Yes it is, if you're in China and Taiwan.
In Hong Kong, it was Cantonese until the British returned it to PRC.
In Singapore, Chinese dialects are spoken.. like Teochew, Hakka, Cantonese and Hainanese. Mandarin is used in schools as second language.

You all have a good day today!
Morning Jaye, thanks for the breakfast!
Good Morning!!
Sue how you feeling girl?
Hey Guys! I'm here...Dad is struggling. I thought he was doing better then today he said he didn't think he could stay on his own.....
Thanks to LK and Bertie, I reached my goal for the JDRF Walk for a Cure. Jordyn had at least 65 people there for her. I stopped counting then, so there were probably more than that.
Cookie, so sorry to hear about your Dad--I know this must be so hard for him after such a long happy marriage. Prayers continuing.
How are is your leg doing?
Joyce - you're in my prayers - obviously your dad is struggling with the loss of his wife, and bless you for looking after him....... God has given you strength!!
Hey Marion, so nice to see you pop in! How is everyone doing? Are you back home!
Cookie, nice to see you too! Sorry to hear about your Dad.
I got home last night--still exhausted. I am thinking I am getting to old to drive that trip straight through without stops! LOL
Had cooler chest full of vegetables and wanted to get home to take care of them before they spoiled. Actually my sister had ordered them through Farm Bureau and they were frozen---still were when I got home. Thank goodness.
Glad your back home, get some rest!
Cookie, we know you'll be there for your dad. As the sistahs said, it's difficult to adjust having lost your mate who had been with you for more than 50 years. We'll continue to pray for him and you too.
Sorry, I wish I could contribute this year. Glad that you managed to reach your goal.
Cookie, once things settle down, can you open a Facebook account? Please add LK or me.
Missing you on the Sweet Interruptions Sistahs group there which we'd started not too long ago.
Welcome home Marion!! Isn't Farm Bureau a life insurance company? That's what it is in Louisiana!
Rest well Marion, we'll be here or there and there ! lol
Did the Wednesday night Power Prayer and sure have a lot of things to be thankful for. For one, I thank the Lord for my sistahs!
Goodnight sistahs.
During my prayer hour I was studying the United Church of Canada remit - it explains what our Doctrine and Creed are, and what the Church wants to add to it.
I know that's not specifically praying, but as it's about How we believe in God, I think it will do as I'm most assuredly thinking of all those who believe in our Most Holy Lord.
Rest assured, I do pray fervently for our dear sistahs who are in need - whether they know it or not......
Me too. I'm glad we started the 9pm Wed prayers. I try to do it every night but don't always make it at 9 pm. Some nights it's a bit early and some a bit late but it's every day!!!!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! How about some cheesy biscuits for breakfast.
Morning--thanks for the biscuits LK.
Jaye, yes, Farm Bureau is also an insurance group but they have various benefits one of which is buying foods. Sue and Mom have been ordering cheese from them for more years than I care to remember. Great cheese at that! They offer vegetables, meats, fish and other products. So this time I ordered some speckled butter beans, mustard, mixed vegetables, field peas and cheese. Sue is ordering me some pull pork and chicken next month. Both are excellent and in sizes that are prefect for me and Kim.
Our weather is so pleasant right now!!! Makes it hard to stay inside and do what is needed. My flower beds are calling my name so loudly that I just had to go outside. So see you later.....................
Hugs for ALL my sistahs here, even Crissy!!!
Giving thanks to the Lord for LK's cheese biscuits! I miss those at Red Lobster.
It stormed bad last night. Felt like an hour of lightning and thunder. The kitties I have indoors were fighting for window seat fascinated with the light display.
We're supposed to have clear days right through the weekend. Hope so, as I wouldn't want the satellite to go out during the important games Saturday!
Wooohooooo!!! I can't believe it will soon be 6 months that Kel had started on his new career.
Have a good day sistahs!! I'm gonna try to do a Barb/Thunder today :D

I've been in a big downer mode, on myself..but today, decided to get over it!! LOL, the sun is finally emerging and yesterday got quite the kiss for a minute.
I was in heaven.
Sue, OMG, you are indeed Brave to eat Chucky Cheese, er and yiye! lol...sorry it made ya sick, hope you are feeling much better today.

Joyce, Hi, so glad to see you...Keeping you in thoughts and prayers.
