No I did not wish to keep it, made it for him....I am very pleased with how it came out, my first ever quilt I did totally with out pattern / directions...just out of "my head" I have "made up" stuff before for the reverse side of quilts, using leftover blocks, and bits and pieces....butttttt this one was "all me" "visions for Mato Ska" White Bear...my Kyle...

Betty you may remember this oak tree to the side of the garage, then a bit of open space, then the citrus trees..

the photo is from the back side of the tree, looking towards the street....

Angel is too adorable..how long does the yucca flower last??

So many of my dg friends were with me today..as I took each piece coming out of winter storage, from feeders to rain chimes, to birdhouses and garden art received in swaps..then out came the red/white/blue for back deck...lots of ooohs and awwws

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's beautiful thunder and yes I do remember..can't imagine having a yard with so many citrons trees, just walking out and grabbing fruit..how wonderful

Sharon my sister is working on our family tree, think she is obsessed. Lol. Anyway I was telling her about being up so early to go find trees..told my she has 80 acres of cedar. And pines, should have visited her and bring a truck.. Now she tells me

Thunder, Beautiful quilt. So nice to see your family. What a cutie your Kyle is. Looks like a fun party.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello to ALL ! :o)

So great to see you Thunder and your family all having a great time. I love seeing your yard ...I miss Florida so much... could be my grandparents back yard. Grandpa was an orange tree farmer. Everyone looks so happy... was that a Mothers day celebration? I LOVE the green in the quilt... ((HUGS)) Debbie... love to see you post.... HA Betty - yes thought about that with the Plant Auction...

Wouldn't that be a neat idea rather than a swap... an auction. Everyone starts out with the SAME amount of $$ and all the $$ goes to a charity of everyone's choice?
So sad for Ann but she sure does handle everything well. Telling folks to let everyone grieve in their own way... no judgement.... etc.... Bev want to get a daylily pic for you but mine aren't near as pretty as yours... LK - did you decide to get the medical records? or do I need to send Crissy up there to get them for you LOL! :o)

Laura - love the auction idea.... let us know how you did ! Crissy - I felt like that today for once... DH was home and I HAD to work... almost liked the idea (almost) of coming home and seeing so much done...

((HUGS)) Susan... those bosses should know better... maybe it's a very competitive field. I suppose medical can be... Ours are here....

To think last Mothers Day (Fed up with steps and etc) was spent driving with DSthen18 to Disneyworld !

We are back this year to celebrating at our house. LOVE my MIL... and though she loves having everyone at her house... I like to have everyone here from time to time so she doesn't have all this work and clean up. Plus she can see everyone swim and having fun in the back yard.

So we are having a crawfish boil tomorrow... everyone is coming here but with 6 "teen's" between ours and BIL's and all with jobs.. some are coming and going around Job Schedules..... I hope I get some blooms tomorrow... and can post for you.... buds are THERE... just "about" to be a color explosion... just dont' know if God will bless us with that tomorrow as I hoped ....

I'll pop back in a bit.... ((((MANY MOTHERS DAY HUGS)))

Mary

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((Ann & Mike)))))))) so sorry to hear of Mike's mom passing, but you're right - it would be hard for a parent to see a child go first..... and Ann won't have the care of her MIL after her DH passes...
Betty - you're Ann's angel......

Thunder - love your quilt! And that guardian angel of yours looks like it's asleep (maybe because things are going right in your world, your angel can rest for a bit) lol What a wonderful old tree! but try as I might, I could not see the rocking chair....

