So now it's all about MOM, off to town to pick up Kentucky Fried Chicken and 24" x 24" patio stones...and the work begins..

If any of you watch 'Two and a Half Men' and listen to the banter between brothers about their mom...we'll I have the same two characters as sons..lordy they get a kick out of mom...

Jeff's Julie got dropped off at the airport, on her way to Florida, interested in purchasing a condo on the ocean..Braedon, he's playing babpipes in a Mothers' Day event and Caleb was with mom...

Noah, he got tired of the working bit and played with his bike doing wheelies...lol

Judy - great idea for using that tub! I used to have one just like that, and put pond liner in it, added some stones, and also some long slate pieces to look rustic, added a pump, some water, and voila - a water feature with tea lights under some of the stones (those that didn't get splashed on that is...) and it was really quite nice to sit beside.
That was in Winnipeg, so don't have pictures.

Soo could close my eyes and go to sleep but if I did would. Be up for the midnight shift! Just realize I got a lot of sun today..red as can be..

Crissy you did put in quite a day..how wonderful to meet new friends..for both you and Dave to sit for almost 2 hours you sure must have clicked..did you end up drinking my bottle of wine? Linda just called, with all the flooding in Tennessee, especially. Memphis, the are concerned to go that way, what are your thoughts? Surely within 2 weeks is should be ok?

Well, Betty - I got told I hit a descant note today - the only one in our choir that could attempt that high! I don't always get it, but getting it more often now-a-days. Woke up with a bit of a scratchy throat (no, not a cold, just "morning voice") and wasn't sure I could do it. Was ok on Thurs practice night and the keyboardist relies on me to get the highest notes. Used to be she didn't have anyone singing that high, but Nami's voice lessons were wonderful. She got sounds out of me I didn't know I had.
Guess nervousness and being unsure tightens the throat.. Anyway, I was told I hit it (high E - top line on the treble scale). I'm not so nervous anymore. Our keyboardist is making sure she has songs with high notes now (I know our pastor is putting in a word for "Fanny Crosby songs" now, too).

Happy Mothers Day to ALL ! Whether Mothers to children, pets, adoptee's, borroweds, etc. ((HUGS)) to you all...

Susan - that is fabulous ! I used to sing in High School and found a lot of joy in it... maybe need to do that again. I know how high a note that is! I remember drinking lemon juice before performances... have you ever heard of that?
Betty - So glad your Mothers Day was Fabulous ... very well deserved... very familiar with 2 1/2 men... Hubs loves the show... I do think when the family has enough memories for teasing to occur that's when it's a comfortable family... Can't believe how small that camper is... I think the earlier pics you sent didn't have a 'reference' point and it looked bigger without the boys standing near. No worries.. it still will 'fit' in our side yard LOL....
Judy Judy LOVE your infectious energy and laughter ! Yes - I tried to get the house clean for MIL... messed up in a day... these teens (UGH!)... Love the Tub for Tubby... LK sure hope you get to feeling better... you've had enough of issues !

well my sailor is in a van, on his way to the enlistment building in Jacksonville, Tomorrow Morning he gets on a plane to the great lakes...my stomach is in knots.....can just imagine what he is feeling??!!

He has been on a plane before, and liked it, so hopefully it will be a good flight...I am thankful that I have to go to work...I don't have to sit here and worry

Hi everyone,, sorry I have been MIA. The doc took me off my pain pills and let me tell you, I never understood just how bad the pain was without the pills to hide it all. I cannot even tell you how bad it has been. All I could do for the last week or so is sit on the couch and moan. He gave me a nitro jell/ointment to try to do something with my elbow, it gave me massive headaches, felt like my head was going to blow right off. I stopped using it yesterday and the last of the headaches finally faded away late last night. As for the pain pills, I am a wimp!! I started taking them again last night and will not stop untill I am assured that they have a non-painful solution. This was just not going to work for me. The supposed cure was worse than the oringinal problems!!!!,,,,sigh.

I was unable to get My Tubby planting done. I will be trying to do that next Monday and pretend I am not two weeks late. So at 11am est, everyone think of Shirley and Tubby as I say goodbye to Tubby again.

