Best - helping a friend today
Worst has now become another "best" - I just got a call from Brent re: job - he and his partner both agree they need to have me working there, but it likely won't be until Thursday that Brent & I can meet. He likely has to go to Edmonton to "find" a shipment that went "missing"..............
Learned - I should be more patient when nervous new company owners don't get back to me right away....... !!
Best/worse/what did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Morning all, I've so enjoyed the night shift gab, going to save my chit chat for work as it will be a quiet day..have my bag packed with craft projects. Lol
But now that we have put into words out thoughts of the day and I missed the night shift, will do same....
Best...of course seeing Suse on the thread..sure made my day
WORSE...That's an easy one, Suzanne told me her daughter is pregnant for the second time. Unmarried!!
What did I learn...this young lady 25 is drop dead gorgeous, just finished a nursing program, separated from her child's father, he's facing major charges. Ie rape, just lost his high paying job, they've been co parenting now for a few months...long story short, the were more than co-parenting and going to for help re his anger issues...now going to get together...the learn part is how do intelligent young women get into such a mess..they've plenty of brains but you. Just can't talk reason to them..
Good morning to all.
Coffee is on.
Hello to Susan 101
Just a short note....my mother past away Monday evening so I will be gone for a few days.
She has been ill and went peacfully in her sleep.
Trying to get family toghether from as far away as Hawaii.
Laura I am so sorry for you loss. Please know I will be right next to you offering whatever support and comfort I can give you - so if you feel a hug, that was me.
Dianne
Omg Laura, heart is breaking knowing what you must be going through! Condolences go to you and your family..sending hugs and prayers along with Dianne's...did your mom live nearby or will yo have to travel?
I'm so sorry Laura, I will keep you and your family in my prayers and hold you close in my heart.
Laura, I am so very sorry for your families loss......Will be right there with the others to offer support as you need. Such a hard thing to deal with.
Debbie
Morning everyone!
Laura so sorry to hear about your Mom! Sending lots of thoughts and prayers!
Just checking in this morning ...
Laura, so sorry for your loss. Please know you and your family will be in my heart and prayers during this difficult time.
Betty, shaking my head ... Sad situation for sure ...
Best so far is seeing I have so many friends here ... ☺
Worse is I have to vacuum today. LOL
Today is a busy day so will BBL.
~Suse
Suse, you haven't taught Moses how to vaccum yet? Well, Izzy is slacking on that issue also...but she sure does shed enough to give the vac a good workout.
If you two learn how to get the doggies vacuuming, please let me know how..drats, Sailor is now almost bald from pulling out her hair and yet I'm finding hair all over..
About every 3 or 4 days I'm using the carpet washer to do the carpet in the living room..few white squares in it and must say she's either dribbling or something is escaping her body because it looks terrible on the rug. Love the checkerboard look and I've done the floormat for under the table to match but think I have to replace the rug..just too much work!
Suse, loved the photo of Moses, didn't realize that you've a new puppie!!! Bet having a pup keeps you busy...what a great job DH did on the tomato cages..do you find you've a better crop? lol be glad you have a hubby..sometimes I so miss those annoying times..great if you can zone him out and enjoy yourself..headphones certainly are a help. Enjoyed reading what you are thankful for..so many times we see the negative side of things when we should be seeing the positives..
Speaking of dogs, Koors is now home, Sharon sent me a photo..got to say I don't think I would have had him operated on..sad sight!
Good Morning...
Laura, So very sorry for your Loss. My prayers go up for you and your and Family.
Also, For Joyce/Cookie, my Sunshine. So very sorry to hear your mom has passed, but so very glad you were with her.
For you Both, may you feel the strength of their love continue in your heart.
Mary!! So glad you got to continue working with that whooping cough, I hope you get over it soon! Oh so glad you are close to figuring out the issue at work, lol sounds a might crazy...Yay and the Whirligig goes on!!
Susan I hope you will enjoy the story! Also, crossing fingers for you to get the job...
Waiving Hiya Bev!! Awe, now you look great in short hair, thanks for sharing a picture. OMG, back working in the garden, you must be in your glory with that!
Dianne, You know I sure enjoy your walks with Mary...Wow, how wonderful that Warren has been feeling so much better. I pray this continues.
Yikes, very chilly here too, actually closed my windows! But i hope your morning walk is wonderful.
