Oh Laura, they must have loved getting their photo taken with old yogi bear..bet no sooner do you get home they are looking for where to head to next. How long was your stay?
On the lake where I raised my kids had a Yogi Bear park in the next bay, they met so many friends, some of whom they still have contact with..in later years it sold and is now called Wildwood Park, Owned by residents and is a little town onto their own!
Got my gardens watered..think I'll shampoo the scatter rug in the living room, would feel better once it is done..Sailor's favorite place to lay so as you can imagine not the cleanest, besides, who puts a partially whit rug down when they have furies, not smart!
Susan, did you find out why hydro went out?
Thunder must be working day shift, haven't seen her around lately, that and tired from her visit with Judy!
Judy what's up, are you at the cottage or home relaxing (as if you could ever relax at home with the gang pulling you in all directions) lol
Crissy, you are probably just rising, so hope today is a good day for you...
Mary, you had me spitting up my coffee. Lol. Funny how men buy the strangest of things and think we'll ohhh and ahhh and all the while we are wondering where we shall hide them?? It's the thought that counts. At the lake, had a hot tum in the basement, do you think I could master the chemicals, absolutely NOT..the boys had to do it for me and often figure out how to bring it back after my efforts..got the leave it alone told to me several times..
I SOOOO wanted to follow Jeff's kayak journey and cannot find the link..hope he calls me soon so I can get it..was so sure I posted it on one of the threads but guess I didn't..maybe if I call Kyle he'll know
Gee, still only 9:16am..perhaps I'll have all I want done finished by 11:00 then go deadheading and save seeds
What exciting or not are you all doing today
Bev, forgot to say how much I enjoyed the photo..when watering I saw amongst so much green one pink/yellow rose..no great quantities but I finally have a few roses
Best/Worse/What I did learn today? Chat with friends..
Absolutely beautiful..
They sure have the campground set up so that the kids have much to entertain themselves! Can see myself boating down the Potomac River..think I did with the boys when we did the Duck in Washington right??
Meant to add your kids are gorgeous...

We stayed 7 days and they give you a list of stuff going on all day.Kids meet new friends and we really enjoyed this campground. Going back to same place in October for fall festival. I found 2 amazing quilt shops. People so friendly everywhere. We went looking for firewood and drove by this house with tons on the porch gentleman sitting on porch sold us some of his. Most people do not sell during the summer. Campground firewood $6.00 a small bundle.

Betty, this is the link you posted, but it does not work.
Imagine, noon hour and still in my loungers..got the rug done, now if only I can keep Sailor off it until it dries!
This picking seed pods takes mega time..3 little dishes filled with seed and 2 hours out of my day..still mega cutting to do..doesn't have to all get done today does it?
LindaKay found the blog with 2009/2010 and now 2011 ..thanks for your effort in trying to find it for me.

Might work..you know moms, want to know how their kiddies are doing..already I found out more than I wanted to from Julie's post...think he was dodging traffic on major highway..not good.have to speak to him about safety when he gets home. Lol
Trying to decide if I want to take. Run into town and also check if roger's sister Marg would like to come , get her out of the apartment.
Been busy today. I told Mittsy I would make her Mom a placemat in purples so that's what I did this morning. I made one a nine-patch and the other is the 3-cut-block pattern. They came out pretty good. Just need to quilt them and get them ready to mail...
Then it's on to the 5" squares.....
Norm wants to go for ice cream but I told him later in the day. I really don't want one for lunch!!!
We took a nice ride together on Thursday and went up the Maine coast. It's so beautiful. I'll post a couple pictures.....
This first is Nubble Light at Cape Neddick. You can get there by boat or by the chair/tram you can see on the left side of the picture.

Barb I just love your cottage. hehe
I have hydranga and they will not bloom.
Icecream for dinner is better.
We enjoyed ourselves so much just getting sway we did it again on Friday only this time we headed for Vermont. The only picture I was able to get was of a covered bridge. We were quilt shop hopping and the camera went right out of my mind so I could navigate us to the shops. It was a fun day too and I found some things I had been searching for.
Here's the bridge....
