For me . Doing a camping trip and this campground goes all out. I usally do not decorate outside of home during that time so was looking for ideas.
Needs to be easy to transport. We will have trees and electric at the site.
Enjoy your trip Susan and good luck with the interview.
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today-chat with friends!
Thank you, Laura!!
Dancing ghosts sounds like fun, Laura - what a campground! They sound like a good group, too!!
We cross posted Betty.
Ok got you so far.
We will have electric.
Betty - I'll be sure to look for the "hunks" LOL but as I'm going to the agency to be interviewed first, I would not see the "hunks" today...... only if I get a 2nd interview there, or get the job outright LOL We'll see........
Laura, hard to explain things without actual photo..my old computer I lost all my photo's but maybe somewhere I can find one..
So, now you'be made as many ghosts as you want right? After you make the circle with your ghosts, the dress until makes like a triangle, you take the side triangles and tie to the next ghost which makes it look like they are holding hands..
???? might not be clear here...
I gottcha...so far.
of course these ghosts are not laying they are standing upright lol the dowel or the wood stake is holding them in the ground...
Now for what makes them dance...I'm sure somewhere you have mini light string that you put on christmas tree, you know the kind that you can change movement??? I take some of the light string under the white gown with tape to the dowel/stake and some on the ground so that when you plug it at night, they actually look like they are chasing each other.
Very pretty..especially if you've a tree to put them around!
????
Betty sounds to cool. Thank you
How long should I cut my stakes?
I'll check with some material I have at home and will let you know...
Another 20 minutes and lunch time..getting hungry..one thing about a late lunch, won't need to cook supper in this heat..will be full
We are back home and a shiny new 2011 Toyota Tundra truck is sitting in the driveway!!!! It's white and all new and clean....Knowing Norm, he will keep it that way too. It is now official HE HAS A JOB!!!!. He will be meeting a fellow employee in Maine and will go there for training. I left him there after Iknew it was a done deal and drove myself home. And of course I had to stop at one of the quilt shops I used to haunt in the old neighborhood. It was such a great feeling to walk in where I hadn't been in nearly four years and be remembered.
OOOps - one of the kids is here.....Be back later...
Ohhh how exciting it is for both of you Barb..company truck and new that is quite a perk..soooo what did you purchase in the quilt shop?
This reminds me of you
She can deal with stress and carry heavy burdens.
She smiles when she feels like crying, and she sings when she feels like screaming.
She cries when she's happy and laughs when she's afraid.
Her love is unconditional.
There's only one thing wrong with her
She sometimes forgets what she's worth!
Pass this to every beautiful woman you know.
Remind her that she's unique.
I love you girls!

Three wonderful feelings for you, Barb!!
1. Norm has a job (that Could be said 3 times and be three all by itself!)
2. He has a new company truck
3. You have friends who remember you in the Quilt Shop!
Buy yourself a lottery ticket, Barb LOL
Thank you Betty that is so nice. Printing that one and keeping in my sewing area.
YEA Barb On Norms new job and truck.
And what a great feeling to be remembered after all those years.
Sooooooo what did you come home with?
Susan how did the interview go?
Oh Betty that's nice! Thank you!
You said that right Susan!!!
OK LADIES I am officially getting the dreaded Siilleennt Trreeaatmmeenntt and laughing all the way to the bank with it.
When I lived in the City of Modesto in California everyone within the city limits got a city bill that covered water, sewer, garbage, and emergency services and ran $100 a month when I left, every city had their own City Bill. I got a bill from our Lonsdale Volunteer Fire Dept for $50 annual dues, one of those where if you don't pay you don't get the services and if your house catches fire too bad, well Dave says it's a tax and extortion, I'm thinking it's $50 a year, comes to $4.10 a month, so what. He started screaming at me that I didn't pay any city bill, anybody who lives in the city doesn't pay a dime for any services, and I don't know what I'm talking about so he is not going to talk to me again, I'm done, beyond done, not going to deal with this crap, this is stupid and childish, tired of his anger all the time. Where is my Deli Dude?
Crissy you have me laughing my head off..Kyle just dropped in, looked like I was bonkers..you are quite a Crissy!! Something has to be major wrong for Dave to be acting as he is!!
Sometimes they act like a jerk - sometimes they don't. Must be his time!!!!