OH Suse!! Welcome Back! As soon as i saw your Tomato plants i remembered right away!! Oh Moses is most Handsome, Uhm, your pup is Moses right?
lol, I figured since he was 3 he wasn't your man, lolol.. I hope your first year went well.
Such a beautiful tribute to meeting friends here on DG...I feel quite the same.
Crissy, I see you've been very busy, busy..I hope this is a good thing, helps take the mind off other things. Was absolutely thrilled for you and Dave..is he done with the training now?
Linda Kay, waiving hiya, saw you went to the doc, big bummer you can't have seeds and such, geesh sure hope some of that isn't your very favorite.
Hey Thunder, Thanks for letting everyone know i was still on vacation! I sure enjoyed chatting with you and Dave before we left...I hope your work schedule isn't too crazy...
Debbie, Think i read before I left, you got great news on the house?? I can't begin tell you how happy I am for you all. Whew one big burden off the shoulders.
Now i hope your next surgery goes well, my heart dropped when i read and all i can do is Wrap my Arms around you with strong prayers.
So how does Shane like college so far?
OHHH Betty!! Wow, how wonderful for Kyle, you bet your grandson is one incredible kid. What a fantastic way to invest in something he enjoys. heheheh, bet he is praying for snow...OMG, yep keeping everything crossed you win the big Bingo, your road trip sounds marvelous and be sure to add me to the "pick up" lol.
So glad you haven't been sick...Before i left I was trying to keep up with several threads, i guess i got a bit mixed up with the who and what.
Sorry to hear about your friend, just got to pray things go better...Goodness, how is Ann doing?? So sorry she took such a fall. Please give her a big Arm Wrap for me, will be keeping her in prayers for a speedy healing.
Oh which reminds me...Dianne, Was so sorry to hear about your friend as well. I hope that you were able to give the comfort you wanted. Such a hard thing to go through with an already full plate.
Well, I think i'm missing someone--OH Betty, thank you for the update on Janice! Was so glad to hear that her friend from Lansing staying with her. I sure hope they were able to get everything and nothing more comes of it...Also in my prayers. Have you or anyone heard anything more about Stacey/Fairy??
OK, Well, sorry i wasn't able to get back the other day, lolol, got side tracked getting things around here done! Then of course, have to share this computer with the kids/homework, Dh and business, phooey means I get last dibs...
But i was soooo Excited, before we left i got to watch my Hibiscus Bloom!!! I have 3, all the same, they were my Thank you for your Trash flowers from Joyce's friend at the Coye farm...(last years Sistah gathering)
(((Judy)))) So happy you are back! How was the vacation? I so hope it helped both you and Steve. Getting back to nature sure can heal the soul.
Shane did not get to go off to college. We couldn't afford the dorm room deposit, and by the time we got the money to them....missed the deadline and there were no dorms available. He is doing on-line courses right now, and we are praying he can get in January on campus.
Yes, we had a phone call on the house that all looks good...now we need the paperwork and are waiting for that.
I am not looking forward to this surgery, too many questions in the air. BUT its in Gods hands...and will go from there.
How is the football player doing? He must be exhausted also...and glad to have Mom & Dad home, as are the girls.
Debbie
Missed you Judy girl!!
How is Steve coping? Hope the trip was all you both had hoped for!
Did the kids have any wild parties while you were away? And your family, are healthy and doing well, bet they were thrilled with your visit.
Meant to tell you, Ann certainly enjoyed her visit with you all..talks about it a lot! Speaks so highly of Steve, his generosity in giving us the tour of Chicago, for his arranging the boat tour..can't wait for you both to visit here so we can make you as welcome.
You will have to save your pennies for your own computer Judy..maybe you could ask Santa for a laptop or ipad!!!
Jake I imagine is deep in his sports..all the boys other than Kyle are starting hockey next week..Noah no longer wants to be a goalie, decided he wanted to play other positions..now he decides, after Greg/Mel purchase all the goalie equiment which isn't cheap! I'm sure they are thrilled lol..
Judy, one day I'll hit that lottery, don't want it for me but want it for all my friends..if not the big one, just enough to purchase A MOTORHOME that will fit most of us in..
Our temps Judy must be the same..wearing slacks/long sleeve blouse..yesterday it was one of my light outfits. Every morning now you have to check on the weather to know what to wear...
Looked at the weather channel..high on Saturday is 60 but on the good side it is not calling for rain..let's hope it stays that way!