Well, this morning I tried to "beg off" from the church basement sale - felt a little lazy and wanted to stay home, but was told by one of the elders "get your lazy butt over here" LOL she was laughing when she said it. So, I gathered some sale items up, and was there a bit lat, however I got there.
Didn't sell a THING.... others did, and I bought stuff from their table, plus had a lunch that the ladies made. It was good fellowship.
Then I went to another church lady's house and cleared her front garden (really a very tiny one), then it started to rain and I didn't have a proper leaves bag to throw stuff in PLUS my DH wanted to show me something at a store that would close at 6, so I hopped in the car and joined him. Turns out what he wanted to show me Wasn't what he thought it was, so back to my friends' to clear out the yard garbage.
Then home to eat. After supper, Bob went to his computer and I didn't hear anything from him for the longest time....... when he answered my call, he was having puter troubles. A fake virus program had piggy-backed itself onto his system and closed any windows he opened (internet, etc). I spent 2 1/2 hours on it, with mine too cuz I could go on the 'net on my system. I finally found all the strings and threads in the registry and deleted them. Now the program is gone, but it's a nasty one - called Windows Oversight Center. If you EVER get this, it starts on bootup, and "finds" some viruses on your system. It looks genuine cuz it shows the version of windows, etc (Windows 7 in his case). Then it says you have to pay to get the full version cuz you have the Trial Version. We never buy anything online. Heck, even for here, I think I'll send them a cheque. I'm very leary about buying things on the 'net, although I bank online.
Anyway, this Windows Oversight Center popup window comes up every few minutes/seconds and will not go away - and closes other programs, as I said. The best way to get rid of it is to find someone to delete the registry entries, which you can only find out about by using another computer.
The file name on his system was qyndhi.exe which I found in the registry and deleted (Shell).
you may want to write this down somewhere in case you have this happen. Cannot stress enough how difficult it is to work on your system when the window keeps closing down.......

In bed by 10 and up by 1:00,,,darts where is Crissy with the wine odor this midnight shift??

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'll be watchful of that susan..asked jeff one day what someone would get financially for developing these programs and he said absolutely nothing!! You buy all these protection plans and it still doesn't protect you..you are lucky to be so computer savvy Susan! What a day you've had!!
Going to try this sleep thing again!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

It's just that people hack/destroy others computers for Kicks...... and because they CAN.
They think they're so smart for being able to crack others computers.

I have had McAfee for years, and don't have problems with it. Hackers are getting more savvy about how to hack your system. I think it was one of those popups that got Bob - they really come up quickly and if you're in the midst of clicking the enter key for something you're doing, they "piggy back" onto that Enter stroke on your keyboard. Happens so fast usually you don't even know it's happened. Told him never to accept Trial Offers unless you have feedback from someone who's used it, or it's from a trusted company.

Daylight, restless night, finally gave in to getting up..by the looks of it the day will be filled with sunshine..hope it's the same for you

Looking around inside and not much to undertake, outside, well I can work the gardens and perhaps move a few plants over ..an early trip into town before the family get here as well, heck maybe even a times and donuts..lol

Whatever your plans for today, do enjoy!

Lexington Park, MD

some of the prices were ok. But some items just out of this world.
Thunder love the quilt and all those wonderful colors.
What a great way to spend some time in the evening but to hang out with family.
Going to get the labels off the plants .

Lexington Park, MD

I got 1 coral bell called purple petticoats.
5 orange mint plants.
And 3 lupine 'Gallery Mix'
And 2 very large gourds dried and ready to paint for $1.00 each.
I also bought some lettuce ,okra, and brussel sprout plants that we put in the garden already.

Laura, guess people bid because Fu ds go to a good cause!
Omg, I should have been there, love painting gourds, do you know what kind? Orange Mint, not sure I've heard of that..have the children fixed you breakfast? Loved it when the children did that..

Got the stained glass window panel out, managed to glue the loose pieces, waiting for them to set then I'll grout and if not ready to hang I'll at least get the hooks in and I will be able to hang it later...went out and worked 1 more garden..easy when you do one at a time here and there rather than try and get them done all at same time..

after rain Thursday and Friday I can't believe how the plants have grown..see my phlox are out about 6" almost tempted to divide a few but not sure I want to take the chance.

LindaKay, you feeling this morning? Leg still hurting?

Better get a move on, at least get dressed! Lol

Think rather than hoe'ing in my jammies I really should get dressed..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Good Morning Everyone!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all!

I'm gonna go fold some clothes and get dressed and get the last of the stuff ready to go to my Mom's. I got her some plants and a tomato plant for the planter box. The box Tubby built is 3'Dx4 1/2'L 2'W. It should be a nice size. I will get casters on the rest of them and fill them with flowers later. I look forward to spending some time with her. I'm glad the SIL is here to go along and help.

Betty please let Ann know that she is in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry to hear of her MIL passing. Mike will be greeted by her at heaven's door when it is his time to go to the Lord.

Bev I think of you often and my prayers and thoughts are with you and Scotty also.