The hydrangers need acid in their soil. We have a lot of pine trees here in New England and they do well here. There is a food made for them and they also like coffee grounds......The acid is what keeps them blue also.
coffee grounds? will start adding that
Barb, your pictures make me want to go to Maine!!! spent many summer days there as a very little kid!!....and we own property there!! we wish to "retire" there LOL but don't know as if that will ever happen....(retire that is)
Thunder it was such a perfect day weatherwise for just riding in Maine. It is such a beautiful place. The coast is tremendous and inland is soooo peaceful. I just loved it. PLUS - there are 35!!!!! independently owned quilt shops in Maine!!!! That does NOT include Joann's or any chain like that...
I stopped at only one as this was Norm's day too. I picked up a pattern for a stained glass picture of a loon. It had the fabric requiements on the back so Norm and I walked around pulling out bolt after bolt so I could make this. When I put the pattern down on the counter the sales lady said"Oh we have kits of that-would you rather have one instead of buying all this fabric?" I answered "Of course!" So she went to get one only to find there weren't any more made up. So she said to wait a minute and the owner came and said the she would go upstairs and put one together for me. There were only the two people working then and the place had several shoppers but she still went and made that for me. Needless to say, I will go there agin and wil consider that shop for online as well. I LOVE good customer service......
Hi everyone!
Now that things are settled for the moment, I have been trying to get things in order...Spent whatever free time I get, yanking the weeds in the yard!
My green house is back to some order, lol although it's mostly a a garden shed, a very hot one! I have a post for electric and water, now waiting for DH to install.
Of course it isn't a priority for him so i might be waiting another 12 years, lolol....
Yesterday was an incredibly Sad, sad day.
Steve woke me to ask if i was going to the memorial with him! of Course I am going!! It was actually a beautiful day for the bike so we took it.
Wow, I was in tears by the end of the memorial. Mark's Niece wrote the Eulogy, OMG, it was right on the mark as, to who he was...
Steve was upset that our other friend didn't go. I said all you could do is notify people and then it up to them. The important thing is you will be there.
Mark and he have been friends since they were young children. He would have 50 3 days after Steve's B-day...Well His Sister and family were really pleased that we came. We come to find out, Mark is not a big picture person, (which we knew) But He had photo of our Family in his Room, wow.
The Mass was in the same town as another of Steve's Childhood friends, so we cruised over to say hello. We missed him, but his Wife was just leaving. Was so surprised to see us! LOL. So we chatted with her for a few minutes.
Just as we came to where we needed to come through, Police baracades on all entries...So not good.
We went around the other way... as it turned out. One of the young guys, 25 years old and few of his buddies were going for a Motorcycle ride.
Only, The young man made his turn and was struck by an on coming vehicle. Speed limit is 45mph and people drive maybe 50...I don't know all the details, knowing the young man has died is enough. As if that wasn't horrifying enough, the Girl who hit him was only driving for about 2 weeks. Turns out the young man is the Brother of a friend of Jacobs!! This happened right at the second entry of our area.
Oh my goodness, to take my mind off of this decided to Weed some more. It's where I find some comfort. I did this for quite some time. As i did, I watched the chipmunks and birds feed on the spilled seed in my grass, so nice to watch. Discovered We have a blind bird!! Jake and i watched it for a good five minutes. It didn't get bothered by the chipmunk, but it was VERY still and eating so gently, was actually quite astonishing to watch.
Finally got hungry, went in side to make a hotdog for myself...just as i was finishing up, I look out the window and who pulls up to my house? Not 1, but 2 state police patrols. In the first I see someone point at our house!! OH Not good. So I watch as they get out, it' one of Jake's Buddies and his mom, both looking quit grim. OMG my mind racing, body shaking, fly to the door before they even get there As i opened the door, practically in shrill ask WHAT HAPPENED???
OMG, turns out the Boy was out all night long, said he was here...I don't know exactly because i was so shaken, i even told them they scared c#$#$#$ out of me.
All I know is that He was here for a while...if all night, don't know, and Jake wasn't here to ask...Anyway the kid left his key at our house! Geesh, dunno why he had to get State patrol, but sounds like the mom didn't believe...Yikes, after they left it took about an hour for me to calm back down, and the garden wasn't helping with that one, lol I finally had a beer, Also, Had to Call Jake just to hear his voice, he felt bad that that happened, uh yeah me too.
