LOL Bev - Puffy is adorable - such blue eyes!

Sorry to hear you're still having pain Betty, Dianne, Judy and Bev (oh my...... prayers for all of you, whether I mentioned your name or not, you're all in my thoughts)
Dianne - hope Warren is getting some rest.

Well, it's been a busy week for me, for sure, and now I need to get the Children's Story ready for church tomorrow - have the colouring page and the hymn on the other side, and have a good gist of what I'm going to say to them, but need to "firm it up".

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving to all, love to stay up and gab but up at 2:30am and not being able tp get back to sleep has made for a long day, that and putting in 450 miles (not kilometers)..did all the driving sooo with having another busy day ahead of me I'm bathed, drinking hot chocolate and to bed I go!

Did get out the Santa faces, say delivery Monday or Tuesday..6 in each box although one box has 4 good ones..dropped two santa's on the floor, now have nose problems. Lol. But I included them in the box as you might know a youngster who could play with them..as 4 boxes are the same not sure which of you will get the 2 rejects..in the garbage you can put them...didn't have time once I took flesh paint out to touch them up to take a good look...who knows, the could all arrive broken!

Debbie ate at IHOP seeing it was near the post office..we were on a mission so didn't take the time to buy anything there, going back in 2 weeks for Hamburg show so will have more shopping time..did buy a lot of material though..have enough for two large rag quilts..10 yards Xmas fabric..some embellishments, scissors...we did go to 3 costume places..found jester costume for Caleb...44.95 at one store, $39.99 at another..got right to the till and chickened out..how after all these years could I cop out and not make the costume..even though I've difficulties with my right arm, only 5 days before he needs it, nope no could do. Back tracked to Joann's and bought material and spent almost as much as it would have been for the pre made one.

When you cross the border and only there less than 24 hours you cannot bring anything back..got brave, had receipts out, told the girl the truth, said we had to pay duty on what we bought, she said 'off you go, enjoy your day'. Exciting part, less than 10 minute wait crossing over and coming back!

Sharon just called to say her dog won best of breed in Atlanta Georgia today and hoping he wins another category tomorrow..with show points he could become top American Eskimo dog in USA. Think he has the Canadian one..

Mary,were you staying the night or was it tonight you has to be back for the game..

Debbie, going over to read the report..hugs

Judy, sorry you've been unwell

Gee whiz, saying hi and bye rather quickly, sooo tired

Bev. Look at that sweetie..love the photo in the pop box

Susan, did you sell any cakes today..

Katie sure hoping you get you appointment...bet you can't get enough rest when you are in that much pain..
Thea had that coffee and apple fritter for you..

Falling asleep, must go to bed

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I sold 1 and 1/2 cakes - so profit of $37 for them, and a total profit of $90 (even after I went to the baking table and bought a few other trinkets from friends).
btw - can anyone tell me what kind of kettle this is? Bob brought it home from helping a friend move.....
It looks like a kettle, but it's got a large lid and covered with pics of veggies....

Hi everyone!!!!

Got the conference done, got to go to the RU in MS, picked Dave up from the airport last night, Lordy Lordy he started yelling at me the minute I got him in the truck. I just told him "NO SIR!! You've been gone a full month and you were like this when you left, I'm NOT having anymore of it, things have changed since you've been gone my friend!" He instantly got nice and has been nice ever since. His truck has some sort of clunk in the front end, was really bad when I got to Olive Branch, MS so yesterday morning I had 2 hours to kill so I took it to the shop, girls me and 3 other mechanics took that truck apart, looking for anything loose, broken, whatever, couldn't find anything so the only thing it could be is a wheel bearing. Dave just left for WalMart about 30 minutes ago and he thinks that it's not as bad as I'm making it but when I can't pull into a driveway that has a dip instead of a curb and the whole front end sounds like it's going to fall apart right then and there, and I'm 3 hours from home, I have a problem! It did perfectly fine coming back home, so whatever.

I've done a very minimal amount of catching up, but Dianne don't worry about going off, we are here to listen to anyone with problems and if you have a panic attack on here so what, we all do!

Katie I hate Kaiser, they don't have it back here in the south thank God. Hope you get your appointment, or better yet hope your arm just stops hurting!

I'm going to go to the prayer thread and check on Debbie.

