Taking a break?
C'mon' sit a spell and have some coffee, 'shoot the breeze awhile'... ☺

Shouldn't be long now before the temps warm up and make gardening and other outdoor activities a lot more pleasant.

How about tea? can't stand coffee. this winter we have been using hot chocolate.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I haven't been drinking too much coffee either, since around Christmas. I prefer hot chocolate too, usually make a cup of that Swiss Miss brand, Mmmm tastes so good...

For teas I like Lipton regular orange pekoe, or else I use Jasmine tea leaves in one of those little 'straining baskets'. Mint tea if my stomach is off track, although sometimes just for the flavor.. Chinese 'gunpowder', (nasty tasting green tea), if I want to be health conscious and take in anti-oxidants... (lol)

- but the hot chocolate is yummy so I like that best!
next time I have to get the one with little marshmallows in it.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I like to mix my afternoon coffee with half hot chocolate.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Coffee lover here!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I've never done that... sounds worth trying though!
I usually drink my coffee black but sometimes I use light cream in my coffee or Cremora, especially if I order it outside. My Dw puts cinnamon in it.

Using a coffee grinder Victor?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Coffee and hot chocolate together?! Sacrilege!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, WC. And special storage canisters for the beans.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Whoa... 'serious coffee dude'. (lol!)

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

mocha!
What kind of containers for the beans?
I just use a tin cookie canister.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Vacuum seal with a vent for the CO2 to escape. Kept on the counter. Did my research!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Was keeping the bag in the freezer. Big diff in freshness.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

What about the vented bags they come in, the vacuum make that much difference? I guess the bags are vacuum sealed in the beginning. Looks like I need to do some research.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I was surprised. If you use up the bag in about ten days, freezing is okay. I'll post the model I got.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I too have storage canisters for the beans, stainless steel and I keep the bags in freezer also :)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Gezz, I keep mine in the refrigerator - in a container, (I'm taking it out right now.. lol!!).

Can you believe there is an app now where you take a photo of your plate of food and the app tells you the calorie count!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

WOW....but I don't care how many calories it has! LOL

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Can't see how it can do that if it doesn't weigh the food!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The canister is the Friis coffee vault.

I guess the app can estimate size??

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Very cool canister! Overstock has a good deal on two.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I got two in a good deal from Amazon.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

thanks for the info Victor

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- Yes! Thanks!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No problem!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I'm a coffee lover too! My favorite is a double shot latte with cinnamon on top of the foam. mmmmm

Victor - that sounds like an interesting app! Do you know about fooducation? It's a neat app. You can scan any barcode and it will tell you some stuff about the product that isn't on the label - like the use of msg, which is much more prevalent than you might think.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I have seen that too. The one that really blows my mind is the one (actually a number of them now) that 'listens' to music - even your humming, and ID's the song! So cool. Theybare working on a real- time plant ID one. Can't wait!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I wish I could delete some apps from my phone!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

That's my fault on the thread mix up, sorry guys. I think everyone that wanted crocosmia Lucifer has contacted me, and if I missed anyone, please let me know.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Shame she has to do that for a living..

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I can hear it now - "I swear it was a mosquito, dear!!"

Thomaston, CT

Sounds fishy to me!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes it does.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Aids via mosquito would be the clincher.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)