Then last night, We went to Our friends College Graduation Party! OMG...Seriously College graduation! We've know this little girl since she 10 months old!!
Had a nice time, Brings tears as These 3 girls have always considered us family, introduced us to their friends as Aunt & Uncle!!
Today, i started back at the weeds...Need to take minute to reflect and appreciate my Life, Tonight a Fire is in order!!
Prayers and Good Thoughts for everyone.
Sorry I have missed your calls Judy. As you can see by the posts above, I have not been home. Hope everything is okay. I'll try to call tonight when it is quiet around here. I have neighbors in back with the loudest lawn mower on the planet and now on a quiet Sunday is when he turned it on!!!!
(((Judy))))) OMG sweet lady, big big arm wraps! My heart would have jumped out my throat, and it almost did just reading what you wrote. You have had a horrible few days.
This "saying good bye" is NOT an easy thing. We have done that the last 3 days also for Trevor. Such an emotional situation, and so much unknown. Also had a young man home on leave killed on July 4th on Motorcycle. People just do not watch out for these bikes!!!
Barb, love the photos! Very nice!
Crissy....my Ex hub sounds very much like Dave. The man could NOT pass a mirror without checking himself out. Including checking his backside in the mirror in jeans! THought he was Gods gift to women.....no, he was a cruel joke and very nasty.
Lots of hugs to all, I am here reading....just not much to post positive....so just reading.
Debbie
Barb what beautiful country..did many trips with Roger to Boston, did the Cape, Martha's vineyard, Nantucket...travelled through Maine/Vermont and Newhampshire...also New Jersey..know I always say I live in God's country but think we all do...so glad you got to get out and enjoy some time with norm..once he starts working there will be little time for road trips..his first day is when??
Love the lighthouse ..but especially like your house, which room is mine?
You'll have to show me the photo of the loon piece..much easier when the have kits...you can change a few fabrics to make it your own.
Judy do you ever run out of energy?? I can just imagine after you heard about the accident how you must have felt having police come to your door..bet your heart skipped a couple of beats..
As for some friends not attending the funeral some just can't cope with the death of someone in their age group and especially under such circumstances.
Took a drive into town earlier, almost a ghost town, sooo hot nobody wants to be out.
Bought a few more wreigelia's an extra 100 ft length of hose..as soon as the afternoon sun is in I'll start watering..have to soon check to see if the water band is on..
Bought a couple packages of plastic containers..sat outside and took some od the flowers I deadheaded and got the seeds..worked a few hours on that project but not great quantities...now I know why it's so expensive to purchase packages of flower seeds!
Have 3 hydrangea's but all white except for the one I had in the last photo, different type, quite lacy and shades of pink..
Debbie, sending hugs for you as well..you've had quite an emotional week! Mom called awhile ago saying she was almost ready for a trip across the border, told her not likely until September..she asked about you..concerned about your health.. Your birthday tomorrow, hope that family of yours will treat you extra special..
Betty, the girls had a picnic bbq for me last night over at Jeannas. Was very nice. Carrie even made a ice cream cake out of ice cream sandwhiches, which was really nice. A few new shirts, new purse and a garden ornament. DH has tomorrow off....to spend with me...Oh joy!
How wonderful Debbie, with them at work tomorrow it made it more enjoyable having it last night as no one had to rush! You've raised quite the cooks Debbie..wish you could have saved me a piece of ice cream cake ..interesting, not quite sure how shed put it together!
Ooh what kind of garden ornament?? You love purses so the must have searched high and low for just the right one..smiling as I read about Dh having the day off tomorrow to spend with you..hope you get to do something you'd enjoy even if it's him doing a project for you that you don't have the energy to do..
Tomorrow I'll bring flowers to Roger's grave, not a way to celebrate his birthday but a way to say I never forget!
My SIL/cousin Linda, both you Debbie and Crissy met her, she turns 58 tomorrow, exactly 10 years to the day with Roger, boy we'd have some parties back then to celebrate both!
Called her this afternoon, she was on her way to Rama, spending her $$, sleeping over and seeing a show! We'll get together one evening this week and I'll take her out for supper.
Keep going outside and working in the gardens, do about 10 minutes then have to come in...sooo hot, almost unbearable..hope I remember this heat when there is a blizzard going on!
Hi everyone!!
