Prayers being said for Warren, Bev, Scotty, Dannie, and anyone else I'm missing........ bless you all
looking forward to reading whirlygig
Thanks for the comments on my garden. It's small, but it's Mighty lol
Judy - You're Scatterbrained? lol you should hear my brain some days lol On 2nd thought - maybe you shouldn't. It would only confuse you. I have a lot of "oh!! shiny thing........." itis LOL
Got some sorta good news yesterday - we Don't need a court order to stop Bob's maintenance decree. His ex just has to send a letter to Justice telling them she doesn't need the payments (now that their daughter is married and their son is working). Bob left a message for her today to call the Justice dept and also told her that we're Both not working. Hopefully she'll comply. I know it's been a duty of his to look after his kids, but DS is making his own $$ and DD is married, and his ex is independantly well off (1/2 of her wages go to Retirement Savings plan, for pete's sake!) We could sure use the break..... And not needing a court order saves us $1k. If she doesn't comply, we would have to go the "lawyer route" and hope it doesn't come to that.
Susan, I would include that in the letter. Tell her if she does not comply, she will be going to court!
Judy, Don't scream at your daughter, just tell he she goes nowhere until her room is clean. I would even take away her phone, and computer privilege's ...
Crissy, sure hope you get the info your looking for! LOL!
She has to send a letter to the Justice dept.... My DH left a message for her to call the Justice dept and they'll explain everything to her. She now knows we're both out of work (as per Bob's message to her) and I hope she will comply. If not, then I'll have to cash in some more RRSPs (people keep telling me I should leave my retirement $$ alone, but there are good reasons to use it now, and who knows if we'll Ever be able to afford to retire anyway!).
I agree, you should try to leave it alone, but you know when you need it. Praying you will find a job soon, and will be able to put it back.
Hey Betty, look who is having a Christmas sale in July!
Bronners in Frankenmouth...
http://app.bronto.com/public/?q=preview_message&fn=Link&t=1&ssid=7931&id=f3dnmg9y8yvcok6slhk54i28p8vxe&id2=cg4cehwbilot6ecc23owz2i37erxu&subscriber_id=buhlkatqkbhmhlvvwlbtjaufoxhfbmj&messageversion_id=axwkjvjhbbvstmqdxaqpqbshwaipbgp&delivery_id=amwbzwwbukninjmyewwyioyhqlexbed&tid=3.Hvs.AsSFDw.DKgZ.SvHW..bllb.s.HXw.l.Aea9.b.Th4j8Q.Th6Lyg.jm6Y-Q
LK - once I have it out, it's because I need it and cannot afford to put it back. I truly understand why I should leave it alone, but bills still need to be paid........
Christmas in July, eh? LOL
I'll be praying for good resuls, Bev.
I Got An Interview - tomorrow at 2:30. They pay less than I'm used to, but at least they're willing to see me, and that's a first interview for me!
good luck dear.
Bev, good luck for your test tomorrow. let us know how it goes please?
Thank you, Bev.
Hi to everyone, talk about exhausted..laying on the couch, sore back, I know my fault..
Just talked to Jeff, he and Julie are now done work and off kayaking first thing in the morning ..holidays for 3 weeks..told him not to forget calling mommy!
Cathy cut my grass, affords me to rest..as always I'll find something to treat her for doing it!
Bev, will be praying..how long did it take you to recover the last time? Did they say you should feel significally better?
Susan, what would the job entail?? Perhaps it would be worth taking less for a non stress job.. Wouldn't that be something if both you and Bob got a job..will your previous employer give you a good reference? Sure hope so! Couldn't you just not pay the ex and have it go to court so you don't have to pay a lawyer if she doesn't comply?
Debbie, you ok?
Betty, I am Ok. Just really tired. Fighting headache and "kids". But its not a bad...just busy.
Our Marine Srg. who was killed last week comes home tonight. I am amazed how hard this is hitting me. I only know him thru school and the community, and those same functions with his family....but I can see his smile from down the hall when he sees someone. I can see him running the basketball court, playing baseball, etc. Tonight the Honor Guard will escort him from the Buffalo Airport to the church in Medina. Our community had done so much for his "ride" home, but the Military changed his arrival time to 11:00 P.M.....so he will go straight to the church/funeral home the next town over.
