Water rolling down blackened walls
Cascading to the dark abyss
Reminders of people of lives lost
Engraved into stone, an epitaph
Flags unfurled for all to see
A country united in pride
Showing the world we will prevail
Your cruelties will never avail
Boys now men, names all read
Speak of mother, father and kin
A shining beacon of our hope
Of lives that live on again
Benches and daisies, water that flows
Maples standing strong and tall
Flight paths and strike points noted
Memorials standing for all
Fields of flowers, walls of names
Lest we shall forget
Know our spirits will never fail
They get stronger by decade by day
Watching those bright shining stars
Those broad bright stripes
One nation under god, indivisible
With liberty and justice for all.

Wendy and Bryan (her DH) had invited us to their wedding in Washington. We weren't able to go, but did view the reception via webcam. Ahh.. the wonders of pc!

I'm rather tired tonight - only got 2 hours sleep, then went to church/choir, and afterwards attended a friend's Housewarming - I brought some of my teacups and some Nanaimo bars Afterwards Bob & I went and bought a pressure washer (2000psi - men have to have bigger/better!) I hope I can lift it on/off the deck so I can use it. He says it's not that heavy, but he forgets I'm a shortie lol
Tomorrow am I'm going to help a friend get her business "up to snuff" - she's the one with the catering business, and needs to get her office/paperwork under control.

Thank You all for the Wonderful Birthday Wishes !!!!!!!! Had a GREAT time,we went to the Marietta Ohio Sternwheel Festival and it was so much fun . Had the BEST fireworks show I have ever seen !!!!
Got to see Elvis....LOL aka Mike Albert ( he is 8 years older the I,but we grew up together ) he is really good ,even has been to Las Vegas !

That sounds like you had a great day! And you even got to see Elvis! I just knew he was still alive!!!

Rick and I have been together for 15 years and this year he got me my 1st Birthday cake !!!!!!!!! Red Velvet w/ Butter Cream Icing , OH so yummy !!!! And a pair of Dragonfly Australian Crystal earrings ,very beautiful ~~~

I want to also wish our Sweet Marion a Happy Birthday ~~~~~

I love all Elvis songs........ except this one. When it comes on the radio I Must shut it off. Too repetitive.

Sue, I'm so glad you are living close to her, even if it's an hour drive. She certainly needs someone like you to reminisce on all the good times she had with her mother.
God surely knew what our agenda's gonna be. If Cookie were to have a job, she won't be able to take care of her parents, and a broken leg too. She would be stir crazy!
Fall will soon be in Ohio, and her mind soon will be occupied with winterizing her plants and pond.
Whenever you see her, please give her hugs for us .

Tomorrow I'm going to help Jackie again and Bob says he wants to help by cleaning the floor in the kitchen.
I told Jackie that, and she's trying to dissuade him and she's feeling badly she says that she can't pay us. I told her to "pay it forward" or, as she's done volunteering in the past, that she's finally getting a return on her free work.
I also told her (and Bob, in the background) said "don't argue with Susan - you won't get anywhere!!" LOL
I told her that my mom told me a long time ago that people should "accept graciously" and so now she needs to do that too!!

Oh, I understand how Jackie feels.
Tell Jackie that it's the Lord's unexpected blessings for her. I truly believe in that.
You're such a sweetheart Susan, to do that for her.

Today, I got another box from my sister, full of canned food!! I didn't expect that in the box, she included a letter stating it's pay back for the time when I took in her kids and didn't expect a penny from her.
Guess I have to accept it graciously.

LOL Jaye - yes, accept graciously!! I love using that line when people try to say "oh, you can't really mean me to have this!" Why are people so slow to accept help, especially when they need it? I know, I know, so many have been told for so long that they have to be self-reliant, but that's not the way the Lord wants - he wants us to help one another, and there's no arguing with the Lord, either LOL
