Sewing away at placemats but thank you for the ideas..because I've been up so very early I'm leaving the pot holders until tomorrow morning..Lord hates a coward but want to make sure of what I'm doing before cutting!

Glad the hospital is nearby LindaKay..I'm sure when they send you home they'll want you in bed for a few days.

Almost done a quit block, just after posting this morning Patty a friend dropped in on the way to the cottage, then Cathy dropped in, then hair..picked up a nice B.B.Q. pork roast, cooking it for supper ..am sure by the time 6pm comes along I'll be dead to the world..lol

So much for my B.B.Q. roast, they arrived, I was downstairs doing everything but what I should be doing, they called to tell me I should be upstairs, something was burning and yep..there went my roast.

Ann thought she would have to bring Mike to hospital last nigh but he managed to make it through yet another nigh. They will hold their Easter dinner tomorrow just the 4 of them..hope he's feeling ok as this might be one of the last holidays they spend together

Well, I just mad his Mom upset with me. She was telling me that when the sis from Texas called last night she asked if he didn't need to be in the hospital. She told her he didn't want to go, I said it wasn't a case of not wanting to go. They wouldn't let him stay as he would be getting no fluids ans such and Medicare has certain rules. If he needs to go then we will go. So now she grabbed her phone and headed downstairs. Usually she gives a kiss, but that went bye bye. She is calling the rest to tell them she is upset and once again I'm the bad guy. Doesn't this sound like fun? NOT!

The girls came out for a while today. Tubby is in bed resting, but not sleeping yet so will see how the night goes.

You know, I'm sorry but my brain just isn't functioning right. I can't seem to concentrate on any one thing for long except him and how they are all driving me crazy. I check back in tomorrow.

Hey Deb... RE: insurance... we have never 'gotten' insurance on the kids. The insurance is on the vehicles, in our name, and with a policy with "Excluded Drivers = None". All three have gotten tickets in some way shape or fashion now... and yet we've never had to change our policy....Try to look into it and see if you can slide through the system as we have...I'm sure it's legal or would have been flagged the first time DS got a speeding ticket....

Earrings and medallion/neckace... Betty Hubby was impressed and he is the artist as you know... He says "You bought that ?" I say (with quite the superior air) "NO... it is a GIFT " Very beautiful... did I say that? Can't wait to wear the earrings to work... I only have 2 pair before that I wear to work and I know my co - workers will love these... I do as well..

Evening everyone! Well the 'orb' didn't last long today and it is now raining and the Weather Liars say it will for the next 2 days. UGH! My poor bulbs are swimming the earthis so wet.
(((Shirley))), I don't know how you do it. I would have bitten my tongue off by now and lots of blue words would be filling the air.When my DBIL was in his final weeks my MIL decided 'her baby' needed her and just moved in uninvited. My SIL who is a darling took it for about a week and then finally tols MIL "she and DB needed their space." All my MIL could do was huff "How did I get 2 such ungrateful, outspoken DILs" That gave us all a much needed laugh for sure. I know you must be on pins and needles all of the time and that is not good for you or Tubby. Wish I could wave a magic wand and make things better for you.
(((Ann and Mike))) Betty your Bass season opens up a full 2 months earlier than ours does, although pickerel opens up mid May. Sure hope Mike gets to sit in his boat 1 last time.
Loved the fabric you bought Betty, just love it! Years ago I designed a SG panel for a house that resembled the print - people had the space between their Kitchen and formal DR to pass food, dishes etc through but they wanted something to fill the hole when rest of the time.

Yes Dianne... I would think Louisiana would be the MOST Catholic state in the US... and yet... we did NOT get Good Friday off... However I do think every other business in Baton Rouge did... NO traffic going in and No one would meet with me today... so did not get anything accompllished....

Sure hope there are some dg nighthawks around, slept soundly for 2 hours and now I'm up trying to get this brain to slow down..it's blowing like crazy, raining and I'm sure colder than old heck!

Watched the Closer, had a hot bath, know for most it wakes them up but I'm hoping now that I've gotten myself settled again in bed just maybe I'll fall asleep, if not well guess I'll be up and at it.

Shirley, I'd be telling mamma that Tubby isn't resting comfortably with family/visitors in the house and that you/he are appreciative of the time spent but complete rest is needed now and who might you call to get her home so she can rest comfortably until the time comes that you will call her!

Dianne don't know if you need cedars but tomorrow, could be door opener for Home Depot they have 5' to 7' cedars for $15.99... I lost two from the front so if I can get to sleep and not end up sleeping in them I'll be there when they open!

Guess the hot bath dent work

Well, I've been up for awhile. Tubby is sleeping again. I finally gave him some Tylenol PM's last night and I believe he slept more than he has. He finally asked me to shave him today. He won't let me give him a bath or wash his hair. He doesn't like it and I'm not sure he could stand to sit in the wheelchair that long. His siblings are to come out today, so we'll see how that goes. I guess the girls and families will come for Easter. I will make a little potato salad and deviled eggs and they have to do the rest. I sent home what few plastic eggs I had for them to fill. I told them I didn't have the ham nor any candy to stuff any eggs. Tubby said to let them come if they were planning on it. Okay, I know he doesn't understand how tired I am and I won't hurt him by trying to explain it. We will make the best of the day.

