The Sun is shining Bright!!

Happy Easter Everyone.

Steve is in the kitchen preparing the Polish sausage. We will be heading to Joyce's in Rockford.
Joyce our cousin, Betty, also the mother of the Groom...

This is the first year we have not colored Easter eggs and we are not having an Easter hunt...Boohoo.
Usually we fill the little plastic eggs or hide monies all over the house, then play hot and cold.

LOL, Debbie about the pizza! We always dr up pizza's too...Yikes Julia made a pizza not long ago and while pulling it from the oven dropped it on her hand! Got a nice burn on the top of her hand in the shape of a slice of pizza! It's healed now, but oh man, she is much more careful now.

Shirley, Stand firm...I am sure the IL's are more then able to fend for themselves. It was very cool of you to make Deviled eggs for them.
You and Tubby just enjoy each other and hopefully they will enjoy the time today instead of making it difficult.

Holly, I hope your day is one of Peace, so you can rest and get well.

Kris, that Fence is really neat, yep can see a million idea's brewing. How neat that you have found pallets, saving a ton of money....ROFLOL, paint the side facing the pain in the butte neighbor a hidious color...Gosh, i feel for you on that, we have two Crazy neighbors, one across the street, We call the General, the guy is absolutley a nut case!! And then the guy next to us, always right about everything, so talking to him is kind of difficult, and he and Steve neer see eye to eye on things, They have beautiful gardens tho....
Yesterday, I was cleaning my GH, I think he is super jealous over it. So I saw him sitting on his swing watching, went in house for the bucket of water and he shift to another chair, not facing us, lol...then when I went to get the hose, he got up and left...too funny, I told DH, i bet he has a GH by the end of the Season, even if he makes one himself. LOL, we call it keeping up with us syndrome We put up our gazeebo and a week later, he put up a gazeebo, just laugh and shake our heads...

Well yep, Took a mop to GH, I read one should clean it at least twice a year. er yiye, don't think it's ever been cleaned! pulled the nice healthy dandelions and other weeds, laid the cloth and 4x4's to section off. Now need to cut and lay the floor down the center and fill the rest with pea gravel...I placed two shelves on one side. Place my tools the in the front corners...I am hoping to get the table top built this week..and assembled the mini greenhouse from Liz, it is a really nice size! I am almost ready to plant some seeds! Well, then transplanted a few in other area's of the garden...

Oh shoot, Steves looking for me!

If i don't get back, Have a Joyous Easter day.

Love you all.

Crissy, I'm so glad you are enjoying the atv's..wasn't so long ago you weren't sure about having 1 and now look at you enjoying each your own and having a ball..know you are cautious so won't worry!

Thunder how are you feeling? Out of your slump yet..
Perhaps you should take a day trip and head out to the ocean..sure wish it would be possible for me to do so..

I've been a good girl Thunder, just tidied my working place and got some pretty blocks from weekend endeavours..think what's making me the happiest is FINALLY I'm feeling almost myself!

Went out to do some burning and thought, drats no can do until I come home tonight..don't want to have to shower and do my hair because I smell like a B.B.Q. Betty so am taking some measurements and trying to figure out what I could do with my 4' stained glass heron

Judy can picture you now, bag full of seed enjoying all the work you 've all put into the back yard.. smilling that you've got your tools out and before long will have a work area...laughing the neighbor, perhaps he's just bored and is admiring your efforts...

Ouch on the burn...won't tell you about my pea soup lunch..lol
didn't want to eat anyway....

Beautiful arrangements, simplistic but stunning..

Absolutely beautiful out there..although I pro used myself not to burn couldn't resist and am thankful I did..behind my property line is a municipal right of way, quite swampy, man who lived there before couldn't care less..this couple maybe in their late 40's bought the 100 year old home and are redoing it but bought the place primarily for the business, body shop ...very nice couple, out back cleaning their area which is in need, bought 8 cedRs like the o es I bought yesterday to put along the edge..no not putting a barrier so they don't see my place but because they thought thed give me more privacy from their work area...really, really nice couple..few barrels that were behind my shed facing them, no way I can get them taken away, left here from previous owners..told me because he has a big green bin at his workshop he'd get rid of them for me..sooo I'm as happy as can be..did tell them though,as soon as there Re leaves on the tree I'll not see their worshop..