Love y'all!!

mulege, Mexico

Good morning, everyone, Ii've been up since 6 due to pain and worried that I'd offended someone. The someone was offended, seems she can criticize me but I'm not allowed to respond. That's too darn familiar.

I've done a little work outside. I have no stamina and it's very frustrating. I've got pains all over.

I've cleared a wooden kitchen table. I will sand it a bit - I want to put a finish on it. I have to accept that I can't do everything at once. I hate that, don't you?

Kaiser in San Diego seems to be way better than it is anywhere else. I have a friend in LA who hates it, too. Whjere did you deal with it? I've had four hand surgeries and two eye surgeries in San Diego and all went very well.

And, crissy, good for you for putting a stop to the yelling. Do you remember the old joke about donkey training? Maybe you should carry a chunk of 2by4. Just to get his attention.

I did get a hummingbird feeder done for Dana to take to an art sale where she does fund raising for the animal clinic. I may get another done but who knows. One is better than nothing.

I'm so tired I could just die.

Prayers for everybody. I'll be getting the artificial leg that cannot be reused in the US. I also gave a push to a friend who needs to get a power scooter so he can get out and he has some "issues" about a used oen. He wrote back and thanked me. Nice to know I haven't offended everyone.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening everyone, just walked in from sewing class, thought I'd be home around 2 or 3 and here I am, 5 pm and weekend is behind me!

Just ran my bath, pork cops cooking and off I go..be back shortly..sooooo need some meds!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

g'day all! Just back from church and "sundry shopping" as our friend Doug says. Every Sunday, after church we go shopping and take him - he doesn't have a car and it would take him 1 1/2 hours to go on bus home. When we go shopping it's for 2 -3 hours and he may only buy one thing, but he loves learining more areas of Calgary and the company :-)
Anyway, it was a successful shopping trip - I found the tiny stickers I need for the church library - could not seem to find the 8.5 x 11 pages of them, so I got the smaller sheets and I'll write them in instead of on the computer. It will take more time, but I couldn't find the full-size sheets anywhere! The stickers are to put on the spine of books (or the front is the spine is too thin).

Crissy - good for you to have told Dave off! He doesn't need to be nasty to you!!! I'm proud of you, girl :-) I agree with katie LOL
Katie - take a deep breath and get some Rest! You really need that pain and tiredness taken care of......

((((((((((Everyone))))))))))))) you know you are loved - prayers to, and for, all of you :-)
Have a terrific day!!!!!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now if I can stay awake I'll chat a bit. Lol

Crissy that must have been a shock to Dave having you tell it like it is..glad you moped it in the bud! no need for him being so miserable right upon his return..he should have been showing you just how much he missed you and glad to be home!! Is he home for good ow? Bet you are thrilled that the

Watched sportscasters gab about the football game in New Orleans and Mary came to mind..was it tonight her company was hosting staff and clients?? Waiting to hear all about her get together and plants she came home with.

Susan, were you pleased with the outcome of the church bazaar? Now that you are working you will have little time for the baking!

Katie, we are much alike, sometimes you get so caught up in wanting to help someone you don't see how you possibly offend them but it's taken badly and offend you do..just got to let it slide by otherwise you would be feeling the hurt all the time!

Sorry you are in so much pain, you just need some good old fashion sleep to gain your strength back.

Bev, did Puffy get into any mischief today? Nothing like a kit tie to make you smile with their antics...

Can't believe how quickly the weekend went by, never you mind the weekday, look at October, once this week is over and we are into November we'll be saying next month is Christmas!

With the gorgeous sunshine day we had, who will believe the weatherman says snow is just around the corner!

I've tried to stay up for night shift but no can do..hope your weekend was a good one!

