Beautiful rose Judy...

Calling for sunny and low 60's tomorrow so will edge as many of the gardens as I can, work a garden around the back shed I made last year..wanted to purchase a few shrubs but that will be pending how much repairs to my vehicle will be..between new camper top for my mini trailer, new glasses, new tires, work I had done yesterday, $$$ I set aside for my trip it plays havoc with my bank account..sure some of you can relate..lol

Sitting here thinking of Shirley and my heart just breaks..sure hope she's surrounded by loved ones..it's one thing knowing your hubby will pass on but it's another thing to have it happen even when you thank the Lord for ending their pain...


I'm sure she knows that this is her home and that when she feels up to it we'll be here waiting for her..

Please say a prayer for my oldest son Joe. He is on a missing persons list as of today. He has been gone for 2 days. Thank you. BEV

Finally back on line here. We got the storm and it took out my internet for over a day.
Shirley, my heart is with you - please let us know if we can help in any way. We are always here for you. We will miss Tubby and are and will be extremely grateful that he brought you into our lives. I know I miss his jokes and his sunny personality. He will not be forgotten.

Well, the Dr. called and said they can't give info out over the phone!!! I have to wait till the 3rd to go and get results!!!!!

LindaKay, as if they will make you wait until the 3rd??? Know there is freedom of information act but when it's your own doctor's office and they know you well why not!

Another way to get an office visit out of you!!! And to charge more money. Unreal. I'm afraid I'd be charging the doc for gas money to get to the office and then charge him for the priviledge of being your doctor!!! See how they like it???? Can you tell Drs are a sore subject with me??

Lovely DG member Thea sent a poem to me which so describes how we are feeling right now, went to send it to Shirley but it says 'Tubbytee' e-mail no longer in use... hmmmm

Will telephone her tonight, will wait a bit and if she's willing will get her a membership in Tubby's name..

Wonder once Admn. knows someone is deceased if they cancel their membership, surely not????

I don't think so, most companies must see a death certificate before they can do anything with an account without the account holder's authorization.

I just asked DG what their policy is regarding this.

I would so hate to see that she can't access this thread, unless of course she asked for it to be closed incase the outlaws were creating a rucous and she was leary them getting on and reading all her posts..

Here I is, here I is......... hydro finally. Power went out Wed night and came on just a few minutes ago. But as I sit here I hear and see T and L to the west. We weren't supposed to get power back until tomorrow night so I guess my zipping into the village for ice to put in the freezers musta hurried them up.
Going to shut down as I can see the storm moving in.

Glad you got power Dianne..hard to fill in a day or a few days without hydro! everything these days seems to require it. Are you feeling any better? Vehicle needs parts which have been ordered so guess I'll have to leave it one more day for repairs next week.

Thought I'd get my hoe out when I got home but much too cold, guess I'll have to relax until tomorrow morning

Had my bath about 7:30' was on the telephone with Darlene when I saw a woman at my door, figured because it's election day Monday she might be a candidate looking for votes, but not..she was looking for a room at my B&B..wasn't thinking of having guests this early but as I normally keep the house tidy I invited her in..had to get dressed and go get fresh fruit,orange juice, muffins and cereal for the morning...she in her early thirties, here from Germany traveling north to Algonquin park, then on to Ottawa then to Montreal..she will fly home on Tuesday completing 1 month here in Canada..really nice lady..

Sooo not in bed yet, gabbing away...

Talked to mom, they were going to the cottage but she got 1/2 way and thought it was just too much for her so they returned home!

She is only spending the night Mary so you don't check them out lol my boys have problems with me doing it but I just can't see people coming to your door, wanting a room for the night and doing you harm..I've a good sense for some of the nicest people so no harm there..

As I just got her settled in I realized it's a bit late to call Shirley, will have to do so tomorrow..

What do you have planned for this weekend Mary, play in the gardens?

It's supposed to be pretty tomorrow... but Hubs has to work... I (had) found out one of my clients (a couple but particularly the wife) are BIG into the local Model A Club... and they have a show tomorrow...

So Since I have one and have been wanting to fix it up... I plan to meet her at the show around 10a. Her Model A is "Lulubelle"... I'll get a pic for you all..... I plan to re-join the club... they may have some members who will help me get mine up and running over the next year...

(Since Crissy and LK won't come help me !) LOL.....

After that it would be great to get my dress for niece's wedding to alterations, and find shoes. I hate errands but I also prefer to get hands dirty when Hubby is around and we can do that Sunday....

What are your plans? Do you provide Breakfast ? I suppose so... as it is "B .... and B"...

Sounds like a fun day..remember you mentioning your interest in restoring your vehicle..quite an endeavor. No cooking for me, you know my luck with cooking, but there is lots of cut fruit,toast,cereal and muffins..I don't do B&B often, just when a straggler comes to my door..

There was a huge amount of damage from the wind storm but fortunately nothing devastating on the lane. Only 1 cottage had a small birch tree come down on the roof but I called to let the owners know anyway so there would be no surprises when they arrive for the summer.
Raccoons on the deck again - going to take care of that right now! Debbie shut your eyes when you get to this, OK?

