Deb - you are probably right... just nervous. New card ordered Monday when Incident happened made it by Wednesday Fed Ex. When I decided to close my checking acct (bad guys have my check book) they sent out a new card and That was Wednesday... it hasn't made it here yet... cut up the first one received....
(((HOT HUGS)))) LK and Crissy ! 100* here today without index but it felt less humid than previous days... so cooler feeling than other days.. the plants are just Cooking...
STILL Would take 100* rather than snow... LOL....
Best/worse/what did I learn today? A chat with friends..
Mary if you do not get it tomorrow...I would call. Just for your piece of mind!
My goodness - (((((((Judy & Steve))))))) quite a lot to go through, with the funeral. Your ceiling came down? How awful!
Mary - It's going to take some doing to get everything back on track re: the theft of your purse, but it Will happen. Good for you, for keeping on top of it all.
I'm just back from the camping trip and am going to relax the rest of the evening. Remind me tomorrow and I'll post a few pics.
Coffee is on.
Hope all are well today.
More clean-up from Irene so off I go.
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee Laura!
Thanks for the coffee Laura!
Good morning, all! Well, I must have been tired last night - shut off the monitor, and forgot to shut off the computer....... siiiiigh lol
Just got an interview for tomorrow morning 11am - pastoral care office. as an assistant to the VP and a team of chaplains. It's a .6 FTE so 43 hours /2weeks. The highest they pay is $18/hour, and that's lower than what I'd been getting, but "what the hey". A job I can keep is still a job! Mon to Thurs, 9-3 means I get a long weekend Every week lol
Good Morning everyone!!!
Morning Crissy, hope your not working too hard today!
Susan, good luck with your interview!
Morning,
Just got all the backlog from my week off completed and now I'm sitting here thinking of all I could be doing at home.. so many pro's for working and so many con's for staying at home..i.e. $$$ every week..lol
Managed to get the 5 quilt blocks that needed to be done - done yesterday and have them for posting today..will try to get my charm swap completed today, go shopping for jammies, yet another swap and I am all caught up..looking forward to that!
Judy, bet Jacob was flying high winning the game.. when will you be leaving for your week of rest? Gee whizz, vehicle keyed..you aren't having much luck are you.
Mary, interesting that you would plant cucumbers but guess that there is still good weather to be able to be eating cuc's come fall... laughing here, your life was so busy and so full of stress that you will now start finding it lonely and wondering what to do with yourself..
Guess we all have a long weekend coming up..was tempted to go to Buffalo but will not do the wait at customs line-up..unless of course I was waiting to cross over before 6am and coming back the same way.
Crissy, is Dave excited about possibly being employed..would it mean that he would train for several weeks in California then work in your area?
Susan, I think it would be a perfect job for you, work and yet extra time for yourself...praying you get it...
Yes, Betty he would go to CA for 4-6 weeks of training then be working in Little Rock. I'm betting he'll love the people he meets at the interview and will be gone the last week of September and all of October.
My cucs are always planted in the spring but I think you can plant them in mid summer for a late summer/fall crop, especially where Mary is where it doesn't get cold enough to snow. PPTTTHHHHH
GOOD LUCK SUSAN!!!!!
Crissy, you and Dave as well as Susan and Bob deserve a break!
Paul (BIL-Boss) was in this morning, he was leaving to go sign his mortgage, talking about interest rates..we got gabbing about mine..doesn't come due until April..I was saying that I'd minimize the payments, might buy a new car which likely would last me end of my days (lol) and he said, 'I don't understand this, WHEN I FINISH WORK, no reason you can't continue for another 15 years..easy job, good pay, why on earth would you want to quit' sooo guess he's not trying to replace me yet!!!
He just knows he has a good worker!
I'm back at the internet cafe. Still hot and humid but our electrician fixed the broken a/c and boosted the dying home in a home visit that cost $25. Mexican labor costs from a friend.
We've had three small rains and two wind storms. Lots of leaves and branches to clean up and toss in the arroyo. My little hilltop is gradually expanding.
