Today, I am thankful for:

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Hand tools

Clipboards

(Zone 7a)

Today, it's do-it-yourself projects. I'm grateful DH and I can install a toilet with little or no arguing.

(Debra) Garland, TX

kwan, that is an accomplishment. I stayed far, far away when my former husband took to the tools. :-)

==============================================

Today i am thankful for

Large plant containers on clearance

Enough bags of soil left stored under the carport to fill them both

Finding Just Joey roses open this morning. Hadn't even registered before that there were new buds on it. :p

SE/Gulf Coast Plains, AL(Zone 8b)

LOL, Debra. I had just popped a mini Reeses's Cup into my mouth when I read your post. It made me sit back an really take the time to enjoy it.
Today, I am thankful for a new pair of wireless headphones for my computer. I can walk around the house now while the computer reads an article or whatever to me.
I am also thankful a gardenia bush produced one last surprise bloom. It is like a good-by kiss from summer. k*

(Zone 7a)

Ahhhhhh...chocolat...J'aime comment vous dégustez.

Today I'm thankful my boss took the day off so I have extra time I would otherwise have spent preparing for and attending his meetings. I'm on vacation the rest of the week and a few extra hours to prepare for that is wonderful!

Thank you, Vicki

Tam, I hear ya.

Kay, savor-savor.

Sally, pressure cookers are wondermous, ain't they?
===================================================

Today I am thankful that most mosquito bites only itch for a few hours. Got forty-'leven around my ankles this evening packing up a box of Iris and Daylilies.

I am thankful for Popsicle sticks

I am thankful to have planted half dozen of the daylilies waiting in boxes. Some were getting pretty dried out!

Dahlonega, GA

Debra , I've gotten five of them , different sizes , at garage sales and put them in working order with new gaskets , etc. Some women collect shoes , I like pressure cookers .lol

somewhere, PA

OK. There is so much I am thankful for in my life but mosquitoes are just not amongst them! I swear every time I go out to the garden these days I get a bazillion bites too. But I am thankful that today I'm on vacation the rest of the week!

Tam

(Debra) Garland, TX

Tam, me neither either! But if I can't avoid them, I am happy they don't itch as long as chigger bites do. ICK! LOL

(Zone 7a)

A friend of mine in AR got into a patch of chiggers the other day. She was miserable.

I'm thankful the mosquito popluation at our house was low this year and that we don't have chiggers in the city.

Shawnee Mission, KS(Zone 6a)

Debra Sorry to hear about Russell.

Grateful for hotel rooms with a view of tops of trees in the hotels courtyard, quiet rooms, and for friends choice in restaurants.

DH was in training in St Louis the first part of this week. We went over early and spent the weekend sight seeing. Saturday night we had dinner with long time friends of his. They took us to a place called Masa's. Outdoor seating was like sitting in someone's garden. Lot's of beautiful flowers and plantings.

(Debra) Garland, TX

Thank you, Susan.

Today I am thankful for

pre-shredded carrots.

responsive vets

being able to take off tomorrow (contractors coming back to finish up burglary damage repair). supposed to be a lovely cool day and if they finish early enough i might have an afternoon to play. :-)

Midland City, AL

I am thankful today for a job that allows me to make my own schedule and cooler weather. That we have fewer tropical plants than we once did and that we've finished getting those few protected from the predicted 43 degree nighttime lows this weekend. Last, but not least, large plant pots that have wheels. ~N~

(Debra) Garland, TX

43 degrees? In south Alabama? Only the first of October? What is the world coming to... :-D

(Debra) Garland, TX

today i am thankful for

true-ly blue bearded iris

true-ly pickled jalapeno peppers

true-ly clean, unscratched, correctly fitted, straight, CHEAP bifocal eyeglasses

(Zone 7a)

Bifocals are a miracle. Don't know what I'd do without mine!

Today, I'm thankful for Ibuprofin, tissues with lotion in them and Ricola cough drops. Yup, I have a cold. Yuck.

Shawnee Mission, KS(Zone 6a)

Grateful for Ruby Red Grapefruit yogurt at Yogurtini, freindly neighbors, and a dog who loves people.

Dahlonega, GA

42° here , this morning Debra . Wonder what Cando 's temp is .
Thankful for cool days , finally.

(Debra) Garland, TX

Lets ask. Viiiiiiiiccckkki? Where you at?