Well, now that I've said hi to all the neighbors out working, cleaned up the mess from back porch, set up the sitting area n the front deck I just have to wash up and go have Easter dinner..gab later!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well I'm confused.... my garage has smelled like gas all morning and even after we open the door to air it out and close it for a bit it smells like gas again, so we went out and discovered that my 4-wheeler was leaking fuel! So we pulled it out and took it all apart, man my neighbor who I bought it from had it serviced last week and we can't tell where a bolt had been even turned on the thing in a long long time, the panels haven't been taken off, the battery hadn't been checked, the fuel filter hadn't been taken out and replaced, I'm wondering how much my neighbor spent for this non-service. There's a puddle of fuel on a plate right below the carburetor but nothing above the puddle is wet, the plate wouldn't get wet by itself. We didn't find it but there is a shut off dial on the outside of the thing next to the shifter so I'm thinking that the fuel needs to be shut off when it's not being ran???????? I know nothing about 4-wheelers. We put it all back together after servicing it and I rode it up the road and back down, the thing runs like a top! Pulled it back into the garage and shut the fuel off, so far no leak.

I'm thinking the floats in the carburetor are getting a tad too much fuel and causing it to leak hours after the engine is shut off, it didn't leak the night we brought it home, just after that long run yesterday. Hope nothing cracked from being ran through the water over and over again.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Betty sounds like the new neighbors are very considerate and nice. Just love the bird, sure is beautiful. Did you paint the desk and box in the background?
Oh my Elf, I just loved those arrangements, I must share that site with friends who have a passion for semps and sedums. They will just go over the moon looking at those arrangements.
Son stopped by and brought Ric and I a care package from Easter dinner. I had a bite of the baked beans, baked corn and potato salad. Really just not hungry enough to want more. Ric went up and dropped off our things but didn't stay to eat he says he is tired and not too sure he is feeling well. Hope he isn't getting sick, too.

My DD came by and bought mer an easter bucket!! It had a book I have been wanting to read, some chocolate andSnickers Ice Cream bars!! So now my day is complete. Of course after the big brunch Ralph cooked today plus the icecream and candy,, now I will only have an apple for dinner. I am still gainig weight, so I need to try to cut back on how much food I eat again!!

When I first drove over to Greg/Mels there was a note on the door to say they were out biking so I took a walk down to Georgian Bay road allowance at the end of my road and took in the view

Soon it will be time to put the Foxy Lady in the water..oh happy days..

Holly sounds as though you are both coming down with a dilly of a cold..yuk..sure glad you got Easter dinner though!

Will have to go check the photo to see about what painting you refer to..my house if filled with painting, either on the wall or furniture which I've done..had to give up because even the kids didn't want more of my art..lol

While at Greg's I had to laugh, was out talking to Kyle as he put air in his bike tires, I was looking around and it so reminded me of Roger..his garage and workshop was cleaner than the house..everything had a place of it's own..see that Greg is the same..lol

Kris sounds as though you got spoilt as well..never mind the diet, just enjoy! I'm hungry for ice cream..if it weren't for the fact that I'm ready for bed I'd go buy a brick..

Hello To All !

Betty - I wish hubs had 'inherited' that clean garage DNA..... I finally am getting somewhere with the area of the back yard that I call "Sanford and Son".... LOL... MIL complains the same thing with FIL... Why do we need 2 sinks, 2 'old' bbq pits, pots, wheelbarrows etc. back there? Hubs threw one of the sinks away today... "Are you proud of me?" he asks ! Geesh!

Holly - Beautiful idea with the leland cypress... LK thank you for posting the obit... very powerful... Shirley ((HUGS)) The 7 layer Greek dip has hummus, fresh spinach, feta cheese red onion, cucumber, Roasted red bell peppers, kalamata olives... we use Pita Chips to dip... Hoping your situation somehow improved today... you sure started the day with a wonderful outlook ! Happy Easter to EVERYONE ! ((HUGS))

Betty - yes - I know I am blessed with a good MIL...our May: 16th DSD graduates, 19th Nephew in Florida Graduates, 28th Niece wedding... will be slam packed ! No special trip with DS this year... I have another good friend who loves Joyce Meyer... will have to look her up... Furries miss you! One of those was the visitor who caused Riley to go missing, correct ? a long while back... Is Holly talking about the stained glass bird ? it's beautiful....
Elf - Oh what a shame that pond was gorgeous ... I know your new one is gorgeous as well... I did not realize you needed EE's.... have some hardier EE's that I'll try to put aside for you.... They get huge....were those queen palms near your pond? Our Lotus and all pond plants are doing GREAT !
Crissy - funny I somehow KNEW you drove a stick... so glad you found the cause of the gas leak... at least sounds like you did....

