Thunder - I've never gotten on Skype, except when Charlene tried to get in touch - I didn't have a mic then but I do now. I signed up for Skype, but geeze it's expensive when we can't be using our credit card...

Check out Magic Jack. It's at WalMart and Radio Shack and other places. I had Skype but it quit working and they didn't fix it. Very frustrating.

All I know about Skype is that it wants me to "buy credits" towards time/chat.
Mary - you would Really have been cooled by the Ice Fields Bob & I went to in Montana on the 27th! Mind you, we were 6,680 miles above sea level, so it was cool in the mountains anyway lol
Here's some "hail snow" for ya, Mary - the weather was really hot yesterday, which is why we had the storms, but as we live close to the mountains, we'll still get hail! Mind you, we used to get hail in Winnipeg, which gets 100+F just before a hail storm!!

Mary, that picture is 2 years ago. My angel trumpets this year have grown maybe 2 foot, and that is it!!!
Most angel trumpets will open one color, but will change to another. That is the most intriguing part about them, waiting to see what color they are, and or change to! Then at night you get to smell the great scent they put off!

Skype has a free version and a pay version....if you have the pay one you can video chat with multiple peoples in different locations at the same time............we don't have that, just the free one, that is good enough for me :) I get to see my GD, and My Soldier, and my Sailor!!

Got to say Jacob has grown into quite a handsome man, full of charisma...of coure I always get a kick out of Kenny, liz's hubby..Debbie he hasn't changed! Lol. Showed me a few nasty things...steve, did a wonderful Bbq and then sat with Ann and have tomorrow planned..meeting for breakfast at 7am, off to Chicago waterfront, bought all our tickets online for boat tour, then walking the magnificent mile, dinner then well head home and they drive back o glenview..still more hugs to go aroun tomorrow

We have had such a busy weekend.....and today I was down at the lake for a graduation party.....playing with the nieces and my nephew....and I fell in the lake!!! Just wet up to the knees....but good heavesn!

We've had a heat advisory so working outside has been a challenge... But I did try to take cuttings of my White Wings Hibby. Plus tried to pot up some stuff in hopes for a future SWAP. LK - have one Cassia Cutting that is hanging in there....
I tried to take a cutting of a piece of a Red Canna that had broken off. Then read on DG... it doesn't say cuttings work for those... anyone know anything of that?
Also pulled up the dead tomatoes and bought some new to plant tomorrow.. tilled up the ground for them.

Mary we did have wedding last night.....which was BEAUTIFUL. Very nice reception also.
Graduation & birthday party today was nice also.
How did I fall. Well, the "beaches" up here don't have sand...they have rocks and gravel. Normally I can handle it....I could walk on broken glass or nails and it wouldn't bother me. NOT so today. Took a couple steps on the rocks without my shoes and...owwwwch. SO, I took a step into the water...as there is USUALLY a sand base with a few less rocks. Ohhh no, not this one....more rocks and sharp. Lost my footing and fell down on my knees!
No pain, nothing...just funny. Saved my camera....and provided laughter for the kids. All the laughing traveled up the hill....and DH came running. "WHAT are you doing?" I "might have" stuck my tongue out at him and said "having fun...go away". I spent most of the weekend....with my nieces and nephews....to avoid DH's "siblings" and my in-laws.
Now mind you...my nieces and nephews range from 3...up to 28. SO, I had a broad range and lots of laughter.
AND...of all things. The Reception tables were deocrated beautiful...with tall vases filled with "lighted" crystal beads....and a beta fish in it. Well, she insisted on giving away the centerpieces....no one at the table wanted the poor little fish....so it came home with me.
I don't know what to name him...but...he looks rather patriotic...I will have to get a better picture.
I will post some pictures tomorrow....need some sleep!!!

Some pretty plants I picked up last week.
pretty variegated purple Bougainvillea...
and a white one. The flowers turn a really soft pink as they age.
Gorgeous LK ! Bougainvilla look so tender but they must be more hardy than they look. I'd love to get a pink on one day...do they stay in pots ?

Well, Bob's fixing our deck right now, and we're trying to figure out what to do. It's spruce (cheap deck wood) which was never treated, just painted.
So, he's removing the rotted boards, and replacing it with more spruce, then he's going to power wash with deck cleaner, all the rest to get rid of the paint. Then we'll decide on waterproofing vs stain with wood protector. Personally I'd like to leave it wood coloured, but if we can't get all the paint off, we'll have to match it :-(

Bougainvilla is a perennial here, gets very large!! with very big and nasty thorns!! lots of people put it across the backs of their houses, under windows...theft deterrent ...no body gonna go through those thorns to try to get into the window!!! if you look close in the first picture you can see little thorns....they get bigger and bigger as the plant grows !! I think I might have a picture of a big one on my other computer..I will have to go look...
My son and DIL had beta fish as centerpieces at their reception!! I had two of them, one lasted about a year and a half, the other a few months longer.
Dianne, my schedule is crazy!! work 2-11 one night, next day have to be at work at 7 am, next day could be back to 2-11, or could be 11am - 8pm....goes all up and down!! very annoying!!! sometimes I even get to work from 4pm till midnight!!! I just worked tues - fri 1:00 -10:30 pm sat was 7am - 4pm today was 7am - 3pm, tomorrow is 1:00 -10:00pm 7 days in a row No day off!! when I work till 10:30 or 11pm I can not get to sleep till 4 or 5 am, then with daylight and neighborhood noise I can't sleep much past 10 am ...so if I am lucky i get 5 hours of sleep !! I am ok with it for 3 or 4 days...but then I guess it adds up and I get tired.....too tired to accomplish much of anything...but not tired enough to get a good sleep ( or maybe too over tired?) anyway it is crazy!! but I am thankful I have a job :)
yes, Thunder - you have a job :-) One thing I was told at a call centre is, if you're changing shifts (and theirs was 2 week span of same hours), let's say 1:00 to 11:00 followed the next day by 7:00 to 4:00, do not sleep between shifts and then sleep after your first new shift. It stabilizes your sleep pattern.
Yes, they have thorns, so be careful when your around them. They do get huge here also. Probably 6 - 10 foot tall. Lots of people grow them in hanging baskets too. They are really pretty when they bloom. Ours always die back in the winter, but always come back in the spring.

I asked DSD if she'd be home for dinner this morn... said she would so I cooked her 'fav' meal (at least the one she always grumbled least about). She ended up going out for dinner. HA! I'm not upset... really I'm not because at least one day she can't say I DIDN"T try.... This is prob the last day I'll cook before she heads to college. Anyway I froze a little portion for her to take with her.
I'll pop back in a bit... We did Wally World... then a little nap...then cooking and working outside. A good day overall...
