The only problem with the cutter, is that it waste a lot of fabric.
Guess I will have to get it out and see what I can do?
Crissy, we are all praying her gets the job. If they go through the expense of flying him out there, it sure sounds like the news will be good! Let us know when he starts working.

Marion...I say you NEED to come down here with that cutter!!!! and we can play together!!!! :) :)
Sounds like a plan Thunder. LOL
^_^
Oh thanks you guys! He has another job on the line in case this one falls through but it's not near as good and it's based out of South Africa which I'm not liking at all, so He Has To Get The Job That Will Send Him To CA!!!!
I found this online. Wished I would have known sooner, but it's not too late so I am going to get a few of these and plant them around my Brugs. I
Selecting plants that grasshoppers find distasteful can help deter them from the garden and surrounding areas. Some of these plants include:
Dianthus
Lilac
Forsythia
Crepe myrtle
Moss rose
Verbena
Salvia
Sage
Lantana
Juniper
Artemisia
Jasmine
Good luck Dave. Sounds like he scored that job in Ca. Errr..don't ever change Crissy!! I tend to be drawn to a live wire than a "downer"!
You all would love MaidM too. I recall how she made a grand announcement when she came down the steps in BJ's garden. If my legs weren't in pain, I would have given her a standing ovation!!! Lolol.
Yep, we need a quilting retreat with MaidM and LK's AccuGo. So.. TX or FL?
Looks like Florida in 2013?
Sorry Cindy, I have placed pots of brugs around Forsythia, Crepe Myrtle, Moss Rose and Jasmine. The grasshoppers leave these alone, but that don't stop them grasshoppers from feasting on the brugs.
I got so upset that I even use RAID on one brug!!! Did kill some grasshoppers, but unfortunately I burnt the leaves.

Oh my Jaye! I have a serious case of CRS about what I did. Now I see it shall come back to haunt me. LOL Now exactly what was my "grand announcement"?
Sitting here anxiously awaiting an update on Mom. She had a very rough day today and I am ready to go at a moments notice. My sister wants me to stay put for awhile until they can find out what is happening. She thinks most likely another UTI--if so she wants me to wait and come when I can spend a couple of weeks or so.....which is what I have been planning to do. She knows I have doctor's appointments this week and the first of next and would rather I keep them rather than have to turn around and make that 7 hour drive again in few days.
Have a good evening all.
Oh my MaidM... I feel for your mum. The last UTI took a heavy toll on her body.. hope it's just a simple infection. We'll pray that she can be treated.
But you need to take care of your own doctor's appts.
If memory serves me right... you were at the head of the steps, arms outstretched and said "Here I am sistahs.. Abbisgranma or better known as Maid Marion to you all!!"
If you could have seen my smile, you would have seen it in my eyes too!!
Good night sistahs. Sleep well...
Oh I do remember----must have been "drive crazy". LOL That was a fantastic weekend and I so hope we all make it to Betty's next year!!! I am putting my pennies (nickels, dimes and quarters that the 'lil girls don't get) into a jar so I can go.
I haven't heard from my sister yet which worries me. Yes, each time she gets a UTI it drags her down more. Jaye, we actually thought at one point today she might be headed to a diabetic coma. Excessive thirst, confused, nauseated, etc. but no blood sugar was 137 and they said that was okay. Then she started complaining of lower back pain so we are waiting..................
Good evening all!! I'm baaaaaaack from camping - had a lovely time with friends, and going for English Tea, and .... ahem...... buying things!
Cleaned the motorhome, shampoo'ed the rugs, fixed the screens, etc
Will check with you later...
hi ladies
Welcome back Susan
crissy with out your voice you just wouldn't be any fun ! never change girl. :) will you move back to CA ? if Dave gets the job ?
Thanks Jaye.... love you girl.
Marion i sure hope you mom can get rid of that infection. not fun. T&P for your mom .

