Good morning everyone!! Strong coffee today.. might chase Charleen's and mine sinuses away!

We had some rain last night!!! Praise God!!! And yes, I watered yesterday morning. But today, I took a break!!
Did the happy dance when the storms hit, and this morning when I did my rounds, the buckets have about 1 and a half inch of water. That's better than none!

Got a kit to pick up!! Yayyyy!!!! Lord is sooo good when your favorite quilt store is the first to call you up and tell you that they have a kit waiting for me... for free.. simply because they miss me!!! Kel says it's a good sales ploy, but I told him it's good Public Relations!!!
Moreover, they haven't seen me in months :(

Now that's a quilt store I could learn to love!!!! Good for you Jaye having that kind of repor with them. It's a great feeling when someone says they missed you!!!!

it is going to be a HOT one today 104. Doug and I went on a ride yesterday to celebrate two birthdays. OMG!!! I think we must of covered over 300 miles. And hot, got stuck in traffic jams, told Doug I think I have blisters on my behind, lol. The day ended with friends partying at Swabbie's on the River, a popular biker hangout on the Sacramento River. Today we are going over to a friends to BBQ and swim.

i hate to hurt my kids with this kitty thing but i can't take it anymore.
the expense is killing me !
neuter them is 60.00 each +shots + worming + food = over 300.00 and that is at the spay and neuater clinics ! imagine what a vet would cost ?

googled kitty cat rescues. got some leads but i have to wait and see if they call me.
there is one in the next town over and i m really hoping and praying they take them !! its a sanctuary for animals.
yes for all 3 of them 100.00 each to do all that.
DH is finishing up his china and he may not go back for several months so we need to save all we can.
don't know when the next paycheck will come in ?
well off to a friends for fun and chicken but i m not in the mood ?
maybe when i get there.

Time flew so fast. Around this time last year, a bunch of us were at Cookie's and enjoying her gracious hospitality and her beautiful pond.
Memories were made and when we part company, we vowed to see each other again.
Sadly, I am not able to hold that promise. I'll be missing Sistah Judy's gathering this year :**(

Sue, I hope the sanctuary picks up the kitties. Most shelters here euthanize the older ones :(
Yes, it's sad that vet costs are so high. The average price to neuter or spay around here is $300 per kitty.
I am lucky we have one country vet that still charge the old price of 65 for neutering and 110 for spaying, that include all shots and meds.
If I were to live in Raleigh or Durham, where there is a vet. school, it would be far much lesser.

I got the kit!!!! Yayyy... even though it's applique!!! It's one of the 12 Garden Patch Cats series, the owner said some 'signees' dropped out and knowing I am new to applique, she said she wanted me to hone my skill!!
Eggplant Purr-mesan. It even has a recipe! Borrowed the pic off an online quilt site.

Jaye, I have that series and it is the perfect kit for anyone who loves cats!!!! The next series will be dogs and what I have seen so far, they are so funny. Such creative thinking on the designers part.

Ditto your remarks about our getting together. I had hoped so much to be at Joyce's last year but alas things happened. This year is out also. I am hoping so hard to be at Bettys next year. My great niece most likely will be getting married so that doubles the push to go to Canada.

We had some beautiful fireworks last night, set off by the city. I never saw so many people walk down our street on their way over to see them. The loud booms set off so many car alarms. Kind of nice to sit out in front yard to watch them. My doggies weren't too happy about all the noise.

I've been up since 1:30 AM and boy could I nap now. My left hip and leg had a lot of pain which kept me from sleeping so got up to take a pain pill. Got some reading done, one of my favorite pastimes. Don't want to fall asleep as it is my thrift store day and can't miss that. Today is 30% off of everything and I hope they have something interesting. Store is usually packed on days like this.

Dropping in with a Happy July 4th..can't be with my USA dg friends so I'm having a July 4th b.b.q.

Morning everyone! Time to wake up for some fresh coffee, biscuits, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs! Fresh fruit and OJ is in the fridge.

Good Morning Everyone, hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

LOL!! Dave's a complete tard, he thought it looked horrible, which it did because parts were still brown, parts were light light blond, parts were dark blond, and parts were orange, but he didn't want me spending any money to get it fixed as his unemployment runs out this Friday and without that we are screwed. We went to a wedding on Saturday and he bad mouthed me the whole time we were sitting at dinner, it was disgusting and got so bad he said how mistreated he is having to do everything around the house and Anita (his best friend's wife) popped up and asked who he thought he was as I get up and go to work every day at a job that I don't get paid what I'm worth and he seems to be the only one complaining. It shut him up. I was going to defend myself with his "You should see the way Christine does this, You should see the way Christine does that" and when I wanted a picture of him and his best friend together he got mad and rolled his eyes and glared at the camera, but I saw 9 others sitting at this round table glaring at him so I figured I would just let him talk his way into his own hole, which he did. After we got home we were sitting on the couch and I was talking to him and he told me that it's time to get another animal for me so I could annoy it and not him. He's trying to quit smoking so I know that's where a lot of this is coming from, but I'm wondering if that's the way he really feels??? Is quitting smoking like being drunk and your true feelings come out when your drunk??? I'm confused.

YEAH SUE!!! So glad that things are finally falling into place! Sometimes it just takes a breaking point to do something about what's making you miserable.

Crissy - good for you that you thought about the relationship between his quitting smoking and people who drink, but I don't think it applies in this case, simply because he only trashes you when he's with a certain group of friends.
However, that being said, the group of 9 were glaring at HIM lol good for them, and Anita for sticking up for you. Obviously they think very little of him when he "pulls this".
Good for him that he's trying to quit smoking, and the addiction will take some getting used to while the "poison" gets out of his system. I will pray for him that he does quit. I know that I quit 13 years ago, and my DH finally quit 12 years ago (he was a secret smoker, after he told me he'd quit........) and now he can't be around smokers - the smoke really bothers him (he said they Stink!). Bless both of you. It's difficult living with a person who's quitting.
I imagine it's difficult for him to not be working, while you are earning a wage, and with his unemployment......... Can he get an extension?
I know it sounds weird, but my DH & I are blessed that we're both unemployed at the same time - we get to spend time together, AND we're elegible for stuff that we wouldn't normally be eligible. Plus the fact that we're now getting OLD LOL
Anyway, Crissy - my advice is to "hang in there, sweetie". A successful marriage is when you fall in love over and over again with the same person. Of course that means you also have times you fall OUT of love, but that's to be expected when you're with someone a long time......
Someone asked me the other day how long Bob & I had been married, cuz we fill in each other's sentences LOL We've been married for 13.5 years, and together for 15.

Crissy .... hmmmm..... honestly i would have slapped him so hard that China could hear it. !! honestly i would talk to him and make sure he understands that is not acceptable behaviour. Just cuz he quits smoking doesn't give him the right to lash out and take it out on you. Honey its just my .02 cents worth. Tim once mouthed off to me once...... and it was his last !!
i know them ain't his true feelings. He is just angry at the world and smoking :) bless your heart and i sure hope he can get it together and realize how hurt your were when he said them things. Maybe an intervention would help ?
