Hey Bev!!! My iris are done too, they sure didn't last long, think I'm going to replace them with something that either blooms longer or more often.

Bev, how long would you say the iris blooming lasts??? you cut them right to the ground? Mine like Synda's are not yet in bloom..don't have many but will share a photo when they are in bloom.

No I don't cut them to the ground. Just cut out the spent stalks and most of the leaves just below the last leaf spot. that have leaf spot. I didn't clean them out last fall and they got this fungus that will kill them if you don't let them have air and will rot away. I lost some from last yr.

Betty LOL I am so glad I got to meet those girls, what a hoot they are! Tell them that the tornado hit, missed him, he's fine but still has no tv or internet, it was confirmed by the National Weather Service that it was an EF5 with 200+ mph winds. I think they're helping with clean up but not too sure, they're starting to ask for volunteers to help and my dad is usually all into this, unless he can't mentally handle it, which may be true. I can't wait to get up there and help a little.

Hello to all : We made it back to the beach ...wedding is tomorrow.... This room doesn't have wifi ..... So typing on my phone... Miss you all ! I'm sitting around waiting for hubby. Crissy, so much devastation, would be difficult to see it..glad you will be going to help where possible. Your dad may be overwhelmed by all of it..sometimes just being out of the path of danger must hit you, why them and not you? Yes, the girls enjoyed your visit as well..said you were a bit worried about my kabitsing, but Crissy that's me, not a worry! lol

Betty my dad has a very weak stomach and can't walk into a hospital without puking. He saw a tree knocked over and he almost threw up so I'm not sure he can handle the clean up. LOL I know it's you Betty, I'm more worried about that bite than your kabitsing LOL!! I haven't heard that word in a long time!

Just got in,

My little elf Cathy cut all my grass, not sure how as it rained most of the day..note on the table letting me know I need gas if I want it cut next week lol.

Downstairs I see that Darlene and Mike were here and finished the steps and hand rail, now I must get busy painting but not today!

A call came in from another Mike, the construction guy so not sure if he's calling to say they are coming or not coming to spend the week.. a surprise it seems every time I come home.

Not sure what your big surprise is with Judy, can hardly wait for either one of you to share??

Well anway, it's from the Sisters of the Heart Quilting group. ( in another room) The Theme was for spring and this time we voted for each other...was a tough one, every one made beautiful pieces....To my wonderous surprise my block had the most votes!
Thats my big surprise, So once it's all pieced together, I get to choose somewhere to send it!! Tossing a few ideas around.

We were going to rent one, but by time we pay for the rental, could have bought one. So thats what we are doing. We arrive in Boston at 1:00 P.M. wedding at 5! We are staying at The Hyatt Regency/Cambridge. ..

Then about 8:30 this morning, Ryan came to pick up Sabrina for School...He was pacing the floor behind me...I said whats up. He said I am graduating today, will you come? Brought tears to my eyes, he was so cute. How could I not go? Well, then i also called Breenie out of a class so she can go to...A beautiful Celebration. And it actually ended up that 4 of "MY" kids were graduating!! The others were surprised to see me, gave me hug and introduced me to their families as Mom!!! So tonight we are having a small bbq in celebration with Ryan and him mom. We laughed and said how nice it is to meet on happier occassion...And get this, stalker tried to get into the graduation! shaking head.

Worked with Kyle for awhile on picture show (photo and music) but as soon as he leaves my side I'm lost lol. So he'll have to spend several more hours with his grandma, lordy he!s a great kid! Ok if I brag??

Then Cathy and Clara dropped in for tea, gave Cathy her bracelet and ring, knew she'd love them..even brought her home a cowboy..too funny, you put him in water and he grows about 100 times his size..

Then I got a call from Mike, construction worker, 3 of them are going to be spending the week with me, arriving late Sunday night. Yikes, one has allergies to cats and here I have 2...

So my quiet evening has now changed, washing all the bedding, tomorrow I,ll wipe everything down with vinegar/water..anybody know of anything else I can do to make it easier for the man who has allergies?? Fabreeze might help a bit..surely there is something..Mike said the man has allergy meds..until they arrive I'll vacuum all the furniture then cover with sheets, close the doors so kitties can't make themselves comfy on the beds..