Busy weekend for us ahead, and I am trying to get some thing done for Shane. College forms and trying to find housing....its not going well. Grrr! We went up to Canandaigua this morning...the rooms we toured were horrible. Not a good situation, and smelled of mold big time to me...one of his allergies.
Linda Kay, no test results yet. Probably early next week. I might just call tomorrow to see if anything is back.
Bev, big hugs....love your photos!
Debbie
The position is Office Manager. Maintaining inventory & budgetory controls, working with the Clinic Director.
Oh Debbie that is not good news..you would think the'd have a lot of accommodation for students..me thinks Shane might have found them suitable, it's mom and dad that see all the faults..remember Debbie your first digs?? Hope you find something soon as school year is not that far away..too far to drive? Cheap vehicle might be better than monthly rent?
Did the ever say what happened to the soldier at Darien lake theme park?
Hugs for you my friend...prayers and thoughts will be with you tomorrow..think some os the reason you are taking this young soldiers death so hard could be he's not that much older than your kids..brings emotions to the surface as to just how in a slip of a sexing you could Lise your children!!
Betty, the Soldier at Darien was a war Vet. He had no legs, and they let him on the rollercoaster, which could NOT possibly restrain him with his injuries. Basically, because of his injuries...ther was only a lap belt to hold him in place...so he fell out on the way down the hill. SO very sad.
No, I found the dorm rooms just a bit off, not really bad. Within 15 minutes his head was stuffed solid from the mold smell. The rooms they showed us were beautiful...then we saw some that were "being cleaned". They were horrible. I really want him to go....but this is more of a health issue.
He does not even have his license. AND..we have enough hard time buying groceries, never mind a car. Remember we are near foreclosure on the house.....and also DH is driving a 1996 vehicle, and me a 2002 with 200,000 miles on it. It is a 2 hour drive up there....so not a live at home situation.
Trevor is my kids age, he and Carrie were in the same classes for awhile til she was moved up a grade. BUT they were in the same sports and Academic decathalon competitions....she is taking it hard also.
Why did I think he had gotten his drivers permit..I know things are difficult right now, just wasn't sure if rent when you find a place would be double cost of a vehicle, sorry!!!
Any area kids that commute? Absolutely, the mold situation would not be healthy for him or anyone!!
Darien Lake may have a lawsuit against them..can you imagine how his family with him must have felt seeing it all go down? Tragic..
Betty it is a 2 hour drive...one way...no commuting.
He does have his drivers permit, just not his license. Our car insurance goes up $800 to have him on it...so it is holding that back.
No, his family said "it was an accident, it was his choice to go on the rollercoaster, he wanted to live life....not sit on the sidelines watching it." They said there will be NO lawsuit. Which I think is very wonderful that someone is not "sue them" happy. And yes, it is very very tragic.
Insurances sure don't make. It easy on young ones..going to get a map brought up so I can familiarize myself with where he'd be going to school
Oh Debbie!
My arms are around you so fast this evening. So many things happening at one time, I dunno what to say that might help.
Prayers being offered for sure.
What wonderful People, I'm sure that is comforting to him watching over to know his family is not the "suing kind" It was a horrific tragedy...
Knowing that he WAS happy in his last moments has to comforting to his family too, especially after his time served.
My, I sure wish i could be with you right now.
Debbie, you have been soo strong, during all this going, Just keep the faith and take one day at a time, Things will be Alright...
Great Big Arm Wraps around you Debbie.
(((((((((((((((We love you.))))))))))))))))))))))
Susan, Good for you! Wishing the Best on the interview!
Thank you.
Debbie - how wonderful that the family is taking that way..... I know it's difficult, but they're making the best of it, and I'm sure they're right - he wanted to live life to the fullest, and he was an adult, so Let Him!
Mold isn't good on the sinuses, so hope he's ok with it.
I'd best get some printing done of my references, cuz they want 'em at the interview tomorrow! Geeze, I'll have to backtrack to last fall when I used them for my last job.......
