Best/Worse/ What did I learn today? & Xmas Swap

Doc thought LindaKay that it might be some type of body infection, I'll be impressed when nothing shows up lol..can't win, you don't want it to be something major but then when you are feeling ill you don't want them to say it's nothing..

Agitated here this morning and I didn't even talk to my mom yet..LOL

Lordy, lordy that lady never ceases to amaze me..just talking with Sharon, asked what size mom told her she wanted for her rag quilt..wants it to fit a king size bed and overlap on the sides and wants matching pillow shams..I know, I did tell her I'd make her a rag quilt, in my mind thinking something to throw over her like all the others I made..slap me silly for offering please!!

You must get tired of me complaining about my mom...

Wow, that is a lot of squares to cut, then snip the edges! She doesn't ask for much does she?

Just spoke to her, told her it wasn't going to happen..I'd make one double size..then she said she wanted it in cotton....nope, no can do..wanted to pay for material and labor would be my christmas gift to her, nope, it's my gift and I'll do it as I can..she just got back from doctor's office...has brochitis..she won't be making the trip to Buffalo with Sharon and I Saturday, but she did say that likely I wouldn't want to take her later if she's up to it..told her I would..promise is a promise right.

As for the ragging, the accuquilt does all the work, just have to do bits at a time seeing my right arm isn't too mobile..do have to purchase the plastic matt though for the accuquilt as I'll likely need 2 to do a full quilt.

Called Joann's Fabrics because on the add it says midnight madness, to me midnight madness means shopping during the night..young man said no, daytime only..if you spend more than $50 and boy will I spend more, lol, you'll get an additional 30% off..problem with that is they give it in form of a card which is only good for the next week , doesn't help unless I make another trip over..maybe it would be a good time to take mom

Will be mailing santa faces on Saturday to Barb, Laura and LindaKay..

Remember I was telling you all about a local girl, Cindy Desjardins who was here at one of the offices of the girl I speak to all the time who had flesh eating disease..she'll be on Cooper Anderson talk show this afternoon at 5pm..not a long segment but if you can watch it might be interesting

WONDERFUL! I got a little frustrated with the teaching skills of one of the fellas, but I tied him down and let him go over the stuff again so I could write it down. Then I told my boss how happy I was to have the process down (thank you, Dmitriy!) and he said "how long have you been here?!" I said "three days" and he said "WOW - look at you!"

Lol, don't show them all your smarts, might intimidate them all!

well...... today, while going through files in the hallway cabinet (to familiarize myself with these things) I found a file that, when I looked at it had a letter from another co saying they didn't get the contracted bid and to destroy all documentation re: bid. The documents were all there. I asked my boss about it and he said I was right - however the files belonged to another dept and he'd sent the info over to the manager of that dept. I guess I'd better check which files I will be looking after, eh? LOL
Anyway, Neil was pleased I found this because, as I said, this has legal ramifications for both companies!
I certainly won't repeat this to anyone else in the company, but felt you would understand how truly clever I am LOL LOL LOL

LK - my cough is Much better but did have an episode today...always at the most inopportune time UGH! I have cut down on meds. I keep thinking it's mind over matter. I "suspect" the good behaviour has something to do with Community college/grades...
Love the Doily! It's so interesting how people are all decorating for Halloween these days... Folks here putting out hay bales and etc. Very cute... I even got a couple "Harvest Decorating" items as a door prize from the model A club...
Betty - interesting Promo from Joanns...they know you will spend more than $30 when /if you return.... Horrible news from CHina... the book I'm reading - Suse recommended - is of Chinese culture and hard to believe... they are so strict in the book re: their culture. I don't ever mind reading about your Mom... I just feel for you.... really have to shake my head from time to time. I suspect this is what my DSD's will be going through one day.

my girls leave tomorrow to go to DIL's Moms, she lives further south. They will spend the weekend there, then come back for a few days. then head home.

Yes we have been able to Skype together to Daddy (my son) that's when he told me they will be back in the USA before / by new years!!!! He can not give any dates!! big NO NO !! But the commanders told them all they could tell that bit of info to family !!! we are all very excited.. ^_^ ^_^
I follow a few web sites, with some information re: military, and I know that they are packing up lots of the big equipment, and soldiers are coming home at the rate of approximately 520 per day !!!! over 40,000 to come home between Now and New years !!!! Amen !! and about time !! pictures of the packing are amazing, and very exciting....one step closer to home every day :)

Betty, I am waiting to see those angels, and did you say you did ornaments?? instead of the candy.....Malena has been helping me to re-arrange my blocks on the wall in the hallway...she sure has been having fun with that!!!

she just amazes me every minute!!! any of you that have seen a picture of my DH knows he has a beard and mustache, well Malena pets Pepe's beard !!! and she was doing it, and touched his beard and said "nice beard!!" then touched his mustache and said "what?" Pepe said "mustache" and she repeated it, then said Mommy mustache?? NO only Pepe !!
and since then every time he kisses her, she touches his face and says "mustache!! Pepe ! Nice!!" and he told her she was a Genius ! she says I'm what?? he said a genius, so now she walks around randomly saying I am a genius!!!! it is just too freak-in adorable!!!

