Darlene just called, seems her FIL just got reports and the cancer has spread..now for treatment..

My front view is of the River Mulege (the only year-round river in The Baja) running into the Sea of Cortez. There is a small port here and there is a lighthouse to guard it. Beyond the Sea are mountains. It's a million dollar view. I look over the roof top of one neighbor, otherwise the view is all water, trees, etc, no houses. That is also the road side of my house. The other three sides are arroyo with a few houses on the other side. The arroyo floods when we have a heavy rain so it's not suitable for being built on. As we builod up the soil on my side of the arroyo we are putting in fruit trees and other plants to keep the soil from washing down when it rains.

Our lovely fall weather is here - come on down!!

Stopped at Elmvale fabric shop on my was home, needed 1/2 yard of blue Christmas fabric, with being home tomorrow I knew I'd get a few more panels done IF I picked up the 1/2 yard..imagine, fabric is nothing special,regular cotton, $14.99 a meter (39 inches) shaking my head, no wonder we are not buying in our own country!! Joann's here I come!!

On the way out of the store, Sears Wish Catalogue was for the taking, so tonight I'm going to do like I did many moons ago and flip the pages and earmark what I want Santa to bring..from now to Christmas it will change many times...do you have stores that still offer catalogue shopping??

I should check in more often. Who is making the King size quilt, Thea? Tell them it's a single comforter. They have no idea of the effort required for such things and will not appreciate your efforts.
Thanks everyone for the condolences. My other sister and I have made peace with Lori passing. Donations to charity will continue but some stuff is simply past it's 'Use by Date'. Upholstered furniture is taboo thanks to the bed bug issue. Lori's artificial leg can not be used by anyone else in the US because of stupid regulations, it's parts may be used in 3rd world countries if we pay for shipping. Right.
There is one ray of sunshine, her bike. Lori always liked bicycles but this is over the top. What was a 70 yo handicapped woman doing with a high end, 24 speed, hybrid 'comfort racer'? We found it under a thick layer of dust on her porch. I dusted it off and brought it home. I'm gonna take up bike riding again with this baby, it really goes. Hand crafted in Canada with tons of upgrades, shock absorbers in the front & under the seat, Michelin tires, you name it. I used to ride a lot but never on something like this, wow.
Here it is in the yard today after I put 10 miles on it. I'm in love.

Betty - When Hubs and I went to Carabas they let us choose to sit where we could watch some of the food being prepared... I'd recommend it... was very fun.

So now when you all visit me you'll get to see my new cement stained floor with dog prints in it.
Not sure if they can fix... Then hubs spills my frozen basil all over the floor. Then drops his mashed potatoes all over the floor from the microwave.

UGH!!!! I am off tomorrow Thank The Lord. I will get up ...load my cuttings and plants and drive 6 hourse to Crestview FL. The Swap is Saturday morning.

worried about Dianne and Deb.....

Another long day but sure not as taxing as yesterday and last night. I actually got to grab a nap this afternoon for about 45 min - just don't recommend trying to sleep on a hardwood floor with your arms wrapped around a 100 lb dog.
Dawn arrived this morning with relief for both Quill and my DH. I have enough meds on hand and know exactly how much I can safely give DH so after mega doses they finally kicked in and he was able to fall asleep. Qill stayed on her mat in front of the woodstove most of the night, asked to go outside once in the night (God bless that little girl) and when she got up this morning was sort of stiff and likes to walk with one shoulder almost touching the wall. Through everything she went through last night - the quivering and tremers she didn't cry out in pain. Sheis a trooper!

I am so sorry to have dumped on you last night. I just sort of freaked out with everything happening at once. I have beeen having this very irrational fear and dreaming that I am going to lose Warren, Stormy and Quill all within a short time of each other. Can't seem to shake it so when everything spiraled down hill last night this irrational fear just gripped me. Enough with the drama!! That usually doesn't happen in my house - I was raised in a very quiet environment and Warren and I have a very quiet home so the ine=tensity of last night through me for a loop.

Looks like just about everyone received their name in the Santa Exchange. Please let me know if you haven't already that you received your name. It was so nice to see how much everyone said they were excited about the name drawn for them and that we are going to have this exchange. I for one am really looking forward to this!!

Mary have a blast on Saturday!Ya didn't get your hands slapped because you wanted Friday off? Hope things have settled down for you at work.

We have been fighting the elements with our internet connection these last few days and I can see I am going to lose this one soon as it has started to flicker - so I will send this off before it goes Poof!

Just came back from accupuncture and now I am ready for a nap...my back/hip always feels good right after the treatment...maybe I should permanently stick a needle in there...lol

Andy that is one great bike and I had the same thought as Betty...maybe your sister had bought it for you because she knew you would cherrish it.

Much calmer day today in our household, either the meds are working for DH, Stormy and Quill or I took all of their meds by mistake and am just mellowed out.

Dogs are here with leashes in their mouths so it must be time for last call. Sometimes I am not so sure teaching the dogs to bring me their leashes when they want to go outside was a good thing!

I didn't do anything exciting today. I had some catching up to do since I had company yesterday. I won't bore you with the details of housework. LOL Moses and I did go for a walk this afternoon. We also went to HD when the Dh got off from work. I needed some rooting hormone and vermiculite. I decided to try to root a couple of things before the cold gets them.

Andy, I know you'll enjoy that bike ... and just think, because it's so nice you'll have it a long long time.

d to make an appointment for me in early Nov. Said is should come in sooner. I wrote back explaining that I had the problem three months ago when I saw my doctor and he said to return in early Nov. Also I'm "traveling" (I'm not supposed to live in Mexico) and can't be there sooner. Since it now the weekend. I think I'm thoroughly messed up.

My arm is still sore - not horribly but almost constantly. Painkillers help but I don't like to take so many.

Max the new dog has settled in well except for hasing and barking at the new cat.

I got most of the laundry done. Still have a pile of dishes to wash. Not getting ahead but at least I'm not falling farther behind.

Diane, I'm glad you're feeling better. As other have said, do not apologize for venting here. I love it when I have company. I have a hard time sleeping well with this sore arm and I get irritable and have trouble thinking clearly.

Well, I have been down for t days! Sick, not so cool...but today, I am feeling better, was having sever pain on the right side of my face. (probably from my teeth!)
...Yesterday was Alissa birthday, stayed up just long enough to say Happy Birthday and was out like a light!
Helped Sabrina with a really fun photo shoot, if anything we just enjoy sharing ideas and time together. Painted more shelves for Julia, and going to put a light under her butt to get the room done! LOLOL...Jake had a game last night, they lost, must be 'cuz mom didn't go, lol. He is excited football will be over soon and Wrestling season begins!!

Steve has been crazy busy, trying to finish up on the one house and move on to the next...I did a beautiful sketch of what i thought would be a beautiful entrance, but he put a kabosh on it...Oh well. He did like part of it though, sigh. So far all the trees, shrubs and weeds are gone from the face of the house...This week will concentrate on getting all the boulders, flagstone and other brick & the like in one place...It's sort of all over and some will need to be dug out.

Am very excited to report, I have been asked to create a baby blanket for Brittany. lol, I was going to anyway, but she has asked if I would make one using some of Brian's favorite shirts and T's!! Said I'ld be honored.

Well, i better get back to my yard, yanked a tone of weeds from the Jungle, now got to get them bagged...
