Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! Sitting here waiting for the boys to get up. They will be going back tomorrow. I will miss them, but I am ready for some quite time too!

Thanks for the coffee LindaKay, you've done well keeping them entertained and giving parents a well needed rest. did you still have those two little kitties for them to play with?

Have you been in contact with your brother to see how he's doing?

Power came back on about 5:35 or so. I did a few things that needed done, and crahsed!

Betty, it is a good 8 miles to the DDs work, and she leaves here at 5:00 a.m. Still very dark. It just isnt safe to ride the bike that far or that time of morning for her.

I know Mary agrees with all of us regarding the party. Mary isn't the problem...its her DH & the girls. I don't know about your neighborhood....but most likely a neighbor will complain and call 911 sooner than later. I know of a Mom who went across the street of her sons grad party...with a cell phone...and called 911 herself. It had just gotten out of control and no one would listen....no it was NOT me.

They don't have the kitties anymore. Rory developed an allergy to them, so they found new homes for them.
My Brother was picked up by the police again, and spent the week-end in jail, for not going to his court hearing. He will be held till his hearing on Wed. He spent 4 days in a mental hospital, and was released, but I have not heard any results from that yet.

Mary! Glad you had a good time but have this party hanging over your head. If I would have done that, there would have been no party, but my dad would have never stopped me, he would have been in the party with me! Those teenage parties can get out of control real fast, especially with that many people, and those friends will bring more friends, and those friends will bring more friends, and so on. You're in a tough situation since those kids are step to you.

My son isn't having a Grad party, we just can't swing it. And...with the way he has behaved, Dad doesn't think he deserves one. But...YES I would be one to do that if the need be. lol

Well, "the childs" car is dead. Over $500 to fix, and she just put almost $600 in it in November a similar issue but this one went deep in the engine. Don't know how this is going to go as no one will give a 20 year old with no credit history a loan....and ours is shot, so not happening there.

I have a few plants "flat" but minimal damage outside....most to my face from lack of sleep! lol

Glad you don't have any damage Debbie. We had 3 days of 60% chance of rain and even thought it got loud I didn't get one single drop at the house.

Crissy I thought of you when I saw/heard this. NEVER saw anything like it in NY.
We had "cloud to cloud" lightening....jumping all over the sky. It was actually like having a strobe light going in the house....just non stop flashes. We had a few ground hits really close. Then the hail started....dang!

First - Mary, It's the part is posted on FB the cancelling of the party can be posted on FB and that's what I think might be a good idea. This is shaping up as a disaster. Perhaps you could hire a couple of off-duty cops to oversee but I urge you to consider cancellation.

Glad to hear you ahd a papaya. Best way to eat them is cut them in half, scoup out the seeds them eat the flesh with the skin as a bowl.

I'm feeling almost human today. Got some restful sleep last night. Tony is here. Weather is cooler than usual. "Uusual" for this time of year is so hot and humid that it's hard to breath let along do anything that requires a bit of energy.

Apparently things went from bad to worse on my old thread and Admin shut it down. I may have lost the one good friend I thought I had there. I think Admin handled it badly and told them so. But now I'm more annoyed than depressed so I think I'm letting it go.

I might not be around much for a few days or whatever. I think I need a break.

OOOO cloud to cloud lightening is gorgeous, especially when it's heat lightning. I'm not a fan of hail, especially anything larger than a pea!

Katie letting it go would be a great idea, don't dwell on the negative, think about the good things that come from that.

Debbie, lol when you were asked if it were you??? I could just see you now making the call and those pretty blue eyes looking so innocent..

Very good idea about having a couple of off duty policemen..charge would be quite a bit but well worth the damage or trouble there might be..know we are being overly cautious but we don't want anything happening..and yes, NOT your doing..I'd be so annoyed with DH letting her get her way, believe me I know where I speak from, exactly same thing happened when I ended up with step children..as you can see I stood my ground and now alone, but, I'd make same decisions..we are the ones in charge of the future generation, it's our responsibility to see that it will be in good hands...

Oh sorry to hear about your two kitties LindaKay, know your dad was partial to one of them...prayers for your brother, he is in so need of help right now, don't know why they let him out knowing he could be a danger to himself and others..system I guess.

Katie, I'm sure admn. did what they thought they must..we don't always know the entire why's and how comes, but with the amount of DG members I'm sure they cannot let what has been happening go on...so glad we're family here..as I said, sometimes it pays to read and re-read a thread with a positive outlook, so many ways to take things isn't there..you rest and know we are here!!!

Debbie, eight miles is quite a distance, can see why she couldn't ride her bike BUT, got to be something to set her straights..a thank you wouldn't hurt from time to time.

Crissy, the show was Horrible Bosses..language was a bit off the wall but was funny...

Kyle has been doing a few chores for me, just left to walk his dogs and will be back..I was painting and saying how the paint is not drying, so into the back room for de-humidifier and set it in the craft room..got to tell you, I am a lucky grandma!!

