Shirley we love you!
Betty are you still taking those blood pressure medicines? (shaking my finger here)
BEV! That is great news!!! So glad they found him and he's going to get help. Where was he, if you don't mind me asking.
Debbie look at your daughter!! I'm also afraid of heights, can't swim worth beans, and not too fond of sharks either. Good for her, don't think I'd have the guts to do it.
LK those fingers of yours are going to hear it from me if they don't calm down! teeheehee 106 already!!! YIKES!!!
Well we're supposed to get 5" of rain between last night and Tuesday morning, so this swath of rain plus all of the rain we got in April, I think amounts up to 10", will cancel our drought! We are floating away though!
LOL Mary, are you ok? So glad you joined that car club! I'd love to get about $30,000 extra in the bank, take my dad's 56 Chevy off of his hands, and restore it, but I don't have $30,000 extra in the bank, getting the car from my dad would be a huge battle, and I don't know of a classic Chevy club around here (but I bet there is one!) I shoulda married a surgeon! LOL
Susan so glad you got your hot tub fixed! You will enjoy it real soon! I wanna see the pics too!!!
Waving to everyone!!! Have a great day y'all!!! I'll be inside while it's raining outside today!
Thunder
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
He was in a tavern trying to drink his woes away and sleeping in his car which is very dangerous. I chewed him out good. BEV
Good Morning!
Wow, it's going to be very nice out today, so I am hoping to get the work table built in the green house.
Oh Bev, Thanked God this morning, Will keep Joe in my prayers to help him through, so glad to see he finding help.
Thunder, bummer you have a fire ban going on. I'll have a fire for you tonight. Wanted to have one last night but it was very, very windy yesterday...so nice you'll have a sweetgrass and sage burn...hmmm, I haven't had one in quite a while, I'll join you, ok.
Betty, so sorry to hear your headache is back! Hope you are still taking the medicine, hmmm, maybe you are over doing things a little bit. I know it's so hard to sit and relax when the mind is on overload with things to do, but you have to make time for yourself too.
Debbie, Awe so nice to see your DD overcame some fears! How cool to go paragliding, not sure i could be as brave, good for her!!
Awe, hwhat a proud Momma you are, big happy smiles for you!
Holly, Great photo of Jr. A framer for sure! So glad you and DH are having such a wonderful time. I am sure Jr will remember this time forever.
Barb, so neat you and Norm will be with the boys next week. Hope your kids have a great time in the Bahamas, what a great place for a retreat!!
LOL, well i had the turquoise Sundress on, but change at the last second, I was too cold with the gusts of wind and didn't have a proper wrap to go with it! Boy oh boy, I was sure glad I did, every single person was dressed very casual, including the Bride and Groom!!
And the farther North we went, the colder it got. But the Party was very nice and very different, more like a family gathering for a holiday and No music!! It was nice to meet their families. Jenny's parents were actually civil but the Mom, although present was virtually a statue. She never even hugged Jenny or Curt, it was just plain weird. Jenny introduced me to everyone as her other mom, just made my day!!
Her Grandmother and Brother, were very pleased to meet me and thanked me for caring for Jenny...And Curts little son, Braden is now walking!Oh my Gosh, he is just adorable, still no words yet...He sure loves Steve, every time he see's him he sticks to him like glue, too cute. He is such a Happy little guy...All in all it was a very nice celebration.
OH my Gosh, I so forgot to tell you!! I might have have a little guest for 2 whole weeks in June!!! If you are guessing My Grand Nephew Donavan, then you are right on, woohooo, lol when Shawn asked, I didn't even ask Steve, said yes before the question was even fully asked, hehehe, can you tell I am so excited...but the boohooo part is, Nephew and Wife are going to Arizona to look at houses, ackkk they are moving farther away. Martha has terrible back issues and the Wisconsin cold has gotten to be too much, so they are Hoping the Arizona weather will provide some ease for her.
OK, got to run for a bit, this bird is screeching at me again, lol were late having out toast and peanut butter!!
Oh and I am going to try and convince DH to install the new screen doors today, I really want to open the doors...