Easter was very nice. Funny... hubby was missing for quite a while... which is unfortunate ..... because it was the SAME exact time that the Easter Bunny decided to arrive ! He was a strange bunny however... I'll post a pic with FIL, MIL and Niece's son... I do believe I was a bit afraid of the bunny.... probably because hubby was not around .... funny thing though... right after Easter Bunny left... hubby came back.... Hm....

Hugs,
Mary

Oh Dianne ! We Cross Posted ! I forgot to mention... if you can see ... NOTE the beautiful earrings and necklace that I am sporting... got a nice compliment from MIL... on them...

Elf - I may post this twice... but I think I got this Cypress from you... Hubs asked what type of cypress... is it deciduous? We need to decide where to plant it....
Bald cypress, cedar cypress... do you know what kind?

((HUGS)) to all...

Mary I love your Easter Bunny!! Could understand why the little guy was a tad nervous though. My hulking big DH dressed up once years ago as Roger Rabbit for a friend who was opening a new business in the village. Well that lasted for about 1 hour but lol DH never had so many little gals hugging his leg and saying we love you Roger Rabbit. DH asked who the h*** was Roger Rabbit.
Stormy and I had a stressful weekend here...... we walk every day usually through the fields but since my headaches/double,blurred vision are acting up again we are using our private lane. We have several acres, live over a mile in off of a township road on a private lane. When we bought the farm there were some exisiting cottages. Noone sees another building and fortunately 2 of our friends have bought 3 of the cottages. However there are I think 3 that are in habited by what we call 'city folk' and by that I am not demeaning those of you who live in town ( heaven knows we did for years). What we mean is they come to "the country" and that means they can let their dogs run loose. On Fri Charlie charged and attacked Stormy and I - Stormy was on a leash. Stormy will just stand and protect me, however did end up with a bite immediately under his eye. This morning even though I was watching and being careful Charlie came through the bushes off of our acerage and attacked Storm again.Stormy was on a leash!!! While trying to get Charlie off, Charlie grazed my hand. I bleed at the best of times but this was a fountain. Somehow (I know I lost it and I am not proud of it) I grabbed Charlie and tossed him about 5 ft all the while yelling "Get your &^%$# dog back on your little cottage lot and leash him". They stood there and watched. On Tues I will call the Dept of Health to report my bite.Hate to do it but this has to be stopped.
Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. I have lots and lots of leftovers Dh is not eating which really has me concerned. Didn't even want to sample what the Easter Bunny brought him - I did though!lol

oooh Dianne - better get that bite looked after right away! Darn people who let their dog run wild on other people's property! Why Tues? Is it Easter Monday closed?
Had a busy Easter w/e! Good Friday service, Easter Sunrise service, the regular Easter service! Our 1st Easter Sunrise service, and looks like we'll have more ^_^ Three churches took part in the park near here - about 15 min drive. Only 1/2 hour service though - was cold!!

Baton Rouge, LA

Wow Dianne ! Your City Folks are Not like me in the least... I can't let Belle go anywhere with out a leash... We are still not sure if she'd run off.....
That's horrible... that they would let their dog injure you and your Pup! Horrible !

I hope you can get some folks involved and get this problem fixed ! I would never never rent a home or stay at someones home and let my dog roam free!

(((HUGS))) Susan sounds like a very happy Easter ! Welcome Night Shift! So glad to see folks around ! I'll be on for a short while yet !

Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, omg no wonder you lost it and rightly so! If you hadn't had a and she referred to me headache before this I'm sure you'd have left with one..yikes, best get to a doctors, never know what could come of it!

Was gabbing with someone on dg before and she mentioned me living on Lake Huron, said I said no but really it should have been yes because really we are a bay off Lake Huron so yes, we swim in same lake..were you like i when young, regardless if ice was floating on the water you had to go swimming May long weekend? Was often told not to but seemed I always just fell in! Lol

Did you come up with any ideas for my stained glass blue heron??