(Debra) Garland, TX

Today, I am thankful to have finished lining the Egg Bed and getting it planted with Iris, Daylilies, and one tall Dianthus.

I am thankful to have cleared out and planted or potted all the Daylilies still waiting in boxes on the front porch.

I am thankful to have muscle relaxers--because tomorrow, I'm going to need them. :p

Edited to correct spelling.

Thankful for d mail

(Zone 7a)

There's a place called Capt. D's??? LOL

Here's my Capt. D! (Darrell)

Thumbnail by kwanjin
Dahlonega, GA

Cute ,kwanjin ,that has to be a river . which one and is that a flare gun or what ? Can't see enough of it . What does your cap do? That looks like a serious boat .We have a franchise in this area called Cap. D's . It's fish and seafood . Not too good but for fast food , it will fill a hole .

(Zone 7a)

If you click on the pic, you can see the whole thing.

My brother lives in OR near the Willamette River. This was his gift to us for our anniversary when we went to visit him in 2008. Dinner on a riverboat. The actual Capt. let us steer the boat and we got to play with some of his stuff.

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

Kwan, What a great gift. Someday I will visit Oregon. I want to see that wild coast and all the iris farms.
Sally, We have Long John Silvers. I go there almost everytime i go to Russellville.Love their fish and chips.
I've found out Scoot does not like men. My SIL came down and Scoot would not go near him and animals usually love him. We'll gradually get him together with SIL.
Debra, Started to ask you what an egg bed is--Than looked at the picture. Duh!!!
Vickies weather has been perfect.cool. Fact is I've been working outside and collapsing at night. Today worked inside.Took the kitchen apart and cleaned. Will have to put it together again tomorrow. My knees will protest and giveway and i'll be sitting for a few days again.Oh well it was fun.
Been spending early nights stargazing. It's amazing how much space junk is floating around up there(as in satelites)

Dahlonega, GA

Weather here was cool last night 40° this morning .
Scoot was afraid of Johnny at first , must have been a man that abused him . With walking him and lots of petting , he came around and I was beginning to think he was leaning towards being Johnnys dog . I'm so thankful that he didn't form too strong a bond with us to traumatise him when we disappeared from his life .His personality changed so much the three months we had him . For instance , at first , when a car came in the driveway , he would stay way back in the shrubs , in the yard ,scared, while my other dogs would bark ( from the fenced porch ). Then later , he would run to meet them as they got out of the car , He thought every car that went down the road was going to turn in here .Then , he decided this was his home to protect , and started standing back and barking, "Strangers Mom , come look!" When my Westie escaped from the porch , he would hit the back property and Scoot would join him for the run . Scoot always left him to run and come right back to the porch in two minutes . Scoot learned to open the gate , coming and going the first month and the westie just two days ago learned how to open it to go out .If Rusty tried to chase a car from his leash , Scoot would always stop when I hollered "NO" Rusty minds good when he's close , to "No , Wait , Sit .Down, and a few minor others " but I just can't trust him to stop and come when he's off leash . I got woke up this morning with Rusty on my chest , gently and a kiss , to," Come on MOM , I gotta go Pee !"
I love my furbabies . My chihuahua,Pepper , doesn't want the other two to play . He thinks he's a pit bull . Gracie , my heart is trying to play with Rustie , but has to put him in his place when he gets too rough . I would love to get Rusty and Scoot together again for a few hours , they were such big buddies . Maybe next year Love You and Vicky , I'm blessed to know both of you

(Debra) Garland, TX

Sally, do you have pictures you can share here?

Been half-heartedly looking at shelter and rescue dogs. House is so empty without Russell, even with the other two dogs. Talked to the vet and she thinks a third dog might be good. I think it might be best, though, to give us three some time to readjust. See how we all do.

Today, I am thankful for:

Successfully putting up my very first eBay listings for my ownself. Paperweights. Our company has more than 150,000 individual eBay sales over the last 12 years, but that's mostly electronics. I've never done anything with my own account beyond buying. One got a bid right after I put it up. HeyHey! :-) They have old descriptions, since Russell was still alive when written. Didn't change because the reason I'm listing is the same. I just lost him faster than we all thought I would. :/

This is Pepper , my pit bull. He looks harmless , but just start trying to groom him or let the other dogs try to play . He tries to keep them straight . Does a pretty good job .