Marion!! Glad your home again, awe now I'm tickled purple-lol (not pink) that you will have a nice day to work outside. Gardens are screaming for help here too.
It's been raining for Days and all i can do is dream...I splurged and bought some spring bulbs!! Tulips, Alliums and Asiatic Lillies... As soon as Going to get them in the ground, and i am going to be a Smart gardener and Fence them in! Hear that critters? OH my, think of you and Jaye and all your kitties!! Remember my neighbor cat? Well, he's been busy because now i have two adorable little kittens added to the critter zoo! One is black and white and the other is grey with white boots...Sigh, they live behind my shed somewhere.
Well, just wanted to come say hi and let you all know, things are ok.
Think of you all the time.
Hope your keeping dry and warm, I'm freezing at the moment! So going to get a big cup of warm tea...OH Jaye, lol you sparked a reading binge, lol I've read 2 of the People books and now re-reading people of the Moon!
See you.
Hey Judy, so nice to see you posting! Sorry you have been feeling down, but all you had to do was come here, we will cheer you up, and give you lots of armwraps!!!
Jaye, I cheat with my biscuits. Place your biscuits in the oven and cook them as usual, then cut them in half, place them back on the baking sheet, spread some butter on each half, then place sliced some cheese on each half. I use extra sharp cheddar. Put them back in the oven on broil, just long enough to melt the cheese a bit. YUM!!!! But don't leave the oven too long, or they will get crispy really fast. If you don't like cheese, you can also do the same with a bit of sugar and cinnamon.
Marion, how wonderful you have a Farm Bureau that does that too!
I just got to share this with you. Keep in mind that I'm not born here so, can be very ignorant on American stuffs the first few years.
Ex and I bought a piece of property, in Ville Platte. Out of that 8 acres, around one acre in the corner is very low grounds. Since ex was overseas and left me in charge, I agreed to hire someone to make a pond.
The guy then told me that the town's farm bureau will give us free fish for stocking up ponds.
Stupid me, looked up the phone book and called up FARM BUREAU!!! You should have listened to me bickering back and forth with an agent there! It went something like this...
Me: Farm Bureau?
Agent: Yes
Me: Do you have any fish?
Agent: What?
Me: Do you have any fish?
Agent: M'am, who are you trying to call?
Me: Isn't this the farm bureau?
Agent: Yes m'am, but we don't specialise in fish (I hear sarcasm in his voice)
Me: What's up with that? I've been told you supply fish for stock ups!! (at ths point I was getting irate)
Agent: You need to call the County Farm Bureau, we stock up insurance!!
Well, I did apologise and he thought it was funny!!
Crissy, he's liking the benefits for sure. I kept telling him, it's ironic that he's brave enough to be a prison guard with all those fellons, but can't tell his mother off when he should!! lol!
Sis Judy.. be careful with those kitties. In a few months' time, you might be a grandma, unless they're fixed!
I love oriental and asiatics too! They're not divas like some other flowers.
Plus the blooms smell so good.
Thanks LK! I'll do that next time. Kel loves to melt cheese on his biscuits in the microwave.
Oh Jaye, I can just hear that conversation when you hung up! LOL! I know it was not funny at the time to you!
Thank you Linda Kay!! Oh my gosh, those cheesy biscuits sound so yummy!!
Oh that is a funny story Jaye.
Well about the kitties, I don't feed them so they only hang around once in a while...And i haven't been feeding the birds because of the cat stalkers so i haven't seen them hunting either, which is fine by me...
Jaye LOL!!!!
siiiiiiiigh - "never rains, but it pours!"
Remember in July that Bob got his truck hit (no injuries) and it took forever to get the other party to own up and make things right? They'd cancelled their insurance, btw...... A police officer called them, and got them to admit to the accident. Our insurance co talked to their insurance co and theirs agreed to pay for the repair (and Bob's credit card# is given to the rental company for the truck they gave him to use (not taken from his account, just "held"). Once he was told he had the "go-ahead" with the insurance to get the truck fixed, he took it in last Tues. It's now fixed and he can have his truck back BUT they want $500 deductible first!!! Our insurance co is calling the officer and IF he says it's the other person's fault then they'll waive the deductible. They want the rental truck back because it's been sold and they will give him a "grace period" until tomorrow end-of-day to come up with the $500 or get it waived.