So I hope you all will enjoy this beautiful day!
Linda Kay, Iam so bummed your fingers are not cooperating. I sure hope the swelling goes down soon, like today...your hand must be blue from all the ice...
alright, i better get moving, seeya later.
son has not started work, waiting to hear when orientation will be...I had been hoping they would have called Saturday to say it was on Mon.....maybe they will just call Mon and say "can you come in today?"
no fire, but did burn some sage in honor of Tubby. Shirley, I sure hope you can feel our love....
been in the 90's here, and everyone is complaining...next grumble I hear..I am gonna tell them it's over 105 in Texas!!
89 here now, 85 in Baghdad, 81 at Ft Bragg, 69 at my Momma's, 54 in Ontario.....think I will stick to my home temps...although it sure would be nice to have a visit with my Momma, and then Betty ^_^
I am gonna try to do a bit of sewing, before I have to get ready for work, desperately wanting to finish Kyle's quilt, before he leaves....only 9 more days :(
Bev, not the way, no can drink your way out of problems..let's he now understands he needs help..glad you gave him the what for worrying you like he did! Does he live nearby?
Shirley, glad you got some rest, will take more than a night..you've been doing the work of 2 for so long and giving Tubby all the care even a hospital would have given him!
Even though you were preparing yourself for the inevitable it's never enough..it's a shock and then add the problems you've had with the family from (*&^!!! .. know we are here to listen..
OMG did I get a blast from Greg, will tell you all about it later..MY fault..lol
Got the area around the pond cleaned out for more 24" x 24" patio blocks, then I can get a proper patio set..have 4 cedars planted..
Then I decided to make a little area for Tubby, got a brain storm..remember last year I put a door with shelf of birdhouses in back area, swamp area (which has to be cleaned)..though this morning is I purchased 2 more emerald cedars I could place, make a pathway and plant a floral shrub in the middles..lots of ideas....
Not the prettiest right now, imagine leaves on the trees, no can see the garages in the back, pretty flowers planted and in bloom, lol. I can picture it!!
Mom was on the phone, said she was worried, tried calling me yesterday but my telephone was disconnected. (NOT) said she was going through severe depression, tired of having been in bed these past 4 months and knows if she works hard at her exercises she will be ok but then thinks of all her other ailments sooo not good!
Now for my being chewed up..
Was up at the crack of dawn, went into the bank, picked up timmies coffee and donuts, waited for Home Depot to open and purchased 3 more Emerald Cedars..staff managed to put them in my car..
Looked so much like rain, 8:30 am..tried unloading the cedars but sooo heavy, called Greg, he said he was just getting up but would come , told him holes were dug, just needed him to set them in ground..
In the meantime 3 of the big oak trees needed the shrubbery cast off branches cleared, did that, even burnt most of the branches, no Greg, cleared another arden, no Greg, in the meantime the telephone had rung but I didn't get to it on time, moved some debris to the burning pile..getting antsy, so I struggled getting trees out of car and planted..yikes, sweating like crazy! No sooner got them planted I called greg's, no answer so ledt a message that I got them planted..wasn't mean, just said got them planted no need to come..not minutes after in he comes, furious, said he tried to call to tell me he'd be an hour or so as some debris was in the pool and hot tub, soon as he got it cleared he'd be over..said he could not believe I've NO patience, thT if he doesn't come within minutes I'm silly, actually he said stupid enough to take on things I should not be doing, did I not know my limitations, did I not realize I'm asking for a stroke or to drop dead.. said it's so annoying to him wanting to do things for me and my
Not having enough sense to wait..asked me to show him my list of to do's for Mothers Day weekend and initialed each, said they all best be on the list next weekend, then texted Jeff lol about me ....yikes, guess I best behave..as he is walking out I'm saying but it is going to rain, said he's worked in the rain before now and not melted...
We had about 30 drops of rain and now the sunshines out
Thunder you say your momma is in Ontario?? I didn't know that your mom is from Ontario?? What area?? That interesting,
Barb, how exciting for the kids..2nd honeymoon..bet the grand kids will be thrilled having both you and Norm staying with them..