i took her to Lane Bryant due to the fact her outfit was awful !! her huge stomache hung over her belt ect... holes and tears in a skirt that was to sheer for a girl ..... Laaawdy Lawdy that girl of mine.... what is wrong with dat crazy head of hers ?
but the outfit i got is very nice and pretty on her.
good night
Jaye Betty has 2012 sewed up for the reunion, she wants it to be at her house.
Sue the job is here in Little Rock, they're opening a new factory on Nov 1st and they're doing all the training at the current factory in Pismo Beach.
Oh Marion I hope your mom is ok, I agree that you should stay put and wait until you can spend some time, driving 7 hours back and forth takes a toll.
Awww, severe infection can cause those symptoms, MaidM. Doctors better find the right antibiotics for your mum tomorrow.
Sorry folks.. yes Crissy, I meant to write 2013!! No way I can plan for 2 trips unless I found that pot of gold.
Welcome home Susan!! So.. a new motor home in your future?
Hmm, Sue.. instead of cutting fabrics with a rotary cutter, AccuQuiltGo has created one that use dies. http://www.accuquilt.com/go-fabric-cutter.html
Won't be on tomorrow much. Got to bring one of the furbabies to the vet. Then have an appt. with an insurance agent. Why oh why do insurance cost so much nowadays?? Lord help the poor!!!
Goodnight... sweet dreams!!
Marion, we will continue our prayers for your Mom!
Jaye good luck at the vet, and with insurance company!
Thanks for the WB! No, Jaye - unless we win the lottery, we Sure Can't Afford a motorhome without jobs! lol
I'll tell ya though....... being able to lightly pack and lighly unpack was absolutely wonderful! No dishes/pots and pans, or condiments, or heaters, or beds to take - already there!!
Our friend Margriet gave us some relishes and pickles she made. It was good to see her and Winston, and their absolutely charming daughter Joslyn (4 yrs old in Oct). We're going to be keeping in touch, and they've invited us to visit their home (2 hrs away, so they said to come stay overnight sometime). She & I are both "into" canning, so that's kewl!
Sending prayers for your Mom Marion. I keep her in mine daily.
Betty showed me how her accuquilt worked. It is really neat. You can cut out the pieces needed for a quilt in minutes....
Jaye - I hope all goes well with your appointments.
Nice photo of your friends Susan. Glad you had a good time.
No problems here from the hurricane. Just water damage around NH.
Thanks everyone. I guess UTIs are to be expected at the point, just wish they didn't hit her so hard. After talking for a long time with my sister last night, we both agreed I should stay put and get my doctor's appointments out of the way. Then when I go down it will be for 2 - 3 weeks and the drive won't be so bad. I don't mind driving but I-75 is so long, straight and boring!!! Aren't most interstates?
Welcome home Susan.
Crissy, I had committed to 2013---so get 2 jars started for trips!!!!!
Well I have things to do, the first and most important is to adjust my timers on my sprinklers. It got turned off when we were having some daily rain and somehow got unprogramed.
Have a great day all and Jaye, have fun with the vet. Insurance---well won't even go there. LOL
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! Apple turnovers too!
Good morning, all! Well, I must have been tired last night - shut off the monitor, and forgot to shut off the computer....... siiiiigh lol
Just got an interview for tomorrow morning 11am - pastoral care office. as an assistant to the VP and a team of chaplains. It's a .6 FTE so 43 hours /2weeks. The highest they pay is $18/hour, and that's lower than what I'd been getting, but "what the hey". A job I can keep is still a job! Mon to Thurs, 9-3 means I get a long weekend Every week lol
I keep your mom in my prayers, Marion.
hmmmm getting jar started for 2012 let along 2013 is difficult! lol
Good luck on the interview Susan! Doesn't sounds like a bad job at all!
Looking forward to meeting my three interviewers
3???
yup, Shannon, Norm, and one other possible. It's not unusual to have more than one person interviewing, one from HR (to make sure everything runs according to Hoyle), and the person you'd be working for and/or with.
A panel interview! WooHOOO!!!
yuppers - it's the way I'm used to getting interviewed......... siiiiiiiiigh and the other type I'm used to is a BDI one (Behaviour Development Interview) where you have to answer "how did you handle this situation, and what were the results........" or "name a situation when....... and what were the results......."
That's wonderful news Susan. If it's God directed, you'll get it.
Long morning.. long afternoon.. chores never end.. when I think I can rest... wrong.
Had to wish a Happy Eid to my Muslim family on FB. Having a large family, cousins included, being on dial up is a constant sore.
Now I can finally relax and a fitting end to the day. Watching Anthony Bourdain's final episode on the Travel Channel, featuring Cajun country!!
Now you know I'm missing that part of rhe world. :(
Good night sistahs. I'll chat tomorrow. Mind's fried!
well, our Pastor directed it LOL
omg!!! I can't believe...not only New Orleans but Anthony Bourdain's eating good Cajun food in Breaux Bridge.. my old hometown!!! Like the Cajuns say.. some good eatin' yah.
Good of your Pastor to look out for you, Susan.
Night Sue!!
yes, he's a good man.
Met a couple I used to work with on the festival tonight for dinner. Haven't seen them in over a year and it was oodles of fun!!! Dinner was good also.
Off to bed, I am exhausted from putting the finishing touches on my utility room...a big room to say the least.
Jaye, may I ask what EID is?
Sleep tight!
Oh wow Marion, you're lucky!! That must be some awesome feast.
LK, Eid is the festival for the Muslims after Ramadhan. During Ramadhan, they fast for 30 days, from sun up to sundown. No food no drinks.. all that rites!!
I'm the only Christian in the family. Only one sibling disown me. That's okay.. I know where I'm going!! Sometimes I long to be with them for old memories sake, but I'm happy as I am now.
Oh Lord.. I see some faces I recognise. They're shooting a pig now for Cochon de Lait. For sure, I won't be sleeping LK, but I'll try!!
Oh it was good Jaye but what you are posting about sounds good also.
Ah good eye candy....maybe I need to check this out! LOL
Morning everyone!