Hello To All !
((HUGS)) Debbie.... I agree withBetty... sometimes when stuff happens to kids... who are my kids age... it brings home that it could have been mine... very difficult to see someone with life ahead of them have to leave us... Does Shane have to stay in a dorm? Maybe ya'll could find some friends to share an apt.... I know you've thought this all out... Susan... CONGRATS on the interview ! Surely the starting salary can move up once you can show them what you can do.... Don't really understand payments on hubs kids when they are paying for themselves...so hope you can get that straight... doesn't really seem fair.....
Judy - LOL... I've long given up on the kids rooms. Unfortunately. And now the mess has crept out into my house. DH isn't home to get onto DSD and she's been sweet to me (this week) so I'm not gonna rock the boat. Judy - you and I...We are two peas in a pod... I had the SAME reaction to Whirligig...first of all I cry every time I read it... and second of all I've done millions of searches on internet to find a whirligig or a kit for DH to make me. NONE... can't find ONE... except some plastic looking stuff... nope want one like the ones in the book. Wooden. Maybe a good thing to get my Crafty friends to read... someone will come up with an idea.... its' beyond me.
LK and Barb... ((HUGS)) enjoy your drive Barb... Bev - please keep us posted on the heart cath... Betty Hugs to Danie.... would be difficult to work where I could see a pet store every day... LOL....
Betty - DH is at Auctioneer's Convention in ..... guess where..... ORLANDO FL.... yes - I shoudl have gone. I know now... but it woudl have been a difficult week to take off from work..... so will have to plan another vacation.... DSon... he is holding steady so far. no mention of military... (think he doesn't want to leave his GF) but is mentioning Community College. Either one I'm fine with as long as it's his decision and he puts effort forth on it......
I took DSD1 to local Baton Rouge Little Theater tonight... "Hairspray". One of my co-worker's daughters had the lead role.... and we invited friends (family that DS is landscaping with) Mom with 9 year old daughter.... it was a great night the show was fabulous.....
But now I'm WIRED and need to go to bed and it's VERY VERY late.... ((HUGS)) all...
Mary
Mary, haven't had the chance to read whirligig and you say you can only find plastic, show me a photo and who knows, might be able to make one in my woodworking shop ? Glad your son and step daughter are treating you nicely, bet it made a week you weren't looking forward to an enjoyable one..how many more sessions does your hubby have attend to get final degree or is it a matter of continual upgrading? A www so close to Disney..difficult when you work and only have so much time slotted for vacation...glad you didn't use up all those holidays, got to save some for Canada! Mary we have the cutestfroggie little theatre on the Bay in Penetanguishene, summer is filled daily with locals/tourists seeing the play of the month..time was limited when Crissy was visiting, did visit and see the schooner and the little boutique but we missed out on a show..
Judy, how's Steve doing today? Give him a hug for me...difficult losing a friend in that manner..last night while going through the midland times there was a memorial post by friends of mine for their son who hung himself on a recreation field out west 4 years ago..it was how they missed Jason, how their lives changed forever.. Each time Sue and Fred are at family due's you can see their hurt...
Debbie, be thinking of you today!!
Dianne, hope Warren's meds are working and that you've managed to get some rest..you've a hot weekend ahead of you..bet that lake water is like soup..barely refreshing!
Susan, as always, fun gabbing with you last night..you had me so laughing!
I'm feeling like a lady of leisure, still in my jammies, coffee in hand and working from home ... am totally relaxed! As I can't be far from telephone I might get a painting project out and sit on back deck...might even have a wine cooler. Lol
Going to check the telephone plug in wires to see if one might reach as far as the pond ..be excited if it does. How come i'm given something I want I.e. working from home, now I want to push it even further, want to be able to be out in my gardens..never satisfied, next I'll be checking like Susan said how the telephones switched to my cel would work so I can be out shopping..
LindaKay..you would have to tell me about Christmas in July wouldn't you?? Will you be flying in to take your dad home??? Or will he be staying there? Just yesterday the girls that we do Christmas shopping trip were discussing date and location, Suzanne would love it to be Frankenmuth, Linda wants Grove City Pennsylvania, Rita and Betty don't care..lol. With all having busy lives you have to book 3 or 4 months in advanced so each don't have other commitments..