ARGHHHHHHHHH!!
Here's an angel for ya - our neighbour (who really doesn't know us all that well) has said "speak to me about this tomorrow am" and he'll likely lend us the $500 to get Bob's truck out of the repair co. I only hope the officer is not "on days-off"! They will reimburse as soon as they hear from the officer.........
Susan I don't know about up there, but here you go to the police dept and get a copy of the actual report and fax it to both insurance companies, that tells whose at fault and who isn't then there is no problem nor any question.
We gave the police report (we went to them 3 weeks after the fact, because the other driver was going to pay for everything and then ducked out - which is why we involved the police) to our insurance co, and it listed their insurance co. So neither insurance companies had spoken to the police, but ours has our statement, and he spoke to the other driver's uncle (whose car it is - and IT got repaired right away!).
That always happens with wrecks, always get a police on scene whether the other party wants to or not, if they don't want a police report there's a reason, a bad reason. Huh, here it's not up to the police to contact the insurance company, it's up to the party insured to call the insurance company and file a claim. They probably lied and filed a hit and run claim.
They were the hitters..... and here you don't have to file with the police when you bring in a damaged vehicle if it's under a certain $$ amount - $2,000 I believe. BUT (and here's the problem) they not only didn't file a police claim, but they admitted to the police when they were called that it was their fault and they'd already cancelled their insurance!! Their insurance company would have a difficult time getting the $$ from them. However, it's THEIR fault/responsibility, not ours!
I understand whose fault it is, but with a police report taken at the collision site their insurance would have to cover it because they were insured as of that specific date. You don't have to file here either, but to get the insurance company to actually do something it's always better to have a police report, that way there is no question of when it happened or whose fault it was. I'm glad they admitted it, most people at fault don't even do that.

Guess the insurance company required an official report.
Ex was involved in a hit and run. Totaled the car, and thank God he used his brains to immediately call the cops. That official statement helped us with our insurance claim.
Most insurance companies do require a written police report, otherwise it's all he said she said.
No police were called, but when we went to the Police Station they called the other driver's family and it was said to them that it was the other driver's fault.
We're waiting to see if the police officer is in the office today and can give their statement as to fault.
Sorry your getting the run around Susan. Hopefully you can get the report you need.
feeling much better
spent day with my oldest
just not a good scenorio
poor thing. took her for a girl check up and well..... when we act naughty we pay a price for that fun. she was pretty upset but i told her , " be glad its not anything worse ! "
so back to the dr tomorrow for some other things. no she is not pregnant. thank GOD !
poor thing she smelled do bad , i had to keep the windows down and the a/c blasting in my face.
i just want ot help her and she just refuses !
so on tuesday i go and clean her apt. i have to do that every tuesday. or she will live in filth ... garbage in her bed. dishes piled collecting mold. clothes dirty and nasty. i think some crawled away ? !
so i eat. uhg.
ok tonight is raining
Judy so glad to see you girl. sorry your being down. but glad your on the rise. i take vit D
good to have you back Marion
Cookie i will soon be over on sat. i m sorry to hear of your dad . T&P for him.
Sue - poor thing?!?!?! she lives in filth, has "woman troubles" (because of sleeping around?!), and she's refusing help. She smells to High Heaven....... and even her clothes and dishes are nasty and moldy......
Sounds like she's in a depression - how long has this been going on? Oh, and why are you cleaning up for her? If her apartment is getting so bad between Tuesdays, she's obviously doing this herself......
Okay...... mixed messages from me here - wondering why you're helping someone old enuff to have her own apartment, and feeling for her as she's obviously depressed.........
I pray for her, and you m'dear!!
Been praying for her Sue. But God answers in His own time, and you shouldn't feel guilty with her behaviour (the sloth). As you said, she inherited a bunch of negative mental illness from her dad. So she can't think right like you and I. I know.. you're being a typical mama, want to pick up the 'slack' but sometimes, you can't. She won't heal if you're the enabler, and she won't heal if she doesn't take her meds. So..you're at a loss huh? (((((((((((((((((SUE)))))))))))))))))))))))
Susan, hope you got positive results today!
Crissy, who are the Hogs playing today?
I'll return soon... got to do some official business errands!! Coffee is on, bagels today!!
Have a good day everyone...
