Funny when they start "stroking" Marvs fur! lol

Well, exercise time.....so I need to get moving.

Got my new muffler. Took about an hour and The charge was less than $65. I gave him $70 as he is an old friend and he doesn't charge me more because I am American. While he did the muffler I had breakfast of shrimp tacos.

Don't know which dog will end up being the boss. Max would like to be but he's the smallest and doesn't really intimidate the others. Jenny is so silly she doesn't understand the concept. Scout is still discovering the joy of play and the twins are more interested in competing with each other for my attention than to try to be boss. It's quite peaceful now and we have a big pot of chicken and rice cooking. As long as they are all well-fed they get along pretty well.

It's probably close to 90 degrees today but we are slowly getting some work done.

Good news. Kaiser gave me an appointment to see my doctor a week from Thursday. Saved a few lives there, I think, I was upset.

I also connected with a man who had a van for sale. The van is sold but he goes to government auctions several times a month so he may be able to get something for me. We had a nice talk.

Now I have to get ready to leave. Not much to do but must vacumn the van.

Surprise !

Still alive but on the go like crazy. I'm sitting here in the hospital with my Mom. It seems like it's been one thing after another with her and now she has 3 major infections in her leg that only started out as a small sore on her leg. She will probably be here a week or longer. Her BP is extremely high and so working on that to get it down. Has terrible pain in that leg. I really want to ring someone's neck at that NH. they kept tellin us her leg was getting better. If that's better, I hate to think what worse would be. DEAD! is what I'm thinking.

YEEPEEEEEEE! I finally got my D-Mail with my christmas name. I'm so excited. I will have to get my thinking cap on, it is pretty dusty and hopefully it won't go to pieces from age rot of sitting. It's a good excuse to go have some fun looking for ideas and seeing what I can come up with.

I need to go at the moment, but will be back later to chat some more.

Actually, that was my DH's exercise program, but I think he quit on me. ☺

Suse, I go to PT tomorrow....water therapy. I haven't had a "suit" on in at least 5 years...not so thrilled about that part. Stole one of DH's long tshirts to wear over!

DH has his eye surgery tomorrow also....has to be at hospital at 6:30. He is first surgery so for 7:30 most likely.

Betty, did you get doctors results yet??

Dianne, how are you and Warren? Did he get rest last night after venturing out? Sure hope so!

Well, I need to report someone......the weather man....he said a four letter word for tomorrow and rest of week. Just can't believe how offensive he was...S N O W...is not ready!!!

Thank you, Suse - today Was better. I spoke to the boss and he said he understood why I was getting frustrated - Dmitriy's english leaves something to be desired and his accent can be hard to understand, but I'm trying. Anyway, Neil said he would train me - I just have to call him and he will take me through it s l o w l y - and he speaks English - with a true English accent, true, but I understand him lol

LOL Laura I typed this before I read your whole post!No sleep here for me and DH has been up and down every 2 hours - that's alot when you go to bed at 8 pm. At least he can fall asleep between getups.

Its Betty, Thea, Susan, Barb, Debbie and myself who should have Zone envy everybody. My area will be having flurries by the weekend.Have 2 medium sized tomatoes left to eat from the plants I grew in pails on the deck so I will take back some of my whining about them.

LK, thanks for the link to the Gypsy Event. I sure enjoyed reading all about the event.

Better try and grab a couple of hours sleep before we head off to Kingston for a very long day. The CC tells you to bring all snacks, drinks even meals you would need if you are to stay the course of the day. But do not provide some place to keep items cool or warm them up. They are trying but someone needs to use their head and get a fridge and nuke in there ASAP. I have a mini nuke downstairs that I used to cart while on the road with the SG. Maybe I will take that in and leave it for people to use. When I travelled the province I carted homemade chili. stew, homemade soups with me as I often didn't close the show until 10 pm and by the time I got back to the hotel and calmed down it was midnight so didn't want to order in but also needed something good to get through the next long day.Didn't need the nuke the last few years as hotel/motels started providing nukes and coffeepots in each room.

Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today everyone!

Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee ladies! Dianne, praying you have an easy day and that it goes quickly for you! Maybe you need a wide mouth thermos for your soups to keep them warm. And a cooler to keep your drinks in!
Betty, you awake yet? Hard to believe you all are having snow already, but I heard on the weather channel, that parts of Colorado is getting snow too!

We are having unusually hot weather for this time of year. It usually cools down in mid-Oct. A difference like night and day. This year we are still getting days in the 90's and I'm using my a/c at night.

The fence Tony fixed seems to be keeping the dogs in a area where they don't get into barking contests with all the other dogs in the neighborhood.

Neighbors Dana and Tom have not been here before when it was at all hot. This is nothing compared to Our real summer months but they are used to Washington State weather and are suffering. They brought an A?C for thr=eir bedroom but it's not enough BTU's to keep it cool. They are getting a lesson in why Tony and I don't accomplish a lot of major work during the summer when they are gone.

Hang onto your hats - we're HOME!!!! Tech took 1 look at DH and realized there was no way he could hang out at the CC till 6 pm. So DH got his tats and a rescuduled apptment for Nov 1.Thank for explaining so well Thunder what 'tats' meant.

Betty, where are you dear???

I made sure when I left this morning that I had everything we might possibly need if we couldn't change the time. I used a beautiful bad that Barb made me to hold fruit, cookies, crackers, drinks, cheese and extra socks and sweater for DH as it is very cold in the Radiation Department. In another bag I lugged our books, the newspaper, DH's meds and whatever else I thought we would need. I figured if I didn't take all of these things we would be sure to be there until late.

Betty everything OK? Was it today she was going to meet Jeff?

Fat rain out there right now, I hope it doesn't go down too low tonight or it will be a skating rink.

I'm thinking sole tonight for dinnner with fettucine alfredo and steamed asparagrus - hope DH goes for it. What's everyone else having?