OMG JUDY what an emotional day! I bet you're wiped out from that one. Why in the world did they think they needed to bring the police to get the guys keys back I wonder? Then again people do strange things when they're under a lot of stress sometimes.
Barb sounds like you had a good trip! Pretty pictures
Bev sending you more hugs, I'm sure he won't mind doing that for you.
Betty it's hot here still and will be until October probably. Ug.
I put coffee grounds and egg shells on all of my plants, it's a great fertilizer.
I've been busy and in a much better mood, got up and outside and trimmed all of my iris back, pulled some weeds, picked some tomatoes and cucumbers, all while Dave slept. Then when we were fixing breakfast Dave got into some serious trouble with me, he decided to tell me that my job's a joke, I don't do anything but sit around and play Angry Birds all day, they're throwing money away paying me, and so on. I told him that if he really feels that way then maybe I should quit and he can be the breadwinner for awhile. He hum hollered around with that for a while then after some dirty looks knew he was in trouble so he quit. Let me tell ya, this is getting very very old very very fast. He blames it on his quitting smoking but I don't care, I don't deserve to be treated this way!
Debbie how nice, a bbq!
Betty tell her I said HI!
Hot outside Crissy but a lot hotter here as I read your post..omg. You've patience of a saint I'd have thrown breakfast at him! What a #} jerk...how dare he!!
Know he is your man and you love him but got to tell you right now I don't like him..that was disrespectful, insulting and uncalled for..how dare he...
Shaking my head, blood pressure up AND you sounding cool/calm and collected...only way I'd be that is if I'd just put his bags at the door!!
And NO' quoting smoking may bring on a lot of things but the others can set me straight if I'm wrong, I do not believe the behavior results from that..going to look at that mileage sign, want to tell him a few words...and what did you say to him after he said su ch things??
Hello To All ;
Crissy - you definitely do not deserve that... ! Sounds like he needs to get a pizza delivery job...if only to get him out of your hair for a while every day....
Barb - I know I'm very busy... but I promise to take some time off to help you move into your cottage... I'm with Betty ... just let me know which room is mine... Betty - buy that lottery/bingo ticket !
Laura I'm having hydrangea envy... of all the things growing in my back yard... my hydrangea (second one) is dying.. I've got a plant from the swap still in a pot... so will try to find a better spot... I did read on DG that "Endless Summer" doesn't grow well here.. but hubby says then why do they sell it here?
Well - will be saving coffee grounds .....Thanks Barb !
Judy - I too believe in Weed Therapy. Wow my heart was racing for you... what drama... with police and all... you need a recovery day... or six pack.
((HUGS)) Debbie...Happy Prelated Birthday :o) LOL.... Glad the girls had a bbq for you... but lol at your comment on tomorrow. What. Joy.
I'll pop back in a bit.
Mary
OH Mary, my "joy" has been expanded on. I have had the boys out of the house for two days...and a vacant room. Long story...not good....but my extra room is now filled with Brittany and her baby girl.
I did meet TWO very nice and very very good looking sheriffs though! I really need some time without chaos....really!
Have mercy....
Oh Geez Deb ! Sometimes a "time out" is just needed. Do you want to send Shane to my Dads to build a fence? LOL...
Please share at least ONE of the sheriff's ... just send him on over. DH is livid... DSD1's "Boss" at the restaurant 'drew' on her arm with a pen... it looks like it will bruise. He just left and is on his way up there to extract an apology for her.
He may run by sheriff's to have them look at her arm. She was just about to quit (to go to college in Natchitoches) but that behavior is uncalled for..... I'm not one for drama... but the mark is bad... it's all the way up her arm....
Anyway - I hope having the baby and Brittany around will give you some joy... (Real Joy !)
LOL Shane is not the problem. Actually having the other two boys gone is a BIG help.
Long as I know Kylie and Britt are OK, there is no problem.
Definately know that your DH is doing the right thing there. I would be livid also.
Oh my I was going to toddle off to bed but now I have to stay up and read the next saga in your DSD's saga Mary.Do hope your DH's saner head will prevail before all he%$ breaks lose. How disrespectful can that boss get though?
Dianne
One thing I trust is that DH is pretty level headed about stuff ... I dont have to worry about him throwing ego around ...his testosterone level is just not that high.....
