The peanut butter and jelly bits didn't come out how I thought they should so I nixed them, those canapes were great!
Going out with sil and bil to have a combined anniversary celebration to our fav German restaurant, when I made reservations I requested something gluten free if they could...I love this place, nicest and most accomedating

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sounds good Jen, enjoy!

BBQ Chicken wax-green bean mix, chicken-garlic rice, and mato slices.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Chicken-garlic rice .... Verrrry Interesting! Have to look that one up, sounds good!

BBQ Ribeye steaks, French fries and a small romaine/ tomato salad on the side.
- steak dinners fill me up quick unless I've been doing hard labor, .. and that's something I usually try to avoid. (lol!!)

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

We had country style ribs, corn on the cob and more pasta salad. :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

WC, I like the chicken-garlic Ricearoni boxed one but it's high in sodium so i started making my own. You can tweak it as needed...sometimes I use cream of chicken soup but you have to be careful of scorching.

Thanks! .. good idea, I've been avoiding high sodium foods, some of them are way too high! I always read the labels for that.

* Thanks for the link, I'll use the chicken broth, the soup would be too heavy for us! ☺

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I find it heavy too, DH says it's the "stick to your ribs" kind of rice. I'll pass. :)

Thomaston, CT

Picnic at Garret's today....over 20 of us, so there were many foods on the table....I had chicken, pulled pork, and sweet potato salad....

I did some house work inside and moved some rocks around the pond, so my back would not let me even grill. My wife and I decided to take her parents to Denny's and get take-out meals for our sons who are both working today. Yes, we love Denny's and it was very good. ☺

Thomaston, CT

Had 2 desserts today....bad, bad!

Making sausage & peppers for tonight to serve on a hard roll.....will bring the leftovers to Mom.....

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Forgot to post last night! We had marinated steak tips and rice... forgot to get more veggies. Woops! :)

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I did cube steaks and my "enhanced" beans on the grill for supper. Turned out great!

Back to the subject of Denny's - they have greatly improved over the last few years. Their current promotion is "Let's Get Cheesy" - lots of items with lots of cheese and a new white cheddar macaroni and cheese. They even have a patty melt with mac and cheese on it. My sons have had that and liked it very much. I really like the pancake puppies. ☺

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Hamburgers with melted imported Swiss cheese, bacon. lettuce & tomato. French fries with plenty of ketchup and a Crispy half sour pickle to finish the meal.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Chili in the crockpot but have to run out to the store didn't realize I didn't have any tomato sauce....UGH and I was just at the store

Thomaston, CT

Sounds like what I do! Pasta for tonight.....

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm planning to make smoked cheddar links sausages and left-over beans. Cooking inside tonight as I ran out of charcoal for the grill. Have to get some this weekend.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Steak rice and carrots.. Jen I do stuff like that all the time or somebody eats one of my ingredients and I don't find out until half way through cooking!
