OMG Laughing so hard my teeth almost fell out of my head!!

Betty, Last time Liz and Kenny were at the Cottage, Liz and I went for a spin on the water donut and Steve made me give him my teeth!

Good for Steve, lol, know you would lose them..smart guy! It's the time you have to wait for new ones that's the problem!

Funny stories, my friends. I just had to have an adlut tooth pulled - my first and I'm seventy years old. And, lluckily it was almost at the back so the gap doesn't show.

I just woke up from a long afternoon nap. I'm feeling almost human again. Have to get the dogs' dinner ready before my poker game starts in half an hour.

It's a bit cooler than usual here. Cool enough for the a/c to help with humidity and make for a god long nap.

Read some Shakespeare this afternoon. "love is not love which alters when alteration finds."

Ohhhh Katie, so hopemyou win big bucks..mostly just fun right? Do they give you specific playing times? Are you on line with others..interesting..

Don't know what is worse, having tooth out or leaving it in..once it's out, end of toothache I guess...sure don't miss dentists..I virtually can eat anything anybody else can..never take them out and it's a fight when they put me under, only way they get to do so is if they promise as I'm coming out of it in they go. Lol

I must have sent you some of our Canadian cold (not our present heat wave).. Drats it's still so hot and humid..gave my matt another coat, wanted to give it one more but just not drying!

LOL!! All your talk about teeth, the only teeth I've had to have pulled so far are my 2 wisdom teeth, I only grew the 2 top ones and they were in and straight and not in the way, thank God for big mouths, but they got cavities and they won't fill wisdom teeth.

Betty that would be nice metal art you have in your yard. Katy Perry sings current pop music, but you know I love the heavy metal too, and 80's country, and 90's country, 50's, and 60, and 70's disco, and 80's hair bands, and 80's pop, and 90's pop, and 90's hard rock, and just about everything else except gangsta rap, opera, and classical.

Leaving the tooth in is definitely worse, yuk!!

Dave took me to Red Lobster for dinner and we just got back, we participated in their crab fest and OMG was it good, but we're so full we can barely move. Darn those biscuits!

OH I love their buiscuits. I make them at home from bisquick and shredded cheese!
Red Lobster is my favorite restaurant....along with Cracker Barrell.

It's 5:30 am and I haven't been able to sleep. Too much pain and I slept hard on my nap yesterday afternoon.

Took some Benadryl and I might go soak in my outdoor bathtub. In this weather the water is nice and warm. Late afternoon it's hot.

Anybody else up yet?

Morning all, another sunshine day, high humidity..got all watered just incase the rain they call for later today doesn't come..still have 8 shrubs to plant, not likely I'll plant yet because this heat will surely bake them..

Crissy, glad that you and Dave got out for some quality time..not being a seafood or fish eater I can't appreciate the meal you had but it you ate till you were stuffed then it must have been delicious!

Amazing just how humid it is..the gentleman who sells metal art does not coat it because most of us purchase for rusted look..was mid afternoon when I got home, slapped them in the garden anywhere and watered them, that along with the humidity they've already started to rust..oh happy days..would love to go out and cut much of the garden but know I'm better to stay inside in a/c

Debbie you mom was at it yesterday...lol..seeing as you take stress well I'll give her to you..called and asked how come I didn't call her back, I'm not a telephone person and almost always forget to check to see if I've messages for days on end..said she called because she was at the cottage and was going to come spend the morning with me,
After calling he realized it was Kempenfest weekend, said how she would love to be able to go, even for awhile..yikes she can't even walk the length of her cottage, how could she think it would be a good place to go..

Then on to her 80th birthday, not sure if I told you this, if I did, skip over and say ,there she goes repeating herself'. Lol
Sharon (sister) and I have been setting out a plan to celebrate, brothers don't get to involved but all decisions are of the masses..

Now remember, my being a recreation coordinator makes organizing such events is what I did for over 20 years, events with thousands in attendance so easy for me to be the one most in charge..

It was decided that we'd have it here in the gardens, September is a beautiful month for outdoor party..but as with my other planning you can't depend on Mother Nature so I book the event hall in local church..