Victoria Harbour, ON

So laughing, grabbed about 5 crackers to take to bed, went downstairs to feed the kitties. Thought why not get a cookie for sailor, moved some material around, started to eat my crackers, was 3/4 through one when I realized crackers were on kitchen counter, I was almost through eating Sailor's cookie..yuk/yuk! Lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LOL Betty - you are a "caution" LOL Poor Sailor - did he get the crackers instead (suppose not, if they were salted ones......). My DH said "read the box for the nutrient content and you'll see that they're good for humans too"
We just sold something else from the sale - Bob had his telescope for sale, and one of the ladies emailed to say her husband wanted it, so we'll take it to the church on Tues and do the transaction lol :-)

Verona, ON

LOL Betty. My DH used to do that all the time when he was teaching to gross the kids out. We have always had big dogs so they get big biscuits. DH would pop his head around the corner of a nice quiet class room and ask the teacher if she or he was hungry. Then he's say well I am and am going to have my snack now. Chomp! The kids went bananas! Actually he said it tasted better than some of those leaves and twigs biscuits that were so popular in the early 70's. What a nut! My DBIL did DH one better though. He was a banker and worker very late hours. He came home from work and didn't want to wake my DSis and their new baby so he opened the fridge. Looked around and saw 2 plates with what look like Spam/Kam that sort of thing covered with saran. Sandwich sounded perfect to him! Later the next day DSis asked DB if he had fed the dog. Yep you guessed it - he ate canned dog food not the Spam. He said he quite enjoyed it toasted with mayo, lettuce and tomatoes.

Oh Katie I hope you can soon get yourself out of such physical pain. There are such a lot of us on this thread who battle horriffic pain each day. Some days it is the laughter and support I get from everyone here that helps me get through the day. I was so sorry to read your dog Amber had gone to the bridge. She'll have lots of great pets from DG just waiting for her to play with them.

So Mary, how was it? Did you bring home many plants? Sandy told me you were at another Roundup, I was sure you would be at hers because hers was mainly exchanging hibbies. Safe travels, no speeding tickets?

Did a little "Whooo Hoooo" here at my desk when I read your post Crissy. You go girl! Do not put up with that crap 1 second any longer. You've laid it out, now it is his turn to see if he wants it enough to treat you the way you should be treated. Stand strong and we will all be right there behind you. Dave should perhaps think twice about being so negative since you have packup of some very strong ladies!

Ooooh Susan I like the kettle! My mam had a kettle plus a whole tea service very similiar to that. Lots of great cuppas came out of that set.

Absolutely stupendous day here in Verona. Poked around outside trying to make each chore take forever.lol
Hope tomorrow will be the same.

Don't forget if you have any questions that you needed answered about your Exchange partner please Dmail me.

All this talk of tea makes me want a cuppa so off I go. Sweet dreams everyone!

Dianne

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm having some tea now - always have a thermos of it sitting by my chair in the choir loft every sunday, and on every thursday for choir practice. I like tea with honey & lemon (and sometimes ginger). It's really good for the throat!

Thanks Dianne for the comment on my tea pot. Boy it sure stumped me when I saw the huge lid opening.... and the veggies, but y'all have me convinced it's a regular tea pot that matches other pieces of a set - thanks!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, I'm up and at it, thought about staying home today but decided to go in, have some things that need attending to!

Wind is up this morning, rain not far behind..

Love your stories Dianne, yes, spam/canned dog food looks much alike, especially when in the refrigerator! Guess Sailor was upset about the cookie, will post a photo of how she handled it when I get to work. She and I aren't speaking right now.

I've started setting things aside for my Christmas box that I think she would like..amazing how we know each other, I'm thinking oh yes £€>% would like this, nope don't think that's suitable. Lol..do better than I do with some family members.

Got the part of the quilt I worked on yesterday in a bag to finish binding of rows, in another bag, have costume material to cut out the jester pattern so I will have plenty to keep me busy..tonight am hoping to get a bit done of the sewing, only have a few days to finish it so won't be fancy, fancy!

Ohh Susan, that was good new about the telescope, she is lucky you didn't sell it..often do that, want something, hymn haww then when I go to get it it's gone!

Andy did you get some biking in this weekend?

Laura, how is the back..

LindaKay, what were you io to ..you'll have 6 santa's to make shortly, how much fabric did you buy, enough for 2 or 3.

Debbie, as always you are in my morning prayers...

Barb, been missing your posts, know you haven't been well since your trip here, am so concerned..

Shirley, you all winterized?

Mary, the night shift will be busy, you will have so much to tell us about..

Judy, hope you feeling better as well..

Waving to all I've missed

Tummy wants breakfast so got to run!

Verona, ON

Morning Betty! Are you up Laura?

Kick A** coffee is ready and I made some cinnamon rolls. They are cheaters, I buy them frozen then let them rise for 6 hours before I bake them. Still pretty tasty though and if I didn't tell all I knew you wouldn't know! lol

Mary you must have been very tired last night, hope all went well with your trip. And just how many plants did you come home with Missy?

