Spending spree #7
would have to hide that order for sure!!.. or at least the bill.. LOL
I recently wrote an article on Peonies, so the payment that I got for that article will cover a good chunk of it, thus no guilt. Plus they will out live me, so I will tell my son they are an early Christmas gift for the year 2030. They have since discounted the Eliza Lundy to 18.00 so the bill has gone down 10.00 more bucks. Patti
and the coop discount is not noted:)
Nice list, Patti. Where is this coop? I didn't see it in the coop forum.
Nice Patti! I am getting into peonies more and more, they look great blooming w/the roses and JI's!
Songs...co-ops on the "OTHER" site.
cute sign!
ok soooo I went back to Ace.. and realized they have perennials in gallon containers for $1.50!!!!!.. I bought 5 gaura http://www.perennials.com/seeplant.html?item=1.224.150 and going to give a couple to Michele.. and 5 angelonia... and 6 hanging baskets for Michele.. mind you it was supposed to be a limit of 5 plants per customer.. I figured we can swing 10 for sure.. Randy was with me.. and the sales person.. said.. oh don't worry about.. we will split up the orders for you.. LOL.. getting to love that place!!!
I love angelonia....this year I bought pink....but I paid a heck of a lot more!
I paid $2.50 for a 4" pot.. LOL.. don't feel bad.. I started drooling when I saw it was in a gallon size for that price.. one pink & 4 purple.. such a nice plant .. blooms forever
Nice haul!!
Great haul Allison! Love the weed sign. Too funny!
Nice lot of peonies you're getting, Patti.
I was bad today. Went to Kennedy's Country Gardens after my plant sale (made some decent money for a change.) and got 2 perennials, a bunch more annuals and a white lace cap hydrangea called Wedding Gown that is just gorgeous!
Karen
nutsfordaylily
you are a girl after my own heart, I sell plants to have money to go out a purchase other plants....LOL
Jan
love the wedding gown
Nice, Karen!
Thanks, Victor.
Yes, meadowyck, I have to have my plant spending money. Might as well sell off my surplus to get that money.
Karen
That's a very pretty hydrangea, Karen.....
Thanks, Marilyn. I fell in love with it. I planted it yesterday. Will take a pic today.
Karen
Great hydrangea!
I know we talked about this before but I have short term memory loss...LOL
Comparing Brent and Becky's with John Scheeper's for the quality of the bulbs...are they about the same? I know Scheeper's is cheaper, about to place my fall order and trying to decide who to get my bulbs from
Long time since I ordered from Scheeper. B&B never disappointed me.
We have always ordered from Sheepers. Just never have done so from the other. I wouldn't order their peonies though, quite small. Bulbs are fine.
Thanks, Jen.
Never ordered bulbs from either place, so I couldn't tell ya.
Karen
flowAjen, I order from both. I compare prices and it varies from bulb to bulb who is cheapest, but happy with either of them as well as Van Engelen. I send in orders to both always. I also always look at Eflowergarden too for good prices through his coops especially for tulips. Patti
Not familiar with that hydrangea, Allison......instead of 'hardy' I look for 'blooms on old & new wood'.....
great tip.. thanks.. def new wood.. so maybe not
Yes, you want them to bloom on new wood....the buds on the old wood freeze during the winter.....
Remember that Van Engelen is Sheepers wholesale business.
the blooms are bigger than the rooted cutting
well I did find something.. not in English.. but I think it was the one next to it on the shelf.. and not the one I bought
http://www.hortensia-hydrangea.fr/hortensia-hydrangea/les-nouveautes/68-sandy.html
oops I hope yours is the correct one.
Well, I could read a few of the words, but not any that would help with the hardiness....
do you have a 'translate' key awailable?
There's a Hydrangea 'Sandra' but it's a lacecap
yeah I saw that too Jen