Of course I had to get something when I stopped at the quilt shop. Have you seen the table runners that are made using the 60* triangle ruler? They are really nice to look at. Well, I bought the fabrics to make four of them. I need to make 2 for my class reunion raffle and two for me!!! I'll take a picture of the pattern and the fabric in the morning. It's been a long day and the heat has wiped me out. Thank heaven for air conditioning.
Have a great evening everyone.....
Crissy, didn't you say he turned 50 this year? Im must sayin...midlife crisis....or he has been in the sun a bit too long without a hat!
Tell Deli dude...extra mayo!
LMAO Betty!!! That's great!! When I say I'm done with something that means I'm done with it, and I am done with putting up with this childish behavior, this is stupid, I think 50 years old is time to grow up, what do you all think?
AMEN to AC Barb!!
LOL Debbie!! YES! He was angry like this all winter because it was winter, now he's going to be angry all summer because he can't get over himself? He turned 50, quit smoking, and lost his unemployment payments, he has good reason to be in a bad mood, BUT there are about 7 different jobs he can go do while he's waiting to get the job he wants and he won't do it, he'd rather sit here at home and make me miserable, PLUS he wouldn't start looking for a job right when he lost the last one because he wanted to milk the benefits for all they were worth, I told him to not do that but he did anyway and here we are. I'm through being miserable. This is ridiculous.
Interview went fine - I'm one of five the agency is recommending (don't know how many agencies the company is using, but one of their temps is in the job now - filling inbetween - the last person left for Toronto on a family emergency, and won't be back, so it's not a case of someone being fired, etc.
As I'll be out of the city, I'll phone them on Wed and see if I'm getting a 2nd interview (if the company wants one - they may just pick one of us and go from there).
Hello To All !
YAY Susan ! Great news !
Crissy - your DH has sure overstepped his bounds. I would hope if I were in his shoes I'd at least get a min wage job for the meantime... sometimes I feel the 'middle age' crises thing... but don't we all.... still gotta go to work every day....
LOVE Deb... extra mayo... :o)
Barb - what a wonderful day for such a wonderful gal ! AND a new Toyota ! Should I get a Highlander ?
Laura - please take a pic of the ghosts !
Best of today: Tomorrow is FRIDAY ! ((HUGS))
Mary
PS: so stressed today and stopped by our city's botanical gardens. Thought of you all.... they had the "oregano" tagged as "cilantro" ....(so I'm the pro now ?)..... almost pulled a weed but saw the sign that picking flowers etc. was 'vandalism'. thought of Bev - when I saw TONS of daylilies with name tags....
another thought: Is "Botanical Gardens" Redundant ? LOL
You won't be seeing me for about a week - heading out camping tomorrow am, and won't be back until 29th/30th - dependant upon weather.
Will have my cell on, in case I get a call re: job or interview.
Have a great week everyone!
Safe Travels Susan ! Have LOADS of fun and get some good pics to show us ! :o)
Mary
Have AN EXCELLENT time Susan, you and Bob have sure earned it!
Dianne
Mary I am a little more discombobulated than usual right now..... when do you go to the lovely B&B? Feeling a bit better today? Looking forward to seeing pics of this place too!
Dianne
Hey Dianne ! You certainly have a right to feel discombobulated ! is the heat wave too unbearable to take our morning walks ? I'm really missing them !
((HUGS))
Next Friday 7/29.... if I have to stay at work till 5p... we'll leave then....drive 3 + hours to Natchitoches LA, and check in. Saturday tour around the place, historical stuff, alligator farm maybe ? home to the famous (?) Natchitoches Meat Pies... then back to B&B... get ready and head out for 5:30p Dinner/Theater "Die Claudius" at the college. Then hot tub on the deck? Sunday morning try some fishing? then head home.
I can't wait ! I suppose if I can't have my week at Disney then I'll just have to be content with short weekend trips...
But I do plan to approach the FAM with the thought of a Disney visit the last week of the year... while on this vaca...
we'll see. NOTHING planned for this weekend.. .Hubs works saturday as usual.
Do you have any good plans this weekend Dianne ?
(et al)
Hugs,
Mary
Morning all..my pretties wanted watering, they were hanging their heads so along with a zillion Mosquitos I watered what needed watering, should help them survive the day.
I am off to Peterborough today with Suzanne so have to leave at 6:30am, it's about a 2 1/2 hr drive each way..should be a nice day!
