Have a great time Susan!!!
►Sweet Interruptions◄ 225
Jaye is only about an hour from the coast, so I pray she is busy packing, and driving west!!!
Good Morning...
Oh goodness, lots of prayers continue, for All, safe travels, for safety for all in Irenes path. Jaye, please check in.
For those who were shaken up in the earthquake...For Healing of the heart where sadness is.
Sending (((((((((((((((ARM WRAPS SISTAHS ALL)))))))))))))))))
Susan, have a wonderful time and safe travels.
I wish to thank you all for your support and Arm wraps...Tomorrow is going to be pretty tough. It's the day of the service for Brian.
But for today, I am excited to say...My Hibiscus has finally Bloomed!! It's a very pretty pink. LOL, will take picture as soon as battery charges.
And tonight, my son's first Home game!! Woohoo, he finally got his Wings(Varsity helmet) and is so excited...This year he is playing Defensive Tackle #50.
Game's at 7...
I've been ordered to leave the house today, so Going to menards to get a few things.
On a bad note, yikes, the ceiling finally gave way in the sun room...So, have to figure out when it can get replaced, We were just glad no one was standing under it, OMG, poor birdy, Literally scared the crap out of her. She was shaken for quite a while and would go anywhere near the room. We took turns holding her telling her it was ok.
Marion, Sounds like your project is coming along nicely...Please don't over do.
Well, I've lost it! Too many things going on i guess, i lost a piece of fabric, tore the entire craft area apart in search, so not cool, project is due by months end!!
So glad to see you post Crissy, was getting a bit worried...Glad you've been busy though. And I hope something Good happens for Dave, Best Wishes for the interview!
Sue, I was sorry to hear you were having some problems, I hope that things are working out.
Sistah Jaye, I hope you and Kel are safe..Please head to instruction to evacuate
Ok, off I go, lots to do today..
Good morning sistahs!
Somehow I woke up at 10pm. last night and started praying for everyone!!!! Not kidding y'all!!
Ahh, now I understand, a requested mass prayer for our dear sistah Cookie there.
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst" So I know God is listening.
You all are so special.
Will say a prayer for Norm and Barb's safe journey home.
Sistah Judy!!!! I'm trying to finish People of the Longhouse!!
Crissy, TGIF sistah!! Where do you intend to go this weekend?
Susan, have a lovely trip. I see a travel camper in your future, if not a motor home. You can buy a fifth wheel.
Yes, Maid M is right. We are hinging on the border of SC, next to the town of NMB. So far we've been warned of Thunder Storms and flash floods. I'll take neither!
Evacuation is mandatory for immediate area around Outer Banks...Nag's Head. It's practically an annual thing for those towns, yet property prices there are the highest for NC!! Go figure!!
Thank God, it's down to Cat. 2.
LK, I can't make a 'proper' doctor's appt., until Kel officially finish school.
I strongly suspect that my headaches are food related. Today, they're kinda dissipate as I had beef yesterday.
So, I'm making a diary of foods I eat, and the reaction. Would love to be a vegetarian again, but living in the boondocks, am limited to the choices available.
Plus why must healthy food be sooo costly?? My sister was complaining that it's difficult for her to feed 4 kids when prices of meat skyrocket. Told her to come to the states and she'll be suffering as there's no such thing as state subsidised medical.
Guess Judy and I do si doed.
Who's Brian?? I'm sorry if it's on another thread and I failed to read the post.
Judy, seems like your world has been topsy turvy after the gathering.. ((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))
I still haven't touched the machine, so I'll be late, which is nothing unusual. Guess I'll keep Marion company!
Jaye, turn on your phone please? trying to call you.
Brian, was her hubbies co worker. He passed away last week.
Jaye, Irene may be a Cat 2 but don't under estimate her. She is a large hurricane area wise and that is part of the problem. Just be careful (I know you will but it is the "mother instinct") and don't take any chances, please!!!!
Susan, have a nice trip.