Sharon's concern..confusing to people when they get the invitation ?? How so? Invitation gives my address, inside map saying if rain day please come to......which is 2 blocks away

Sharon's concern..who will do all the work? You order in all the foods..no work!

So seems all is well

Get a call the other day from Sharon, been talking to mom, I thought it was going to be a surprise? Anyway, Sharon says mom does not want a big due, restaurant with family..family is that her 4 children? Or is it her siblings, our children and their children?? Ok, I tell Sharon for her and mike to find a restaurant that will hold the numbers and I'll be there..

So yesterday mom says, your sister says you are angry with her, not talking to her?? Who me, very few people in this world I don't talk to, just ask Crissy, I'll talk to anyone,anywhere and you have to do something pretty life threatening to get me goi g...said no mom I'm not mad, not sure where she got that!!

Mom says the only thing she wanted was a day with her family, why couldn't I have it in my garden?? So I say, mom, if it rains what would we do? Comes out with, why not go to the church room where they had aunt murals' 80th...hmmmm not why didn't I think of that?

Told her that was exactly the arrangements made.. So back to original plan I guess..

As for Sharon, she is going through hard times, been there, but you can't be so hurt by everything someone says and take it personally, I've told her this a thousand times..often we'll chat on msn and before you know it she has taken things wrong..told her to go back and re- read what she took wrong, now, same post, keeping in mind the person writing is having a good day, smiling, top of the world and wrote same post..now what do you get out of it, some of it you just got to laugh..too funny..all the little quibs given..she does it for awhile then reverts back to the dark side..no wonder she finds herself alone and quite figure it out..she sees life in black, not in white..her whole life revolved around her show dogs...

What gets me, she lives in a million dollar home, doesn't work, has everything anyone could have (she is the one who says she is taking me to Paris come spring) and I look at this and wonder what possibly could be making her so depressed?

So this morning I must make a call to put us back on track..Lord help me..

Just remembered my cousin Linda will be coming over this morning and we are to go to Darlene's..best I get dressed and do something with my hair

That didn't take long, torrential rain happening..Linda/Dave should be here within 1/2 hour..got muffins on, made enough for you all!

Betty who was the artisan who did your metal work? I can remember years ago there was only 1 metal artisan so of course soon there were about 6 metal artisans. Only so many ways you can slice the pie and some have gone back to working 'in the real word' as we all usede to cal it.

Hot already and I can hear T and L immediately to the west. I should be able to watch the storm move in. Wish I had a camera to take pics on - well I have one just don't know how to use it or get the pics from the camera to the computer! lol at me, what a computer dunce I am.

Dianne, his 1st year was last year, he was disappointed that he was moved to almost the last vendor section, but for me it worked well once I knew he was a vendor..think when you love someone's work you go in search for them each and every year..have his card, must go look for it. Almost think he's Kitchener way..

One artist had a metal pole, bit decorative and a bird at the top, bird couldn't have been more than 5" and they wanted $125.00 , I found that a bit much..of course more work but I'm more into the flowers..he said each year he will add 2 more designs so excited about that..my favorite in the garden is the large sunflower with the bee on top..about 2. 1/2 ft..circular..

Linda just called, they were down at the country gas station, entire upper level painted in trompe l'oeil to look as though they are apartments, wanted to know if I've seen them..hello, of course I have lol in fact I painted 2 similar for my back shed..just know she'll be asking me to paint one for her..best not tell her I've a few windows stirred under the deck!

Dianne, raining heavily but no thunder and lightning as yet, can you see the earth just sucking it ! Hugs coming your way!

got swap blocks to sew...as soon as I am awake enough to manipulate the pieces of fabrics....

I wonder what the temps are?? it is hot!! even in the house with ac on....not turning it down tho...will just change pants from capris to shorts...electric bill just keeps getting higher :( not a good thing!!!

Morning everyone! Still busy with the kids. This morning we were outside, and a humming bird fell at my feet. I picked it up, but looks like she was an old hummer, and she did not make! Made the boys said, but I tried to tell them that is just part of God's way. Nothing lives forever.

Betty, Sharon is depressed because money does NOT buy you love, it will buy you comfort, but not true friends.

