GM Susie and all. Been awake since 4:00 .... ugh! Didn't get to sleep until midnight. This is going to be a VERY LONG DAY!!!!

Our local news is telling that about 1/3 of the western part of the state is considered "Exceptionally Dry" which is as dry as you can get ......desert conditions. Our little area is not considered in drought, but all around us it is. Thank you God for giving us some rain to keep us out of a drought.

Have a great day everyone and a wonderful weekend. It will be HOT HOT HOT .... but I have so much to do I'm going to take my gallon of gatorade out and work work work. ^_^

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Wowzer that is a list......bet your gardens are beautiful.

Debra posted on another forum so I know she is ok. She is flowerring like usually...;)

We got a relief from the hot but I could still use some rain, nothing like you guys tho.....I think next week we warm up again. Rained in the city again, what's with that....all the time. We have had lows in the 60's which felt amazing. Each day the humidity is climbing again.

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday. I really miss her, but I didn't let it be a sad day, I worked in the garden and have so many good memories there from her old concrete frog, to the old concrete planter from her house, to all the wonderful flowers we shared. But I will say I will be glad when all these 1st are over.

These lilies match my car....rofl.

Beautiful flowers Joyce.

We are forecast to be in the triple digets "at least" 3 of the 5 workdays next week. Can you say UGH!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

OH NO, Crit!!!! I was thinking yesterday I shouldn't be working in the hosta garden since it is cooler and get my behind on the west side of the house before it becomes hot enough to fry an egg in the grass! Which I am sure it will be. So yesterday I go back to the west side and pick up my watering can and I think hummm I left water in it, so I kind of shook it to see how much was still in the bottom, then looked inside and promptly threw it across the yard.....see what I saw.....

Thumbnail by happgarden
Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I truely believe this is the same snake I threw across the yard this spring when I was raking pine needles and he had crawled up inside to get warm. You would think he would get tired of going on these joy rides across the yard! Geez! I waited patiently but he was not leaving the water can until he was good darn and ready and trust me I was NOT going to pick it up and shake him out! My big fear is the dork gets in the garden room or the shed, then his life span will be much shortened along with mine!

This is a sad sad picture, probably the 9th big pine tree to be cut down, all were about this size, about 12 or so to go.......makes the landscape look so bare, the whole road had pine trees growing up it......no more! Now I can see the road down below.

Crit, yes I will share with you! Still have Dlilys that haven't bloomed yet. Joyce, lol I missed the snake, where is it?
Pretty purple & yellow blooms.

Look in the opening where you would fill it with water and you will see his little smiling face just poking out say HI, I scared you....fttalmbo.

(flying thru the air laughing my butt off).

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Oh love that orange, looks like orange sherbet.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Ok, I wish I could tell you I planted this together and what a great eye I have but....what a lie that would be. But it did make for a pretty picture from pure accident.

Happ, thanks for letting us know about Neener's Dad passing! Sending prayers!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful blooms! Susan your Wish Fulfillment is so pretty I had to look at the pic. of mine to make sure it was the same as mine. LOL was about to ask for a fan.
Happ, sure is a pretty accident, magazine quality.
So sorry about Nita's Dad. Will be praying that the family will find comfort in the knowledge that his suffering is over.
Crit, very pretty Lily you have there.
OH, and I never could see the snake, lol maybe he crawled back into the water can.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Oh I feel for Neener.......lots of hugs and prayers for her and the family.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I drew a circle around his little smiling snake face, he wouldn't pop out very far with me standing there. I really needed the water can but he wasn't budging.

Crit, another beautiful bloom! Think I will cut one and take to the office. Need to take a pic I have one that is atleast as tall as me about 5 1/2 feet! One year a friend gave me one of those dung animals....and that is where it sat, and it must of really fertilized that area!

Sometimes good accidents happen. (the daylily and the yarrow) That is the west side of the house and heavens does it get warm....

Couldn't sleep last night and was up until about 3 or so then got up early to finish cleaning and get lunch started, played with DGD all day, friends stopped by right right after family left, had a great day, but I am shot....rofl. Tried to take a nap, not possible...rofl.
Sunny, humiddddddd here and HOT....hopefully can get outside this early evening.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY HAPP & MANY MANY MORE TO COME :) HEHE

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, time for you to check in please? Praying your just busy, and not sick!

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

I've seen Debra posting on another thread. She was upset because her new neighbors cut down all the shrubs and trees that shaded her brugs, and were cutting down all the becautiful trees in their yard! I'd be upset too!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What thread is she posting on? Glad to hear she is OK! Wow, I would be too, but not much she can do if it is the neighbors yard! Why would they want to cut down all those pretty tree's?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I know how Debra feels about the trees, my problem is ours are sick and have to be cut down. Just to cut down a tree for no reason would be the pits!

We had downpours this morning and lots of thunder which did not make the basset happy nor me. I was tired yesterday and oh so needed sleep, but if the thunder gets bad the dog gets hyper. Course if the storm lasts very long the basset manages to figure out how to go back to sleep once he has woken you up at 2:30 in the morning! Needed rain but not sure we needed that much that fast... ;)

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Debra was posting on a plant swap thread. I don't remember which one since I am on 3. There is Red, White, & Blue, Zone, and tropical, can't remember which sorry.

Ya know you can always tell new homeowners, they just have to go in and redo the landscaping which is usually cutting and removing. Then after a year or so, that is it for the next 15 years and then they sell and the new homeowners do the same thing...rofl.

Well DH is gonna get me the lumber for my pergola! YEAH! He wanted to go Sunday evening but I just didn't have the umph! LOL All I want him to do is set the 4 posts and I will do the rest, then I can get it my way...rofl. Love him to death but like most sweet guys they always have a better way which may not match what you want....LOL

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

happ! you are going to build the pergola yourself! Wow lady do I admire you. We had ours done and boy did those men work. I am so glad we have it and do hope you will enjoy yours just as much as we do.
Here is the link to my Daylily pictures.