Barb almost forgot, when does Norm start working? Bet you are both thrilled...
Wishing you the best of luck Susanon this afternoon' interview.
Waving to all, be back today as I have mega time to play
Should get dressed right?
Will mail off Whirligig Betty on Monday. I probably got it faster from Mary than you will via Canada Post.lol
Dianne
Here are a few links for wooden whirly gigs. Donn't know if this is what your all talking about. Some are free, some you have to pay for...

Betty, Dad is there to stay, and will be going in a home in a few months, when all the paperwork for medicare is approved. My Sister has really bad ankles, and her husband just got a job as a pastor for the big vets home, so for now, they are paying the lady across the street to watch him for a few hours, when they are both gone.
No hurry for me to read Dianne, so don't you be trying to rush off to the post office!! You are right about Canada post..I mailed a letter for Canada and a package to USA last week, package already across the border and had to go through customs and the letter not yet received..do you think they are on slow down?
LindaKay didn't realize he wasn't coming back to spend winters with you..imagine he needs specialty care..not easy looking after an elder, especially when we are up in age.
Will you be coming up to visit any time soon..your episode at the hotel is surely to deter you.
Omg I could make those Mary..go on the link that LindaKay provided and I'll do one for you!
Well had 3 calls from the boss, and 2 calls from collection agencies re clients file and that is it...but did manage To wash down the dishwasher, did a good clean up of stove, stove top, microwave and think I might do the refrigerator then kitchen done..who knows might go through the cupboards and throw everything that has expired out and start fresh..can't keep buying groceries just so people think I have food, my boys worry when they see mother hubbard's cupboards are bare..lol..but it's such a waste of $$$. When mostly I eat in restaurants.. My kitchen zinc cupboard could do with a cleaning..maybe that is what I should be doing with home work days..clean/clean/clean!! At some point I might go out and read...
I've been looking for a headboard for back bedroom, have a wicker one but no like..got this idea in my head to make one..that might be my weekend project.
Is it sunshine in your neck of the woods...perfect weather here this morning
omg - those whirligigs are priceless.......... then I saw the cowboy LOL
As this is a "western" city, I may be able to find an old-fashioned whirligig, but surely not one as funny as the Cowboy LOL Holy cow - just noticed it's 58" tall! Too big, for sure, for my yard! I'd want one that was only 12" tall for the roof, as per true whirligig style, I think!!
I'll have to go looking at the stores, and you're right - wouldn't want a plastic one ewwwwwwwww!
Betty - I don't think they're on slow down - they're trying to catch up with no overtime allowed, and no temps, either. They have over a month of mail to catch up on........
Break tome..got to change my telephone answering system to reflect a more 'office' related message just in case I get calls after 3 and on the weekend that I do not wish to take...
Having a well deserved tea, then it's washing the floors, bit of spray and shine, dusting and by then I've nothing to do all weekend..
Not sure Susan which is my favorite in the whirligig's .. Can't you see some al over my yard?? Lol
Back to work
lol Betty - I'll have to take another look at your yard......
None in my yard as yet Susan..still have 2 cut out butterflies from Stacey (Fairy) 's visit sitting in a box..thought I'd save them for Norm to paint. Lol. Vow I'll have him doing crafts before he leaves..loL
Paul just called to say all the liones and computers are now up and running..asked if I was tanning?? Told him I haven't stopped working since 8am this morning..yikes talk about a load for the garbage, all expired food, boxes, cans..starting fresh again..Barb, if there is nothing in the cupboards trust me, I just set it in garbage..will take a photo. Lol
Trying to decide seeing I've got everything in the kitchen washed and cleaned if I want to go one step further, still have 1 hr. To my work day..too funny, took about 8 calls, most from staff and could have waited..
Poor Sailor, she's out on back deck looking lonesome..when the telephone rings she bowels/howls, can't take the pitch..I've tried everything, all tones but still bothers her soooo she's out for the day either on the deck or has choice of gardens
With pop in hand, off I go on my last hour of cleaning
Betty - according to Google, I'm "only" 1959 miles from you.......