Been out working in the garden all morning, it is hot!! Decided to come in and take a shower and now I'm waiting to get hungry. We're going to go to HD after lunch, then come home and make pickles! Ick!

Wow LK, never thought they would die in flight, but we drop when we're physically active so I guess so!

Ahhh, I can just imagine LindaKay how upsetting it would be for them..hard when you are their age, death doesn't come into the equasion..learning experience for them!

When do you make the trip back to drop them off?? They must be with you now one week right? Was it two they were visiting for..imagine, won't be long before they are back to school

Crissy, what kind of project are you doing that you need HD supplies! In this heat you are doing pickles..hope you have stove outside to work with..

Kyle just called, we're going to 6:10 show, we'll leave around 4:30' bite to eat first..tell you the truth, would so love to stay home....

Wow, been outside 10 minutes, water pouring down my forehead..keep trying to get work done outside but just have to give up..back painting, not sure how well it's drying ..might have to give that up as well

Come Wed. I will be ready for waist day! I just took them shopping for school clothes and supplies! WOW! That was an experience! I don't like that Color, I don't like that style... All from a 7 year old boy! it took us 2 hours to get through the store!

LindaKay, I would say it is as healed as it is going to be, now scarred for life...actually this morning while at Darlene's my forehead came up, Mike said 'bangs will have to come into fashion again!'

Kids now days sure know style, must be from all tv commercials..what gets me is the cost, a person could go broke dressing a child for school.

This is the 3rd time I got dressed today..had shorts/ top I could west for painting, got dressed to mike and Darlene 's, came home, put on gardening clothes, now dressed to go to the movies with Kyle, got dressed again, and I wonder how I end up with so much wash..

It is still pretty warm here! Only 96 right now! Guess that storm, "DON" did not make it very far!
Finger is about the same, but learning to work with it. Still can't bend it very much, and it is still swollen, but the hand specialist says it can take up to a year to heal, So were still praying with time it will get better. It slows down my sewing time, and trying to grip anything is out of the question.

Whew got the pickles done! Betty I have central heat/air so it doesn't bother me to use the stove.

It's 107* today here, LK I was hoping we could have all benefited from Don but Corpus Christi didn't even benefit from it very much. BLAH!!

Betty Dave needed weed eater line and Malathion and I needed a new pair of gardening gloves.

I can hear thunder in the background but it's getting further and further away so I guess we get nothing, 3 days of 60% chance of rain in a row and we got nothing.

LK do the schools put out a "list of needs" the schools here do!! and I can not believe some of the requirements!!!! a person could very easily go broke getting all the stuff needed for school!!! why do we have to pay school taxes so high??? when school does not even supply any pencils or paper any more??!!!

red folder for this, blue folder for that...2'' binder for this, 1'' binder for that, 12 pack colored pencils....specific types of rulers, and scissors!!! and calculators!!! so very glad I don't have any in school !!! would have had to for get about vacations back when I had three in school, if we'd have had to supply all that is required these days!!!!

guess I have to start saving my nicKles and dimes now, so when it is time for Malena to go to school...I will be able to help with the requirements!!

I just had a lovely conversation on skype with my sailor ^_^ funny thing happened...he recommended an iron to me!!! he was doing his uniforms while we were talking and said "this Iron is the BOMB" meaning very good!!! so I said what is it?? it was a shark.....did not know they did irons??!! he said it was room mates, and when the time comes for him to buy one he will most certainly get the shark!!! It sure was putting out a lot of steam!!! He said it took him twice as long to do his uniforms with the other iron he had been using....

Went into town with Kyle, ready. For the 6:20 show, go to buy tickets and they said one theatre down so the show won't be till 9:20 pm..you know me, I'm not so sure I'll be up to take him back to the theatre..

Other movies but Kyle had been to theatre 3 ti es this week so wasn't interested in seeing any other.

Was suppose to have a storm tonight but no signs as yet, just sooo humid.

Crissy, I'm terrible when I'm in HD., go for 2 things and come back with a dozen.

LindaKay, you must be so frustrated that it's such a long healing process. You who loves to sew, feel so badly for you!

