Thouht I would show you my new digs..
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today-chat with friends!
Tells you to go to emerge, there is a shortage of doctors...wouldn't take a chance, if worse I'll go, promise..was telling Jeff last night, said 'want me to come home' told him no and while he was waiting told Kyle if something happened wait to tell Jeff when his 3 weeks holiday was up..Jeff said 'that's nice of you'...they know their mom
that picture is looking up front of my office and now this is looking right down from my office
Betty that's awesome! Lucky girl working in a mall, would be way way too dangerous for me, I'd spend my whole paychecks!
So Betty any craft stores in the mall????
That place is huge.
Betty, do they have any urgent care places up there? PLEASE go see a Dr. this has been going on too long! Don't make us call your Mom!!!
Love those red flowers. Wish I could think of what they are!
That snow mobile ride looks refreshing about now!
Very pretty pics of the garden.
Freezing yes not sure ready for that but also not enjoying the holly heck hot we have here.
Had storm last night with lots of rain and lost power but still so humid. YUK
Not sure what the red flowers are either..saw same not yet in bloom at the nursery on my way home, wouldn't mind getting a few more...I'm sooo short of red perrenials in the gardens..
I'll have to take mega pictures so I can show Barb where what was there as all will be finished by late August when she visits..but her room is waiting..lol
Oh Betty, I wish I were there now!!! That room looks so inviting and how did you know that yellow roses are my favorite????? Norm said the snowmobile picture helped to cool him down - he just came inside from mowing the lawn....
I'm hoping the glasses are the cause of the problem yesterday. You must take extra good care of yourself so you feel well when we get there!!!
Headaches and dizziness can be caused by the glasses aqnd so many other things too. You sound much better today though. Are you working from home today?
I went to my BOM (Block of the Month) meeting this morning and oh my, there are some wonderful new fabrics and books and notions on the market right now. I brought home a piece of fabric that I just fell in love with. I'll take a picture and post it after I get my cutting table clearing from all the 5" squares. And I found a wonderful new book with delightful patterns to try. I was thinking of you Betty as one of them looks like maple leaves.
Well, tomorrow is the day that Norm signs on to be employed!!! The company he will be working for has it's main offices on Long Island, NY. But he will be working from home. We go down to Massachusetts in the morning to meet with his manager. He is driving up with Norm's company vehicle and all the tools, manuals, etc that Norm will need. And all the paperwork for payroll etc. I think then he will actually feel like he has a job. He will be working with the technician in Maine for a few weeks to learn the job and then he will have his own territory to cover. It is a traveling field service job and that's what Norm loves. Nobody is looking over your shoulder all the time and you are truly helping people. Soooo---I will keep you posted as to how it goes. I'm so glad they understood about our trip we had planned for so long and are okay with him being gone that week.
Sending prayers and well wishes to everybody. You are all in my thoughts so much more than you know. I must get those squares organized so I'll be back later. ~~~Waving to all~~~~~
Betty - I know you're an intelligent woman, and wouldn't worry anyone unecessarily, BUT - get thee to a Physician, woman! I know, I know....... emergency rooms are not fun, and it would be best to see the Dr that knows your condition rather than someone you have to start all over again with, but geeeeeeeeze lady!! Something's wrong, more than your eyeglass prescription!
Yaaaaaaay for Norm and your vacation, Barb!! s'funny, Bob & I are doing the same thing - taking a vacation while we're unemployed lol Well, we've had some good times while we were so, at the same time (go figure, eh?) and now that things are more "tied up" so-to-speak, we're going to take time to head out to camp in Alberta, and may take that day-trip to Montana (now that we have our passports!) I'm looking forward to a week of camping, and visiting some people we know, and others we're getting to know!
Enjoy it Susan as we don't know when the next vaca will come!!! Glad you are going and hope you make it to the USA...
Barb I bet Norm is excited to be back at work.
Will he travel far? Or out during the day and be back in the evenings?
So love the view of Betty's home.
Can see you both outside drinking iced tea and chatting the day away.
I've stayed in that room, Barb you and Norm are going to LOVE IT!!! Betty has the warmest, most cozy house I have ever been in.
Good Day!!
Wow, so much to catch up on...
Waiving a "Cool" hello back Betty, OMG, I want to sit on your screened in porch all day and watch your gardens flourish! WOW!
Betty, I am glad to see you are feeling better. Sure wish you go to get checked out...Geesh, it seems every time you need the Doc he is on Holiday!!
I can't believe it's already 12:30 PM, and I haven't done a single thing as far as chores go. It', is incredibly hot and humid today. I feel horrible for Steve and crew!
I don't even want to go out for a smoke, uuhgg, it just nasty out.