But I WILL try to stay up to find out what happened... I'll keep you all posted.
Deb - is Britt working and can she help you out any ? Just hoping...
Britt is working, but only been there 3 weeks. Right now, she is paying a full time babysitter also...along with diapers, formula etc.
It was very hectic tonight, lots of tears on her part....especially since her dad physically hurt her. She has a list of numbers to call from the Sheriff tomorrow. When she settles down tomorrow...we will talk things out and get some ground rules.
She lived here right before she found out she was pregnant....for 3 months. I usually make enough to feed an army. SO, we will see what we can do all the way around. IF anything, might take $50 a week...and put away for her to get an apartment after I see how she does on her own.
I need to get to sleep. It is officially the birthday....and I am suddenly feeling very old! lol
long story short... DSD's manager tried to bluff his way out of it... but ended up apologizing to her... I don't think that will be the end of it... but we shall see. Anyway ... She won't be working there much longer but this 35 year old man needs to leave these 18 year old girls alone....
Oh Deb.. I am hoping that this works out to help you... I mean... maybe Brit can help out with paying rent... It's admirable to save the money for her but ya'll deserve something out of the deal... and it's a great situation for her......
Betty - not sure we're going into Montana, the hydro went out cuz we had a HUGE lightening/thunder storm last night, and sirens were going off right afterwards.
Crissy - I relayed Dave's little tirade to my DH and he says "tell Dave to grow up and get over himself" and he says it's not right that he should go on about this when HE's not working. I agree with Mary - even a pizza delivery job would get him out of your hair lol My DH also says men should do things for their partners to help out and he would Never talk to me about my job like that! I told my DH about the ongoing relationship (no touching, etc, etc) and, although it's your call of course, my DH Bob says "get rid of him". Bob's not impressed with a man treating their partner like this. Now, you've heard from a man's point of view.
Judy - What A Day for you. I'm sure you're emotionally drained - I know I would be - yikers!! (((((((((Judy)))))))))
Mary - "drawing" on someone with a pen or anything that would cause a bruise like that is totally uncalled for, and by law anything that leaves a mark for more than 30 seconds is physical abuse!!
Barb - fabulous pictures of Maine, etc - soooooo jealous!! (lakes here, but no beaches for a long ways away!)
Morning all, thunder storm early a.m., some rain which will help, rest of the week to be much like this past weekend..I remember asking for this during March blizzard!!
Singing Happy Birthday DEBBIE so loud that I am sure you can hear me if you just step outside...I wish you the very best..you are one special lady, so much love and compassion..shown again in how you've opened yout doors to help Brittany and Kylie!!!
Mary, I'd have been more worried about your hubby going over there than anything else..yikes, glad he's mild mannered...did he go talk to the Sherriff..perhaps the young manager is immature for his age and thinks he's playing with the girls..none the less NOT the thing to do.
Susan, when will you know if you are going to Montana?
Running behind, cleaned my rug yesterday, come out perfect..came I to living room and Sailor had a 'mistake' thankfully I hadn't put the machine away and had to redo the rug...probably the heat getting to her?..
So now it's off to fold what is in the dryer..gab later
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBBIE Hope you have a great day.
♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ Happy Birthday Debbie♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ Hope you have a wonderful day.
Mary, I would have called the cops right away, to show them the fresh drawing, and bruises.
I need prayers for my Brother and family please? He has always been a very hot headed person, and has always abused his wife and kids. Well, for what ever reason he really lost it Saturday night, and tried to kill his wife. He got her in a bear hug, and told her he was not letting go until she was dead. Even after she passed out, he told her he could still hear gurgling, hurry up and die. Their daughter made him let go, and got her out of there. She called the cops and had him arrested. They live in Colorado, and she is now on a plane back to her Moms home in Michigan. Everyone is so upset, and a lot of mixed feeling.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes.
We have thunderstorms and rain here also...and they said hail. Haven't seen that yet.
Sure is hot and muggy though.
Shane was up at 7:40 (trust me..never up before 10:00) and made french toast for my breakfast and for DH also, along with cup of coffee. He is getting the dog shaved for me as a birthday gift...which is all I asked for! lol
I am suffering bug bites on my feet...dang they itch! Going for some vinegar! lol
Have a good Monday everyone
Debbie
