Best/Worse/What did I learn today..a chat with friends!

Lyndonville, NY

I was out there several times....and have 42 different pictures of these birds. I have always had a cardinal connection...just love them.

Wow Deb... I do think animals know or have a sense of who is friendly towards them... I guess I'll start calling you CM... "Cardinal Mom".... Did you get the squirrel feeders filled? sure you did... headed to check my mail in a minute...

reminds me of Laura's Bunny Rabbit... when was/ is that bday? sorry can't remember. YES - LK - should have a full day tomorrow... I invited DS and his GF to lunch with niece once they make it in... I'm sure they can't tell me exactly when... it's about 5 hours from Ft. Walton to here... she said around 1p... hope they run a bit late so I can visit with my old friend....

She is my son's only "real" (not step) girl cousin,, and they used to be so close... so I was upset that he felt slighted by her at her wedding. ( we all know... a bride has SO many obligations and can't be right next to any one person) so I'm happy hoping for this opportunity for them to spend some real time together.... I really want them to be close... heavens sake... I have a pic of them in the tub together age 3 & 5... yet with all the miles between us... it's been hard to spend time together...
Back in a bit.. ((HUGS)

OHHH, I forgot the bunny picture! Mary, it isn't just cardinals....rabbits, squirrels....raccoons, elk...yes elk.....it is strange. Hubby once in awhile calls me "snow white" or Cinderella" with the little animals following.

And no...no feeders filled. We are out of bird and squirrel seeds altogether!

I don't know if giving them the wrong wording will slow down my getting benefits. I know, and now they know, that it was "no cause" so that's good. I wasn't going to get my benefits until 6 weeks after my job ended, which would be 6 weeks, plus 2 wks waiting time - so end of July.

I got a new computer CPU! My old one was so "crankingly slow" that I was having trouble getting on the 'net! 1/3 of the time it took re-booting the modem AND the PC before I could get online......
And my old keyboard wouldn't fit with the new CPU so I had to get a new keyboard ($13), and I may as well get a mic ($10) so I could go on Skype! The CPU only cost $75, as it's a friend of my DH and he only charged for an hour of his time. He didn't even take the old one so we now have TWO of my old ones here. Dunno what I'm going to do with them
So, for $98 I got a new system, keyboard and mic! How about that for a deal?!?!?! Oh, and it's "loaded" with everything I use - ALL of MS Office, etc. I'm very happy!!

I have PT in the morning, so have to head to bed.

Barb I am so very happy for you! I can't wait to read your next post to hear how well you can see.
Debbie your cardinal pics are wonderful. Glad you are getting the enhanced licence - now I need to do something about that too. I keep saying I am going to go have my pic taken for my passport the next time I am in Kingston but I never do it.
You have been 1 little busy bee there Betty. How wonderful you have Cathy to be your 'good fairy'. I am sure you are very good to her also.
Laura how was the 'bunny' present received? I bet you llittle one was estatic.
LK how is your hand coming along?
Wicked T and L storm moving in so I will shut down now.

Ok here is my 6year old. And he loves his bunny. He is being very responsible with feeding and changing the cage. Oh he named her BEA BEA. No idea where that came from . I was pushing the name Thumper of course.

DRATS and more DRATS..I kept looking for new posts..nope, everyone was so quiet, even woke up a couple of times and seeing my ipad was on the bed thought I'd check to see if there was someone to play with..nope, not one post..

BOO HOO thought you all didn't love me anymore and I was soooo sad!

What a surprise when finally a few minutes ago while searching through main files I found you all..what could have happened..here it's almost noon and I was feeling so blue..now I'm smilling, excited as can be..lordy, what I'd do without you gals is beyond me...

Barb, so very pleased to see that you have had your second eye done..just think, you'll have 20/20 vision when you visit, yikes, best I get rid of the dust bunnies under your bed...let me see???? oh oh, still have that 5' stained glass blue heron under there, he does NOT know where to go and hide but under your bed..he won't frighten either of you will he?
Was trying to figure out what you and I could do as a project so that you could take it home as a treasure from our visit...thought you might need a painted rug for under your table, or in front of the kitchen zinc or perhaps one of those cement birdbaths..get your mind a working gal, we have to do something together (and include Norm of course)!!! any thought on something we could do??

Debbie, I think if you don't mind my saying so and as you've been in your mom's memorial garden and she's been on your mind of late that she's telling you she loves you .. wants you to take care of yourself as you take care of Mother nature's birds/animals and is telling you to smile more often..life will get better..just take time for you and enjoy yourself...she didn't by anychance send a squirrel to the feeder saying 'go visit Betty' ???

Susan, so exciting to hear you have new computer system...as we Silver Surfers know, sometimes we have trouble with our computers. I had a problem last night with mine, so I called Kyle who clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. I asked him what was wrong???
He said , 'It 's an ID ten T error.' I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless asked him what an 'ID ten T error was ??? in case I needed to fix it again.'
Kyle said 'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?
'Nope,' I replied.
'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'
So I wrote down:

ID10T
He once was one of my favorite grandsons..lol

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LOL I'd heard of this before (in my techie days we also had a "lobotomy" button next to our desk for some of our callers - j/k, j/k!!)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! Kids!!! Glad you got it fixed Betty.

