Morning everyone!
Betty, glad to see you posting. Figures you were just tired after the trip, and fell asleep! Love the pictures. Please show us your potlady, that Judy made???
Katie, I have seen walls painted like your talking about. I think it is called faux painting? Makes it look like leather or something?
Post pictures when you can please?
Crossed posted with you Betty! Love those pot ladies!
Betty - those "pot people" are sooooooo CUTE! Love 'em!
Wow - when I was in Chicago it was only in the airport for the 12 hr layover when our plane was late for the connection (by 4 minutes!) and as we didn't know anyone in Chicago, we stayed in the airport! siiiiiiigh 9am to 9pm...... so didn't get to see any of Chicago (that was in 1999)
When did Trump Towers get built?
Kenny!!!! tsk tsk tsk..... LOL
Betty, please post more. Although I have driven through Chicago many times, I have never stopped to enjoy the scenery!
Hello Everyone!
Just popped in to say Hi! and let you all know I'm fine. I've been keeping busy while SIL is here and have had my Mom down for the last week. Just finished giving her a perm and now will go fold her clothes I washed and put the last load in dryer. My Sis is picking her up later today. We got the deck done so will go out and enjoy that. I took her to Omaha to buy her material for her quilts and so I washed it and will press it shortly and will have to go up later to help get it all cut and put together. Will check back in again when I get the chance. The temp is only 77 degrees today so absolutely beautiful. I know that LK is still having terrible heat and drought. My heart goes out to them. I hope everyone is doing well and please take care and have a wonderful day.
Love to all, Shirley

What a surprise and a welcomed one at that to see you post Shirley..you have been a busy lady..drats, couldn't you come to my house, called to have hair cut and perm scheduled for Saturday, no go..have to wait until Tuesday night because she has a large wedding party Saturday..you could make me look so pretty.
Glad you got to visit with your mom, know how worried about her..will you SIL stay for a bit longer...ooohhh must see deck photo's, can see you sitting there resting, great to see because you never stay still.
LindaKay, ouch, got to tell you, I like heat but I'd be moving...
$85.00 for 2 hrs. use
They give you 15 minutes of instructions then send a guide with you to tour the Magnificent Mile..think you got way more bang in doing the boat tour...1 1/2 hrs. for $25.99 which I thought was cheap/cheap..still told me that the tour boat had been in business for 75 years doing same, family made mega $$$ and now wants to give back to the City..their way is giving visitors the opportunity of seeing shoreline
CHICAGO (AP) — The Picasso, the Bean and now the Blonde Bombshell.
A 26-foot-tall sculpture of Marilyn Monroe in her most famous pose was unveiled on Chicago's now-truly Magnificent Mile Friday morning.
Passers-by wasted little time positioning themselves under her billowing skirt to get a subway-grate view of Monroe in the same stance as she appeared in "The Seven Year Itch."
The area is known for unusual public art displays. Years ago, Michigan Avenue was lined with fiberglass cows.
And in the same plaza where the Monroe statue now stands, another sculpture by the same artist, Seward Johnson, was put up: a tribute to the farmer and daughter of Grant Wood's "American Gothic" fame.
The Marilyn Monroe statue will stand until next spring.