Betty sorry to hear you are having a hard time sleeping, as that's not good. It's nice to hear you are going out for Easter dinner. I can smell the pies already. Have a great time.

Dianne I hope your weather straightens up soon and the sun comes out to stay. I know the DD in Wis. got 6" of snow earlier this week and had been raining and miserable there.

Shirley, Try to remember that his family does love him and only wants what "they" think is best. Not necessarily what you and Tubby want or think is best.They are upset and you unfortunately are the only target for them. They would probably have him in a hospital hooked up to every machine available and that is not what Tubby wants. You are such a strong loving woman and we are all here supporting you as best as we can. After Easter you should take Betty's advice and tell his Mom that Tubby and you need some quiet time to rest. That all the family visits are too tiring for Tubby and she should go home for a few days/weeks and you will call her.
I have been sick for the last few days. Nothing serious just chest congestion with fever and chills. Think I will try the Dr's office and see if they have hours today. I should have called yesterday but I was too sick to even get out of bed.

Hi y'all! got done with the conference yesterday afternoon and came home all pooped! It was mine and Dave's anniversary yesterday and...Happy Anniversary To MEEEEEE!!!!

Just got home from town, cedar trees packed in my vehicle, just pulled into drive and Kyle pulled in right behind me..even though it's raining Kyle helped me plant the trees..wonderful as they'll get a good soaking..

Weather network and Kyle seems to think sunshine starts at 10am just 1/2 hour from now, I'm not as optimistic as the sky is dark and raining!

Showed my baking dish LindaKay and Kyle knew exactly what happened..another of grandma' home cooked meals

Was feeling 90% well, guess moving quicker than body wants me too and have just a twinge of a headache so on the couch with Kyle teaching me more on the iPad...

Omg I couldn't believe how many people shopping at 6 in the morning and here I thought I was beefing the crowds.

Home depot opened their garden center this morning, must have had hundreds of cedars..already people were there with trucks loading up..felt sorry for the young staff , they were wearing gloves, had snowmobile outfits on and still chilled to the bones

Betty, glad you got your trees planted! Glad Kyle was there to help you. No, I did not know you could tap twice for a period! Thanks! Finger is still the same! As long as I keep it elevated it does not throb too bad! I am trying to get some window box planted filled with morning glories, so I cam place them in the front yard, to fill the fence line! So far I have 2 done, and about 5 more to go! Back does not like bending over, so I have to do a few at a time!

Don't overdo LindaKay or you'll pay for it in aches and pains. Love morning glories, plant them every year and they just don't grow..cathys dad has his entire garage side covered..stunning ..think he may have given me seeds..should check where I put my box, soon time to plant them in a helter skelter fashion

Kyle also downloaded the yellow pages..included in the download are all the stores, shopping,restaurants in that particular region..he just left, grandma's boy for sure....going to try this sleep thing, heas pounding, then regardless of how I feel just have to get those pot holders done!! Wish you were all closer, I'd put you to work helping me get them done. Lol

LOL Betty about going to HD early. I was at Foodland when it opened at 7am - needed cauliflower and it was an earlybird special. Think I will make aCauliflower salad - it is an Italian recipe and has sliced olives and onions in it. Yum! My first MIL who was more of a mom to me than my own mam used to make this recipe. Usually wait until warmer weather but since it doesn't seem to be coming I will go to it!
Hope you get your trees Betty. Me getting trees to plant would be like the old saying ' bringing coals to Newcastle'. Although I did plant 2 Burning bushes in one of the gardens.
Shirley all I can say if follow your gut instinct - you are a stong, intuitive woman who will make the right choice when necessary. When my dear sweet dad had lockjaw - way back in the early 50's my mam had the doc ban dad's mam and all of his sisters from visiting dad. This caused a rift that was never healed over even though my dad did survive that bout of illness.
Strange dog in the yard - I hate that people feel they can come to the 'country' either on a visit or to rent a cottage and they can let their dogs just run willy nilly.Gotta go!

I was to work just 5 hours yesterday, today and tomorrow morning early. Went to the Dr. he gave me a heavy duty antibiotic he always gives me when my chest gets full. I don't mess around anymore when it settles into my chest have had pneumonia a few times so I don't wait anymore for it to get a good hold in there. I will probably call off tomorrow as I have a note from the Doc. Then next week I am off Mon, Tues & Wed. That will give me plenty of time to recuperate.

Yes Betty the brakes on the small 4-wheeler are fixed, which is now Dave's 4-wheeler, we bought the big one, which is mine and the one I'll be riding, from a couple up the road who are moving to southern TX on the Mexican border into a gated senior community with separate houses that are all 2500 square feet, it's a 2000 Arctic Cat 500CC 4 wheel drive automatic (Dave says I can't drive the stick cause I don't know how LOL!) We paid $1,300 for it and it blue books for $3,000. Got it for a song and couldn't turn it down!