Church is over, normally Ann drops in..should call her
Already bathed, in my jammies and it's not 1:00 yet..am sure I'll go do some sewing after I nap..
Hope you are all enjoying a sunshine day
Betty....sorry babe, but I would have done the EXACT same thing as Greg. Might even take your shovels and digging aparatus away...and tools! Time for a time out miss....get yourself on your feet before you land flat on your fanny!!!!
Said with love....
Debbie
You ar just too funny Debbie! Omg no tools? What punishment..are you behaving Mrs. blue eyes?
When talking to mom this morning she asked how you were doing, told her you had not been well...said to say hi and said take care!
Cooked eggs for sandwiches, best I make them and have bite to eat
The wind sure has picked up..no rain though, must have passed us by.
Just checking in.....only have a minute. Want to send a cyber hug to Shirley for our Tubby. Hope you're doing okay.
Love and miss you guys.....
Does anyone know if Admin has been advised of Tubby's passing? I would like to see a thread for him on The Memory Garden Forum.
Dianne, think Judy contacted them a few days ago! How are doing today? Election day tomorrow, an outing for you and DH...talk about a drop in the weather.
Joyce, hugs for you, imagine you are home but for a bit then back to your parents..difficult for you..am sure you are a great help to them but feeling like a stranger in your home..hubby must be missing you!
don't think that hot tub will Ever heat up..... it's only 87! And it's been 18 hours! Put an email into the company.
now several hours later, we're back from church, and spoke to them at the hot tub company... just have to be patient - it's 101 now.
We're going to the Garden Centre in a bit, and will get the Red Hibiscus (hope they have some!!)
I'll be hot tubbing this afternoon!!1
Enjoyed church service and will share pics of the Scottish "kirking of the tartan" when I return.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!! Going to get to 14c today!
Susan, you have about as much patience as I?? Lol know where you'll be tonight. Your church does such amazing things
ROFLOL Betty, Guess you got told. Better behave Miss. LOL
Got home from work a bit ago, Son and DIL were here picking up dear JR. They had a great time at scout camp. They are very involved in Boy Scouts and are becoming leaders. So JR and puppy Copper are now gone. Bunny is still here until tomorrow. Didn't have enough space for Bunny's cage with all their camping gear still in the truck. Got a call from the other son he was on a canoe trip in WV for the weekend. Said they were off the water all safe and sound but would be home late. I will talk to him tomorrow. Ric picked me up a bottle of wine today and I am heading out to the Hot Tub with a glass very soon. You all are invited to join me. LOL
Glad I stayed awake or I'd miss the happy gang!! Always nice to have family all accounted for! Enjoy!
Betty - it wasn't at our church, but a sister church. When we had combined church service (4 churches) on Good Friday one of them mentioned they were having the "kirking of the tartans" and invited any of us who wanted to come. "Kirking" is Blessing the tartan.
We were all dressed up in our kilts (mine was Hamilton for my mom, and Bob of course was dressed up in his MacKenzie tartan).
When I bring home my card reader from work tomorrow, I will post pictures. Unfortunately I neglected to take new pics of Bob and no one offered to take picture of me, so I only have congrational, choir and other celtic pics......
Will enjoy seeing the photo's Susan, guess now you are heading out to the hot tub, grab the bottle of wine, Holly already has a glass of wine in hand, who knows she may have gotten tired waiting for us and drank the entire bottle?
Time for bed, prayers for all in need and Shirley, know you've been on my mind all day!!
Before calling it a night I went back into threads..

Wasn't sure the post wording was included with photo, regardless, worth reading twice...
Quite the character our Tubby was!!
Quite the character, indeed ^_^
Thank you, Betty, for posting this. I may, with Shirley's permission, do a banner on this for our church....
I haven't gone to the hot tub yet - wanted to buy/plant the red hibiscus I planted in memory of Tubby. I'll be praying and thinking of them both tomorrow at 10am. Dunno what time that is, in Mtn time...... anyone?!?!
