Whoa! That's great, Memory! Very smart of you too...I'm sure Sampson means much more to you than the gold!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

His "dad" and I did Tag Sales every Saturday morning and I bought most of the pieces that I sold when we were together so that makes it even better.

Thomaston, CT

Oh, that's sweet, Memory...Loved the terrier playing ball....I miss my terrier's nuttiness.....got to play with Doug's niece's collie this weekend....I'm holding a stuffed moose he wants!

That pretty boy has a real gleam in his eye.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

My first dog as a child was a collie - incredibly smart and lovely dog. My Dad trained her to go around to each of our bedrooms and wake us up for school on his command. She would quietly put her head on the bed and stare at you until you woke up; then she would move on to the next bedroom. My Dad adored her, and he died not long after she died. She lived a very long life for a big dog.

That's nice, Marilyn, that you had a nice visit and got to play with a nice dog as well.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, I enjoyed it....and Louise, that collie came from East Swanzey....not too far from you....his name is Ritz, and he, too, is a real smarty....very good-natured as well....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Cool, Marilyn! That's virtually next door!

Thomaston, CT

Yes....they were lucky to find it...no one had a tricolor at the time they were looking....

I love collies! I want a smooth coated one so I don't have to deal with the hair...after Wall-e is gone I getting a dog that DOESN'T shed!!!!!!!!!

Thomaston, CT

My short haired dog sheds constantly.....that's one reason I liked my dale....

Thomaston, CT

My niece just sent me photos of the 7 month old Maine Coon they adopted from Lollipop Farm...his name is Faraday, & he's a beauty!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Ohhh - I want to see pictures!

Thomaston, CT

They are on my email....how would I transfer them? Also, I went to take some photos this morning....my camera said "card locked"...does that mean I need a new memory card? Help!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

(depends on how they sent the pics, in an attachment or shown as a pic on the e-mail)You can copy them from the email and paste them to your picture files in your computer. or if an attachement instead of opening file save it as a jpeg to your picture files
You need to get all your pics off your memory card by downloading them to your computer also

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

So Wall-e is laying on the floor and jumps up and starts sniffing, I was like "what's the matter?" Then I see this tiny spider so say to him "get it" but he just looks at it, so I say it again and he backs up "oh for pete's sake" I go to squish it and he runs into his kennel and only comes out after I say "ok, it's dead"
So much for being a tough German Shepherd

Thomaston, CT

Jen, that's a riot! Glad he didn't eat it.....I don't know why my memory card is locked...it has no images on it....and the photos were sent on the email, not as an attachment....I'm afraid I'm not computer literate....maybe I can get my DIL to do it for me!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ohhhhh.....hmmmmmm.....what kind of camera?

Easier if pics was just on the e-mail, right click on the pic and select 'copy' then open your computer picture file and right click 'paste'

Good news - Jack, the cat that was lost by American Airlines at JFK the day of Hurricaine Irene has been found alive and a little worse for wear. I hope his people DON'T send him home by American Airlines!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Where did they finally find him?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

In the customs building.

South Hamilton, MA

Trying to catch an overseas flight? Hope the building is minus some rodents.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Robin, I want to see pictures too!
Jen, thats too funny about Wall-e! :)
Yank, I'm glad they found the cat but GEEZ! POOR KITTY!!!

Thomaston, CT

Good news about the cat....they are survivors....will try what Jan is telling me to do.

Thomaston, CT

I took a photo of Faraday on the computer because I couldn't follow Jen's directions....here he is...

Oooo - handsome! Jack the cat is suffering from Fatty Liver Disease. It happens to overweight cats who are cut off from food - he was starving. It can be reversed and it is expected that Jack will recover.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

good news!

Faraday is purrrrdy. Does he know any animals named Maxwell?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

pretty kitty

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful!

Thomaston, CT

Is that name from a book, Rosemary? My niece's husband is creative with names.....

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Faraday's ideas were developed into Maxwell's equations, or was it the other way around? Maybe hubby is an engineer or a physicist.

Thomaston, CT

Eric graduated from MIT, then went onto U of Virginia Medical School, & then went to Minnesota for pathology....originally from Camden, ME.....anyway, he lost his Maine Coon in July, so I'm happy he has another....my niece never had a Maxwell, but my late DH & I did....he was a large orange tom......

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I like formal names for animals, so they're all cute to me. I've known a Ralph the cat, too. I've known a Beagle named Darwin, not owned by a biologist either. Anyone who went to MIT surely studied Faraday's work.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

It thought it funny that this attitude you see here is in a creature (Clifford) that just sat down right where I was digging this weekend. Remember? It was still a little warm then.

Good thing I dont own a gun or I would have dog parts/brains scattered all over my house right now. After over a week of not getting sleep, I am going down to the vets to sign the papers today. When Jim gets home he will have to take care of the matter. I have had enough.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Sleep is precious. I hope you get some rest soon, Sherrie, and that your dog doesn't suffer.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sorry to hear that Sherrie

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sorry Sherrie. :(

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I put this here on the thread before, but i think with all the pets leaving us it warrants another run. They look to us to be merciful and not let them suffer, so here's to you Sherrie for doing whats right for your pet no matter how much it breaks your heart. (((((Hugs Sherrie)))))

A Dog's Prayer
Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of mine.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

Keep my pan filled with water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side and stand ready, willing, and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And my friend, when I am very old and no longer able to enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I shall leave this Earth knowing with the last breath I draw, that my fate was always safest in your hands...

I will always be your BEST FRIEND.