Please everyone have a bright and sunny day today.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!

Shirley I'm glad your SIL is there to help! Have a great trip and a great time with your mom!!

Thunder that quilt is beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing pics of your family!!!

Betty I got the wine! I'm sorry it's late, I got sidetracked when I got home yesterday, Dave needed help building another raised bed frame and then I just went nuts with pulling weeds.

So yesterday we get up fairly early to go to Hot Springs for an Antique Gold and Silver Roadshow, like the antique roadshow they show on tv, or that's what the ad showed. We get there and there is one man sitting behind a desk in this little room appraising jewelry and gold and other small misc items, but he wasn't there, he had to leave to go find his cell phone and there were about 10 people in line, so we left. I'm still wondering where the show was, he didn't have anything displayed.

Then we decide to go out to breakfast at a breakfast restaurant in Downtown Hot Springs called The Colonial House, was delicious as usual but they raised their prices and cut back on the amount of food you get, so we probably won't be going there anymore. There's The Pancake Shop across the street that's always packed so next time we'll go there.

We got to talking to this guy and his mom who were in town from Dallas, he was checking on his 2 vacant lots he owns, and we talked to them for a good 2 hours, nice people, we're going to keep in touch and maybe go down to visit him since he collects Corvettes and I would LOVE to drive one! LOL

We came home, Dave decided he needed a nap and I decided that I needed beer, along with Betty's wine, so when he fell asleep I left. I know of a liquor store that's a lot easier to get to than the one we usually go to, so I went to it and OMG!! They have all the alcohol out so you can get to it without asking for it, and they had so many options of everything, they had tequila's I had never heard of before, vodka's I had never heard of before, it was just insane! After looking through everything I got Betty's wine and my beer and left.

Got home, Dave was up and working on his raised bed frame so I went out and he put me to work! We built that, then I went to weeding my flowerbeds, he went to tilling the dirt in his new bed, there is a lowland area between my house and David's house next door that he has told me to do whatever I want with, it's actually on his property, so I went out and weeded the whole thing, can't believe Diana put so many things in it as it's too full, and I found 5 Elephant Ears growing in his lawn! Dug those up and planted them in the bed, don't know what kind they are but we're going to have a slew of EE's this summer! His girlfriend told me when I met her that she loves EE's so here you go! LOL!!

We got done with what we were doing for the day, picked this huge broccoli head from one of our plants, I steamed that while Dave grilled steaks and taters and boy was it delicious! I felt so warm and fuzzy inside after that dinner I reclined in the couch and didn't get up until midnight when I put myself to bed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, you know how to fillt he day! Wow, you were busy! Glad you got the EE's! Well, I have been in and out with taking pain pills. I have diverticulitus, and it has decided to flare up this week-end.
So just popping in to say hello, and Hope you all have a GREAT Mothers Day!
Betty, hope your boys get your chores done for you? Any more midnight rides?

Good Morning...

Happy Mothers Day Everyone!!

Thunder, what a grand party! Loved strolling through your yard and meeting your family.
Your quilt is divine! I was just smiling away, while learning it is of your own vision. Your DS is sure to cherish it always.
Also, what a great, fun photo of you working on his quilt. Looks like it was quite the handful to put through the machine, lol it would never make it through mine...Awe, and just love your garden Angel.

Betty, How sorry I was to to hear of Mike's mom passing. Please, Let Ann and mike know they are still in my Thoughts and prayers.

Well, look out everyone, LOL, Breenie, has hit the Road! Did her first solo yesterday, and has ever since, going here and there, dropping or picking up this one and that one...LOL, now, just awoke and has to "go get" my mothers day present, not hidden here... I'm kind of hoping it's a current photo of the three of them, if not i will have her take one today.

OK, so back track to last Monday. I went and shopped for my Tubby memorial plant. was home and had it planted by 9:55. At ten, I had a few moments of quiet in his honor, thought of a few of the jokes he passed on to us. I said a little prayer for he and Shirley...
Then pretty much devoted the days work to him...Know how much he loved planting and building things, so I took apart my little table from Betty and repainted it! Wow, what a job, but I smiled and thought of What a beautiful Surprise it was and Delivered in person! Now i need to work on the chair...LOL, Betty, Steve was amazed at the perfect match in color it was...lol, giggled and told him you had given me a bottle of the Blue!! He said it's wonderful and looks brand new again...From now on it will go into the GH house during winter!!
...I was wondering if you have any more of the Blue Wisp color?? I looked at JoAnns, and they didn't have that blue!! Yikes, i hope what i have will be enough for the chair, but if you happen to have any more, would you mind sending me a couple of bottles, I will gladly pay the postage and paint.