Oh,, forgot,, For Mothersday My kids got me a weeping cherry tree!! It is only 4 ft high right now, but it will be stunning in a couple of years!!

Betty the flood water is already receding, I-40 will be opening back up on Wednesday, and by the time you come it will be in Louisiana. Tell the gals to not worry, it will be gone. If it were a concern I would have brought it up a long time ago because I can't even get to Memphis right now because of all of the flooding. Oh! It's 90* here today and all week, just FYI.

Just got back from the hospital, was test day, opened car door, didn't even come I side, started my lawn mower and got all the back done...still looks junky with all my yard out but no flowers but I know another couple of weeks it will be spectacular.

Know not to overdo, will cut front and side yards one I rest..getting ahead of the game, have hamburger paddies made, veggie salad..figure after all the ribbing I took yesterday I'd better sit outside so will have supper enjoying sounds of pond/birdies

It,s wonderful to smell fresh cut grass..figure a few hours each night and by the time I get back from holidays it will simply be pulling an odd weed!

LindaKay, how did you make out at the doctors, did she give you a referral...what's up with the tummy?

Judy, meant to come back last evening and post but dozed off ad there went the evening! Guess you'll have a chauffeur now, more time for yourself as both girls have their drivers permit..yikes won't be many years before Jake has his. You sure have been busy.. Can't wait to see all the work you've done..did you have to pai t the entire chair?? There are two makes of that color, which is the ome I used so I can check out if I have it..you know when you bring a color swatch to Home Depot the computer will match it exactly

Mary, looks as though you had a fun filled day with in-laws and family..as for my little camper you must remember there aren't too many vehicles smaller than mine thus, can't be towing anything of size..it will do all I want it to do and yes likely fit in your yard just perfectly

Know ifi sit here much longer that will be the end of my projects..don't want that to happen..remembered the hooks for the stained glass pieces so would also like to get them hung IF I can find a body to hold them while I do the chain..sooo much to do!

We planted 8 tomato plants yesterday and all of them are dedicated to Tubby! We're going to have veggies running out our ears this summer!

MMMMM Crawfish boil, I've been to crab boils before but never a crawfish boil. They have them all over the place here too but I didn't even bring it up, worked too much anyway.

Kris I am so sorry you're in so much pain!! Isn't it true that the remedy of most things is worse than the thing itself?

Thanks for sharing the pics everyone!! I just ended up doing more work with Dave in the garden yesterday and all and boy are the back of my legs sore today! Yikes!!

Betty, I have diverticulitus, and it decided to flare up this week-end. I spent most of the week-end, taking vicadin, and sleeping. I went to the Er, and they sent me back home, told me to wait till monday to see my Dr. They told me not to take pain pills, as it will make me constipated, and make the tummy problems worse, but I took them anyway! I don't have the problem of not going, just the opposite. So I called my Dr this morning, and am waiting for them to return the call. This small town sucks when one needs a Dr. ASAP! Everyone here say's hurry up and wait!

LK it's not just your small town hun, it's Hurry up and wait everywhere! It's horrible what modern medicine has came to, as far as getting anything done fast is concerned.

Spent the am running around in Kingston trying to get all my city business and shopping taken care of in case DH gets a call for MRI or heaven forbid a specialist apptment. DH insisted he was up to coming with me - just glad he brought a book to read, he managed 2 stores but that was it.
Gorgeous day here and the week's forecast looks fantastic. Sure hope the WLs are correct.

Taking a break, didn't get back tp the lawn...Cathy dropped in and we actually sat outside, imagine that ! Decided while Cathy was here we'd hang the stained glass windows ..couldn't open the links to the chain..then Ann came for 15 minutes on her way from seeing Mike and the city where she had her MIL,s funeral...some are just too kind, she wanted to know how I made out as the hospital..should not be adding me to her worries.

she's so very tired, nearing exhaustion but in good spirits..Was going home in hopes of resting..oops be right back

Cathy had her dad open chain links so I can hang the stained glass, still one link too long so she's off to have them removed..she's such a sweetie helping me out so I invited her for din/din, now if I don't burn it we'll be ok