Dianne been lucky so fad, no sight of raccoons, what a nuisance they can be. I'm sure seasonal residents appreciate the call...guess the normally come up on May long weekend?

Dear Dear Friends -

I can't sleep as would be normal. My heart feels like it will break. I can never begin to tell you all what a comfort it has been to have you all with us on this journey. It has helped tremendously and I hold you all dear to my heart as Tubby always did. I can see him sitting here typing on DG with a smile on his face and those wheels just turning thinking of what he all had to say. The joy and sunshine you have brought into his life will never be forgotten. I know he is busy telling all those in heaven about this wonderful group of friends he found on DG.

I know I will survive and life does move forward when we aren't sure we want to go on alone. Well I can't begin to tell you what all happened the morning of Tubby's passing, but the cruelty has not stopped completely. I can say this, if my Sis from MO. had not come that day, I would be here alone as none of his family have been back out. I don't see that they ever will again. Someday I may be able to write about it, but I know right now that part of the journey is not quite over. I know that some of his family has come a long distance and is here in town, but have not been out to see me to even acknowledge me as they were all in at the siblings in town and those siblings were busy conversing with the two girls. All I can say is when this part is over they can decide if they want to keep me in the family and treat me with respect or walk away. For you see, I know and the good Lord knows what has transpired and that is all that matters. They have to live with themselves, but I know that Tubby is ashamed and hurt by this treatment. If the girls decide to move on without me in their lives will be the choice they have to make and live with, not me.

I want to take this moment to thank everyone for your prayers and thoughtfulness. I hold you all dear to my heart. Yes, eventually I will write adm. and see about changing the account. I really don't care if any of his family find access to this acct. and read what I wrote as it is only the truth. I don't ever plan on leaving DG, as the family I've found here is what Tubby had found. Tubby's memorial will be held Monday at 10. The DD from Wis. and her family arrived last night late and my DM had the oldest sis of mine bring her down yesterday. They will be back for the service on Mon. It was so good to hold her in my arms.

The medical supply co. came yesterday and picked up the equipment we had, so today I will keep busy cleaning the house and rearranging. I do have to go to town and order the basket of flowers for the service. Tubby never believed in spending alot of money of flowers that would die anyways. He would of wanted a plant to place in the ground he could enjoy from year to year and remember that person .

Bev I want you to know that my prayers are with you.

Betty thank you for the beautiful poem. I will read it out loud to Tubby. I know he will shed a tear also.

Oh Shirley thank you so much for sharing all of this with us.I am so glad that some of your family have been able to come and give you some support. After all is said and done Shirley and our dear Tubby's memorial is over it will you who will be able to look yourself in the mirror with head held high, not his family.
I for one will be out in my garden at 10:00 am your time Monday sharing the service with you and giving you the love and respect you so deserve.I'll get a plant for Tubby to go into my Memory Garden this weekend and if the weather cooperates will plant it at 10:00 am Mon.

Shirley I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could give you a hug.

Shirley, my heart skipped a beat when I saw you had posted..hard to type here when tears are flowing, bit of a blurr...

You can stand proud through yet the last of Tubby's journey..you were by his side making sure every one of his needs were met difficult as many of them were..if we've done our best what else can God ask of us..

If I remember correctly tubby was disappointed in many of them prior to his last days..I would like to say that over time will will see the err in their ways, one can be hopeful but from my personal experience, 20 years has passed and many hard feelings still exist, a few ot a single word has since been spoken we but we move on knowing that the last few things of major importance our bubbles wanted to make the tar sit ion from earth to the greatest of all gardens was carried out without a thought of our well being..

At 10am Monday morning as Dianne and many more will do, we'll be with you in spirit..today I will go into town and purchase a tree or a shrub and plant in Tubby's name so that when I walk my gardens I can say 'hi' while smiling, telling him a joke !!

Keeping busy today will help tremendously and having your family giving you all the love you need right now will be wonderful...

Know we are with you today and for days to come...your home is with us in this little room of such caring and lovely people and I cannot say what it has meant and means to all that in your time of extreme grid you!ve found time to come and sit a spell!!

Dearest Shirley - I'm so glad to hear that YOUR family is there for you. And I'm thrilled that you will be staying here with us. We have so comed to love you as we did Tubby. You are a part of this family now and we don't let go.
I think Dianne has a wonderful idea of how we can be with you on Monday. For those of us who are able to be at home and can plant I"m sure will be doing the same thing. For those who must be at work or some other committment, I'm sure any time they can take to remember Tubby will mean just as much and I'm sure he knows how we all feel. If I remember right, you are in Central time which would make your 10am be my 11am. I will be with you my newest friend.....

Betty, How was your B&B guest? Was she there just for the one night? I'm not sure how I would be with a total stranger like that. I can be a scaredy cat sometimes......

Barb you know me, I would open my doors to almost anyone and welcome them with open arms..that's what the boys are afraid of..lol. They tell me t get license plate number and email it to them so at least if something goes wrong they have a starting point when looking for the individual..too funny!