Linda Kay, Oh MY Gosh, how scarey for you, I am so glad you are ok, sure hope the police caught those crooks!! So glad your DH stayed home today and I hope you 'll be able to get a nap and better nights sleep.
Oh, Yaya Susan, so glad you got the passports!! OH Gosh, sure hope you will get to the USA and what Better Visions...Montana, so smiling at her Majestic Beauty...
Excellent for Norm!! How cool they have no problems with the vacation week...Coming up soon, Love you to pieces too my friend, always love chatting with you.
Now, so can't wait to see your new material, ROFLOL, I guess your cabinet is getting a little lonely? Don't forget to take a pic of Norm and his tomato crop!!
LOL, did you go through the block book already, will be fun to work the new blocks!
Lets see, Laura, Wow, what a Beauty your President Hibiscus is> A sure way to put a smile on your face first thing in the morning, is it fragrant? Oh golly, wondering out loud, how soon the hummers will find it!
Awwwe, What an adorable little fuzzy addition you have...
Still trying to catch up in the threads...LOL, I am officially on a reading kick! You'll never guess what i've been reading...
LOL, so i will tell you straight up. I have gone back to the beginning of my DG life...Pouring over the threads and d-mails, It's like reading a journal!!
This really fun project is getting started and i guess, i am just going on memory ride.
Hey thank you all for kuddos on the job!! I did go and clean the unit! DH and partner went and re-built a closet for the clients in the John Hancock. After they were done, place needed a good dusting. Well they have lots of little nick nacks...It took me almost 4 hours just to dust, then cleaned up the bath and swept, swiffered and and vaccumed...I didn't get paid yet, but I was surprised that the client is paying me and not DH!! LOLOL, this is good, because he pays at discounted price.
But, now I also have to wait, sigh always waiting to get paid...but the good thing there is when i DO get paid, it always at one time, so I am super rich for about 15 minutes...woohoo, payday's coming! Well after i was done, Dh picked me up and I went to the next job site. That was pretty cool because, I got to see them in action..Took a few pics, But mostly i spent the hours reading Whirligigs again!! LOL, Thunder you were right, get different insights on the different stories.
10 More days and Liz and Kenny will be here!! We are planning on taking a boat tour on Lake Michigan, or the River Tour, which actually i've never been on..We never broght the boat home, was having car issue at the time. But now Steve is thinking he wants to go get it, if he does, then He can do the River tour for us, roflol right after i tell him..Also, We have a new Casino a couple towns over, so we ay go play there for an evening, who knows, might strike it rich!!
OHH GAWD, Liz is trying to Califoriaize me...LOL, I'm getting purple hair extentions. heheh, I'll be right in with a ll the newest rage..
OK, well just broke the news to Breenie. We are "renting" her room to Liz and Kenny, thus it has to be cleaned, lol little sneak aren't I. Big happy grins she is cool with it! Linda Kay, took your advise, didn't scream and whalla, glasses collected and put in kitchen sink and that was a coupe days ago, wink.TY.
Oh Betty, Love the new office site, wow the place is huge.
OK, got to load a few pics...
B b in a bit!
Afternoon, went and picked up lunch earlier and ate here in the office and now I'm taking my real lunch..lol benefits of being in a mall.
Barb how exciting for you and Norm, to be able to go as he pleases will be fantastic..you say tools, what will he be repairing? making? so nosey... Your visit to fabric shop sounds like fun, anxious to see the fabrics.
Susan, sometimes just planning vacations are as much fun!!!
Laura, my house isn't large, no expensive furniture, in fact a lot I made myself and painting, painted floors and the likes, nice of Crissy to say it's homey, which if it is I've accomplished what I set out to do, make it a home that everyone would feel comfortable, kick off their shoes and enjoy..
Hello To All !
Just stopped in for a lunch break... had kind of a long morning so allowing myself a bit to unwind before I head back in.
Judy - I LOVE It that you are re-reading Whirligigs.... I think I could reread a million times and find something new....took me a few times just to 'connect' the whirling theme with the spinning of the car... could go on but don't want to ruin the folks who haven't read it....Love Ya !
Laura - will have to go get some local honey now. Maybe that will help my cough ! Good ole Dad's recipe with whiskey and lemon... :o)
Betty - how fabulous that the miner will be on his first trip to Canada... I felt so bad for those men because had I been in their shoes I'd be a stark raving lunatic right now.... I have claustrophobia....
So glad to hear from Jeff.... LOL they know you ! RE: the B&B... I'm about to call and reserve... she said we could have the whole house for $285 / night. VERY affordable when compared to 2 hotel rooms at $120 each per night (five of us)... plus we get the whole house... kitchen, river, hammock, porch, hot tub.... hope it turns out as great as it seems !