Awe Betty - I remember that one... Thank you for Posting it !
Deb... Wow we were both at car shows ! Saw 'your' Truck on FB... wow gorgeous ! So proud of Carrie ! Dianne... I'm missing our morning walks ! Sure could have used one this morning ! *SUSAN* (hugs) Wow you won so much... should have bought a lottery tix on the way home... Would have loved to hear you karaoke... Okay Susan and Thunder and Judy... Please explain to me the tradition of a sweet grass ceremony....
Betty - Yes the Model A club supposedly will help you get your Model A Running... of course will have to have a lot of $ to put into parts but need to start somewhere... and hoping this is a start and helps hubs get back 'into' it... Waving to Joyce !
Shirley - What a neat pic of Tubby that is how I remember him...twinkle in the eye....
Barb... You are so sweet to help out... remind me of my MIL... how neat to have the grandkids for a while...
Crissy - Wow $30k ! A LOT ! I think even if I get my Model A In tiptop condition it woudl only re-sell for $8k or so... but I bet there is a chevy club in your area....there is one here.... Hubs would probably trade my Model a for a 56 chevy any day however he has no choice unfortunately and I'll never sell the "A" since it was Dad's also....it's just not as 'cool' as a hot rod I'm sure to DH....
Bev - Good for you! Wish I could have been a fly on the wall...give me some ideas for fussing at my DS... Geesh they can be frustrating ! Won't even go into last night...
Judy - How old is Donavan ? 2 weeks is great are you busy making lists of excursions around your area? zoo, aquarium etc?
Oh Betty - I smiled real big when reading about Greg... it makes me happy because I see how much they love you ! :o).... My DS can be caring like that... hope he turns out like your boys! (Last night NO indication however...... UGH! just teen woes)
Hugs Holly! Wow your Hot Tub and Susan's going ! Yay ! I was whining to DH 3 hours ago we haven't gotten in ours yet ?! he said we did back in March... I don't remember... If we don't soon it will get too hot at night...
So We've Hot Tubs running... some wine ! Time for some Relaxin' and How was YOUR Day ?
My big question today: "Miracle Gro... THEN water?" OR... "Water... THEN Miracle Gro"
Mothers Day coming next weekend... we may have a crawfish boil at our house... invite MIL of course... We looked into her gift today... MY Idea.. an "Above Ground" garden bed. So she doesnt have to worry about her bad ankle/knees and still plant some stuff..... We can buy one for $$$ or DH wants to make one...
Hugs,
Mary
Gee Mary all these mornings out walking I thought I was talking to you, wonder who it was I was yammering to?lol Stormy and I had an interesting encounter with a beaver swimming on our flooded lane yesterday morning. Are you sure you didn't hear that beaver slap its tail and me yellin at Storm "WE ARE OUTTA HERE!"?
Love the blessings of the kilts service idea Susan. I had 3 gorgeous kilts stored at my mam's that I am sure my DB sent to the dump when he moved mam into a nursing home without telling my sister and I.Mam even though she was a dyed in the wool Welsh born and bred loved the tartans and couldn't resist buying some delightful ones when they crossed her path.
Holly, hot tub and wine sounds loverly. On my way!I will bring some nice extra old Balderson and Wilton cheese - 2 of our area family run cheese factories offerings. I am a tad partial to Old and anything beyond in age. Every few years at Wilton we can buy 7 year old cheddar - haven't the last 2 so I am hoping 2011 is the year.
Thinking of you Shirley and will be there with you in spirit at 11am my time tomorrow.((((Shirley))))
Dianne
Wow, you all have been very busy!
Just popping in to say good night, and hope someone had a glass of wine for me?
Mary, what kind of miracle grow! I buy the kind I dissolve in water, and pour it on the plants. That is considered a watering for that time.
Awe Dianne ! ((HUGS)) Probably why I'm so stressed and since I have to work tomorrow I can't come along... however... as soon as Possible... I'll be back on the walks ! I suppose the Beavers don't like being intruded upon... can imagine they have some TEETH!
