We're fortunate in that the worst we get is high winds and hail! Sometimes a prairie tornado hits, but not very large ones because we're inland.
Prayers for all those that are in the midst of damaging natural occurances, and for those that have other troubles.....

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! English muffins and crispy bacon!
Thanks LK for breakfast. I have some biscotti if anyone wishes to help themselves.
Good morning Phyllis!! Have missed seeing you and BTW, how is my puppy doing? I have been trying to read some things lately but unfortunately my eyes keep closing. At the rate I am going I will never finish a book.

Good Morning Ladies,
Here's a little chuckle to get your day started
Woman's Poem:
He didn't like the casserole, he didn't like my cake. He said my biscuits were too hard, not like his mother used to make. I didn't make the coffee right, he didn't like the stew. I didn't mend his socks the way his mother used to do. I pondered for an answer, I was looking for a clue, then I turned around and smacked the crap outta him...like his mother used to do! ^_^
LMAO Cindy! That's great!!!
Guinea hens make good gumbo!
Good morning sistahs. Thanks for coffee LK. I'll add a tbsp. of unsulphured molasses in mine.
That will sure boost up my iron.
Susan, you'd be ready for camping in a motor home! Oh I know you'd be enjoying yourself.. no tent to set up.. kitchen and b/room convenience and you'd be dry if it rains!
Crissy, most 3rd world countries that experience earthquakes are never given safety drills, or taught how to react.
So, naturally, first thing the natives would do, is run....
That's news to me too Pegi. I didn't know there are people who are born without tonsils. I wonder if I have my tonsils removed, will that makes my breathing easier?
Hi Sue. I heard that China is facing a recession, which is kept from the world. Maybe your DH will find a job close to home?
Strange ain't it.. America's recession affects the rest of the world? I say the rest of rhe world should help with our deficit to help them!
Hey Phyllis!! Hope you found homes for ALL your AFS kids.
That's such a funny one, Cindy!! You need to post that on FB.
Kel can't compare my cooking to his mum, as she burnt every meal!!
Marion, you're right. By Saturday, Irene is supposed to hit the Outer Banks. Hoping it will be just a Cat. 1 when it gets there. Better still if it deviates and disappear into the Atlantic.
I hope we'd be safe and the worse we can get are the rains.
In the meantime, getting all my documents together, a few clothings for just in case. And oh yes, filling up the generator!
Have a wonderful Thursday sistahs.
Well, I have extra beds here Jaye. Just be safe and careful please. I , too, which it would drop to a Cat 1 but unfortunately I don't see that happening. Bummer.
Back to moving cabinets...yes, you heard me correctly. I have some free standing cabinets I am moving in the utility room.
i have plenty of room here this weekewnd, if you need a place to stay.
i have about twenty of michaels family members coming for the holiday weekend.
need to go shopping
what to feed them?
Thank you Marion.. thank you Sis.
So far we're having a TS warning. Still, I don't take chances.. learnt from Andrew in La.!
Sis, maybe fried turkey! Or easier still, turkey gumbo? My mind is on turkey, huh? A good meatball stew is easy fixin'.
Marion, last night I stewed beef in onion stock for vaca frita. Will shred the meat, do a garlic paste and then fry them in small batches. Won't do saffron rice, but rice cooked in tomato sauce. I know Kel will like that.
Oh by the way, if you want a good British comedy series, borrow "The Chef" from Netflix.
Going back to bed.. :(
Jaye, sure hope you have called the Dr. for an appointment?
Oh Jaye the Vaca Frita sounds really good. I love rice cooked with tomatoes but Kim doesn't. Tell Kel he has good taste.
Will do and check out :The Chef". Haven't watched much television lately. With Kim teaching an extended day and back in school herself, there isn't much time left. While she grades papers or studies, I have been trying to read...not successful as my eyes keep shutting on me.
SISTAAAAAAH'S HERE MY CALL
I talked with Cookie and her mum is back in the hosp and it doesn't look good. :( she is so down and worried. Her bro is here from IN to help out with her dad .
So i call onto thee my sistaaaaaah's
tonight at 9 pm if we all take 30 seconds to do a silent prayer for her. We can send her the power of prayer from all of us .
REMEMBER TONIGHT AT 9pm Silent prayer vigil here . IF you think this time frame works for us ?
we can do another one in the am too for those of us who can't do that time frame.
good vibrations all flow to her with our Sistah power.
can i hear an AMEN SISTAAAAAH'S..... watch out . :) * snap with a double twist *
AMEN!!
Setting alarm now!
(((((((((((((((Joyce/Mom))))))))))))))))))))
Alarm set here too!
AMEN!
I'll pray constantly so I don't miss the time (I'm terrible about remembering my own appointments! AND I'm in MST so not the same as yours - I think it would be my 7pm, when it's your 9pm....)
Susan you're an hour behind us here in Central time.
ah yes, Central, but I think most of those on here are further east and therefore Pacific......
AMEN
Susan East is Atlantic, West is Pacific LOL Cookie's time is Central time and that's what you need to know, if I'm reading this right.
I used to live in Central, now I live in Mountain, and next to that (west) is Pacific. East is Atlantic (unless you count Newfoundland, and then it's 1/2 later still..... lol)
so, east to West, it's Newfoundland, Atlantic, Central, Mountain, Pacific (and Saskatchewan which should be Central does not do the "time change" keeps the same time all year - Central Standard) But of course the US doesn't keep the same time as Saskatchewan so it doesn't apply to the US. Are you confused yet?
Crissy - yes, I mixed the east/west coast times up, but I Do Know Them, really I do....... I was just applying to the wrong side of Canada..... duh!
I'm in Pacific time so have a little over 2 hours. I'm very forgetful too, goes along with old age, so they tell me.
I felt it!
I felt it!!
I felt it!
Morning everyone,
Just wanted to drop in with prayers for Joyce and her family and those of you in the path of storms..
Barb/Norm will be leaving this morning heading back to New Hampshire, little earlier than expected due to storms on East Coast.
During this visit we toured the Martyr's shrine and candle lit for Df Friends..
Morning everyone. Thanks for letting us know about Barb going home early. Saying prayers this storm will slow down, and it will go East. Jaye, we just heard on the news there is are mandatory evacuation orders for your state. Please listen, pack your bags and get to a safe area?
i m so glad you all felt it . i did too. i m sure cookie did too
get to safe high ground Jaye ! and everyone else in the wake of the storm.
T&P to Barb/Norm fof a safe trip
good morning
very tired.
i need to get this extra weight off. my thighs are touching and i don't like it ! back to the step aerobics.
I am still feeling it! This is such a bad time for Cookie without having the broken leg. Sending more prayers today and hugs!!
Jaye, check in please......remember you are always welcome here.
Need to finish the project from yesterday as my new freezer is to be delivered in the morning. Wahoo, now things won't fall on my toes (ouch) every time I open the one on the frig. Later............................................
For some reason I'm thinking Jaye lives way inland, Jaye Jaye Jaye!!
I'm tired today but someone needs to come to work I guess! LOL
Jaye is inland but right on the state line so to speak. Northwest of Myrtle Beach area and the map on google shows she could get getting some outward bound "mess" from Irene but it appears she isn't in the warning area. Of course remember these maps aren't always as accurate as can be. Still not a good place to be with something like this in the area.
Prayers for all those in the wake of Irene - including Jaye, Dianne, Barb & Norm........ I saw there is an evacuation order for NC..........
heading out camping - in a motorhome, and won't return until Sunday sometime.
have a great and safe weekend, all!