Well it is back to the project at hand....just needed a tea break and time to cool off.
LK, sorry..phone's ringer is on now!! Lolol!!
Marion .. okay .. I shan't be trivial about this. Getting some laundry done so no one can see soiled underwear should the house toppled!!
Joking sistah!! Yep, got my impt. documents together, some clothes packed.. but for my rescues sake.. praying that this hurricane would keep losing strength.
We're getting the rains now. So if I'm not online.. continue to pray for us pls.
Praying big time here for all in the path of this "lady".
Jaye so glad your not in the real bad area's of Irene. Stil sending safety prayers for you , Kel and the babies.
Hi Judy girl your a busy mommy and crafter ! wish i had your energy. :) things are back to normal here. Yes i was having some marriage trouble and welllllll..... my drinking was getting bad. *bow head in shame * slowly tappering off the alchol, sugar and salts. maybe by next week i will be free'd of it all ? who am i kidding LOLLL
Jaye i m going to start a diet i found . its vegatarian. Its a $50.00 a week to feed two people.
so its things like eggplant lasagna
green bean with tomato salad. light olive oil vinagreatte.
baked squash with roasted onions and basil pesto.
i can give you the info if you like ?
Have fun Susan on your trip
well off to some laundry calling my name
Sue, please share some of the recipes if you can. They sound good.
Thought I'd drop in to make sure you are all safe, know there are some nail hitting times coming up...am hoping Irene will decide to head into ocean leaving little to no destruction in her path...
Barb and Norm if all went well should be stateside by now, then, after listening to news of Irene will decide if they will continue their journey or spend the night inLewiston, Buffalo area....
In the meantime I'm waiting for Barb to do her journal with photo's but thought I'd add a bit about our visit..should you want to have a sneak preview come see

I second that motion Sue, would love to have recipes also. Not the eggplant though...............
I am home boy is it hot here, about 10 degrees hotter than Auburn but I'm happy to be home Doug and Harlee missed me big time. Every time I tried to hug and kiss Doug, Harlee was right in the middle, lol. She hasn't had much exercise so tomorrow off to the lake we go..................My daughter did not want me to go. She wasn't going to let me out of the driveway, lol. I told her I was not that far away, just a phone call and 45 minute drive but it's still too far for her, lol. I do wished we had a huge house where all of us could live together. By huge I mean really huge, like the 10,000 sq. ft house I used to clean. It would be perfect for us.
My late husbands brother lives in Ashburn Virginia wonder if this storm is close to him???? Do keep in touch with in-laws at all so I have no clue.
Jaye and whoever else this storm is affecting know that I am praying for your safety, Love Ya All
Just a quick message to let you all know that Norm and I arrived home safely. Left Betty's at 10 AM yesterday morning and got home at 1:30 AM this morning. A long drive but we are home and I will catch up a bit later. Thanking all of you for your prayers for us...Hugs, Barb
Glad to hear your home, safe and sound! Praying that storm Irene, fizzles out on all of you!
Morning Sue!
A message I have been waiting to read Barb. I am glad you and Norm are home safe albeit tired. Check in with us when you can and be safe.
Alrighty, sistahs.. you all can breathe easy now.
The storm hit us early, but we get only rains and praise the Lord that it didn't gain strength, if not the damage would be worse for this area.
Marion, Cat. 2, you're right, shouldn't be dismissed easily. Back in La., when Breaux Bridge got hit by hurricane Andrew, it was Cat. 2 and we lost a dairy, a garage, some hurricane fencing, mature fruit trees and a barn.
That time, I was trembling in fear, anticipating the worse.. and the worse hit.
This time, it seems that I gave a devil may care attitude, but I was actually leaving the worrying to God, but did my best to be prepared. Plus, this time, there are more sistahs like you all to pray for me!
Cindy, as Marion had said, this hurricane is WIDE. Covering an area more than 300 miles, and if Ashburn is anywhere within 1-5 miles drive from the coastline.. your cousin might be affected. Best case scenario, just a scattering of rain.