Worried about you dh as well!!

Mary, when you first mentioned dh was missing most of the day I quickly thought oh no, had to work the so thrilled when I saw the photo which by the way I love..brought memories back when looking at Christmas photos how Roger went missing when Santa came to give the gifts. they are memories that are never forgotten

Susan, you've had quite a day..bet you had your Sunday best on and looked pretty as can be in the Easter parade.

Well I fell asleep on the commercial just before Joel olsteen ,missed the sermon and now I'm awake and no can sleep

Shirley hoe did tubby do today..do you think he feels the tension

Dianne, you best get that bite checked out, and I would certainly report them.!!

Betty the glass bird is BEAUTIFUL ^_^ could it be some how hung in a window?? let the light shine through I can just see it....sigh so lovely.....

I slept 7 hours last night.!! have not done that in ages, felt good. lately if I get more than three hours it's a good thing.... Got kinda depressed this mornin' tho talking to my soldier....I hate that he is away !!! He loves his job, so I should not complain...it just gets to me sometimes....DIL's been sick, I talk to the baby on the computer, and she asks me to pick her up, and then she cries....just breaks my heart.....and only 15 days left till my Kyle leaves, I know he is doing a very good thing, and staring on a great career path....but I am going to miss him terribly...

My youngest s best friend goes into the Army tomorrow, so he is feeling very sad....Have not heard about the job, hoping will soon maybe tomorrow.....I was told of the opening by a co-worker, who also works part time at the place son went for interview. He (co worker) told me that the boss told him they (two bosses) both liked my son, and that they were impressed that he said he would work any time, holidays , weekends etc..... soooooo I am really hoping......He needs something, soon....

I have complained enough, thanks for "listening" gonna try to go to bed now.

Just had a long post go poof! So ~~~~~~~~ at ya all! Shirley I hope you and Tubby got to spend some quiet time together today.
Dianne

Dianne, see by the time of your post that you didn't get much sleep last night either..probably the incident has your adrenaline going.. Shadow must have been terrified.

Thunder, a few more nights of good sleep and getting out in that Florida sunshine should help get rid of the blues..don't know how you moms do it having your babes in the army..I go nuts if I don't hear from them for a few days..
Sure hope the job pans out..you know if they'd let you know one way or the other it wouldn't be so bad..it's the waiting thats hard.

Calling for rain all of this week, will do wonders for the gardens , should have planted all those seeds but still chance of frost..

Shirley, hoping today ISA better day for you and Tuuby!

Waving to all others and am looking forward to hearing all about your Easter weekend

Mary LOL on the Sanford & Son area. I call it "No Womans Land". Ric and our sons are such collectors but I must admit that junk comes in pretty handy from time to time. You should see me trying to crop his mess out of pics. of the Veggie Garden. At least it is all down by the barn the rest of the yard is pretty neat. He has really been cleaning up down there the last few months as he needed to remove the corral fence to built the GH and a lot of that stuff was piled along that fence. By the time we get done with the GH that adjacent area might look pretty good. (at least for a month or two) LOL
Betty the bunny is just painted with stains not glazed I have a boy bunny but it has been so very long that I don't know if I can quite match the soft color look. One of these days I might try to paint him.
Oh Dianne, Some people just don't have any sense at all. Really you just can't let dogs run loose unless they are very very well trained. What type of dog is Charlie?
Feeling better this morning still ran a temp last night but not as bad as the last couple of nights, slept a bit better but not good. Ric moved into another bed for a few nights. Said I just about beat him to death as I was so restless. LOL
Shirley hope your day went well and you house guests are gone.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Morning!

So enjoyed all the pictures. The bunny is darling Mary and glad DH showed back up. I think he likes you alot, that Easter bunny! LOL Glad you had a nice day.

Betty your art work is beautiful and also glad your Easter was good. Those were great pictures.

Dianne hope you get that hand looked after right away. There are millions of germs in a dogs mouth. I definitely report it. That's upsetting to think people do that and don't care.

Elf that fence will look great when you are done. I'm glad you found a simple solution to getting a fence. I'm sorry to see how they destroyed your pond area. Their day will come.