I am going to have to stop sending out the names tonight ,we have had a complete breakdown/menltdown here at the house. Thank you Linda Kay for getting back so quickly about my DMail tonight. At the moment I am not sure who I should call first 1.our precious vet as Quill seems to have suffered a stroke and lost her sight all at the same time or 2.Paramedics.... while Quill was collapsing Warren started bellowing the most horriffic screams of pain I have ever heard. He is on the bed in pain I can't even comprehend - it is all along his right hip, pelvis and knee where many of the tumours are. Pumped him full of mega Breakthru Pain meds so he seems to be starting to quiet down. Talking too much - excellent sign I am scared!! Will finish posting Exchanges in the am, trying to figure out what to do first and to whom. Send positive thoughts!!!

The meds seems to have helped Warren - or at least he is a happy man. He is struggling to stay awake to be there for me with Quill but there is nothing he can do to help me if she needs moving. Just peeked in the bedroom and Santa Warren is sound asleep. Good!!! One less thing I have to stew about at the moment. We were told I was NOT to take him into the hospital unless he was having a great deal of difficulty breathing.

About midnight Quill struggled to her spot on a mat near the woodstove and just plopped down. She is not crying in pain just looking very uncomfortable. She does not want to try to move anywhere so I am going to leave her. I manage to get the towel under her and get her outside so I don't have to worry about that either.

Thanks for listening to me tonight - this has NOT been a good week for our family. Gotta get better!!Since Warren is napping and Quill seems comfortable I am going to try and have a quick nap or I will be of no value to anyone when the time is neeed.
Will definitely complete sending out the Exchange names and addresses today. My goodness I never have this much drama in my house ever!

Dianne...my heart just goes out to you. You have so much to carry on your shoulders right now and now this on top of things :(
Believe me, if we all could just take a piece of your worry, your hardship and your pain we would gladly do it. Just know we are all here for you, right beside you, every step of the way. Love, hugs and prayers coming your way. Try to rest for a bit.

The winds are horrible here...power is flickering off and on and I made already a big pot of coffee just in case we loose it for good. Heard a few big thumps outside...so I know we lost some limbs or trees...still too dark out to see any damage.

Betty I hope that your pain is improving and that you had a restful night. As for the Santa faces...no it wasn`t me that had asked for them. Your Mom sure sounds like one heck of a woman!! I don`t think she understands the concept of a rag quilt...a quilt to snuggle in...not to use for decoration. You are handling it amazing Betty...not sure I would be able to...most likely I would be blowing up in her face...lol

Thunder...I am sooooo happy for you that you got word that your son will be home soon!! Will keep him in prayers for his safe return home. Your granddaughter is sooooooooo adoreable...just love the cute things the little ones come up with.

Here is the little turkey applique dishtowel I made...the kit is a gift from Barb and with Barb's permission the little guy went all the way to Germany to my sister who lovessss turkeys...lol

Morning all, stormy night and quite the rainfall right now..best I keep those towels ready just incase..worries me after Saturday's flood going to work and not knowing what I sall come home to..don't borrow trouble they say.

Thank goodness things calmed down a bit and that Santa Warren is resting, Quill settling in for the night and that you hopefully will get a few hours in..know your adrenaline is pumping overtime and it will be difficult to sleep...as Judy would say, big arm wraps coming your way!! I'm here but kind of fuzzy. Got some sleep last night in spite of a lot of baking by Scout. the Downside of having our neighbors and their dogs back.

Tony buried Amber on the north side of the arroyo.

I slept with the heating pad on my arm last night. It is still sore. I've written to ask for an appointment with my doctor in early November. I also think I found a shoulder harness that will help. Both will have to wait a couple of weeks until I can get up to Ca. Meanwhile, please bear with me as I'm having trouble tracking. Even keeping the dishes and laundry done is a challenge I don't always meet.

Tony has been continuing work on the new garden. I did some help with clean up but most of my "help" is occasionally pointing at something that he then takes care of. He's literally being my right hand.

I know the problem with my arm will pass or get better or I'll get used to it. It's not life-threatening, just very annoying. And I hate it when the pain keeps me from thinking clearly. Or what I llike to think of as clearly.

I think I can manage making my bed so I'm going to try that.

Betty, I did at one point....ask about the Santa's . I would love to have 3 or 4 faces....if you have them to spare. Do not make more just for me!!!! It is a project I will not get to before Christmas!!! It will maybe be good to work on, Jan. and Feb......have to watch the budget, and try to find the materials...beard..etc..
will have to go search for those directions/ threads again.

the threads I watch, are facebook pages, and I get an e-mail newsletter... I get some info from the site Military.com you have to sign up, but it is free... if you facebook there are lots of military pages, I follow a few Navy ones, and a few Army ones...

An arroyo is a rocky hillside. I have it on three sides of my property. We are gradually amending the soil and terracing it. There is a flame tree which might bloom for the first time next year across the path from where Amber is buried.

The arm problem is just so frustrating. Raising it agravates it and then I hunch my shoulder which makes it worse. I think the harness will help, both to hold it down and to keep it warm - the one I'm looking at applies infrared heat.

I got my bed made with the "help" of Jenny and Scout. It's not very neat but we had fun.

Off to take another pain killer, then tackle laundry and dishes.

Look at the velvet I got yesterday for $4.00 per yard.
It is much deeper purple and green that what is in the picture! Wish they had more colors, but I think they will make nice victorian santa's!