Thunder, I have a shark iron, top of the line model, your son is right, one of the best I've used as well. Funny to hear our boys talking about irons.. Did you get more sewing done?

Good evening all,
Well we survived another family birthday here . Sean's party started out as a small family gathering and ended up with 25 people!!! Someone would call Scott and want to know what he's doing and Scott would tell them they were having a get together for Sean's b'day and come on over if they wanted to. Thank heaven all these extra guests came with food in their hands. Some brought extra burgers, one brought a huge watermelon and another brought steak tips and sodas.... At least they came bearing food and presents for Sean. He was in his glory!!!! And dear Brandon - he spent 1 1/2 hours sitting on the ground filling water balloons for his brother so he could turn around and get soaked. The kids had so much fun. It was a great day.
Today was recoup day. Norm got to go shopping for some tools he wanted and I put a table topper together. It was just a very laid back day. The best kind.
We did sit down though and make our travel arrangements for Canada. We have our hotel reservations for Sat and Sun. And on Monday we go to Betty's. The excitement factor is rising with each passing day. The clothes we are taking pile is going down to make more room for the "stuff" we are taking. Going to be able to visit with Mittsy in NY on the way, then Thea, then Dianne (Maybe both together so they can meet too ) and then Betty. Also hoping we can see Debbie on the way back...

Barb, you'll be leaving early Saturday morning?? Fun planning a trip, especially when it is one that will be filled with meeting on-line friends..let me tell you I just can't wait, was telling Ann that by the time we get back from Chicago you'll almost be on my doorstep..

Tired, didn't get too far on the floorcoth but did work outside, I'd so love to have a warm bath and early night..Kyle just did a fabulous job vacuuming and cleaning everything within ..came in and talking about how good the movie we were going to see was, sooo how can I not drive into Midland for the show....

Hello To All !

oh I miss you all so much ! ((HUGS))...

wish I had a few days to 'recover' from my weekend. I've read all between Friday night and tonight... but if I skip over anything I am sorry.... I broke my iphone when they dropped by my office to pick me up Friday and was hard to read... but I did spend time Fri night to check in with ya'll.

I don't know what to say about the trip. It was bittersweet... Dianne you are so intuitive... should have taken your advice but unfortunately to a certain extent I did indeed let the DSD's spoil the weekend.
Positives: The B&B was Fabulous ! Natchitoches is Louisiana's oldest settlement, architecture like New Orleans but a small very friendly VERY clean city.... We met the B&B owner at check out... was neat I thought that she told us that while their parish (County) is the largest in Louisiana, there is no local Pet shelter so she runs one part out of her house (next door to B&B) and part nearby with the college (that DSD will be going to)... and it was nice to meet her...she said if DSD needs anything while away at college she can call her. A very nice lady... we WILL be back there again....
Negatives: Attitudes from youngest started from the 'get go'. Oldest was great until Saturday... then she started in on stuff. Had a flare up of Whooping cough while out shopping......which made me uneasy... then Both Embarrassed me at the Dinner Theater and couldn't really enjoy it.... then on drive home, I'm checking FB and reading where DSD1 has sent an open invitation to her "Party" on 8/13 to all her friends "And if I've forgotten to include you... please come anyway". DH says "They've talked and NO alcohol will be involved".... Hm.....

I walk in on DSD and DH having a conversation (after we returned home) and hear her say... ".... it's only 80 people Dad"....

GEEZ! Ok enough about me.

Katie - I bought a Papaya in your honor ... my first ! ... you'll have to tell me how to peel it LOL... I don't think I did it right...
Betty - Hugs on your Mom's Bday party... it sounds like you can't win with anything... your Dsis sounds a lot like mine... Agree withCrissy too.....DS sounds very controlling.... and agree... though she has more $ than me... she certainly isn't happy... What movie are you and Kyle going to see ? I bet you enjoy it more than you thought..... Would love a Gazebo in my "Front yard"... where did ya'll find one ?
LK - Sad about the hummer.... Deb would be doing CPR on it... LOL.... Thunder.. .Love "The Bomb" yes the kids do that too and if my DS recommended an "Iron" to me... I'd be so happy :o)

I called MIL because we have to plan the "August" bdays but only have the next 2 Sundays.... Hoping we end up with 8/14 because then DH will *HAVE* to make DSD help clean up after her party.