Betty I am not a dare devil, I'm afraid of heights, have no balance, and don't like things that go fast unless it's a car or something I am completely enclosed in and am too chicken to put myself into harms way. Dave's a complete other story though, he's like the 15 year old who doesn't have a care in the world! LOL

You get some rest there, I have the same problem with chest congestion and it's nothing to fool around with, glad your doc gave you a note!

Crissy, Have a great time out on your new ATV. Ric just picked up a little 150 Scooter to run around on. A lot different than the Antique Harley he was riding before our son was born. I was surprised when he sold it but he told me he wanted to live long enough to see his son gown.

Crissy we had atv's at the farm, over 80 acreas and large pond we could put paddle boat on..I'd ride it to and from, perhaps a bit when doing chores but that was the most I would ride..I'd stay in the golf cart..far safer...

Would have a fit when the grandchildren would come and take it out..lots of rock where we were and they'd do climbing..thus a lot of arguments re stepchildren 10 and 12 riding such powerful machines...guess that's why I'm not there anymore..couldn't live with what might happen...

Really should go out and at least work the one garden that is usually hard as rock while it's so damp..same garden I just put the trees in..lots to do, if you are like me you can think of a zillion things you could do but haven't got the time to do so or the energy.

As I look outside it looks so drab without leaves on the tree, hope the bud leaves will open shortly!

Remember I said i was done running, well Steve got home from work and asked me to go shopping with him! So i went and my job was to to push the cart, and tag team with him while he waited at the deli counter. We got home put all groceries away and then watched Survivor while we hate spagetti..(grr, can't spell today.) Then yesterday, was going to work on the buttoniers, but got caught up with the kids and making plans for Easter...I was alone from 3 to 8:30 last night, wanted to come chat but my computer is making funny noises, so shut it down for a rest, lol. Was extremely bored so, decided to dust! While I am doing that decided to thin things out, way to many photo's looks over crowded..Just about finished the gallery wall, when Steve got home, neither one of wanted to cook so we walked in the rain to TGF and had a nice dinner..Got back and the house was full of kids playing cards, lol so visited with them and to bed by 1:30..

Shirley, Wrapping my arms around you and Tubby, while praying for continued strength...Those IL"s sure are a pain in the behind. Not so sure I could put up with all that you are...Think you should lock yourself and Tubby in your room, with a note on door...Do NOT Disturb!!

Yesterday went to a massed church service with 4 combined choirs, etc. Had a re-enactment of the Crucifixion - I played one of the "women standing at the cross". Sunday we have a Sunrise service, then the regular one.

I have been MIA,,,,sigh... I have been busy cleanning out the side lot we bought for a garden and now will not use due to crappy nieghbors. I feel violated!! They past 3 days while I mowed, weed wacked, pulled up all the trash and cleaned up all the lumber, pipes, and just junk, they sat on thier porch and STARED at me. Ugggg. I really hate these people!! I knowe they think I was out there just to attack thier DARNED jasmine on the fence!! They are just awful!! I wish I had the money to put up a 8 ft tall privacy fence. I looked into it and it would cost me $2100.00!!!! I donot have that kind of money,, but am seriously thinking of selling all my stained glass ands tools just to block them from seeing my house and gardens!! I know this sounds silly, but you just have no idea of how awful they are. They sit on thier porch and call me filthy names, even told my DH that he is married to a harlot from H@$$, and once that crazy old man threatened to shoot me because I was trimming the plants on my side of the fence!!!

Sorry, I just had to vent. I really should not complain, there are others here who have many more problems than a couple of crazy nieghbors.. I have so much to be thankful for, so I must keep that in my head and forget them!!

Shirly, I agree with everyone else, You really should tell tubbys mom to go home, Tubby will need her much more in the near future and she will be too worn out to help then unless she gets some rest in her own bed. Do you have a minister or priest who would be willing to try to talk to his family. Or could you get his doctors to tell them that tubby needs complete rest now and to many people will just make him worse?? Seems there should be someone whao can help with that part. You are a much better person than me,, I would have kicked them all out by now and would not care what they said or did after that. If it was Ralph, they would not ruin my last days with him.

And Ralph agrees with me. He told me to ask you if you wanted him to come be the big bad guy for you!! He is appalled at the way you are being treated right now and told me after reading about everything that is going on with Tubbys family to not ever call his family if he gets sick,, just send them a short note after he is gone to let them know!! I was really shocked when he said that as he is alot like you, good hearted and trying to do the "RIGHT" thing!!!

AND he is serious about comming to the rescue!! He is such a cowboy...lol. Just imagine John Wayne comming to the rescue and you will have my Ralphie!!

Kris - hahahaha s'ok - I fell under the "everyone else" and I know that I do the same thing - want to mention everyone, and know I forget some. Especially as I haven't been on every day lately, so trying to catch up on 2 or 3 days worth of postings!!
