Barb, you've every reason to be proud..he's doing so well..an Olympian for sure...

Isn't it grand when they take such an interest in something positive vs hanging around the streets..

No wonder you are tired, you've not stopped all weekend!

Hate the thoughts of going to work tomorrow..in 3 weeks I've been home more than I've been to work.

Is Norm settling back into a routine?

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All ;

Thank you Thunder & LK For the mailing ideas.... I'll see if I can put this on my project list for next weekend....
Betty - Love the bikes. Kyle is sure getting tall !
Barb - Brandon looks like a Prince ! so stately ....

Family reunion today. I'm tired. ((HUGS)) Will pop back in a bit
Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Barb - how wonderful to win so many ribbons! Brandon certainly carries himself well :-)
Mary - make sure you rest tonight!
Tomorrow I go to help my friend at her catering "office". She really needs someone to organize her!!!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

the "spiders" are nifty...but I want a bike like Kyles!!! ^_^

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding Brandon. Betty's grandsons remind me so much of him. All three are courteous considerate young men. We have a lot to be proud of Betty.
Don't know what's going on with me. The last few days I've had weird aches and pains in the stomach. Now my friend says I should go get my gall bladder checked. If it doesn't let up soon, that's just what I'll do....... Be back later.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Congrats on all the awards for Brandon! He really looks nice sitting on that horse! Looks like it is something he really loves to do!
Barb, sure hope you can figure out what's going on with your tummy.
I have been having stomach problems too, and I have been through so many test, and all they can tell me is that I have diverticulosus! I have had cat scans, ultra sounds, MRI, upper GI and a coloncoscopy!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Tests be darned Linda. I'm glad I'm not in that much pain but it is one of those aggravating kind of things where you are fine and all of a sudden!!!Bang you hurt but it doesn't last long. Goes away very quickly when I stretch a bit. And I'm good for a while and then bang!! again......My Dr. doesn't ahve hours on Monday so I'll call in themornign if it isn't any better.

Lyndonville, NY

Sure hope you are all feeling better soon. I went thru the gallbladder issue several years ago.

The test you NEED done for that...and have to INSIST on is a Hyda Scan WITH Injection Fraction. JUST like that...or they will have to repeat and do many other. I had MRI, Xrays, colonoscopy...the works. This is a Neuclear test...and they will know right then.

If you get your pain when you eat rich foods, anything with gravy or sauces...you might be onto something. Another trigger for me...was peanut butter. Sure hope you find out what it is. They had me keep a food journal before my appointment..."meal" "what I ate" "reaction" and the time til that reaction happened.

Feel better soon!!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, sorry you aren't feeling the best..if you were at my house I'd say it was my cooking! Glad you will be making an appointment to have it looked at..

LindaKay, that's a lot of tests, but on the good side of things you know that everything came back clear..but when you still know something is wrong it doesn't make you feel any better!

Barb, last night when Greg and Kyle were at the house last night they were saying goodnight they were eye level, don't doubt Kyle will be 6'2" - 6'4. ..am thrilled that none of them take after me height wise. Lol

Mary, were you able to get the return to work note or are you off today??

Dianne, Debbie,Shirley,Judy and Bev..you all o.k.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Journal is a great idea Debbie, sometimes we pick something up and eat and just don't remember what contents could be that would be a trigger..

How was the concert?

I'll pop back in a bit....

Verona, ON

I was just going to post "Mary, Mary where are you?" So glad that you were able to get a letter stating that you were not contagious.Had the feeling your manager sort of made you feel like you have bubonic plague.Loved your family photo on FB - the family is almost as big as my mam's. Mam was 1 of 13 living when they emigrated to Canada. That's alot of chubby red faced Welshmen to get into a picture at a reunion. Weddings were almost impossible as just on mam's side alone with aunts, uncles and first cousins receiving an invite you were looking at approx 70 people.

The guys are returning tomorrow afternoon to finish the wood - they ran out of steam late Saturday afternoon. Had enough energy to sit around and have a few wobbly pops and nibbles before they went home. You have no idea how humbled and how blessed we feel! Two of the fellows work full time and had to be at work for 4 am Sunday morning. I felt great going out and helping stack and yes they let me run the splitter for awhile. Whooo hooo! I know DH felt very badly he could not help. One of the fellows came into the house and brought Warren out to sit on a huge log chair they made him (just rolled some chunks of wood together) so he could sit there for awhile and have a yarn or two with them. They wouldn't let me feed them other than nibblies saying they never eat lunch. They felt strong enough to sit around and have a few wobbly pops before they left though which was really nice for Warren. He so misses spending time outside.

Barb and Betty your grandsons are a couple of handsome dudes! Barb I hope you are feeling better.