This town some old men sipping coffee this morning were overheard saying that it was such an inconvenience for the nursing homes, shelters and hospitals getting prepared. Then the worries that go with having all emergency personnel on standby,
Rather be prepared than sorry right?
We did a late night grocery shopping and surprisingly the food shelves were still well stocked, and that includes bread.
But not the pet aisle!!! We were lucky to have the LAST bag of kitty food!!
Barb, glad you and Norm are both home, safe. If you were to be on the roads today, it might be 50% visibility with all those rains.
Nothing like to be home before rough weather hits.
Well, Kel finished school yesterday and he graduated 3rd. in class. For an old man (45) he sure did well, having some useful brain cells left. Apparently his mother hadn't fried them all!!
He was so excited yesterday, and his biggest fear was not remembering what he'd studied. His whole class passed and according to records, that's the first time in NC state history.
No.. it doesn't mean a wage raise. Sadly, the state had stopped giving raises 4 years ago. And yet the taxes keep increasing.
Sue, please don't try to kill your pain by resorting to alcholic drinks. Drink in moderation dahlin. Please.... Austin and Savannah think you're the VIP in their world. Do all things that are favorible for their sake.
When we were first introduced, I knew instantly you're one terrific person. Don't let the uncertainties of a relationship 'change' your whole demeanor.
Ahh.. didn't we had such a terrific time at Cookie's last year? God mades sure Cookie's party went on smoothly.
Cookie, we're still praying for you, your mum and especially your family to help you.
On a different note.. Chrissy, the moment I set eyes on her, I just want to laugh along with her!! She does that to me.. yep!! Lol!! And you can say the affection for her is instantaneous :D
Oh dear.. Hambone's barking.. gonna check.. brb
You don't know how good it felt to see you posting Jaye. Glad everything is okay. I do believe in preparing as the alternative is so rough. Hoping everyone up the coastline continues to fair well through this mess.
Off to Home Depot to get some items needed to finish up the utility room. New freezer in place and oh how I love it. Looks small beside the frig but it is all we need.
Later.
jaye, so relieved you are ok.
Glad to see you posting to Jaye. Glad you did not have to pack up all those critters along with yourself and scoot to safety.
Thank you Marion, LK and Sis.
Cindy, I've been having grasshopper problems and they'd eat through whatever's applied on the brug leaves. Could also be caterpillars chewing throughout he leaves. But then, you'll be able to see those cats and the leaves would curl.
My opinion? I bet they're grasshoppers.
The burnt part looks as though it's reacting to some chemicals.
so glad you all are all safe
praise God .
jaye i usually have one glass of wine in the weekends but it got up to 3 glasses LOL just to help me sleep wich it didn't LOL uhg. then i ate .... then my thighs didn't agree with that.
wish you all safe and healthy thoughts
did applesauce but it wasn't right to me ? not my best . so i will have to try again.
got onions in the dehydrator
tomatoes roasting in the oven
whew i m tired
oh got laudnry too
Sue, I don't mean to be critical. Just love you too much to see you in pain.
Perhaps you can "celebrate" the week by getting some good liquer and some pate? Wish I'm nearby, we'd do the celebrating ;)
I have found that one glass of wine helps me sleep, if I have more than one glass, it makes me hyper.
Cindy, I agree with Jaye, it looks like maybegrasshoppers may be the culprit? There are some grub type things thatncome out at night. Maybe take a night time stroll and see if you can catch anything!
LK, you are so right. When I have more than one, I won't be able to fall asleep long. Just a couple of hours, then I'll be awake.
My sister's the same way too. Just a few days ago I came across an article saying that the body try to "righten" itself if you take more than a glass of wine.
I have 4 Brugs and that is the only one being attacked But something was eating the leaves of my Passion Flower. I told Doug I thought it was grasshopper
Good Morning Ladies,
Suppose to be 100 today ugh. We were invited to go boating today but then saw the guy last night and he said he probably wasn't going to take boat out but still come over they have a pool. I think I just want to stay home in a/c house today.