My doctor has arranges fro knee x-rays and made a referral to orthopedics to see about possible replacement of one or both knees, something I've been delaying on for about fifteen years. However, the pain is getting worse and I've had to increase painkillers so I will check it out.
katie
Betty - sounds like he doesn't want you to retire, never mind replace you! I really thought you wanted to retire, and if you do, then he can't stop you LOL
Oh I know I can Susan..when I hear many of you going through hardships without jobs I think, here I have a perfectly good one that pays mega $$$ and all I do is sit and play all day and now will work one day if not a few days from home as he's trying to make it easier for me...before I quit I think I'd let him know that I want more time off here and there and if that's ok then I'd stay..not going anywhere right this sec
Katie, glad you have your A working again. I have had one knee replacement, and it is not a fun thing to go through, but after about a month, you w ill be walking better again. Just make sure you get a good Dr. Looks like mine did not take and she wants to do it again, after she does a hip replacement! Told her I would wait till I had to have it done.
mega $$$? hmmmmmm guess who's paying for all our trips to see you in 2012??? LOL j/k, j/k!!
Can you imagine how many $$ it would take for all of us? Mind you....... you'd have more to come than if we all paid our own..... talk about bribery to come ROFLMBFBO!!
Lol, you are too much Susan, when I say mega $$$ I mean for all I di I'm overpaid!
Katie, when you see a doctor would it be in California or in Mexico?? I'm sue you said but can't remember.. Glad you have Internet use from time to time..
Linadaye, didn't you just get your knee done about 2 years ago? I would think needing a hip results in walking poorly thus putting more weight on the knees..maybe get that done shortly!
How did your interview go..oops maybe I should scroll up and see if you've posted..yawning, think I might take a nap before I go clean up my sewing area..
I FINALLY have some good news.
We got the loan mitigation for the mortgage...and are out of foreclosure!!!
THis is such a relief.....and if DH looses his job, as expected...we might be able to manage with unemployment....tight...but possible.
Omg Debbie, doing the happy dance for you!! I can't imagine how you must be feeling..to have had that over your head all these months, what a relief..knowing you I bet you shed a tear. There are no words to say how excited I am for you...now you can unpack those boxes..more prayers will be said that Paul gets good news about his job as well..things come in three, what do you want for your 3rd thing..
Wow, see you gave someone a home and the Lord thanked you by giving you your home..
How did Paul make out today?

Cathy just called, she has been unwell these past few weeks, so unusual for her..said she was in so much pain last night that she cried..went to the doctors..can't give her much med because she is on cumadin ?? Going to get an ultra sound, know when? Booking now for November..they are marking urgent..what Thayer would do is zilch, anyone booking is booking because it's urgent!
Kyle just dropped in for 1/2 hour visit to tell me about his work day..we talked about a young friend of his who was coming over to see his snow machine, young man also has one, Kyle said he'd not go snowmobiling with him because he's careless and a danger to those snowmobiling around him so best keep away from trouble..smart Kyle,
Just got a call from Suzanne as I was typing about Kyle, longest standing friend of the family Marc Maurice died this afternoon..went out for his walk, the found him on the walkway..revived him but when they got him to hospital they told Juliette he was brain dead and better to take him off machines..
So in this one post I've felt such happiness for Debbie and her family, proud of Kyle and his choices and sadness for the loss of a friend!
(((((((((((Betty))))))))))) I know that you will be there for the family during their time of need.
Smart Kyle
Debbie - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! What a weight off your shoulders! Soooo happy for you!
Ditto !!!
Betty - so sorry for your friend's loss! And I'm proud of Kyle too... love how he keeps you updated on the family.... I hope Cathy gets some relief soon as I know she is your Angel sometimes....
DEBBIE ! I can't tell you what a wave of relief came over me when I read your news. I agree with Betty... Home back to you for making a home for others. And things come in "Three's" so hope you get 2 more "Good Newses"... LOL....
Katie - so glad you could stop by again... hope they get your computer up soon. I wish I could picture this internet cafe in Mexico....