Oh Debbie's bringing out the Big guns... "Call your mother".... LOL... listen to Deb Betty ! She knows way more about medical stuff than I do.....and as they say "you never know"....
Glad Izzy gets a new hair do... in this heat will feel MUCH better... Crissy - think you need a trip to the deli.... I suppose you won't order the "Po Boy". I'm reading a book that has a blurb about different names of sandwiches... LOL... thinking 'bout ya'
LK - I planted one of Betty's same red flowers and Hubs mowed right over it... so straining my brain to remember the name... same flower as teh header to the DG website... it's a lily of sorts....Ill have to look it up...would like to plant more
I'll check and pop back on ....
Crocosmia
JUDY!!!!!! Hiya!!!!
Betty if a homey home is what you were trying to accomplish you've done it!
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/184624/
Hi Crissy & Betty ! Got to head back to work now... see you all night shifters later !
Mary LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!! No I won't be getting a po boy! Love the thinking 'bout ya' I got a taco salad and he wasn't there! ARGH!! Oh well, that's what texting is for, right?
Crocosmia, ooooh that's it, thought they didn't grow up here and survive our winters??? guess they do..might stop off at the nursery on my way home!
Crissy you are too kind, no wonder I love you..difference this year is patio door and back deck, wasn't there when you were here nor was the other back kitchen deck all screened in, sooo you'll have to come back and see the changes.
Mary that's one heck of a deal, you better not wait too long or it will be rented out and you'll be disappointed..can't go wrong!!! Glad you are also feeling better..maybe tonight I'll try and stay up long enough to do the late night shift.
Judy, hopefully you will have your paycheck by the time Liz and Kenny arrives..so laughing 'rented her room out' well if it works all be it!!!! Know there will be mega jumping up and down going on at the airport ! Give them a hug for me. Purple extensions lol got to watch that Liz, she'll have you looking like a movie star before she leave..so style savey..
Boat ride sounds wonderful..one waiting for Barb and Norm so they can see our Georgian Bay and Northern Pines.

Ohhh someone must be a gardener, look at the size of that tomato plant!!! I like mine just turning pink..
Absolutely stunning..looks as though the panels are 3-d, are they? You've such great shops where you live. I'm envious..
You bought enough to do what??? lap top or quilt
Maybe you should follow Norm and I when we come home from your house!!!!!! Try out the trailer????? (I do have a bed inside!!) I have so much to show you!!!!!
Don't know who will do more talking, you or me...lol
Hope Norm brings his earplugs...
A bunch of the girls wanted to do a b.b.q. on the Tuesday for you both, said they'd bring hubbies, said we'd wait closer to the date and decide..don't want to give up any precious time..depending on how both of you are feeling is what we'll do that day..maybe I should make folded tags with all the things you, I and Norm would like to do and pick one out of a jar..
What will you be driving..yes, my poor little trailer with double bed is wondering why I'm not taking it anywhere...maybe in the fall, if not fall for sure when I get 2 weeks at Christmas I might go on a road tour south..
We will be driving my Toyota Highlander. It's an SUV. It's a sage green in color and that's why I got it!!! I love the color!!!!
Here it is!!!

Lots of room...
time to go, gab later
That tomato plant looks big.And Norm looks very proud.
The suv Barb look like you will have extra room in it .
Love the fabric I have not seen anything like it before.
HOT and HUMID out there YUK...............
Susan will you be tent camping? If so how will you stay cool?
Laura, the fabric line is called Northern Cardinal- it's designed by Holly Taylor for Moda (modafabrics.com) (Pattern #6420 on the panel)
Staying inside now that I am home, gardens will have to fend for themselves..broke heat record from 1919 I believe they said and hotter yet tomorrow.
Newscaster on my way home was talking to someone in New Zealand and they are expecting a blizzard and below zero temps, call was made for comparison...for we in the north, which would you prefer..
Barb, wonder how much room wil be left in that vehicle of yours? Lol
Got mail this afternoon, always fun because a have a smart meter to see how I made out...another happy face telling me I'm a smarty for managing my electricity..another credit..looking good but I'm not watching hydro consumption this month, couldn't do without a/c..don't want to save that much.
Seeing I've done nothing these past 2 nights I should get ambitious but won't...I think of those 8 wreigelia's sitting g there for planting and won't go there, I'll simply water later tonight and plant when temps are cool..
What are you all doing to keep cool...
Poor Sailor, she looks so old laying trying to keep cool...not sure where kitties are.
Debbie, Izzy liking her new 'do'?
Should telephone and see how Kyle made out today..young 15 year old slugging in construction isn't adverse to heat stroke. Will continue to check Jeff/Julie's blog hoping that they had an enjoyable day near the water..
What to do, what to do??