Something out of the norm
Kyle dropped in last night..been here every night since tuesday..lordy he's chatty..much to tell me about his day of work, excited to get this weeks paycheck, sat here and figured it out, $524.00...wow for 1 week and being 15 that's marvelous...what he is most excited about is paying for his snowmobile this weekend...good kid!
Went on to tell me about his dad, Greg when in grade 10 did a co op with them through. His high school years, now a big boss...well there was a young co op student who worked there last school term then with school out he was finished. Greg noticed the last few weeks he arrived to see the young lad working away..seeing as there are 2 owners then Greg and one of the owners away Greg asked the other if he had hired this young lad, nope..Greg knew he didn't so went out and spoke to him..young lad said "had no job or school to go to, thought if I came to work everyday somebody would eventually would give me a paycheck. Lol. So Greg went in, had him sign some papers and said, guess you have a job!
Now that was creative on the young man's part..Greg and tim both had a laugh, asked the young one for his previous hours and paid him for them as well...
Oops Suzanne just called, wants to leave earlier and here I don't have my hair done, gotta run
Taking iPad so might get a chance to chat
Susan...again enjoy..
Goodmorning to all.
Susan enjoy your camp trip and pictures if you can.
Off to water my thirsty plants.
Just wanted to give you an update on my Brother.
He has been in contact with an old hunting buddy of his back home, and he knew what was going on. Well, he convinced Jimbo to go to the hospital to get some help, so his daughter called the cops last night, and they showed up with an ambulance and took him off. he will spend at least the next 3 days in a mental institution for evaluation and go from there. So it is a big relief to everyone, and for him. Praying he gets the help the needs!
I will be gone be for most of the day. Going to San Antonio for Dr. appointment, and to get the two grandsons for a week.
Later
LindaKay, bet you are relieved that your brother has agreed to get help..sometimes hearing a friend tell you what is needed hits home far easier than hearing family members tell you! having the kids with you next week will calm your nerves..know it has been a difficult week for you
here using the computer in Peterborough Office, not sure why her keyboard keeps reverting to french..no connection for my ipad..enjoyed the trip in, saw a few shops I would like to see so will do so on our way home.
Suzanne is hoping we will leave here by 1:30 and that way it will give us a little time to play.
Laura, are you still working on the community garden
Wow sounds like all are busy today. I'm staying put today and in out of the heat. It never ceases to amaze me how I can be breathing so well and then open a door and my breath is gone!! Thank heaven for air conditioning. LOL I've said that so many times you all must be tired of hearing it.
I'm having a quiet day today. Just cutting some fabrics - nice and peaceful. Throw in a load of laundry now and then to get it done. And play here for a bit.
Dianne how are you and Warren doing in the heat? Has it cooled down any yet where you are? And those of you in the central area, please find ways to stay cool!!! These temps are downright scary....I worry about you Judy and Bev and all of you down south too - Linda, Mary, Crissy. Not to say I don't worry about you too Susan but it's a bit cooler where you are right now. Laura, I'm thinking you are getting the same awful temps I am and I hope you are somewhere cool!!!!!
Sounds like you are going to have a great day Betty with Suzanne. You should both do something silly together too or something that makes you both smile.
Off to boil some eggs for later - have a fun day everyone~~~~~

Oh Barb you're too sweet, it's so cold in my office here at work I'm shivering, need to go outside to thaw out! It's 68* in here! I have a new house with a new AC and AC in my car so I'm good to go!!
LOL Love the watergun fight!!
After lurking here for a while, I'm going to speak up with some information for those of you who are making ghosts. I love the ideas given here. I will add that if you check out www.glowinc.com they have glow-in-the-dark paints. Some of them can be used on fabric. It's a fun website with lots of ideas posted. No get-rich-quick schemes but lots of solid fun ideas, some of which might help meake a little extra money. I think the pain would be great on a ghost because the different colors fade at dirrerrent time so they would add to the feeling of movement.
katie
Thank you so much Katie going to look at site now. Maybe something the kids can help with. Of course they love to paint.
The owner's name is Daniel. One helper is Carin. They are very helpful. It's a small business and nice to work with. They have some new water-soluable paints which might be safe for the kids. They will tell you what you need to know. Great fun on T-shirts for the kids.
katie
Katie, how wonderful that you have joined in, special ladies come and chat..you will feel right at home..I am out of town and using someone elses computer to say hi but cannot wait until I get home to visit the site and chat..
Gee whiz, Trustee got here late, our schedule is caputz so have not had time to train Melody..just been sitting here looking pretty and talking to clients..lol