SUSAN - happy dance for you too... sounds like the perfect job for you... LK - hope you don't need surgery too soon but hey gal - get it if you need it !
Laura - hope the clean up gets done quickly. One of the side effects of the hurricanes... all the neighbors walking around visiting and helping each other.... some nice memories during a horrible time... even DS.. young at the time working with the "big guys" to help out....good example to set for the kids....
Betty - the guy at the nursery said it was still okay to plant cukes... (of course he wanted to sell me the plants!) but we ask his opinion a lot and he is a very nice guy so I trust him.....
DH and I will leave town Friday for Marianna, FL... night in hotel then go visit Dad for a night... then cut back to Destin/Ft Walton for a couple beach nights (if I can get ressies this late) and dinner with my sis.
Haven't stopped yet Betty - but YES - should be some quiet nights up ahead with school back in and schedules etc.
Hugs,
Mary
OHHH I want to go to Destin, it is so beautiful there. My friend Bonnie took me last year when I was down visiting her. Ohhhh...the beach. sniff sniff. Have a wonderful time! You soooo deserve it and need this!
It's only 2 nights there Deb..... BUT I WILL Definitely take you there with me !
(you know I will ) ((((((HUGS))))))
If you take me that far...I can walk the rest of the way down to my old home town.....or swim, or boat...or surf.
If we can find a room..... there will be PLENTY of space for a Refrigerator Box..... :o)
Morning all, sooo dark out there, normally I would check my threads early morning and enjoy looking outside, this morning no go!
They aren't calling for rain until the weekend so no need for umbrella.
Thunder, how nice to see you post, was also going to send out Dg police to look for you..have you been busy? How' s the Sailor doing?
Mary, Debbie's vehicle is in use, guess I'll have to pick her up and meet up with you. Lol. We can camp out in the parking lot..trailer needs to go on a trip as well. Where did you say we'd meet up?
Still so excited for you Debbie!
Bev, how are you doing this week..
Laura, didn't you just repair the basement due to flooding? Will you now have to replace chip rock and flooring? Yikes..lots of work but as long as you all are safe its all that matters...you were smart to pack up all your quilting supplies. Hope your sister's quilt was finished and upstairs..when will you be leaving?
Barb, you are quiet, trying to catch up on sleep?? Maybe I worked you too hard! How did Norm's first day go
Best I get a move on, garbage day today...half of what is in my refrigerator has to be emptied, bagged and set out
Gab later

Debbie that is really great new about the house.
Susan good luck with the interview.
Mary enjoy your long weekend.
Betty so sorry to hear abut your friend passing and that Cathy is not feeling well. Hope she can get sonogram soon.
LK do I understand correct you had a knee replacement and they want to do again.? And your hip also?
Yes sister quilt is done and in a safe place. And yes we have had the basement repaired 2 times and water still comes in .
Leaving for Virginia Beach early Friday and be back late Monday.
Driving me and kids DH staying behind. Hoping my back will let me sit for 4 hours. Taking meds with but can not drive and take these things .
coffee is on
Good morning everyone,
Things are starting to quiet down here and I hope today will be a great one. Yesterday was busy trying to catch up with all that had occured while we were at Betty's and dealing with a bit of yard cleanup and putting things back where they belong outside. It was nice to see my birds happy to be fed again and the hummers are still here too. I just love to watch them.
I have all my treasures from the trip spread all over my living room waiting for my daughter to come see. She has been out straight too. She works full time and has school two nights a week as well. I told her no hurry but I do want to get things put away. I must take pictures first of all the wonderful things that came home with me.
Norm went back to work yesterday and was really tired last night. He says he will adjust to the work game soon. I think it was driving straight through from Betty's that did him in with the driving and that's what his job entails!!!!
I'm so thrilled with your news Debbie. It must be great to have that weight off your shoulders. I meant to tell you when I saw you that I have the Whirligigs book and I'll send it to you by the weekend. I'm about half way through and, Mary, I'm loving it!!! What did you say the name of the other book is???