Oh - and I objected that the "party" would be FIVE HOURS long ? DH made her change it.... but then she sent out the FB invite... 5p - 10p. Hmmm..... Hm......

Dson... never called me back on the weekend and I worried about him... (and the house)....

Sorry I'm venting... I should be catching up with my friends... but no one else to listen but you all....

Would have sent a pic of the "Steel Magnolia" house but I plan to stay there some day soon... so will wait ... the traffic was a bit heavy and the pic would not have been great....

I swear Mary, you have the patience of a Saint. You need to dig your heels in...and learn how to yell. I do not loose my cool often...usually I shake my head, walk away...with tears. BUT...sometimes...when I do let loose...they know "enough is enough."

That little house is so cute...I just love front porches. That is what sold this house...even in the winter time.

Mary, arm wraps for you, sorry they spoilt the theatre outing, you were so hoping this vacation would be all you hoped for. The area you visited would be so much fun to visit!! I had lunch one day in the restaurant of green fried tomatoes..something about seeing exactly where the shooting took place..

Not a long weekend for you Mary so off to bed, workday to or row!! Sure did miss you!

Well, it was quite busy.

THe good....DH sold his motorcycle, which is kind of sad too...as needed it for bills.

Then...the childs car is pretty much dead. SOOO I have no vehicle until it gets fixed or I want to get up at 4:30 to take her into work at 5:00 a.m.

Gets me so mad, the way she treats me, and I have to give up my car for her.....
I keep thinking the more she works....the faster she can get her car fixed and an apartment.

It is suddenly very very humid tonight....think I will turn in and get some sleep.

((((MARY)))) Whew you made it! I truly think your DH had better start taking this BD Party seriously - it is held in your own home so you could be responsible for alot of things that happen. All of your DSD's friends must upon entry of the party HAND OVER THEIR KEYS to either you, Lance or another responsbile adult. I would make sure it is just 1 person that is in possession of the keys so the kids can't play one off og each other with this situation. I'll stop right now but I have a few things running through my head about should oocur and happen while these teens are in your home.

Morning, very hot and humid, Kyle spend the night and must have turned the A/C off.. Did my morning tour of the gardens, thank goodness for the phlox, all else is done, feels like a fall morning...

Debbie, other than a couple of downpours it skipped right over to Dianne, she is the one Paul has to talk to. Lol

I'd love to spend the day out in the gardens but know that won't happen so its on with the Matt

Dianne you have some valid concerns for Mary, I would say that some of these childrens parents should be in attendance, when doing an event we always said 1 per every 10 and even then that wasn't enough. Add the pool into the equation and we are not trying to frighten you but so many things can happen

NOT always your dad's friends but could be a crashed, especially seeing how she advertised on facebook..

Tell you something that happened to me while working at the municipality..I ran teen dances, same bunch of kids week after week, we had staff and parents to to it, even ran a bus..opened doors at 8pm to midnight, once in other than leave they were not allowed outside and bags, jackets always checked in

This one Friday I happened to drop in and noticed a bit more chatter and excitement going on so I asked a few hound paddies what was going on, not a thing, chatter between girls/boys, went into washroom and in a stall was a young 15 year old, because of our policy she decided that the 26oz bottle of booze should be drank ALL at once before coming in..called 911, long story short, she had alcohol poisoning and almost lost her life..

80 children is just too many for house party,,,but if it's on and nothing you can do then even though it will annoy the *^%#€ out od her sit and set the guidelines, what is expected of these young visitors...first on compliance out every one goes, and stick to it!!

I don't envy you....

Debbie, it must have broke Paul's heart to have to give up his bike..not a good ...now how far does the CHILD work from home..a regular peddle bike might be in order..you are a much kinder mom than I would be..I love all the kids and nothing I don't do for them but I don't reward them for such behavior..know you've an a vested reason for doing so, faster she finds her own digs the better!

Sitting here with movie on could encourage me to do nothing, but seeing as I have 4 craft tables being used for the Matt I'd best try and finish painting it..
