Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends...

Victoria Harbour, ON

45 miles from Canadian border, should be home by late afternoon....what a day..omg found myself hugging and laughing within young men..steve and Judy must think I've lost a few marbles..found them on the 96th floor of Hancock building while having drinks and lunch...

And while on the 96th floor went to washroom, entire front of washroom stalls you faced the panoramic view of Chicago..wasn't about to close the door, nope, too much beauty..sooo took some phto's just so you can see!

Hundreds of photo's..got to tell you I've never seen a place so beautiful, clean, overwhelmed by it's beauty..not even my neck of the woods can compete.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Meant to say I'd love to chat, but am sooo tired, will chat later..my men must have tired me out..don't have a deli man but man oh man they were cute..
Linda Kay one from San antoniotexas, one from new Hampshire and one from Kalamazoo Michigan, 3 cousins..think the have another view of old ladies...lol

Lyndonville, NY

Did you tell them you are a Canadian Cougar?

Sounds like a wonderful time, can't wait to see the pictures!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm sure they gathered that,,lol

Judy said after I left they said they thought their grandma was cool but I was the coolest

Yes, you missed one heck of a time!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Me too! get a good nights sleep, and travel safely tomorrow!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, up and ready to finish last part of our journey! Always nice to go away but also nice to get home.

Glad we also toured Frankenmuth, the flowers were outstanding, hard to believe the area has been in drought.

Not much shopping, too busy for that, did stop a cracker-barrel last night though and bought a beautiful top and matching arm bracelet for Cathy seeing as she looked after the dog and kitties..

Got an email from Greg last night reminding me I always look after Ned while they are on holidays, I dont remember doing it every year but guess I'm coming home to visintimg doggie.

Well almost ready to leave so off I go

Waving to all

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty hope you and Ann have a nice drive home, I've never seen Chicago but I've heard from many people who have visited there that its wonderful. LOL Deli Man, gotta have something going on, right?

Debbie if kids need help you are always there, good for you!

Well I need to get my thoughts together, I have a lot on my mind

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good morning, all!! Up and at 'em - ready for another week!~
Betty - hope you have an uneventful and wonderful-at-the-same-time drive home to the visiting doggie! Cracker Barrel - you can buy clothing there?!

Crissy - hope your thoughts come together well..........

Need to get stuff in gear - sorting my sewing room, housework, etc.

Lyndonville, NY

Cracker Barrell does have a couple clothing racks, very very nice things! Quite a larger selection of childrens than adults. Most adorable young infant and toddler outfits ever!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

(sorry, it's how I feel) - I just got a call from a secretary from the company I worked for - asking about a purchase req for lanyards of all things!
They have a new secretary in my old position (for about a week) and now they can't find the files I created.
maybe I should tell them I'll start charging if I get calls (hourly rate, as per my old position!)
Sorry for the vent, etc, but I'm really upset. Not crying anymore, as I've called a friend and off-loaded some of this on her lol

Lyndonville, NY

Susan, I am very sorry for that issue. You should have replied "When I left...it was in XXXX. BUT where the people who filled in after me put it, I don't know".

Gosh, that is such a hard thing...and for them to call you about it after so long. Nervy!

mulege, Mexico

Did they lay you off? If so you should definately charge them - in advance - for anything they ask you to do. It totally sucks.

My friend Jim and I used to use - "If my index finger was a loaded weapon, overpopulation of the world would not be a problem."

Rant and rave to your friends then send the a..holes a bill.

big hug, katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, well the last time she called me (same person!) was 3 weeks after I got let go, and they apparently had a chat with her saying she shouldn't be calling me. Guess the "chat" didn't "take" cuz here she is, calling about non-consequential things again!!!!!!! I don't need or deserve this.
Debbie - unfortunately I find I can't say the words telling her I can't help anymore. It's not in my nature, and besides, the company needs to know she called. I should not be the one to reprimand her. I know, I know..... I should tell her, politely, to get lost but it's not in my nature.......

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

They called me in at noon on June 8th, and let me go for "no cause". I didn't get to go back to my desk (this hurt more than anything, because I would Never do anything to my files to jepordize the company or job), so I was not able to help the next person or tain them. Personally, I would do this, and would, but didn't get the chance. My ex-bosses are in HR and they do everything by-the-book. Wish they'd get others to do the right thing! This woman had been told 1 1/2 months ago (when she called last time) NOT to call me for anything.