Okay, I have to tell you that yesterday was one of the worst I've had. The MIL decided to go to town and have dinner with all the siblings and that was fine. The oldest girl had said they would be here around 12 or 1 for lunch and hide Easter eggs. Well, this is how the scenario goes - The kids showed up at 2 and I was sitting at the table playing solitaire and I didn't get up, was telling the grandkids how cute they looked and was asking what they all got from the Easter bunny. The SIL's came in and sat at the table and I had to do the talking, they didn't seem to initiate any. I still didn't get up but the girls grabbed the eggs and were going to hide them. I asked the guys if they were going to help, they said that they didn't need to since the women didn't ask. I went down to go to the bathroom and on the way back stepped outside to talk to the girls a minute and said I was going back up to be by their Dad that I could send the guys out to help. When all the eggs were hidden they came in and got the guys and kids. They hunted while we were inside. They got done and I had laid their Dad down and was trying to sleep. Next thing I know they come in and got their stuff and the food they brought, I did ask the oldest girl if they were not staying to eat. She said no, they thought they should go. I went down stairs and stepped outside and said good bye to the youngest and she said Bye! and I asked if something was wrong, she said what do you think. I replied that I had no idea. She said they didn't feel welcomed and it wasn't the first time. The oldest did ask if she should wake her Dad, I said it was better to let him rest while he can. I just got this look from the two of them that wasn't pleasant and stepped back in the house and shut the door. No one said good bye except the oldest to me. I asked her if they wanted to take some of the potato salad and deviled eggs along, as it was too much for here. She said they would be back later in the week, why if they feel that way and now how do they expect me to treat them "with open arms". NOT! They brought a beautiful plant of tulips that I will be able to set out this fall once they dry back. I thanked them for that. The MIL didn't come back last night, but stayed in town. I'm sure she will be back today. One of his nephews stopped out later and then he stood there telling Tubby how terribly thin he was, he looked at me and I told him that isn't what he wants to hear, he already knows that. People! so I've told Tubby of what happened and he was surprised. I told him I was sorry if I did something to upset them and that I didn't want him mad at me for it as I'm puzzled. He said he's not. I'm just numb. I really don't want to answer the phone if they call, but if I don't be decent I'm afraid I will never get those pictures back that they took. I'm sure it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I truly don't trust them at all now. I have decided that I will not call them till after their Father has passed. I'm sorry to have to say that, and yes it is selfish of me. I have know idea what's ahead, but will try to make the best of it.

I'm sorry to put all this on you. I didn't know who else to talk to except my DD in Wis. I did do that last night, but I don't feel any better. I truly don't want to talk to any of them.

Well, so much for all that and I want to wish you all a great day and hope the sun is shining for all. We are to get rain today into tomorrow morning. To all those I forgot to mention SORRY. You are all in my thoughts all the time and wish you all the best and I know you have your own problems.

Linda Kay I am praying for you and the surgery goes well. I will be checking back in to see how you are doing.

BBL

Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Shirley, don't you be feeling badly..think sometimes people don't know how to react when a loved one is deathly ill..all on edge, not sure of what they should be feeling and of course if there has not been a relationship between them and you since you've been with Tubby then that makes it even more difficult..saying prayers for you sweetie..did Tubby notice this was going on..

LindaKay, hoping you are back from surgery and that you aren't in major pain..should have told them to check your fingers out at same time..I say this because when I had my kidney operation a few days after the nurses came to get me for back xrays..wondered why, when doctor finally dropped in to see me and I asked, he said while going under I kept asking them to check my back that I was in severe pain!!!

Was DG down for you all this morning?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Oh Shirley, Sounds like you had just gone farther than you could handle emotionally and physically. I wonder if their expectations are just too unrealistic for the situation. Not that you have done anything wrong just that they are expecting things to be different. Like Tubby would be up waiting and participating in all the Easter festivities, sitting outside watching the kids hunt for eggs. I think they may really be clueless and misguided. Hope things will settle down for you now and you can find a little piece in all this. Hope for a better day today.

Sorry to hear that Bev, starting this afternoon it will begin raining and will do so right up to the weekend...listening to the weather report says we'll not get nice weather until mid June..

If nothing else Bev your plants will we watered..not funny right?

When your are not able to get outside how do you fill in your time? you are probably getting getting the after effects of the tornado that hit St. Louis...

It is just like cabin fever. I will get over it. I have plenty to do in the house. It is just getting it done.