Now tell me how your own thread?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Don't know, must have pressed do not watch when I was trying to touch back to thread..things are so small on the i-pad..I know I can enlarge but never do..

Yes, it was only a joke, thought I'd share it with you...

Shirley, you have been on my mind a lot these past few days...going through my old archive saving I came across this...Tubby had posted it and I think you should read it...

"IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME"

A few weeks ago a woman was killed in an auto
accident. She was very well liked, so the office shut down
for her funeral and it was on the news and so on. On the day
the workers came back to work, they found this poem in their
e-mail that the deceased woman had sent on Friday before she
left for home.

"If tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see,
if the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name,
and took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready,
in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
for all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
so much left yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad;
I thought of all that we shared,
and all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home,
when God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,

He said, "This is eternity,
and all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
but here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
and since each day is the same way,
there's no longing for the past.

You have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true,
though there were times you did some things,
you knew you shouldn't do.

But you have been forgiven,
and now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand,
and share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart " .

May God watch over you and your family now and
always. There is no right time to do the wrong thing. .
there is no wrong time to tell someone you care.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry Susan, meant to type how did you lose your own thread to Betty. But this iPad types what it wants to sometimes.
I will have to read what I type before I send it out!

Laura, just loved the photo of your son with the bunny rabbit...let's hope it doesn't run away...do you have a pen outside for it now that he knows he has a bunny???

When my boys had a bunny I would have them go to local grocery store and ask if he could have carrot ends, lettuce etc. to feed his pet..mgr's thought it was terrific and would save it for them.

Enjoy your afternoon Susan! Was just joking about the 'snow' though..lol

Found this photo that Tubby had posted of good times..

Not sure why but my mind today has been focused on Shirley...ask you all for special prayers for her ..

Evening all, think the storm finally passed..talk about rain..

Had a representative come visit, home inspection..they say that every client will have to do same..measured house, made notes of what walls/floors are made of..how much ceramic tile, how much painted, how much of each..what kind of heat/alternate heat...how many decks, size of deck etc.etc.

She did have a compliment for me..said if she could pick up my cute country home and put it in the country she'd do so in a minute!! Also wanted to know if I sold the rhubbarb leaves..told her no....said they'd call me in a few weeks to let me know what increases or decreases will be..now you just know they wont decrease premiums..told her if it rises much more I'm going in search of a new insurance provider..with car, house, boat, contents I already spend. $1,750 a year which I think is a lot!!

Hmmm not sure what I want to do tonight..Cathy was here and cut the grass between rain falls, gardens too wet to work in..maybe a hot bath, putting my jammies on and relaxing would be the thing to do!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good evening all. Would you believe I am typing this without the benefit of glasses????? Yup, from now on they are only for reading!!! I'm so thrilled with my ability to see again....
Now I can get back to my sewing. Only need the glasses for reading....
Thank you all so much for bucking me up through these surgeries. I really appreciate it and it worked. I made it through with flying colors....Just need to rest a bit for healing to coninue and I'm going to be just fine....
Talk with you tomorrow..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hurrah Barb, how exciting is that..surely though you've just had the 2 nd eye done and you aren't going to start sewing already! Marvelous what they can do for eyesight...you would think they could manufacture something to help the boing see..maybe in our day we will get to see such technology!

Gabbed a bit with Greg, he's still recouping from his weekend of work, think he was heading to bed as well!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I can at least pick out fabrics for the blocks and get them ready for cutting. I suppose I must be good and give the eyes a chance to heal. I'm just so excited about not wearing the glasses!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Exciting for sure!! I would be worried about doing too much..did he say let heal for a few days?

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Fell in garden and my right wrist fractured pretty bad. Have temperary cast and a lot of pain. Get permenant cast Tues. Can.t do too much with my left hand but wil learn. hugs bev

Lyndonville, NY

OHHH Bev!!!! I am so sorry! Please take care, and keep ice on it, even thru the cast....it helps keep cool and swelling down. Lots of hugs.

Barb I am so very happy about your eyes....that is just wonderful. You will enjoy your traveling even more now!

Well, some scary....and not so good news here.

Our daughter Carrie and her husband were in a VERY bad accident. A woman ran a stop sign and Andy hit her with the truck. The condition of the woman is unknown....but Carrie doesn't think she made it....please keep them all in your prayers. They are both a wreck, thankfully just "sore" but carries leg/foot got banged up pretty bad. The truck, which isnt' even 6 months old is totalled they believe......but that is all just hunks of metal. That woman and the kids are what is important.

Will be back in a bit.....still waiting for DH to get home from work and it is almost 9:30! Chaos there too.

