btw - speaking of sightseeing - I just watched a video I bought in Glacier Park re: Glacier and Waterton Peace Parks. I have some updating to do - f'instance:
At Logan's Pass we were 6,680ft above sea level - no wonder we were in the clouds among ice and snow fields and glaciers!
The yellow alpine flower we saw is the Alpine Lily and it takes several years to get through the ice (up to 8") and bloom
Ghost Island is actually called Wild Goose Island (ooopsie!)
At the beginning of the park (eastern end) is St. Mary's Lake, then it was 10 Mile Long Lake until the furthest west end where it becomes MacDonald Lake (we didn't go that far).
The "chipmunk" is actually a Golden Mountain Ground Squirrel
The Mountain Goat is really a Goat Antelope (although everyone calls it a Mountain Goat)
Logan's Pass is named after the first Wildlife Ranger
The long thin mountain up by Logan's Pass is called the Garden Wall
Waterton National Park (Canadian side) does not have any glaciers! (it's tallest mountain is over 9,000 ft!). Go figure, eh?

Here we are, about 1/2 hr from frankenmuth..little detour but what to heck, Ann wanted to see it..

Great ride, bit long but thought if I put a hard day in tomorrow would be easier..

Slight problem though, my car has never given me problems and as long as it's moving it's fine, when stopped in traffic gauge goes 3/4 of the way..never noticed that before so must get it checked out in the am

Otherwise, lovely room..same hotel the girls had before and Stacey and Janet stayed in..

I'd love to visit a Christmas Store - there's one in Banff, but it's a tourist trap, and I don't think I'll be going to Banff again. I'll have to try out new places - even new camping places lol

LOL... I just texted a pic of Belle to Hubs... He texted me back... his boss is coming to the Convention. All hotel rooms are sold out and he has a King bed.

Sounds like you need coolant Betty. With as hot as it has been, bet that is the situation. Good thing to have it checked as you do not want the radiator to blow traveling NOT a good thing.

Mary, I am on to him. He wants something. BUT, if he wants to buy me lunch I will let him.
He did do some talking....so we cleared the air on some things. He is very upset about not being able to go off to college as planned...and that we can't afford a Graduation party. THe girls all got one. And the graduation gifts are a big help for his expenses. He understands....but it still hurts. Can't blame him.

Have you MET Dh's Boss? Her name isn't "Sam" and she is blonde and 5"10"???? ROFL, yes, that should be all over the office....DH sleeping with the boss.

IF he gets housing....it is going to be January. Right now he is registered for on-line courses....and, we are already up to almost $500 in books. Yes, I know what he wanted...and he already got it, which is the "take him to sign up for music lessons". We came to terms on the deal....and we are splitting the cost. I want to make sure he is putting his "all" into it....and I think if he is paying for half...he will a little more. He needs this for his college classes in Jazz guitar.

Betty....DO NOT add coolant yourself....and do NOT add it if the engine is hot and sitting. Let it cool a bit....then turn it on and add coolant. You can crack the radiator from the temperature change.....so best have someone do it for you!

Betty - if not... sometimes an Auto Parts store like "Autozone" will have folks who will help you out....

Good idea Deb.... if he pays into it... he will be invested in it... Wish I could get my DS into something.... anything. Life must be way to easy for him and I need to figure out how to make him WAY uncomfortable....

Morning all, trying to be a considerate traveller and let Ann sleep! I'll give it until 7:30 then get mobile..always anxious to get a start to the day!

Had a busy day yesterday with Sean. He had a bit of a hyper day and was after my attention all the time. He just couldn't seem to settle. I think he may have had a bit of sugar before I picked him up. And then my dear honey got to come home last night (he's gone again already this mornig but home again for the weekend tonight) and then my friend Elaine came for dinner and sewing. We are making the Underground Railroad quilt together and assembled our first block last night. We got a bit of a late start due to dinner and chat but our first block is done. I'll try to get a photo later today.

I'm off soon to finish up our trip shopping. I want to get a bunch of the trial size personal stuff (like toothpaste and deodorant etc) so I don't have to bring full size. Then it's home to get my block of the month ready for BOM class next Wednesday. I think I'm caught up on all the swaps so far....I must go check. Norm wants to sit down with me and write out our route to Betty's and key it into the GPS. We got a new one that includes Canada so we should be right on track the whole time.

Sending prayers for Warren that he has pain free days ahead.

And prayers for Bev and Shirley too. Hope to you can pop in soon. We miss you both...

Just had breakfast, spoke to a wonderful young man who directed me only a block from hotel..coolant is down a bit, will have it upped, oixl change at same time, see what man says about gauge going so high, this man says perhaps relay switch

I'm having a lot of physical pain today but am feeling better mentally Much lifting of depression.

Dianne, remember there is a lot of gray area, not a black line. Many degrees of both coddling and being firm are fine. Let the little voice inside you guide you.

We have temps in the 90's with extreme humidity. Tony and I are both grumbling but not at each other.

The dogs are mostly lying around, something they do very well.

I am gradually getting organized to start some cool weather crops even though it's hard to believe that it will ever cool off.

Well, I just Had Fun (NOT!) Got startled (not hurt, thank you God!) when a rotted piece of decking broke under my foot. The hole is now big enough for Bob's size 13's!! We've lined up some spruce for replacing it, and Bob was going to replace 12 of 8ft boards we knew were going, but geeeeze! I'd just told him this morning that Margaret was going to give us 11 of 18ft boards she has "leftover" from some work he'd done on her roof, and he said he and "the other Bob" don't have any work next week and were going to replace them. What Timing!! I've put a piece of Hardy Board over the hole in the meantime.

Well, now it's time to clear the den - got a chest of drawers I'm going to put my fabric stash in, so it can be next to my sewing table. Also "the other Bob" is going to laminate (we have the laminate, not good at the installation) my sewing table (2 pieces, piano hinged together for folding)m - the table is plywood. So, I have to clear the area around it, and take the table off the "wall box" it's attached to. (If you remember, I have a "murphy bed" style of sewing machine table that folds up to the wall.

Oh Susan... that could surely have been worse...maybe good you found out it needed to be replaced... LK - I suppose I was dreaming BIG... but here I sit with nothing to do..... not till Monday morning... but I definitely could not have missed work next week and surely would have needed to spend more time...

I did look up plane tix and they were $500 ! Maybe if I dream like this from time to time... one day the cards will fall into place and I'll up and GO.....
Been tied down with kids so long... now all of a sudden I'm not....need to get used to the idea. Barb... PINK! LOL... I should have let them ALL know that the last to move out would be the first to lose their room LOL.... that would be a good one... DSD keeps acting like she's 'gone for good'... told us we should rent out her room at some point. HA...

Barb I LOVE little trial size stuff... always throw samples etc. in my 'travel drawer' and keep a 'travel kit' up ready to go at all times. Maybe I should have thrown it in a bag and headed to Chicago !