Gotta go Stormy is communing with the coyotes!Dogs from 2 concessions over have joined the chorus!

Dianne what is a wobbly pop please?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Betty sew glad you got the box!!! was just saying to the hubby today...that I could not believe you had not gotten it.....It has nothing to do with the charms swap.....just wanted to send you some Christmas stuff to help out with your three quilts, and whatever else you wish to make......I cut those pieces for you when I was going through my Christmas fabric boxes...looking for fabrics to do the Christmas/winter block swap...I knew you were having a hard time finding Christmas / winter fabrics up there......just enjoy!!!

You have mentioned a few times on different threads, that you wished you could get a plant in a swap....but could not do to custom's??? I guess??? no live plants crossing the border??? Any ways....I saw that little pretty, and thought... " now there is a fantastic plant to send to Betty....RWB, and I thought it was very pretty!!!

The biggest difference between men and boys.......is simply the prices of their toys ^_^ LOL

Linda K Urban dictionary defines a Wobbly pop as 1 "any bottled alcoholic beverage that knocks you on your ass." 2 "a term used for an alcoholic beverage. usually beer." take your pick !!!! :)

Verona, ON

Thunder's got it right for you LK. A wobbly pop is beer - well at least in my neck of the woods. Interesting to know that it could mean an alcoholic drink of any kind. Guess that makes my Shady Lady a drink I have occasionally on a very hot day a wobbly pop too~

Just to add to the confusion on our land today Ontario Hydro is in cutting and chipping trees and brush from their lines. Stormy and Quill are having a bird as we rarely see people near our house just the wild and woolies that roam around. They are used to the sound of a chain saw but the chipper they are using for brush is another story.

Glorious, glorious day outside today. so off I go. Don't want to miss a minute of it! No bugs!!

Morning all..

Storm early this morning in my neck of the woods and internet is down. Sure feel lonely when that happens...

Dianne, how nice of those men and it was great that they made Warren feel part of it..hope Warren may have had a wooblypop, don't they say they bring on the urge to eat? We got a call from community policing the other night saying to beware of cayotes..apparently they are out in great numbers. Because of that I try to keep the kitties inside but they just cry and scratch to get outdoors most evening..hope they are smart enough not to become a 'meal'..

Thunder, I took photo's of my new stash but with internet down I couldn't post..even got up extra early to do it..hopefully tonight I can.. I'm just thrilled..because if you remember the pattern I sent you re the 12 Month of Christmas Panel quilt, it takes a whole lot of odds/ends...Have all the panels out now working on the last 4 so what I received from you, Barb and Laura will really come in handy.. did you think about starting the same project?

The pot of R/W/B is just too cute..set it with all my goodies for next year...I was just so excited to see the box..

Yes, toys/toys and more toys..kids got it honest from Roger I'll tell you! Roger would say..'the one that has the most toys gets to go to heaven' bet he's there playing with the newest of toys lol

Mary, hope you got some meds at the same time as your 'go back to work Free card' Can imagine you are tired..these family gatherings can be exhausting.

Keep looking at my weather forecast..so far 'sunny' for Saturday..would make things so much simpler to have it at home!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! Never heard that term Wobbly pop before! Thanks for the explanation!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same weather here Dianne..think end of September and early November are my favorite weeks of the year..already seeing quite a bit of color change in the trees. Usually by the first week in October which is only a few weeks away, while travelling to Meaford trees are in full color...with it being much hotter this year wonder if the colors will be as brilliant..enjoy your day Dianne and do have a wobbly!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, think if you have more than one that's where the 'wobbly' part comes in..lol

Verona, ON

LOL Betty! Yep that's where the wobbly part of the name comes from!!

Lyndonville, NY

All I have to do is sniff the wine cork and I get wobbly! I don't know why, but can't stand the taste or smell of beer. I have used it for cooking on occassion, but that is the extent!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same here Debbie..

I was just laughing, bought Woman's World magazine this morning..

Says it's a great week to:

Get lost in a corn maze..this Year there is the Knights and Dragons in Lexington S.C. and also Let Freedom Ring in Chester N.H. want to go

ROFL that sounds like a fun deal!!! I love Womans World Magazines. Wish a yearly subscription didn't cost so much or I would get it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Should send you my old magazines instead of burning them..know they have great recipes but not into cooking unless I have to!

My apologies Debbie, did you answer my question about how long you'll be in the hospital??? looked for your answer and maybe I didn't go back far enough..you know me..losing it!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I won't know until they do the surgery. Definately an overnight...if they do the laproscopic. IF they can't do laproscopic and have to do the "c-sec" incision...it will probably be 3 days. Surgery is Sept. 22 and 7:30 a.m...to be at hospital at 6;00 a.m!
