Best/Worse/What did I learn today..a chat with friends!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Dear Lord, please send Your healing touch to all of these wonderful people who need Your help right now. Thanking you in Jesus' name. Amen
And sending my prayers to each of you, Bev, Deb, Carrie, Andy, Dianne and her DH, Laura, LK and all others who need help now. What a year this is turning out to be. Between weather disasters and falls and insect bites and accidents we are not having the best year. But we are all still together and here for each other. I'm so grateful.
Off to rest the eyes for a bit......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Amen to that Barb, the gals on this thread is what helps make it through the day at times....

Debbie, I'm at a loss for words, you have to be one of the strongest ladies I've ever had the change to meet..get a double dose of hershey kisses!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pictures taken of my garden this morning..

not many flowers, mostly green and the flowers I do have many are flattened by the rains..

There is one photo of all green..lol..got to get my prunners out, trees are so large that he hides the secret garden completely so lots of chop/chop/chop Saturday!

Oh Debbie I am so sorry that Carrie was in an accident!! How horrible for her, hope her knee heals fast without any other problems with it.

Betty that's beautiful!!

Bev so glad you're eyes are doing good! It's so wonderful being able to see again!

I'm still at Dad's, tonight is his birthday party so it's going to be a long day but a great time tonight. I made lasagna last night and it turned out wonderful, the sauce got real runny though but we didn't care. LOL

Oh! We went on a tour of the tornado damage yesterday and I got a lot of pics to show you when I get back to work.

See ya later gaters!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, glad you are having a great time with your father...have fun tonight and no hangovers..lol

Sing Happy Birthday to your dad for us!!!

Any news on Dave's interview..is it today?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yeah!! I meant to post it and forgot! I talked to him last night and he said that he was introduced to the rest of the guys he would be working with, sounds like he's going to get the job to me, I'm trying to not get excited in case this doesn't go through but it's hard not to.

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Crissy, wouldn't that be absolutely fantastic..

I'm with you, why on earth would he be introduced to the men if not because he'll be working with them???

Doing the happy dance here, well almost, will wait till you confirm!!!

Now wouldn't that be a reason to celebrate even more tonight..

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

laid in the garden for about 15 mins cause a landscaping timber was at my waist and couldn't roll off it. had to put pressure on bad wrist and got up. couldn't scream no one would hear. i see heart doc mon from having chest pain and almost passing out but had my nitro.last wed. bev

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Bev, you must have been terrified..guess your son works and you were all alone..thank goodness you didn't have a heart attack!! How on earth did a landscaping timer come over you??

It could have been so much worse...hope you are taking it easy today

Victoria Harbour, ON

Another 10 minutes and it's time to start a weekend..few things to do before going home..realized this morning that I didn't get the plate for my travel trailer, one never knows when I might get the urge to travel..then, Jeff wanted me to paint a sign for his/Julie's pet pig..lol so need wood for it..

Went shopping with Suzanne at lunch, ended up purchases wireless speakers for outside..often would love to listen to music but can't be bothered the carry a cd player outside so am hoping I can figure it out.

Still very overcast, imagine more rain tonight and tomorrow but as far as I can see it will be a relaxing weekend!

Anything special you have planned????

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

i fell over the timber so it was under my waist. rick was home and took me to the hospital. if i hadn't got up hard telling when anyone would find me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow, guess Rick couldn't hear you from inside and you would have the wind knocked out of you! Lucky lady...feeling a bit better this afternoon?

Laura, did you get to the doctors?? Are you bedridden?

Debbie, most likely busy with graduation and eating chocolates to ease the nerves but update please..

Went into Midland, got my plate for the trailer and ownership changed over so ready to take the road when the urge strikes me.

Have to close windows and doors as the town is celebrating 100 years and the've the beer tents set up at community center which is in the back of my yard a few doors down, can't see it for the tree'd concession but sure can hear it..can tell I'm old, rather lay on the chesterfield and enjoy a quiet night, let the young ones party!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

omygoodness, Bev - so glad someone was there to find you..........

Betty - I'm getting my new computer set up, and cleaning out a 2-times-past computer....... what a "Pain"!! I don't use that old computer anymore because it was S L O W............................................ and it's still slow LOL

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I have been on the run since 8:00 this morning non stop.

Carrie and Andy went to doctors, they are covered in bruises/contusions and muscle sprains. BUT nothing broken, thank heavens. Carrie still has no news on the other woman....so until something is in the paper or they get something from insurance, we keep praying she is OK.

Yes, running now to shower for Graduation. My son is so hormonal and nervous....I am going crazy on top of everything else.

WIll post more later with pictures I hope.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, you are lucky you have the knowledge to do such work with computers..I'd be needing another new one if I were to try!

Debbie, some of those injuries can cause a lot of problems later on, sure hope they keep a daily health log should something arise from it..
You'll be so glad to have the last graduation behind you..aren't boys funny..think their hormones are more active than girls at times..lol. How is the chocolate supply..yep waiting to see photo's..will hubby be home for it?