YES ! Bring all the cheese you want... I am a Cheese fanatic.. never heard of those.. just wrote the names down. I don't think I've found any cheese I didn't like.
I do buy Havarti pretty regularly... have you tried that one?
HUGS!
Mary
I know we are not suppsoed to write current news.....but ya'll should turn the news channels on. Important thing happening. Osama Bin Laden has been killed.
Love Havarti Mary. I could live on cheese. In fact I think of it as a food group all unto itself. Balderson and Wilton are the names of 2 local cheese factories and they specialize in cheddars from very mild to extra old.On Sundays only WIlton has fresh curd, first come first served and they always run out. Yum! I love curd, it has a salty tang to it and you see the old farmers come in and shake salt onto the curds like they were french fries. I couldn't understand why the salt shaker was on the counter - boy was I surprised.
Need to empty the mulch pails that are on the deck before I head off to read - the raccoons just love to get into the pails. I need to get back into the habit of emptying the smaller containers we keep on the deck into the huge container we keep quite a distance from the house.
Intersting news Debbie!
Dianne
Thank you LK !
So I'm in CST and our Canadian Friends are an hour ahead ? I'll go find NE.....
I will have a glass of wine for you LK! and some cheese as well :o) LOL
I put that 2 TBLSP of Blue Miracle Grow pwd in a gallon watering jug... it's not enough to water all my plants so I tried to "hit" all plants while moving the sprinkler around the yard... some got hit before watering and some got hit after..... Not sure how many plants per Gallon jug. I did this with about 5-7 Jugs and 2 hours of sprinklers moving the sprinkler around every 30 minutes.....
Thanks Deb !
Oh Dianne We Cross Posted ! I remember you mentioning curd before... I've never had teh opportunity to try it... but bet I'd love it....
I wonder if I can find those cheese manufacturer's cheese here locally ? How long have you lived there?
If anyone has Shirley's address.. can you dmail to me? I thought I had it... but can't find where I saved it...
Hugs,
Mary
Omg/Omg and another omg, just listened to your President speak on the death of Osama Bin laden in Pakistan today! may his demise mean many of your soldiers get to come home...
Gab in the morning..
This message was edited May 1, 2011 11:03 PM
Wow even Betty up late... This is huge news and very concerning... I hope all our soldiers will be okay.
Niece's fiance is in Afganistan and she was concerned about some of the groomsmen being able to make it to the 5/28 wedding. My FB is blowing up with so many different opinions. Ideally some would make it home early... unless this spawns off some other issues....
Hugs,
Mary
the admins know of Tubby's passing, that is why there are flowers at his name, when Shirley posts. They are "forget me nots".
Betty sorry for the confusion, Momma is in Massachusetts, I was looking at weather temps all around, and I always look at Baghdad, Ft Bragg, Mass..where Momma is...and Ontario area..to see what kind of day everyone is having...different days I look at other folks too... New Hampshire, New York, Texas etc etc..... this morn it was 69 at Momma's , and 54 in your area....decided I liked my temps....but would be nice to go north and visit Momma, then more north to visit you...I can dream.........and shame on you for moving those trees!!!!
Mary I sent you a d mail..
((HUGS)) ALL ! Thank you Thunder and Deb...
Waving goodmorning to all.
It would seem my computer is not fixed .
I seem to loss connection and can not get back on.
Coffee is on .........
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee Laura!
Great news on the TV! Sure hope the troops get to come home now?
Wow, our temp is only 49 this morning, and it feels so good! It even rained a bit, and the plants are so happy!
Good Morning...
Yes, Yes...great news, I sure hope and pray it means good things to come.
Yes Terry in admin knows about our Tubby...I just sent this link so they can add him to the DG Memory Garden...
http://fremonttribune.com/news/local/obituaries/article_f0bb7444-7273-11e0-9808-001cc4c03286.html
I've got a lot to do before 10:00 so I will be back in a bit.
(((((((Shirley))))))) You are in our hearts and prayer today.
Home just long enough to plant "Tubby's Tulips" and then it's off to the eye doctor.
I am with you in my heart Shirley. And Tubby is in my heart too......