I get these craft magazines and saw this niffy little thing. If any of you scrapbook this is handy but it also cut fabric for applique
http://www.whyslice.com/
Happy Sunday, may it be a blessed one for all!
((((((((((((((((((Sue))))))))))))))) ty for forgiving me. I am you may say, prone to excessive 'concern' over ALL my sistahs here. I won't say the 'w' word, as it has negative connotations :D
Hurray for your choice to return to healthy eating. Wish I could afford the weekly vegetarian diet.. that's 3/4 weekly food budget for Kel and me. Meat cost is atrocious, and I help myself to only 1/3 compared to his meat serving portion.
I found too that smoked meats or any meats with nitrites or nitrates give me headaches.
So, that's one item off the list.. which includes BACON!!
Today for me it will be urghhh brown rice with black eyed peas with sauteed onions. This will be easy as Kel is working the whole day.
Cindy, I notice that grasshoppers do have voracious appetites of certain brugs. If the leaves are poisonous to our pets, why aren't they to these pesky critters!
Smart of you to stay cool. Better avoid the 3 digits temps.
I went to that site, and that's a die cutting tool!! Except that it's hand held and much cheaper!! Whoa... I wonder how many dies come with the cheapest model. Beats cutting by hand. Thanks for letting us know.
LK.. have you used your "Go Quilt Cutter" yet? Last year, Kel almost got me one, the big set. But when I told Kel that the extra dies cost, he kinda sheepishly said.."Guess we'll think about that huh? But it's up to you!"
No regrets, as the sizes are limited.
But if it's free, I'll certainly be cutting away...
Nope, didn't go to church today. Somehow Lord says, church at home :D I love my church, but not the way the service had been going on. I'm glad my pastor took heed of our last convo as he had been calling and I had been avoiding them!!
I'm sure next week, my heart and mind will be clear, and it will be okay for me to return to church.
My poor Pawlonia tree. It's bent by the winds, hopefully with time, it will straighten itself up.
Time for me to get busy sewing!!!
Praise the Lord, none of my sistahs fall victim to Irene.
Morning Jaye, glad to hear damage is a minimum for you!
Praying everyone else on the coast is fine too! Looks like it will continue up to Canada?
No I have not used my go cutter yet. I have bought a set of dies, that cut triangles, but it still in the package!
What are you waiting on LK!!! Oooh you could make a wall hanging with just triangles!
Afternoon all. Very slow day here as I guess I was exhausted last night. I didn't wake up until 10:30 and totally surprised at the time. Kim had been up, cooking her beans for refried beans, made coffee and almost finished with this weeks work for her college course. The fact she just let me sleep is wonderful.
Sue, you have "tons" of support her girl!!! I am so sad I didn't have the opportunity to come to Cookie's last year so I could met you; however, I feel like I know you anyway.
Morning LK...so use the cutter and tell us how it works. Mine is still in the box also...LOL. Please don's ask how long I have had it as I will have to plead the 5th.
Cindy, inside for me also. To hot for anything else.
AWWWWW JAYE!!!! Thank you sweetie, that's one of the nicest things someone has ever said to me. Usually it's "You're laugh is too loud, you need to tone it down, change your personality or something." Yeah Right! I don't think so! I'm glad you're safe from Irene, looks like it's got NY inundated with rain!
Cindy grasshoppers and caterpillars are eating everything including my brugs out here. It's horrible.
((((((((SUE)))))))))))
It's supposed to be 108* today with the heat index, so early this morning I got up and went out and weeded the bed that's against the fence, what a mess!! How do I let it get so bad before I do anything about it???
So this company in Ca that Dave is trying to get hired for is flying him out there next week for an interview, they've sent him the benefits package and done a background check. Does it sound to everyone like he has the job?? It does to me!