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ;

Oh Deb.. so sad more chaos for you.... My prayers for Carrie and Hubby...THANK GOD They are okay... even if scrapes and scratches I hope they can get to a chiropractor soon... things get out of whack even if things seem okay. Prayers for the lady who ran the stop sign.
It's just scary driving these days with people texting and such... wonder where was her mind? You never know....

Laura - don't know what's cuter... Your DS or the bunny ... both are precious...

Betty - LOL That is hilarious ID 10 T.... Will try to remember that one.... Love Shirley's saying.... wonder if you couldve bribed the agent to decrease rates with a rhubarb fountain LOL..... Barb I am SO glad you can see better ! How wonderful....
And Bev... Oh my goodness - you take good care of yourself lady !

I'll pop back in a bit.... I had a wild and crazy day. But it was a good day.

((HUGS))
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary...how was your day???

Well, just got off the phone with Carrie. Her leg was sore initially...took her pants off, and there is fluid under the skin on her knee that she can see...and now, she is in major pain. She was sitting "indian style" on the truck seat...and it actually stopped her from flying forward into the dash. BUT it sent her leg into the truck door...and twisted her hip. She is packed in ice. Andy sounds like he has whiplash...and a strained back. They will both be going to the doctors first thing in the morning...or ER if it gets worst tonight.

God bless this little lady in the accident. She should NOT have been driving. She was born in 1927 Carrie said she was alive...but unresponsive. As much pain as DD was in, she was trying to comfort the woman and her and Andy get the door open to help. Carrie does have quite a bit of medical experience...so she knew not to move her, but was trying to put compression on some of her bleeding. She said it was a very nasty head trauma injury.

We wont' know more til tomorrow, and no one will say how the woman is doing. Just praying she is OK.

DH just got home form work at 10:00 and has to be up and moving back to work at 4:15 in the morning. He is so sore and tired.

I will be back....
Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, so much going on today. Bev, so sorry to hear you fell and broke your wrist. Will you need surgery? In agree, ice packs, even on top of the cast will help.
Barb, glad to hear your eye surgeries are done. Must be nice to see clearly?
Debbie, sorry to hear about the accident! Praying the lady will be OK! Make sure that Carrie and Andy get the attention they need.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Wow - so much going on - I can't leave the room anymore, can I?
Barb - fabulous eyes, lady!! Don't overdo - did the Dr say how long to let them heal without straining?
Bev - are you icing your wrist? I'm sure it will be good when you get your cast - more support.
Deb - so glad for your Carrie and Andy are not having to deal with the passing of the older lady - that would be traumatic, indeed. Poor Carrie with her hip and leg. Major pain indeed. and poor Andy. Very good thing Carrie has medical experience, and able to deal with it in such a terrible accident.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Bev so sorry to hear about your wrist.
Barb I bet you are just so thrilled to see clearly. Just take it easy and do not over do.
Debbie prayers for Carrie and Andy and that poor women.
Betty bunny stays inside in a cage when she is not out playing and being held.
Off to the DR for my back. I did something I should not have done and now in so much pain..........
Hope all have a great day ....try to stop by later

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning to all, yikes won't say 'good morning' because so much has happened since I went to bed last night...it's damp and dark this morning, sky is heavy wanting to rain..walked the gardens, so much down due to torrential rains..still not a lot flowering..it's just so disappointing after putting so much work and love into them!!

Where to start??

Bev, sorry to hear about your injury..did you lose your balance or trip over something?? Do they wait till Tuesday for the main cast because it's swollen badly..yikes, was someone around to take you to emerge? Let's hope you can get something in you today that will ease the pain..

Debbie what to say?? OMG cannot imagine how in a dizzy you would have been to get that call..thank the Lord Carrie and Andy are ok..know today, now that the shock has passed will be feeling sore and realize they do have injuries..I'm with you, the lady was quite elderly, 84 hmm could be part of the reason for the accident but I know some in same age bracket who drive perfectly..poor lady, have you heard how she's doing?? Thank goodness for Carrie's medical knowledge.. I'd also be worrying about Paul and the long hours and drive back and to work..any news on the job front? Hugs for you this morning, am sure you will be worried until you get to see Carrie and Andy.

Laura, you were just starting to feel so much better with you back and now you tweaked it again..now what did you do that you should not have done..am sure you were preparing for the next long weekend going camping, let's hope you can take it easy and give it time to heal before then..drats only a week away!! What did you name the bunny!

Thunder, bet you are counting the days??

Have to get a move on..gab when I get to work!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Just wanted to let you know I will be gone for the day. Going to San Angelo for a follow up on my back, just a normal trip every 3-4 months. I will be back tomorrow, and hopefully with a new tower for the computer!

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning,

Not much sleep last night. A moms mind never shuts off, especiall after something like that last night. Betty, you are right. That call sent me into almost panic but I held it together....I was in Lockport on the road driving myself with the youngest two in the car....so had to maintain calm to keep them calm.

And today is Graduation for Shane. Perhaps "the mom" should be medicated to get thru this....hersheys kisses stuffed in the purse sounds good!

Errands this morning, and off and running. Thank you all so very very much for your thoughts and prayers.

Debbie