Off to Kingston in about an hour. DH sees his Radiation Oncologist this morning. Sure hope he feels well enough afterwords to come say yes or no to a bedroom suite that we saw online.Its no biggie if he doesn't feel like it, he will just have to enjoy what we picked out online. Find out today if they are going to radiate his right shoulder, If they recommend surgery to shore up the joint first he will flip out on them.

Crissy hope your weekend went much more smoothly than it began.

~~~~~~ to everyone.
Dianne
Victoria Harbour, ON
Safe travels Dianne...ohhh lucky you, new bedroom suite..either way it's purchased you shall love it! Funny how we put up with a not so good mattress and yet we sound most of our time in bed, well not all of us!!
Hope dr's are gentle with Warren!! Doesn't need any more pain ..tell me more, where do you purchase these cinnamon rolls?? Now I have to stop at Timmies for sweets!
On my way out out the door as well
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Morning everyone! Betty, I have made the mistake with dog biscuits too! Too funny!
I bought 2 yards of each color velvet, so I think I should have enough for 4 Santa's at least? If I need more I can go buy more! Can you tell me what size wire was used for the arms? I think it was wire for the arms, I will have to go look?
Sounds like everyone had a great week-end. We went to Austin for the Gypsy picnic, and had a great time! They had about 60 different food and beer trailers lined up, we went from trailer to trailer to try the foods, desserts and beer!
Bev, love that little kitty! She is so cute!
Debbie, hope your doing better today!
Dianne, hope you and Warren slept well last night?
Victoria Harbour, ON
GRRRRR,
I e-mailed Caleb to tell him I had the fabric with me at work to cut out the Jester costume and when did he need it for...his reply ' didn't did call you and tell you I wanted to be "SHUFFLE BOT"
Wire is thick version, can buy a roll in Home Depot for cheap, heavy duty, think it's what they use to hand furnace ducts in the home Lindakay..if you watch how you cut maybe you will get an additional santa out of them..not sure who is getting the 2 rejects for garbage or kids play..so check the faces out before using
Victoria Harbour, ON
Here is a shuffle bot..certainly not black/white that I could use the material I just bought..
Betty, I would be upset about the change in costume! I would tell him he is getting the jester costume!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Nothing worse than making a costume though and putting all that effort into it and then they don't want to wear it..have an e-mail out to JEFF!!!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Jeff sent me an e-mail said Jester is has to be...left message for Caleb on Facebook, really/really wanted to be shuffle bot..lol...not going to happen!
So glad you'll be able to make the Jester!! I gather Jeff was to have told you of Caleb's change, and didn't? Well, now Caleb gets what Gma is making, so There! Guess Jeff will have to "take it on the chin" lol
mulege, Mexico
If it weren't for my friends here I'd be having a serious meltdown. Yesterday we had two power outages. The first one was short; the second started at about 3pm and went until about 10 am this morning. I'm grateful this didn't happen in August but it was still difficult. There are several families with dogs just returned for the winter and all the dogs barked almost all night. I slept in my van where it was slightly cooler than the bedroom and I have a reading light. The new kitty joined me and it was very nice until one of the dogs broke through the chicken wire on the door and joined us. The dogs were behind the chicken wire door because they ahd dug under the gate yesterday morning, making a big leak in the water pipe that is there so everyone got a mud bath while escaping. The birds liked it, though. Neighbor Tom came over while I was getting a very small amount of work done and offerred some helpful (not!) advice. I was also missing some food and I think Crazy Nancy a weird neighbor has been coming in at night as she knows how to open the gate and that the dogs don't bite.
When Tony got here this morning I gave him the highlights and laid out a plan for handling some of these things. I also told him that I want him to put in a full four hours each day; it has gradually sleipped to three-and-a-half or a little less. He immediately said fine and we didn't have to hassle. He knew he was pushing it. I don't mind in the summer when it's so hot we are in survival mode. But now that it's cooler we have to catch up on all the work we slacked off on during the summer. I reminded him that if we get even close to caught up we can do more concrete work and display stuff in the new garden - any sales mean more money for both of us (mostly him). I also presented him with a good pair of tin snips from my last trip to the US to repair the chicken wire door. Reminded him that I keep him supplied with good tools.