Bit the bullet..called the car dealership and booked an appt. for monday morning to have the timing belt/chain fixed..that with the water pump and flushing of transmission it will take most of my pennies but it has to be done, best now before the winter..there was a talk show the other morning saying that anything over 90,000 kl. one should have them changed..I've about 155,000 kl so much in need..it's something you don't know if you need or not but should it blow, yikes no steering..that gave me the whillies.. Alternative to leaving it be, is not being able to travel your side of the border on long trips because I'd be worried about problems..can't have that now can I?
LindaKay, again on the news this morning they were discussing the wildfire in Minnesota and how smoky it was in our area..can't imagine how you must be getting some after effects of the Texas blazzes...
If Mary and Dianne went on their early morning walk this morning they might have needed more than a sweater..talk about chilly..
Now that it's quiet in the office and everyone has left for the day, I'm back to sewing crochet squares for mom..she said she put an entire blanket together in 1/2 a day..I've spent a full day and probably another before it's together and I'm quick at sewing the blocks together..think she exaggerates..lol
After Joyce and Laura losing their mom I think I'd best be more appreciative of mine...
Debbie, your woes couldn't be in any hands better than that of the Lord! Here's hoping January will be Shane's time.
Pleased he's continuing with his music, he's a very talented young man! Was telling mom you had to go for an operation and she wanted me to pass on that she'd be praying for you as well...
Well, you will never believe what I've been up to??? I know, you would lol I've been looking for patterns for something easy for our 4th Annual Christmas Craft should anyone want to do one this year. Hoping to come up with something shortly, gee whiz, wasn't it mid October last year when I sent all the kits out?
Lordy, just went back in time..isn't the 4th coming up it's the 5th..
Nope didn't start until end of October so a bit of time left for searching for something fun..
Got to pour some Santa faces for Barb...you ok with faces LindaKay, know you were ordering the hair a few weeks ago?

Betty, we don't have any smoke here from the fires. The fires are all central or east Texas, and the winds are blowing east and south, so no smoke for us! I can imagine hoe bad it is over on the East part of Texas though! People have been going to the ER with many breathing problems.
Judy, glad to hear your back home trying to get back into your routine!
Betty, If I could ask you to pour and paint 4 faces for me, that would be great! Please let me know how much I need to send you!
I found a store here that sells shoes, and in the back of that store they are selling velvet for $5.00 a yard. I told them I would be back Friday when I had more time to look around! Praying they still have it there for that price?
That is a great price LindaKay for the velvet..omg it's around $19.99-$24.99 for it here!
Get there as quick as you can...
Next week I'll get the molds out and pour some so if anyone else is in need now is the time to speak up..lol
Ahhh just went looking through the last 4 years of craft day we did together...made me teary eyed..even some of the kids participated..i.e. Barb's (Sean), Laura and Judy's bunch...hmmm decisions, decisions...
shall we paint or have a project that involves fabric??? Looked at our Christmas cards we made..they were fun..don't you find going back in threads is fun?
((((((((((((((((Laura))))))))))))))))))))))) T & P to you and yours. and gentle hugs to you Debbie.....
Nice to meet Ya Suse, I don't think I was around when you were here before.....I usually am on the night shift...well I usually am on after the night shift...... I don't always post, but do read most every day / night.
Judy, call me when you have the time...I am home all day today, and have tomorrow off too!!!! Yippee!!! got to do some sewing for sure!!
I need another coffee, and some more wake up time...I did not get to bed till about 5am, but slept till noon!!! that's a long time for me !!! and now it seems I am in slow gear to get going....
Diane, so happy to hear that your darling got to be outside "with the guys" for a little bit, I can only imagine how that must have felt for you ??!!! and for him!!!
Susan, Maybe you could start work for those guys at a reduced rate, with pay to go up as the business gets going??? and maybe start "off the books"???? if ya know what I mean??
Love and hugs to Y'all
Hi again...Real quick here, as Breenie needs to do her homework for today!
Thanks for the Hugs Debbie, your such a sweetie!! Big bummer, but I sure hope Shane will get into the the dorm in January...
and for sure, Gods embrace is sure comforting, yep one day, one step...
Hiya Betty, sure missed you all too. We were in one place that had computer's but ROFLOL, i couldn't find the room!!
