OK you guys.......... you are making me so jealous with all your pretty iris. I need to go see if my 'one' bud is anywhere close to blooming. ~sigh~ I want more pretty colors!

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Heck, the weeds just make us enjoy the beauty of the flowers that much more, don't they? ;-)

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Your iris patch is beyond beautiful Jan. Your new camera is working good I can see!! Wow - what a collection!

Al

I am going to thin them out as soon as they finish blooming so I can tag some to know what they are and gonna send you a few more different ones, Al. I pulled yours from the edges and you only got maybe 3-4 colors but I have lots of pretty colors when they open for me to see where they are. I still got light powder blue and light pink and bright clemson orange and Black game cock, and black after the storm, and a big yellow, yet to bloom. Plus all that Mitt sent me but those are not moving yet as they haven't multiplied yet.
Thank you everyone for the compliments, I love my Irises! THEN the Daylilies!!! Drooling now!

mekos my little log is makeing a arm when should i pot it up nettie

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

nettie, I hope you are hiding out from the storms. We didn't get a drop! Went right up I44

I would pot it now and keep it damp and warm. Does it have roots yet? OR is the arm you were talking about a root? I would think the arm is the leaf or limb coming out. IF you have roots plant it if NOT just leave it in water a while longer. It will be ok in water for a good while yet so don't worry about it. Just keep it warm.

Hope everyone has a blessed Easter! It's a lovely day out and I have weeds calling my name - lol. Oh, I noticed today a bud on one of my potted Brugs! I'm surprised I kept them alive yet alone have a bud;o) They are in 15 gal pots. It's either a NOID I got from Seray last year or it may be the Isabella I got from Mechelle. WIll have to dig in the pot and see if it has a tag. How long before it blooms mekos once that bud appears? I'm excited I may actually get a Brug to bloom! Unfortunately they will probably stay in pots. I don't have the patience to baby them through the summer heat and the winter cold...

Well if the bud has just started it will be a few more weeks. They grow slow when you want to see color. Go figure. Give it plenty of brug feed now and plenty of water and it will just set the most buds and be beautiful. Can't wait to see it. Mine are putting out but I did not dig them or bring inside for winter, they stay out and are slow starting out again. But I see green coming out so maybe not too much longer.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Weeks? Ugh! LOL! I've been feeding and watering so will keep it up. I have 3 that started from itty bitty cuttings. had a lot of cuttings at one time but these are the three survivors. I'll keep ya posted.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

I have my brug starts in 32 oz styrofoam cups. When I put them into a pot, how large (or small) should I start them out in? I have 21 that actually survived!!!! Lost about 5.
I have just been watering with 1/2 strength Miracle Grow until I pot them up. Is there something else that you use?

Booneville, AR