I must tell you all that Norm and I met both Kyle and Noah while we were at Betty's. What a wonderful tribute to their upbringing they are. Such gentlemen and such caring boys. Kyle stops in to see his Gram often and it doesn't matter if they chat or if they just sit and watch something together on the TV - the important thing is that he is there. Wonderful young men.....
Must run for now - my neighbor just came over. Be back later......
Laura, don't be doing any major clean-up until you leave just incase you throw your back out, that would not be good...perhaps you can drive an hour at a time and take a break in between..makes for a long drive but easier on the body...omg, that's terrible that you've gone through so many floods..perhaps until the problem is solved re water re-routing that you leave the basement floor unfinished..I've got an unfinished basement floor, painting it to look like rocks and wether or not it's snow, shoe grind or not there is no upkeep..maybe just painting it for now might be the answer.
I'm sure you will have a great time visiting with your sister..does she have children in same age category?
Barb, I didn't drive and it's taken me a few days to recoup, only because the schedule was out of my normal routine. Let's hope Norm will be back to his own self in a few days.. lol at you having all your handmade goodies out..if you leave them out much longer you will be just on time for Christmas decorating!
Thank you kind lady for your kind words..yes, Kyle makes sure grandma is doing ok..some days he never stops chatting, other days he sits and we have few words..last night he was chatty..on about his day, his snowmobile (which he's just thrilled about) told me about his friend whose father bought him a $6,000 snow machine and said he would work it off this summer, but so far only worked 2 days..Kyle says it's more important to earn the money to appreciate the things you have and are more apt to look after them..then he told me it looks as though Noah will purchase a snowmobile from his grandfather with the $$$ he's earned so a snowmobile family they will be with 4 machines, who knows, grandma might have to purchase one as well. Guess who is hoping for snow???
Quiet day here today, almost tempted to work from home tomorrow and again on Friday..we'll see how busy it gets from now until then..
Good morning everyone,
GREAT news Debbie on the house...hope more good news will come your way!!!
Laura, I am so glad you came through the storm without huge damage!! Take lots of pictures of your vacation and share with us!!
Barb...that sure was a long drive for Norm and I hope he will get adjusted soon with being back to work. Miss you!!!
Betty...so sorry for your loss. It always is heart breaking no matter how old that person is that passes on :(
Your Grandson is such a sweetheart, not many teenagers take care of their Grandma like he does...shows real maturity!!
Susan...crossing my fingers that you will get that job!!! Do you have more pictures of your last camping adventure? that couple look like sweethearts :)
Mary and Judy...your get-aways will do you all a ton of good!!! Enjoy the time and take tons of pictures for us!!!
LK and Crissy I don`t know how you can survive in this heat!!! Just thinking about the 118F (with humidity) we had ONE day this summer makes me sick...I guess I am made for the "cold" climate...lol
Katie...hope you get relief soon too from the heat and your pain.
Dev...how are you doing lately? Is your wrist getting any better?
Dianne...sending prayers and many hugs to you and Warren...always on my mind and in my heart.
Well I better get my behind in gear and do some domestic stuff around here and in the garden.
Have a wonderful sunshine day everyone and love and many hugs
Thea
Thea, you are always on the run lol don't overdo in the garden! Any news on appts. for testing and/or surgery?
Been thinking a lot this morning about Dianne and Warren, prayers coming their way...
Wonder Thea if we'll be saying the same thing about 105 temps come January..am sure we will..there is much to keep one busy, not always blizzards, actually it's beautiful..from time to time I get to skate, snowmobile, set my skii's aside though, walk through the glitter of diamonds as the frost covers the trees..a sight to behold..most times it's not more than 4 or 5 days we are housebound the rest we can enjoy..well maybe not shovelling!
YOU'RE WONDERFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!
Maybe you wish you were different somehow. More of this, or less of that. Better. Perfect/ But no one's perfect!
and if you are thinking you need a major makeover-or even a mine one!- think again. You don't have to change a thing to make yourself special. YOU are already amazing!
Found in woman's world magazine that I'm reading..how true it is..you are all amazing!!!
Betty I am sitting here laughing ....all this talk about snow.