Yikes, talk about loud music

Just called mom, Jim made it through his operation..if all goes well over the next 3 or 4 days he should be able to come home..doctor said he's not aloud to drive or be in vehicle for at least 3 weeks..doubt he'll listen! Glad the operation went well though..

Melanie, my DIL just called to say they offered my driveway to a lot of their friends tonight..right now Clifford who has 3/4 country band will play until 8pm then a tribute band doing 'Hotel california' will play u til 2am..she wanted to know if I wanted to join them, said nope, I can listen from here..Kyle might come keep me company!

Already people are parking on the street and walking down to the grounds..maybe I should have been out charging for parking!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Party starting early, already they are here and going for steak dinner!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yum - did they invite you for steak dinner too??? lol
Glad to hear Jim came out of surgery well!

My ex will be going for a quadruple bypass - he had a stroke in Winnipeg (good thing he was home at the time - he's a truck driver and had just gotten home hours earlier) a week-ago Thursday (June 16th, when they were going to celebrate our daughter's birthday........) and he went straight to the hospital. Prayers for him, please.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sending prayers Susan..they do such wonders now with heart bypass..imagine if he would have been driving!!

Yes, got invited but it's so damp out think I'll settle for a bologna sandwich!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Betty - he's 63, and has never taken care of himself.

Shutting down for the evening - Movie Night tonight (Friendly Persuasion, 1956) and then I have folding of church newsletters, too! ^_^
Have a wonderful evening, everyone!

Victoria Harbour, ON

You sure know how to keep yourself busy!! 63 is so young (better say that, I'm same age). Lol

Must be mom night, Greg said he loved my new pond, jeff just called to say hi, think it was more to find out if I painted the pig sign and kyle's here..was going to connect new speaker unit but need a piece so he'll do it tomorrow if I go to pick it up...right now he's at the restaurant getting us fish/chips...our treat!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, did you ever get the boat cover done?
Gals to hear Jim's surgery is over. What surgery did he have?

We are in San Angelo, just had dinner at Outback Steakhouse! YUMMY!
We went to Best Buy, and we have a new computer tower, as soon as I get home tomorrow, it will be set up.

Debbie, hope the graduation went well? Waiting for pictures.

Susan, sending prayers for your ex, that is too young for surgery, but sure glad to hear he was home when it happened.

Lyndonville, NY

Hi! I am back. Graduation went well, and the last of the "guests" just left.

Family bonding after yesterdays accident, and we all just needed to laugh.

In-laws came and went...no incident even though my oldest was a snot.

Carrie and Andy were there, and came home for cake and ice cream also. Carrie has a badly bruised hand and knee....both on right side. Knee looks worse....but doctor said both need rest...ice and ibuprofen. Andy is moving slow also...his pain is in back, mostly from pulling door off truck to get Carrie out.

Graduation went well. He has been such a snot, there were NO tears. Ok, so maybe a little during the Senior Song, but not "I am going to miss you" tears....more of "Proud" tears of all those kids I have know since they were 3 or 4 years old.

Took lots of pictures....will load them tomorrow and give a better update.

I am heading to bed...exhausted.

OHHHH and I didn't even have chocolate!

Debbie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, it's too young......

Well, another movie night is over - Friendly Persuasion with Gary Cooper (1956). It was really good! About Quakers, during the Civil War, and how they became involved.....

Lexington Park, MD

Goodmorning to all.
Thank you for the prayer Barb.
Betty I lifted something that was over 10lbs. I know better.
Meds put me out.........so try not to take often.
Coffee is on....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, thanks for the coffee, I picked up 'timmies' for us...

Laura, omg, there is nothing much that doesn't weigh 10 lbs! Listening to what the doctor says would be soooo difficult..so today you'll be laying with feet up reading a good book?

Susan, were there many for the movie? I have the oldies but goodies channel and find myself watching that channel often..loves the Spencer Tracey /Audrey Hepburn movies..

LindaKay, I love eating at outback but can only do so when traveling USA..Barrie had one but they closed, think the food was a bit too spicy for most..I rarely use my main computer since having the I-pad, were you missing it..know the I-pad has some needed features...bet not minutes after you arrive home you'll have the tower connected! No didn't do the tarp and today would have been the perfect day..sooo damp that although it's not raining you can feel it in the air..says off/on rain until tonight then clear up it will and a nice day tomorrow
Debbie, it's all behind you now, breath in/breath out..now you can hide those chocolates for another day! I think a close call such as Carrie and Andy had can bring families closer together knowing how in a
blink of a second you could have lost them..now the Lord is called upon to help them heal..looking forward to the photo's

Dianne, been thinking of you and hubby this morning' sending prayers for both!

Not often am I at a loss of how to spend my day but am this morning..our 100 year town anniversary/Canada Day Celebrations continue..parade scheduled for noon, think Greg and boys are in it, must check the route..normally runs right here at the corner..then more festivities..need to get the waterfall done, have some quilting blocks I could do..so much and yet feel out of sorts this morning!
Even the animals have their favorite spot picked out and are sleeping away..

What to do, what to do??