Tedious work taping squares..of course I would have to pick red/white checker board, first you have to paint the red squares grey otherwise they would never be true red... once the red squares are completely done and tape off, then I'll continue doing the last 1/2..

DH has his first radiation treatment at 4:20 pm tomorrow. They have to make it late in the day in case something goes wrong and they have to do it all over. AT least that is what DH heard. LOL

Well, something is going on with "The child" and "Middle daughter" Carrie. Shannon sent me a text that Carrie and Andy sent her a text saying that they needed to talk to her today. SOOOOO....conspiracy on my side is seen. It will be "Move in with us" ...."We will help you get a car" Or both. Which...although good...will add additional family strain with those two. I really want a do over....

Mary, I know we all have suggestions for you and the party, but I think everyone is correct. Please cancel the party, or tell them there will be NO BOOZE allowed! I like the idea of cops as guards, but then again, if you tell them your having a party with minors and booze is there, you will be arrested.
Dianne, I love the blue hibiscus, they are so pretty! I have a blue one too, but none of mine are blooming in this heat. Not even the four o clock!

Just spoke to Sharon, party is back on for mom..shaking my head..sh has been looking at cottages to rent for a week, not my kind of cottage..told her I had a friend who has cabins in honey Harbour, nope, doesn't want a cottage but a home type rental on a lake, away from people..told her she was being anti social and no wonder she's depressed..places she's looking at are between $ 2,000-10,000 a week..give your head a shake, that alone would depress me..

Called my friend Rita to see if her place is rented..large home on littly lake, lake I had my home on..so hopefully I can help her find something...told her to go to mom's cottage, nope it's on the river, she wants lake with dock..fussy ladyp

Debbie I agree with Betty, maybe it will be better in the long run, the child can't keep the peace and you can't hide who you are for very long, especially a live-in situation. It will end up not being good I'm sure but, I don't know, I don't know the situation but I think it would help for now.

LK Debbie has said to me that she lives in the country near Rochchester but not in the city limit. The state of NY is just like any other state, mass transportation in the big cities but if you're not in a city you don't get public transportation, unless you take a cab and that's way high.

Hydrangeas bloom in the summer til the first frost, mine are going crazy right now even though the tops of the flowers are getting sunburned.

Linda, the girls are right. I live in the "boonies". We are an hour from Rochester....to the East. And an hour from Buffalo/Niagara Falls to the West. We have a whopping 800 in our community....not even a stop light.

Our little town has quite a few Amish & Mennonite families, lots of dairy farms, and orchards galore. Behind our house is acres of new planted apple trees.

I was told Carrie & Andy are coming over tonight to talk.....this should be interesting. They want her...they can have her. BUT...Andy does NOT like her at all....so...don't know if that is it. He has refused to come to family functions because of "the child". SO thinking it might be more of a "co-sign" the loan issue.

get her a scooter!! great on gas!! don't need motorcycle license in most places!! check your laws first...they do need to be registered...home owners insurance covers them so no extra insurance payments!!!

My car that son was using died, just a while ago...we looked for used vehicles, and could not find anything decent that we could remotely afford. So hubs looked into the scooters...and that is what we bought, along with a good rain suit!!! son is making payments to dad to pay back for its purchase....he loves it !!! He has only about 6 miles to go to work, so it is working out very well for him for now....

Ought to be interestin Debbie..we'll all be waiting for an update and praying whatever it's for it will be in your favor!!

No can do on a scooter, she can barely ride a bike. Her balance is off due to her illness/radiation treatments. Didn't learn to ride a bike til almost 10....and vary rarely will as she wobbles all over the road. Besides that would work for 2 months....and then we have snow.

Awe Deb... Miss you all so much... My Gals... you are all correct which is why I'm in knots but DEB is correct - this party thing was all planned... no one has involved me in this planning whatsoever... which is another reason to be so mad but such is the way of DH... he lets them do as they wish which is why they have no manners and are so spoiled. (FYI - this house is in MY name only.... shouldn't that at least been a reason to ask me?)

I told DH that since I was not consulted... do not plan for me to even be here. That being said not sure I could carry though with it because I'd be worried (about Belle... the house... Dh's lack of responsibility). At one point Dh said his parents would come which woudl be SUPER however... that would mean I would HAVE to be here...

But all your concerns are valid... I'm assured alcohol will not be involved. DEB... love the 911 idea... Betty - 1 to every 10 is a good idea...

I know DH will have to either get DSD to clean up afterwards OR he will have to ! LOVE IT ! And I have a Hibby Club meeting 8/13 so they better not plan on me being here to set up for it... after all.... I wasn't even given a chance to offer my opinion,,, right ?

drats, yes I absolutely LOVE my ipad but it seems to write what it wants to write..one of these days I'm likely to get booted off DG for it's spelling..