Lyndonville, NY

Susan, I do understand.....100%. Thats why I have yet another strange child living in my house who needed help. It is NOT in my nature not too help them.

Evening all, got home about an hour ago, could have been home about 2... Great driving!! Took a road trip through menonite country, ST.Jacobs..enjoyed the small town, so nice to see them driving their wagons to town..relaxing, thought as it's about 150 miles from here we might as well jaunt out.

Tired, not going to post tonight as it's off to bed but I definitely will catch up tomorrow!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad you're back, Betty!! I know you've been posting, but we've MISSED YOU anyway!

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, he has NO job, he has no clothes...he has not much of anything. BUT he sat down with me tonight...filled out quite a few applications. He is full of hugs and tears.

Baton Rouge, LA

Oh Geez Deb ! What size is he? DS is not a big guy... but has a huge bag of clothes he just cleaned out from the closet....DS19 is about 5'8" and 150 lbs.....

Poor guy... he's got to have a HUGE heart to bring the CAT with him.... ((HUGS)) not your usual teenage boy thing....Good thing he is filling out applications....

Deb - you are an ANGEL ! Love ya gal

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Mary - are you still up? I rather suspect you're not, so won't call, but let me know when it's a good time for you and I will.
btw Mary - our time zone is Mountain, so it's 2 hours earlier than you (It's 9pm for me, and 11pm for you right now)

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, Nate is VERY tiny. Maybe about 5' 8 or 9.....but maybe a size 29 jeans?? Thats a guess. He has two pair of pants and a couple shirts. I have no idea what he would weight....I would guess 140 at the most?? He was SO excited because his sister got him a pair of calvin klein jeans from Macys for graduation.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

What I wouldn't give for a mday of just staying in bed!!

One thing I can do is have time today to go back and read and chat, excited about that !! Missed you all!!

Lexington Park, MD

Betty glad to hear you are back and sounds like you had a great trip. PICTURES?????
Debbie is there any way to sneak and get pant and shirt sizes?? I also have some clothes I can send your way.
School starts back tomorrow and I am ready. We have open house tonight and take supplies in with us and meet teachers.
Kids wear uniforms so no big issue there. No not a private school.
Family issue....I have to try and figure out how to get along with my stepmom :(
Going to visit my sister in Virginia Beach next month and I am so excited.
Goodmorning to all.

Lyndonville, NY

Gtood morning, woke up to a chill....and pouring rain. Feels good, but sure can see fall weather moving in fast here.

Laura, thank you....I will see if I can peek today. He is tall and thinner build.
I know right now he has two pair of jeans, calvin kleins his sister got him for $18 a pair for macys and he was SOOO excited and asking my daughter if they made him look "hot". "striking a pose". He is a character and makes me laugh.

I haven't had breakfast yet. Shane didn't get home from work til 1:20...so I was still up, then slept in til 8:15....and am just a wee bit dragging this morning.

"The child" Has her new wheels this morning....so I have my van back. AND...she has Traffic Court this afternoon....so, will see how that goes.

Going for a nibble....

Debbie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty glad you and Ann made it back safely! Did she have a good time?

I wish I had some clothes that would fit him but I don't :(

Hope everything goes well in traffic court for 'the child' YAY to having your van back!! WHEELS!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, so glad to hear she has her own wheels now!

mulege, Mexico

Glad the trip went well and you're home safe.

Also good car news.

I got a little brown bagging done yesterday. Finished the first wall. Half the second wall is preped and ready to be papered.

I'm sore all over but I slept long and hard.

Must go to town and do errands.

We have a place here called Plato's closet, It is sort of a Teen Recycling gently used clothing/consignment shop. I am taking him there in the next day or two. I have taken my daughters there, gotten some VERY nice clothing for $3 or $4 with the tags still on it from American Eagle or such. We will do just fine.

I will say...I am tired of all this rain, but it sure is nice to see green grass again instead of "the crunch" under my feet.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Katie I'm so glad you got some sleep!

Debbie I'm hoping to get your rain over the next few days, my yard is all brown and crunchy. LOL

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

we are having a loverly rain!! sorta slow and steady..not the usual down pour that lasts five minutes and just creates a sauna!!!! feels and sounds great, I got the windows open so I can listen...DH not home so I can do that yeah !! if he was here he would be grumbling about letting in the moisture!!! true enough, but once in a while...I think the house will survive!! and it doing my spirit wonders right now ^_^