I used to make butterflies, etc, using my reciprocator saw and paints. I should take it up again!
Hmmm and what did I put? Could I have put kilometers
miles, I thought you put a bit over 2000........ would be 3008 km
Will check it out Susan, easy to change..got mileage from google direction
Drove into town, looked for headboard in 4 shops, no go..went to shoe store for Sanford, no go, went to Walmart for the new touch kobo reader as a gift for Darlene, no go..so here I am Bach home with all my allowance and didn't spend a thing..my mom would be proud of me Should get Debbie to call her and tell her lol
Where are you all today?? Hope all are ok..
Hi all!
Hugs Bev, Dianne and Warren, Shirley, Debbie, and everyone else!!!
I've been busy busy this week, as you all know, but have been lurking! I feel like it's midnight so I'm going to get off of this but I'll be back in the morning.
Hello To All !
Going to be a long boring night... so please drop in for a chat ! First night I've been home on time since Tuesday !
DSD2 is back from her Mom's... DH takes the 12n flight from Orlando tomorrow. Yup Betty - I should have taken off but I could not have.. very strange to have him so close to my favorite place on earth.... NEXT TIME! I'll go....
Crissy - is it a sandwich night? :o)
Betty - Yes was hoping to find a nice rustic looking... 'realistic' whirligig... will need to look up the 'froggie little theater'... what does froggie mean?
LK - great links ! Maybe there is something out there... like the bird ones... would love something 'natural' looking... maybe Betty will figure out a pattern and I'll "make" DH make me one... What would be a good theme? Angels? I'll show a link to one I found that I like... but when I saw a similar one in person ... it looked very cheap and like it woudl fall apart...
Dianne - you take your time sending the book.. I know Betty know's it'll be there in due time....
Yup Susan... the western one for your western theme... ((HUGS))) to all... I'm going to look for that link...
This is one I liked... just doesn't look as though it would hold up...
http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Angel-Whirligig/dp/B003MSONOQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310779356&sr=8-1
Just crawled into bed Mary but I'll try to chat for a bit...
The angel doesn't look as though it would hold up either..would be pretty in your yard though..metal would likely rust...
Are you trying to wait up until hubby gets home? Now let's hope Mary he doesn't tell you he went to Disney? Lol
I would have thought you'd be so exhausted from your trip to Florida last weekend and then a busy week that you'd be fast asleep and not see the night shift here..don't you just hate it when you are so tired you wake yourself up?
What do you have planned for the weekend!
Crissy you must have been extremely busy this week for it to be Friday night and you are off to bed..
LOL Betty - NO WAY he would go to Disney without me... although I really wouldn't mind.. hoping he would get infected with it as I am... HA !
You are so right... I am SO tired from driving so much the last few weekends... Can't believe I even did it... this time last week I was 3 hours into a 7 hour drive alone...
never again... BUT I will definitely go visit my Dad more... it's not that far with someone to help drive...
Belle is trying to play with me... she is so bored... been raining and supposed to rain for a while... DH and DS usually play with her but DH out of town and DS has been dog tired every day and he works tomorrow too....
Tomorrow is the months Hibiscus Club meeting and I am a loser. At the meeting tomorrow... we are supposed to bring some creative way to display Hibiscus... I've thought about it a bit.... but I'm not creative or artistic so I'm not going to participate in that... almost recruited DSD1... she would have come up with something but I did not ... we're doing good to get along as we have been.
What is planned for everyone else's weekend?
((HUGS))
Mary
Mary, it seems only yesterday that Sailor would be sitting by my bedside with a ball in her mouth nudging me to play! In order that i could finally get some sleep I'd close my eyes and pretend to snore..she'd drop her ball and let me sleep, she is much too old to play now but if I had a ball she would be back to her old tricks! So I can imagine just how much energy it takes to entertain Belle.
Your outing tomorrow will be fun I'm sure once you see the entries you!ll have some aha moments and wonder why you didn't think of it or you will think of something unique you could have entered!