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

What is the mail situation doing? Does it sound like things might get straightened out soon?
I have stuff to mail to you!!!!
Sound like a day to paint a pig sign!!!!
I'm only on here for ten minutes at a time and must check out the sewing..
Enjoy your day everyone and my prayers continue for all of you....especially thinking of Bev and Dianne and Shirley. God bless.....

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Good Morning Everyone!

This is the third time I've tried to send a post. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm, we'll see. Just wanted to let ya all know I'm okay and will make it. I want to say a big Thanks! for all your thoughts and prayers and guidance. You are all earthly angels just incase you don't know it. I am so thankful for all of you and for Tubby bringing you into my life.

I've been busy pulling and whacking down weeds and mowing. I'll be lucky to get things done by fall or before the snow blows. We are having rain again today, but it is suppose to clear off later today, so maybe I can mow then. We;ve not had it as bad as some of the places so I can't complain. I will work inside until I can go out. I will probably go up and see my Mom tomorrow. She is on a waiting list to get in a NH, I think she has said her own prayers as she really doesn't want to go. LOL!

I want to send gentle HUGS and prayers for all those that need it. I'm so sorry to here of all the tragedy that has gone on in everyones life and wish you all and them a speedy recovery. I think of you all often and wish you the best.

Better go and get some stuff done and hope this goes through this time. Please have a good weekend and God Bless you all. You are never far from my thoughts or heart.

Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, NO end to the mail situation, real zoo going on in parliament trying to legislate back to work order..thank goodness for interact bill payment or it would make things difficult dor all!

Yesterday at my door was the municipal hydro bill, comes out automatically from acct. But guess they hand delivered!

So if you've something for me, just keep it until your visit.

Ok, you talked me into it Barb, cut a piece of wood, routered the edges, gave a light coat of stain to seal the wood and now at a loss of what to put on it..my thoughts were to cut out 2 piggies, base coat top in a color and do lettering in bright pink..Jeff wants it to say Lily's Pad!! Simple enough.

Shirley, how wonderful to see you post..overwhelming for sure to see how much work needs doing..mini micro manage it by scheduling little bits at a time then you won't be so overwhelmed with all that has to be done..we must have the same kind of day..pouring out there, don't need it! Wish we could send to you all who are in need!

Is there a long wait to get into nursing homes in your neck of the woods..lordy here you can wait several years..that is why hospitals are so full, many of our seniors are using their beds versus nursing homes!
Greg was on his way to Barrie to came to see what I needed for my music system and will pick up the part..wanted to know if I was sick as I am still in jambes, really should get dressed and take a ride to town..

Greg told me I missed a good time last night..said Ann was there with
her girls..oh well can't do everything right?

Betty, get yourself up and at it!!!

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty .... I'm like you.... "What to do What to do". Hubs is working. 1 kid just left for work the other two must be sleeping... will probably sleep till noon. Belle wants to play ball...she's excited that I am home... sunshine but ground too wet to plant... Hmmm... Would go out and run errands but I would feel guilty leaving Belle... isn't that silly ?

Glad to see everyone up and posting ! Yes Shirley love my angels on here... what would I do without you all ?

Hugs,
Mary

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

my heart blockages may have caused the fall. had a spell of pain day before in nursing home. All scotty can do is rant and rave about coming home for me to take care of him. he ruined therapy so medicare quit paying. igo to heart doc mon and then to hosp for a permanent cast mon eve.love and prayers to all. bev

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Bev, you've so much on your plate as well..right now it's not about worrying re Scotty, and don't you be feeling guilty about bringing him home to look after, it's about making sure all your health needs are looked after...does Scotty being in health care system create a problem for you getting proper medical help?

Mary, if we lived closer we could hang out on this rainy day..I've finally got dressed, some warm clothing due to cold temps, for a few minutes it almost looked like the sun might try and come out..

Off you go Mary, Belle will be fine, time you go out and do something for yourself...gardening will be there tomorrow.

Time to give the sign another coat of paint...

Want to know how bored I am?? Watching a show on BBQ cooking..did see a grilled munchie, 4 or five long green beans tied with the green of long onions, grilled with butter, touch of garlic spice and they did stuffed onions, who knows, if it keeps raining i just might become a cook.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

no. the fed law says they are not allowed to impoverish the spouse. but i will be if he passes.

Baton Rouge, LA

I should have done that Betty... but ended up outside. I potted 3 Cassia... hoping one 'takes' so I can send to LK.... If a second does that can go in the future front door jungle.

I used 3 parts compost, 2 parts Perlite, and 3 parts Miracle Gro potting soil.... any advice on that?

Now I'm dripping with sweat... wow Betty - if we could mix both our climates we'd have a perfect day... LOL...

HUGE Hugs to Bev and Dianne... Shirley and all going through tough times... Prayers being said too...

I'll pop back in a bit...

Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Bev, you would get spousal pension wouldn't you??

Not sure what is up with me?? So much going on re town and Canada celebrations and yet here I sit down in the dumps..

Baton Rouge, LA

Awe Betty ! ((HUGS)) Maybe it's the anniversary of something and you just don't remember... or sometimes I think that and just realize that something has me missing Mom. (Thats usually it with me). Anyway sometimes you just gotta take a "Day off".
