OMG I am so sorry about Rainey!! I'm glad everyone is ok from the wreck, that just sucks. Yes, the worst of their vacation has to be over now, get it all done in one day!

Man o man...... this is the week for bad stuff. So sorry about their Rainey. I know "exactly" how they feel!!!!!

Some may see this on another thread, and I'm sorry if you do, but:
On a sad note, I lost my best gardening friend this morning .... Polly. She had been sick since Friday. Went to the animal emergency room Saturday and back to my vet this morning. It wasn't 2 hours after I dropped her off they called to tell me they had lost her. They resusitated her once, but couldn't get her back the 2nd time. Blood tests showed stuff all over the charts from too low to too high. Kidneys were all but shut down and her heart just gave out. She would of been 8 in October. Didn't know if she had gotten heat exhaustion or what. She stayed in the house and had a doggy door to go in and out, but if I was outside, she was there with me. Several times I had to lock her in to make her stay inside. I brought her home and my DH dug a nice grave for her in this rock hard dry ground that we have. Every time I look out my back window or go to the back yard I will see it and think of her. Polly-Wog, Polly-Wog Dog, Polly-Wolly Doodle, Little Fat Dog...... RIP my dear little fur baby. See the heart on her side? That is how big her heart was!!!!!!! The little grandkids could waller her all over and she just loved it She WILL be missed!

Was 112* at 4 this afternoon. The hottest is usually between 5 & 6. Sure hope it doesn't go any higher! Have the sprinkler running on my front shaded flower bed. The birds and hummers are LOVING IT!

One more of my little gardening buddy. Wherever I was, she was. Even in the house!

Crit - so sorry to hear of Polly's passing - I suspect you're right and it was heat exhaustion. She looks well enough in the pic, and she wasn't old at 7+....... I feel for you.

Thanks gals. I had to make her go in the house when I thought she was getting too hot. She was mighty healthy a week ago!

So, Liz and I hired Alissa to take us shopping. We did that yesterday, was fun until I walked into a wall mount fire hydrant...Yow, I was seeing stars. Hurt my hand, but it is ok today. Kenny went to work with Steve (today) too. So that was pretty cool. And then when they got back hooked up a temporary light. So at least we could drive around...
So today we went to home depot, Michaels and Dicks sporting goods and Dominicks!! Liz is making dinner, chicken & rice...
Tomorrow is My Baby's Birthday, he will be 16!! MY gosh, dunno if i should cry or what...lol..We also were being good and took care of our laundry.

Debbie, in one of the Nashville bars one of the entertainers made the biggest fuss over , danced with him as he serenaded me,even got a kiss, drats only had $20,s. Do that I. 30 bars?? Which I did not but it came to mind I have to bring along dollars or I'd be the one table dancing for gas money to get home. Lol

Beall street I was one of the entertainers on stage, lordy, how come I didn't get $$$$

Girls, photo does not do it justice..Debbie and I decide Togo buy a chocolate bar for Bev's hubby Scotty..trying to be nice guys, see route 66' just got to travel on it, ended up in a cornfield, miles and miles , cow paths, mazes to try and get out of, mile after mile backing up because you couldn't turn around nor could you see any signs of roadway, pathways had grass in the middle..I've never seen such tall corn..one pathway led us to an airport runway..I cannot remember laughing so hard...Debbie and I would simply look at each other and burst out in laughter...lol

We just have to travel together again Debbie..maybe a trip to New Orleans?? One day girl!

YUP I saw the post....was a funny thing...she called me for your address, and I was at work so I did not have it, and she was upset...wanted to get to post office and mail "today"....so I called home and had Dave call her with the address!!! made her day!! she got your address and got to talk to Dave!!

Betty, you know Route 66 goes through Oklahoma. Right through Tulsa. And we even have it PAVED!!!! No grass growing in the middle of the path! Although, you might see a few cows and some corn, the road is passable! lol

Night we were there we experienced quite a size earthquake!!!

Early morning here, trying to be a considerate traveller and stay in bed..ann is in a deep sleep, put in a long day driving yesterday!

Judy, we went north once we got to Detroit so I could show Ann Frankenmuth this morning..just got a brainwave, what if it doesn't open until 11am..here we are only 1/2 hr away from it..

Had one slight problem though..while stop and go traffic in Toronto I noticed my heat gauge rising....little more than 3/4 up..kept good temps all the way providing we were not stopped..

Going to check levels of antifreeze this morning and likely find a garage. My Aveo is like the energizer bunny, always on the run and never any problems ... Not to fret

My plan is to leave Frankenmuth (think it's suppose the be the worlds largest Christmas year round Christmas store/town in the world....been many times and know ann will enoy.

Off to check my where a bouts and route for the day..

Well, I am sitting here so wishing I was on my way to Judy's for the get together. Instead I am trying to finish some things so I can go back and visit my Mom for a while. I have only been going down about every 5 wks lately. It seem forever since we got together at BJ's and I am so missing things. Life calls!

Betty, now why was I not surprised to hear there was a Cracker Barrel just down the road? LOL That is just fine as I love having breakfast there...not sure if it is the food or the shopping. Enjoy the Christmas Shop...maybe someday that will be on my travel agenda.