LOL, while i did that, I also worked on laundry, and other yard work...mostly cleaned the area around Tubby's Tub! Then while paint was drying worked in the greenhouse, by the way...Steve built the table frame on Sunday and Tubby's plant was the first thing that was worked on, I transplanted it into a larger pot!! It will remain in the tub until I plant it in the ground, then the tub will stay in the memorial with other plants, probably annuals...Also, i transplanted some Daisies around the face of the tub...
Then the transplanting of another area began, Julia wants me to do something different with the area, so need to clear the section...

Tuesday, got my table re-assembled, went to place it on the deck, but decided to clean the deck first, so all day worked on cleaning out the drainage lines...Then went Prom dress shopping with Sabrina..was thouroughly exhausted...
Wednesday, continued with laundry and decided to continue working on fixing up and washing garden art...Disassemble my Tin Indian from Liz and Kenny, got it re-painted today will re-assemble and get it placed under the pine tree, also glued the head back onto the cat bird bath, fixed up a windmill, and began a second house for my mini village, lol I now have 1.5 houses!! Then, I decided it was time to work on this fantastic trash to treasure piece, I have been so, scraped as much of the old paint off and then sanded it to bare wood! As much as i hate to do it, it will be painted, though, i haven't decided on the color as of yet. But they are very old bannisters from a porch our second house we ever did. ..it was of the Vicorian style, so I'm thinking of Victorian colors, Also, it was my first hiring job to re-work the landscape...So i will plant a few of the Stars, around the base, and i finally decided where they will be placed, one on each side of the greenhouse!
Thursday, sent DH off to the house, he is returning today...Wow, all of the sudden we are having all the mom's here for a bbq...lol said why not, but I am not cooking!! So, I think we are having 6 other Moms today...So far it's a gorgeous day, sure hope the rains hold out till late tonight...Anyway Thursday evening, the winds finally lifted and the clouds passed by again, So I finally had my Fire...it was lovely, I thought about all the work i've done, and all of you, said a prayer, was exhausted again, so as soon as DH called I went to bed..it was only 9:00 PM. And i slept until 5, thought it was Saturday, so started making my mental list of things to do...lol realized it was Friday, then wasn't sure, had to look on the computer for the date!! LOL, when driving Jake to school, told him he almost had a long weekend, we laughed...Then had serious running around to do, But i treated myself to a water lily!!! It's going to be awesome, got my baby plant for the Raise my baby swap, which i am sure i am very late with!!Monday it goes on it's way...Also, sending off packages that were suppose to be mailed a while ago, Had to wait for some back pay!!Oh then i also treated myself to a Bellflower and a Butterfly bush!! They are perrenial, so i will plant them this morning...Also, on Thursday, I decided to shift things in the GH, to a better working area and also laid 5 bags of Mulch & I still nedd 6 more bags, hopefull to get thenm today...Thought about the pea gravel, but decided, I just can't bring myself to lay down stone, since i've been sifting it for years from the yard!!
Friday...got to work on the inside since i've been outside, nothing in got done, so finished the laundry, cleaned up the kitchen...isited with the kids. Yesterday, since it rained and was gloomy all day, I stayed horizontal , snuggly warm and did a TV-athon!!

I really hate to stay away from you all, but if i get on this computer, Then Nothing gets done...my list is getting smaller and i have to say, I got a Lot done, Also yesterday, Kids were busy, busy...Since all the moms are coming everyone chipped in and we cleaned the house, getting things put away and vaccumed, ROFLOL, I woke up this morning and you would never know the kitchen was clean!! So, will wake everyone up soon and they can clean it up again, sigh...

In memory of Tubby, a Tub of roses!
I've had this tub for what 3 years, was a trash to treasure find, Betty and Liz rescued!

Played with the bikes, Greg is making 3 more monster bikes for the kids, out being painted so Jeff /Greg and the boys rode for an hour off and on while Melanie and I chatted..