Back to Ann, she went to the viewing yesterday and made it back to spend the evening with Mike..said she may have gotten an hour sleep but no more..her mind wouldn't shut down..this morning she left for the city at 8:00' had the service, all prayed for Mike as well, girls broke down! Said she did Mike proud..they had just closed the casket when a friend of her MIL from the home arrived so Ann had them open it for her..then she noticed another lady sitting at the back of the room looking a bit miserable so Ann went and talked to her..she let Ann have it, said it was disgraceful how her last months (mil) had been left alone, how they didn't care for her etc, etc..Ann said she did Mike proud, let the comment go by and asked her to join the family in the front..after all Ann said to her, how wonderful it was for her to have taken care of the Mil when they couldn't...she kept it together, not sure I could have.. Don't sweat the small stuff right?

Cathy's back, I'll drop back when supper and chores are done!

Ug, that's what Ann needed, did this woman know that Mike is just as ill? That's exactly what my mom's half sister said to me when my grandfather passed away and we had to put my grandmother in a rest home, funny because she was never there to help, just to suit me and mom and take all of our belongings that were not willed to her but the judge gave everything to her anyway. I wouldn't have been able to dismiss it, there's no way.

Back for a few seconds..very tired tonight, Cathy just left..have our dinner dishes to go in dishwasher, then bath and am calling it a day..

Did get the window hung though..

Trying to encourage Missy to come outside but it's absolutely gorgeous and think she's found a place for the night!

I had a great day yesterday. I worked in the morning just till noon. Then home to great food prepared by my DH, Shared by my parents, children and grandchildren. Just a really nice day. I worked this morning again and then spent the afternoon out in the garden. Getting ready for the first Plant Swap that will be this Sat. I can start planting my annuals now our frost free date is May 15th and we are to have nice weather this week. I sent some of those plants in the driveway home with my parents, DD & DIL yesterday. I should have all my impatiens planted tomorrow. DH gave me a dozen beautiful Geraniums. I will be planting them in the deck boxes tomorrow and hopefully getting the cannas in the ground.

So glad Spring is coming for all and everyone will be playing in dirt very soon. Hub and I went to our first Model A Club meeting tonight. Wow - we were there from 6p - 9p and THEN folks wanted to chat. Not many folks with JOBS... they are all lucky. (Retired).... I have retirement envy. However between Teens calling and bedtime we couldn't stay a minute more... the next meeting is SO Far... not sure I'll make it and Hubs definitely can't... (work).

This job thing Totally gets in the way of my life ! LOL...

Morning all..looks like another gorgeous day out there..too bad I couldn't take another day off, but no can do..

Last night Kyle dropped in, said his dad wasn't the best, has the flu, sure hope he didn't pass it my way! Greg called to see how I made out yesterday at the doctors THEN he went on to say he got a call at 9:30 from Paul, as I didn't show up at work they were all in a either as to if something had happened to me, seems my appt. Was on my computer and no one elses..that wasn't good..bothered me all night long, got very little sleep because of it!

Mary glad you enjoyed your Model A meeting, guess they travel around the district..do they bring their vehicles for display, think they do here. Yes, work does get in the way..ask me. Lol

Holly, don't work too hard in the gardens today..can picture you know, all your flowers on your planting bench, doing container gardening..love geraniums..

Omg Dianne, listening to Breakfast Television ..gas went up 6 cents a liter over night..we must be well over $5.00 USA gallon..also rain in the forecast for all weekend..aren't I the bearer of good new.

Put all my Hibiscus plants that winter inside out on the lake side of the house until I am ready to move the pots to their spots. They look healthier already, which just goes to show you fresh air does make you feel better. All of the bulbs but 2 came up and are blooming in the Bulb garden we started in the fall - it is just a riot of colour and just so cheerful to look at.
Stormy is barking, I can see the otters strolling across 1 of the gardens, so I best get Storm in.

You are so lucky to have color..I've a few tulips wanting to say 'hi' ..with this sunshine I'm seeing such growth in the gardens, going to buy some miracle grow pellets this weekend, that ought to give them a boost..

Aren't you worried Dianne about still getting frost? Don't see many with hanging baskets out, the few I've spoken to that do say they bring them in at night..that's quite a chore.

Otters wouldn't hurt you furies would they..lovely to look at, didn't realize they'd do damage to flower gardens..