Went to town arranged to return tomorrow to get a new muffler. Lost mine on the trip home. Four nice Mexican men helped to remove it after it dropped and I gave the one who did the most work a good pair of work shears. Another nice little Mexican experience.
I also got a box of chicken legs so the dogs can eat well.
Also got a Dmail from my friend Jenny in Hawaii who has been laid up with a bad back. She and her husband have each had a couple of surgeries in the last few months and then her back went out. Another member of our "take a deep breath and let go it off the stuff" club.
By asking Tony to step up, I also decided to step up a bit myself and I've gotten some small chores done. I've soaked some morning glory seeds and they are ready to go out in the new garden. Also a few other small chores that I put off during the summer heat.
Thank you all for listening. Or reading. It's been a hard few days but my arm is a little less painful and I feel better after sharing all this.
hugs, katie
Take a DEEP Breath Katie - I'm sending a Hug over to you Pronto.... Wow when it rains it pours as they say...
((HUGS))) Dianne and Betty ! Miss you all it's been a whirlwind....
Drove 300 miles to Plant Swap Friday and 300 back Saturday... Dianne I got some really great plants... a Tahoe full of them...wish I could plant now but I think I'll over winter in the pots and plant in the Spring... LK - I went to look a bunch up on DG and you have "liked" them on FB so maybe you have some knowledge to share.
American Beauty Berry, coral honeysuckle, turks cap, confederate rose(looks like a hibiscus), Ti Plant, white texas star, dragonfruit, cereus, heliconia, lots of house plants, bromeliads, spinach malabar seeds.... "to name a few" LOL....
Hubs and I went to the Saints game... clients showed up and seemed to have fun... it was a blowout, like 62-7.... love that you thought of me Betty... oh the sights you see in New Orleans before and at a Saints game ! The Suite was very neat and my bosses were nice... well 2 were nice and 1 didn't speak to me...but when she went to leave at 11pm I said "8:30a tomorrow, right" hoping she would let me miss the meeting and she said "absolutely" meaning NO - I HAD to be at the meeting. We got home around midnight....
So I was the first in the office today and none of the bosses have shown up yet LOL....
I'll try to post a pic of hubs and I at the suite... and will try to catch up on the Night Shift...
I'm feeling "owly"....... I'm getting cryptic emails at work asking me to "issue response" or "submit" documentation and I not only don't know all the processes, but in one case the document they want me to submit has been removed from the email....... arrrrrrrrrgh. And anyone I could ask is in a meeting - in fact they're ALL in the same meeting. There is no one to ask..... feeling frustrated.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Mary, I like all those plants you mentioned, but I don't have any of them.
Katie, hang in there. Were here to talk to when ever you need too!
Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)
Oh thanks Mary. I have over 2000 pics of my daylilies. Here is one. I just entered 15 of them in the next AHS photo contest. BEV
Oh Bev I LOVE that DL. What a gentle colour it has.
Katie, we are all here for you just as you and everyone else on this thread were here for me last Wed. night. To be quite honest there are things we share with each other here that I think we sometimes don't even tell the people closest to us...... it is a nice feeling.
Well look at that gorgeous couple - a handsome Cajun dude and a beautiful Fla gal. You make a wonderful looking couple. So glad you got a Tahoe full of plants at the roundup.If I can hardly wait to see pics of them in your garden I can just guess how excited you are.
How is it going today Betty? Bet you are early to bed tonight. Naughty Sailor........ dogs sure do love cat kibble. My Tundra when he was a pup I had to watch like a hawk when I fed the cats. I keep both the cats' and the dogs' kibble in old crocks in the kitchen with no top on them. Always takes a bit to teach the dogs not to eat the cats' kibble when they are pups but they seem to lose interest after awhile.
Debbie did you see me waving at you today? That was me across the pond!!! Stormy still thinks we could swim to get to you and Izzy.lol
LK tell me more about your Gypsy gathering this weekend. I am intruiged.
The picnic was lots of fun. For only $3.00 per sample, you could go from one trailer to the next, and try all the different items. Empanada's of all minds, tacos, cheese steaks, ice cream, beer of all flacors.... It was a great day!
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
Wow - good looking couple! Teapot is pretty much brand new, so a "knock-off" of old timey one, I guess
