She is on the road Susan - going to Judy's ---but I think she said June but i'm not sure....

I checked, and it would take over 3300 airmiles and I should have that by then. Would also cost $225 in taxes. I think that may be "do-able".......

well, That Was Fun...... didn't hurt myself, however I did get a "start". We're planning on replacing some boards on our deck, because they're obviously rotting. This was going to be before the end of next week. A friend of ours (whom Bob did some roofing for) has 11 of 18ft Spruce boards left over from the work he did for her. Our deck is spruce, and we need 12 of 8ft boards. She's letting us have her "leftover" boards. As my Bob and the "other Bob" don't have any work next week, they will be replacing the bad boards. Phew! I put a piece of Hardy Board we had "kicking around" over the hole - big enough for Bob's size 13's to fit in.
After the boards are replaced, we're borrowing someone's 2600 PSI power washer and will wash the paint off the rest of the deck, use deck cleaner so they all look new, and then seal/clear coat them.
I'll be so happy when that part of the deck is safe. We aren't replacing the whole thing because it's 16ft x 19ft and can't afford it. However, the rest of the boards seem to be fine - just need to be properly sealed, is all.

btw - the previous owner/builder just painted them, never sealed them. We've had such heavy rains this Spring that I'm not surprised they've taken on a lot and got rotted. We've been here 6 years as of tomorrow, and I think the deck was 4 years old when we bought our home.

Glad to hear your friend is giving you the boards. They are not cheap!

No, they're not! The store wouldn't take them back after they weren't needed. She asked us to do one small favour for her, in return. I went over and cut down the poplar suckers she had growing into a bush, and they were hiding the hydro meter. I did that in a "flash"! I'm glad there was something I could do for her. I had offered to pay for the boards, but she knows we're both out of work, so wouldn't take any $$ now, and then she said "instead, could you please chop down the poplar tree suckers?" Boy was I happy to oblige!!!

The barter system works when we let it!!! I do that a lot now. Can't afford too much so trade instead...

May need to go back to bartering sooner than we think.........

We have a large thunderstorm w/large hail and strong winds coming - I can see the white sky approaching from the North. It's kinda scary.....
We had some hail on Wed night but it was pretty light- the winds broke one of our tree branches and I cut it off yesterday.. Right now I hear some boomers overhead and it's not far from the lightening....

Hello all, again quick post..about 45 miles from Canadian border, great driving and easy way out of town, no tie ups in traffic..

Got to tell you, you could NOT have had a better day had you been able to order one, on the tired side but have to tell you, Judy and steve are beyond belief..steve's knowledge is beyond belief..I must have snapped hundreds of photo's either from. The boat tour, having lunch on 96th floor of Hancock building and walking the magnificent mile..I'll make discs for those of you who couldn't make it and send them to you..

Of course there will be a few favorite photo's

ME and 3 young men,add their ages together and they might add up to my age..all were good sports, had quite a laughter

THEN. Another from the washroom throne with door open..omg and double mg you should see the view from there!!

So Judy, again, cannot thank you for making us feel sooo at home and for giving us the royal tour..

See you next year on my side of the border..got to say though, can't compete with Chicago...been all over the USA and Chicago has to be what impresses me the most

It was Wonderful to See and ArmWrap Betty!!! And, Anne is so, so nice. We were thrilled she decided to take the trip.

Betty, I am so glad you got home Safely. We were worried you might have got caught up in the storms that passed through, Was a relief to see you Post.

I saw that Betty told you all about going to the John Hancock...LOL, Betty and her Boys, what a Hoot, and they of course just loved meeting the coolest (old Lady).
wish i would have followed them to the corner, just to hear what else they had to say!

Anyway, I've missed you all...Hope each and everyone of you are well, you've been in my thoughts and prayers.
As Betty and I Wrapped Arms around each other in the parking garage, shook each other tight and Arm Wraps from All to each other, Wish someone took a picture of that! We Beeped and waived as Betty and Anne entered one expressway and we went in the other...

We are off to the Cottage until Saturday sometime...I'll not post a picture of Betty and her Pot People, in case she wants to show you them.

I'll tell you we had a great time talking with all we could...Susan, pouting I don't have your #.
LOL and we circled together to say hi on those that had answering machines! Crissy, was glad you were able to call right back.
