How nice to be able to say, 'Going up to the farm...'

Thomaston, CT

Yes....the kids, however, were passed tired....all should have been in bed! However, since I may come away with new countertops from the farmhouse kitchen renewal project, I was happy! Taking a friend to lunch today after her doctor's appt. She's not expecting good news, & I need to cheer her up......

Thomaston, CT

News was not good...she's having surgery on Jan. 6th....then doc will know whether cancer or not.....anyway making potato ham soup for dinner tonight.....

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Sorry about your friend. What's your recipe for potato ham soup, Robin.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Sorry about your friend's news, RD. Glad she has you to help her along.

Spaghetti/meatballs, salad.

Thomaston, CT

Teri, it's different all the time depending on what I have in the fridge.....today I sauteed onions, shallots, celery, mushrooms & diced Canadian bacon...then I added diced potatoes, salt, pepper & bay leaf....added half a container of chicken stock & simmered til done....then I added 1/2 quart of whole milk....when cooled, I pureed most of it, but left some diced veggies to stir in.....

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Sorry to hear about your friend but will pray it turns out good!
I made my homemade beach pizza and salad tonight.

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Robin. Need lots of recipes for the leftover ham that I have in the freezer. No cooking tonight. Going to 2 of my GS's birthday party.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks for the good wishes for my friend....she is feeling better, so hopefully the surgery will go well....today we had meatloaf, noodles, acorn squash & green beans...lemon sorbet & fresh strawberries....

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I tried my hand at a beef pot pie with both the crust and filling made from scratch. It's in the oven now. Too much work, I'll never do that again. ☺

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Tonight we'll have the leftovers that came from 2 of our grandsons' birthday party yesterday. Eggplant rollatini, salmon in mustard sauce, roasted asparagus and I'll make a salad here.

Thomaston, CT

Gee, Dave, that sounds great even if it was a lot of work.....my writer's class went out for lunch....we are on break now until Jan. 23.....had a roast beef melt sandwich, & I'm still stuffed!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Taking a fresh ham with lots of trimmings my daughter's house. She's in the hospital where they are monitoring her pregnancy. The little guy needs to hang on for at least 4 more weeks. I'll be staying with her until she doesn't need my help. Might be a long while because I'll need to be there most of the time after Max is born.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Best wishes for your daughter
Hang in there little guy!!!!!

Last night I made chicken parm and realized I didn't have enough sauce...not even any homemade that was frozen ....chicken parm with hardly any sauce is not very tasty :(

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Blessings to your daughter, Teri. Praying for a longer pregnancy.

Pork tenderloin stir-fry with onions, apples and sweet potatoes.
