sure ... you buying Victor??
Spending spree #7
Hee hee.
DARN YOU!!!!
sorry
We're such a a bunch of enablers!!!
I need early daffs since our place wakes up so late (iPad said solute?!)...Dutch Master, Mount Hood...and Actaea because I love it, even though it's late. Snowdrops, we don't have any. Saffron crocus, I finally know the perfect spot. Leucojum, and a white TBI, Immortality.
I'm sure I'll add a package of something or other between now and frost, that's what usually happens...
Pam
Pam, when I come down there on the 24th I could bring you some snowdrops and crocus bulbs. I have lots! Oh, and you could have some of my Immortality, too.
Karen
Thanks for letting us know about the GC heuchera sale, Allison! I put Berry Smoothie, Sparkling Burgundy and Southern Comfort in my cart and then saw the $17+ shipping. Ugh. I'll have to think about this. :( I need to find a good source of heuchera with a good selection close by. It's the shipping that usually stops me in my tracks. It doesn't feel like a sale when you end up paying more than the usual price at a garden center. But those cultivars are hard to find, so I'm thinking.....
That's why I ordered....last year, everything I wanted was sold out....and a heuchera I did want was selling for $20.00 at the nursery...plus gas to get there & back.....
Wow Karen, it's such a long drive- are you really coming? I'll be thrilled! And I hope I have things you'd like to take back with you too?...
But the rest of you are bums! I didn't realize you meant an on-line site. Now I'll have to order more...and I promised J I wouldn't buy any more until everything's planted. The way around that, of course, is to pot up what I can't quite place right now and tell him they're planted. Can do...
Pam
PS He's really a sweetie, I can do whatever I want in the garden. He knows it's over his head, appreciates the improvements, but worries that i take on too much. Don't want to make him into a bad guy, he doesn't deserve it.
We're such enablers! But the gardens have always been my refuge....My DH used to complain about the plant deliveries, but he knew they made me happy......
louise mason hollow in mason nh has a good assortment of coral bells
Yes, I'm really coming down, Pam. Oh, btw, I potted up all the new DL's I got this year. They are waiting for me to dig out old ones to make room for the new, as well as make one or two new beds. Sigh!!!! More to do!
Karen
Is Mason in your area, Bill? I'm not sure where it is.
You are so right, Marilyn. There are so many worse addictions we could all have! Ours brings beauty to the world, at least! lol
louise when you come down 119 and enter townsend take a left at 13 and up to mason rd. there may be a quicker way for you if you google it - under 20 min from our home.
I had a fun time visiting Harmon Hill Farm after the RU on Saturday. Got lots of pics and spent about $80 on daylilies. Carl Harmon was really nice and gave me good sized clumps. The ones I got are Carl's Folly (his own intro, first and only so far, which is a really tall, deep purple one), Tigereye Spider, Rainbow Towers (a very tall [5' 4"] gold, spidery one), White Dragon (very large [8"] cream white bloom, but not that tall), Kevin Michael Coyne (9" yellow spider that gets 26" tall) and South Seas (an older intro from 1961 that I've wanted for a long time).
Here's a pic of Kevin Michael Coyne.
Karen
I didn't get any pics of Carl's Folly or South Seas.
Karen
I just looked up Carl's Folly-- OMG it's gorgeous! I'm on a purple spree, looking for ways to liven up the smokebush behind the cutting garden. In the spring...
Pam
Isn't it a gogeous one, Pam? Maybe I can give you some when it multiplies.
Here's a link to a new thread I put up in the daylilies forums of all the pics I took at Harmon Hill Farm.
