I am thankful for a great partner who helps me with so much, big and small.
This morning I assumed he'd already fed the kitties when I got up so I got my cereal and poured the milk. Right after, our starvin' marvins informed me in very loud meow's that they indeed had not been fed and demanded breakfast ASAP. DH paused his morning exercise to come down and feed them so my cereal wouldn't get soggy. Who could ask for a more caring person? :-)

Today, I am thankful for...#8
Does he have a brother ?
Two brothers? :-)
Ha! Too late! I got the brother. ^_^
I will tell him his brothers are in demand :-)
Tam
I'm always a day late and a dollar short . Congrats to you both , PRICELESS !!!
Yup :D
Today, I am thankful for:
Repeated reminders of what I forgot is coming up tomorrow. Forgot the event, then forgot the reminders. Until got it the third time. LOL
Gazpacho
Bill Cosby's "Chocolate Cake" routine
PJ was thrilled to have cake for breakfast. He declared me "Nadine, the Kitchen Queen." Then, he found out it was surgar-free and very low cal as such things go. It was Lemon Velvet. Do you think it's possible to make a healthy chocolate cake? I bet I could slip that passed his healthy food avoidance system.

Today, I am thankful for friends who are generous with their daylilies and deceptively healthy food. ~N~
grateful for the last watermelons of the season (yum!), heating/cooking with the sun, and North Indian restaurants.
Sansai - depending on what is meant be " healthy" I posted a healthy choc cake recipe a while back from Eating well magazine. Not low on fat but high on choc and not a lot of flour and medium sugar. Low cal too for such a rich taste!
I can look up the link if you are interested.
I am thankful to be almost done with work. TGIF

Tam, yes, please, give us the link. That would be fun. :-)

Leftovers for me tonight. Finished up the last of the veggie lasagna & had a small helping of cabbage & pork from last night. (I was hungry - had just an apple and a couple brazil nuts for lunch. Spent the time working out instead.)

Today I'm so very, very thankful with my growing relationship with my 33 yr old stepdaughter.
Rob and I got married 12 yrs ago and it has been the desire of my heart to have a close relationship
with Beeka all these years. By the Lords mercy and grace that had been happening in the last few year.
Thank you Jesus,
Sylvia

Today I am thankful for the beauty of a fall day! It was glorious - blue sky, low 70s... just a perfect day. And I think tomorrow will be another such day. I am thankful to have time tomorrow to enjoy it all.

Today, I'm thankful for warmer days after the rainy ones. I can now get out and plant some things in the new beds.
Grateful for crockpots, dogs that are okay getting a bath, and the last watermelons of the season.
Thankful for a good night's sleep and waking feeling refreshed. Thankful that I'm almost through with the remodel of our rental mobile home and the people can move in the first of the week and I can get ready to make the trip to Texas for the winter .
Thankful my back held up long enough to get this job done .
Thankful that altho I can't get down on my knees to cut linoleum in , I can bend over and do it standing up.
Not bad for 73 yrs old, huh?
:-D
Thankful for the moisture Tex is getting and for my trees at the coast that are getting rain too
Thankful I don't have to cook tonight . D H is attending an Eagle Badge presentation that the grandson earned . I don't know what he's bringing for dinner , but I'm gonna love it . Chinese buffet again tomorrow . I'm in hog heaven .
Thankful that:
All six of my very first own-ly own eBay listings have/are going to sell. :D
I was able to restrain myself from ordering delivery pizza. It was tough, mind you, all dang day, but I did it. :-)
Yesterday, I did laundry and pulled/wrapped daylilies I'm sharing. So I didn't have to do anything today. :p
Thanks, Tammy. Chocolate cravings are a diet downfall for me.
Impressive, Digger. Not sure I'll still be flexible enough to touch the floor a decade from now, but it is something to shoot for since I now know it is possible. :-)
I am thankful for rain too. I didn't realize how lucky I was in this immediate area. I've been talking to local farmers and fishermen for something I'm writing and discovered I live in "one of those little oasis places." One of those regional micro-climates where topography and local weather patterns mean I get more rain than surrounding areas do. Fishermen are talking about record lows in the lakes and rivers and farmers talk of how far below average annual rainfall we are. I've noticed before our river valley stays a little cooler than the surrounding area (our azaleas bloom two weeks behind the norm.), but I had never noted the difference in rainfall. k*
Kudzu , I rest an elbow on my left knee and stretch out my right leg and foot , work with my right hand .Awkward , but it works for me . I can stand , legs together and put my hands flat on the floor .I weigh 240 . Those are the only things I can make my body do , but at least I haven't lost that . The only vice I have left is smoking . ROFLMAO .
Micro climate is , Priceless .
I am grateful for yet another beautiful day. And for a nice relaxing morning today. I was able to skip my workout without guilt as I'd exhausted myself working on weeding and cleaning out the vegetable garden.
tam
If that isn't a workout , I don't know what else to call it !
Oops. didn't say that was yesterday. Today - nursing some sore muscles!
Poor kid .
I certainly prefer getting sore muscles while accomplishing more than just improving my own health. The place looks so much better for the work I did this weekend. And congratulations on the flooring job!
Tam
Thanks , and isn't that the truth , getting something done for the effort .
I am thankful today for...
...all the change I found in the bottom of my purse.
...Nelson Cruz.
...lending libraries.
Home again home again, jiggedy jig. Got back from Cincinnati last week and really enjoyed their cool weather (DD pronounced it "freezing" when it got below 60) then came home to a day of rain and the high of 53, low 43 on Wed. Great!!! My niece's wedding was beautiful and now my sister can rest, she was the proverbial basket case. Unusual for our family, she had been forgetting to eat in Sept what with final wedding plans and her being back at school (as middle school special ed). Her gorgeous dress was taken in twice and the day of the wedding, before the ceremony, she turned around and the dress did not. She was afraid to let go of it while dancing! Daddy had a blast dancing with his girls, espeically the twist. At 84 he can almost get down to the ground like he did at my wedding 20 years ago!!
Here is a family picture:
From let to right- sister Laura (#3 daughter) sister Tamra (red hair - the baby) niece Sarah (#3's oldest) Daddy, MofTB-sister Debbie (#2 daughter) niece Eden (#3's second oldest) and myself (the old one)
Wish we could put more than one in at a time, like the 'C' place.
what a beautiful family!
Good looking family and Daddy's no throwaway . Beautiful eyes and smile .
Beautiful family and picture. Love how happy everyone is.
thankful for rain, tired & happy puppies, electrical alarm clocks that don;t tick-tock.
Everyone looks genuinely happy. :-). And what a GORGEOUS blue dress! Glad you went and glad you are home safe.
Beautiful family, yep daddy is a keeper!
Today I am thankful for smoke detectors. I turned off the burners on the stove and left to go into another room, then 3 smoke detectors went off. I went back into kitchen to discover I had a paper towel on top of stove and it caught fire. Flames shooting up, but didn't panic just threw a wet dish cloth on it and fire went out. A few things were blackened, but so thankful I was warned. Also discovered one in my office was very weak so now I'll put in a new battery.
Wow, scary! Glad you caught it in time and didn't panic. My mother died in a fire and that idea is really spooky. So why is my detector sitting on the dining room table you ask? :p 'Cause everytime I use my oven, it goes off. Last time, I took it down and left it "until later." I gotta get off my lazy duff and put it back up. :/ Thank you, Pegi!
