Two generations ago, actress Veronica Lake set a style for long, draping hair styles and long bangs.
During World War II, this hairstyle caused problems with females entering the industrial workforce, and many accidents ensued. Laws were quickly put into place to prevent this.
"Rosie the Riveter" was then shown in famous posters, wearing a secure bandana to prevent injuries.

Interesting! Never heard that.
When you get to be an old *phurt*, you learn everything.
Tired? Need some sleep? Become an air traffic controller!
There's a film called "Pushing Tin"; those air traffic control guys seem to be living on caffeine and donuts, but maybe it's just a bad stereotype to sell movie tickets.
Remember Airplane?!!
I loved 'Pushing Tin", laughed my butt off, but not finding the real situation funny.
Apparently , some teachers need to learn about bullying.

Let's see if my neanderthal computer (non)abilities can make this link work:

edit: I mentioned a weeping cherry tree on a different thread; this isn't a terrific photo, but just imagine it lighted at night...from WITHIN...with a more dense head of "hair" (branches).

Very pretty tree!
Still scared of technology. I have to take 30 minutes to learn just one thing!
(Remember Frankenstein's Monster?..."Fire ---Bad !!!")
Where I was working in the garden today, I kept walking between the hyacinths and the pieris. The fragrance was heavenly.
Hyacinth fragrance is magical, right up there on top of the "fragrance list" with honeysuckle and lilac.
I agree!!!... and you can add lilies to that!!
What hyacinth is it that DOESN"T fizzle out after awhile?
I had 'Woodstock' and no more sign of it
I buy hyacinth "cheaters" at the supermarket when they're on sale, because I have such bad luck with them, and I don't like the disappointment factor.
I didn't know they fizzle out.. LOL
The ones on my south side against the garage have been there for years....guess they need a protected location.....not smelling anything lately, as the red maples are blossoming, & my allergies are horrible....can't stop sneezing.
I have very few hyacinths, a couple of plants came with the house and still come up every year, maybe 5 plants in total. I love the fragrance, I really need to get more, I'd like to have a small patch of them eventually.
just had to

Cute! i too like the chick :)

we have been setting up the squirrels by using the regular tube feeder.. we are going to put the motorized one out later on. maybe they will give our guests a show
I added more dollar store stuff.. and it was windier