Hope it's not too difficult for him!!

Yes, Judy Betty's right, and a lot of places, like in cities downtown around a bunch of tall buildings it won't work, and when it quits it just stops and reboots itself constantly, I want to throw mine out the window sometimes.

The only way I know of to get rid of cat allergies is to vacuum, everything, and I mean everything, every day at least twice a day to get rid of the cat dander, or get rid of the cats.

Morning everyone! Betty, glad to hear you will have 3 men in the house for a week! Your either going to enjoy it, or they will drive you crazy! I would not worry too much about the allergies, he knows you have cats, so he should be prepared with is meds. He is renting your place, so if his allergies were real bad, he has the choice to choose another place if they were going to bother him.

LK my pay should jump from 25k to about 35k, if Jeff will hire me again. I'm working on my resume right now but really need Dave to look at it and come up with different wording than I already have. Oh Yuk on the heat! And I'm complaining about 90*! LOL

LOL There's no way I'd let 3 complete strangers, being all men at that, stay in my house, men tear up things, make messes, they stink, yuk. And their cat allergies isn't your problem, that's what I told an ex boyfriend when I wanted to move him in with me, he was allergic to Tiga and I told him that's not my problem, if I ever had to choose between man or cat, I'll take the cat any day!

I'm going to continue working on my resume.

Girls were here at 7:15' we had coffee and then ventured out to the church plant sale..amazing, $1.00 for perennials..got to ask yourself how I ended up with $50...ahhh I know how, bought 47 and had $3.00 left on mt 50 soooo couldn't come home with change now could I??

Did go back in and purchase 1/2 doz. Butter tarts that Ant Muriel made..

Dug some perennials out of my gardens for Darlene and Linda, they left, planted all I purchased, then in a corner sitting there were 2 doz of wave petunias and a few other trailers so in containers they went..omg I need so many perennials and hanging baskets..maybe that will be my treat with B&B dollars..then I can sit and enjoy the yard.

Very damp outside, came in for cleaning supplies for BBQ..only used it a few times, do more damage not using..can't understand why no propane but perhaps I didn't close valve tight enough..oh well won't take but awhile to get that done..

Will leave last minute cleaning until tomorrow night.

LindaKay wanted to do midnight run but with all I have going thought I'd go tomorrow morning, less traffic!! Lol. Wow now that is hot, probably low 50,s here...nice to work outside ut think the Mosquitos are biting..don't need that!

Oh Betty, I need to clean my screen after reading what you posted! And here you have been posting your so happy with your life, no man needed!!! LOL! I sure hope you can sneak a picture of them?

Betty that's not the way it works sometimes, if you want the job you got to so some gumption and go get it.

For example, if you're hired to do a certain job and you want to stay doing that certain job then yes they promote you, I could be a promoted secretary the rest of my life, but I don't want my career to be secretarial, I want to work in IT so I have to go get the IT job and get promoted from that point.

It's like changing your career within one company, it's actually exciting because if Jeff doesn't hire me I'll go to work with another agency within the State, new people but I'll keep my years of service. I really think he'll hire from within rather than hire someone who doesn't know the job at all that he would have to train from the bottom up, I'm already doing the job which allows me to start at a higher level then what the job starts at, I'll be a junior instead of a beginner. I'm excited but Dave needs to help me with my resume and he hasn't done that today ARGH!!

Did purchase 2 spray containers and both say good is one is allergic to cats soooo let's hope it helps..

Should go in the secret garden, from there I can see how much the neighbor has accomplished on his back deck...now if only he'd burn all the branch debris without setting everything on fire..instead of burning bits here and there as I do, he cut tree limbs and other raking for 2 or 3 years and just piled it up, wonder why I'm buying and digging up trees? Tank goodness for the lilac trees..

Yes, my fingers are doing some better. Still a bit swollen, and stif, but not like they were. Betty, sure wish I could come and visit your garbs, they are so pretty. Sure can tell you put a lot of work into them! Wow, your hanging baskets are very pricey up your way. Most of them are about $15.00 here, and I thought that way pricey!