But we had really a spectacular time. Steve got all his riding in and we both just enjoyed the sights. We spent LD wkend at the Cottage with the kids. It was wonderful, they fished and fished, catching little bitty ones, lol...Jacob just got his learners permit! So dad had the honor of taking him on his first run...He begged me, and i was like uh uh, no way...beg,beg,beg, i finally said Are you kidding i can't even ride in the car with dad on these roads! Whew he was "mad" but finally relented...But i've been practicing with him around the hood, today i let him go on the busy road, lol it was lunchtime and not so busy. Actually he's doing quite well and i don't feel like i'm gonna die at any given moment. LOL unlike a certain other new driver of mine, lol/wink.
Betty do you have a photo of the Santa"s that the faces are for?? Is it an easy project?? It was before "my time"....one of my sisters collects Santa's, Maybe I could make her one??!!! And maybe one for my DIL / GD ???
or a link to the thread???
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/923034/
Here ya go Thunder.
These were so easy to make, and so pretty..
Jacob has become such a man to be proud of Judy...I look back at the photo we took as I was leaving your place last month and compare it to my first visit...yikes..time sure does fly.
Thanks LindaKay for providing the Victorian Santa link..
As for the faces, will see if I can find a photo of them..4 different faces in the mold but once the beard and cape is on no difference using either of them..
The talent you all have is just simply beautiful...what a gift!!!
You wouldn't say talented Debbie if you did one..just ask Barb, think she was in awe at how easy the sleighs and the Victorian Santa's were..looking at the photo trying to see if I know who did what..lol..it's in the decorating that everything made them their special project...
Betty, remember....I am the one that did "wood burning" with a sodering iron.....no comment!
Bev, waving..how have you been doing?
Debbie, I'm going to get you over here and you will see just how very talented you are..which I KNOW you are!!!
OHHH my those are gorgeous....got to run for now...hubby needs to go do something??? with my truck?? needs me to drive?? guess sewing is gonna wait a while...BBL hugs

Anyone interested in a halloween swap?
Hi Everyone!!
Laura I am so sorry for you loss, prayers going out to you and your family.
SUSE!!!!! I am sooooo glad to see you again! Welcome Back!!
Lordy, forget about fall clothing could almost get my winter skivvies out! Burr.. Understand
Susan that they are calling for frost north of us and in your neck of the woods! Time to bring in some plants..
Cold enough for me to grab a rag quilt and settling in for the night then I remembered bingo was changed to tonight and Ann is expecting me..
Crissy, what I'd happening with you?? Sure miss your posts .. Guess work has been keeping you busy..
It's that time isn't it LindaKay, Halloween is right around the corner...we haven our thanksgiving first though so will have to get all the fall goodies out..such a colorful time of year. When I look down into the mall from my desk there is a party store..they sure have some interesting Halloween pieces on display and for sale..think I like the broom that sweeps all on it's own..set a witch hat on it and it's just too adorable
Betty, you need to get some pictures if you can? That sounds pretty cool!
Think last time I was star side they had them at my favorite store, cracker barrel..
This is what it looks like minus the witches hat which is what makes it just too cute
http://www.curbly.com/m/6932-the-enchanted-broomba
OMG, I have to get one of those! My kids are always...for years...asking me if I am driving....or taking the broom when I go out. Told them they would be surprised the powers my broom has!!! Halloween it gets worse. lol
Well you'll have to look at cracker barrel next time you pass by Debbie! Your kids sure like to get you worked up Debbie lol
Animals all want to cozy up, sailor is nudging me, Riley's by my side, Missy is just sitting looking at me as though I should move off the couch and let her have my spot!
Laura - sooo sorry for your loss!
Best - I was chosen as a Toys for Tots person to donate the Toys made by the Sistahs Of the Heart group, so will wait for these ladies in Canada & US to send them to me and then will donate them to the Pregnancy Care Centre in Calgary!!
Worst - found my bank account will only allow certain bills to be paid, so needed to "dip into" my retirement fund again.
Learned - even though I'm able to donate toys to one of our church's "projects" Pregnancy Care Centre, that Someone has to recall their bad experience in donating handknit baby clothes to a place where they go no "thanks".
Frankly, I think if she chose to donate, it's for the newborns and the parents who have nothing. She shouldn't need any more thanks (the director said she would have someone from that centre and the recipients send personal thank you letters to her - it didn't happen). She won't donate to them again. That's such a shame.......
Love that broom!
