I was almost sure I just started a new thread...

Not sure what happened..

Let this new room be filled with sunshine and kindness as all the others have been!!!

We came from here:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1167727/

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Carpet laid, cupboard back in place. Will go down in a bit and put the stuff back on the shelves. I'll work on the bathroom next and when I can't do that I will work on taxes. Fun not! Tubby is watching TV.

Betty as I said there is no perfect health system. I know you are a big girl and will take care of yourself, we just worry. Please forgive us for getting bossy.

Kris that was a cute garden writing. I can see Betty in her gardening pjs. Wonder if her plants grow better when she wears them outside.LOL

Nothing new here. Chat later.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Time to rest Shirley, you've been going since early morning..no wonder Tubby is tired, can picture him in his chair, eyes/head following you here, there and everywhere..afternoon rest is indeed in order.

Knew that Darlene was gabbing with Ann, went to call Darlene and no answer, am soooo hoping that she is gone with Ann to make funeral arrangements for Mike..he can't be left alone, LeeAnn is with him so lets hope Ann didn't do the 'don't want to bother anyone' and let Darlene pick her up and take her out to get some things done...

You are all to kind for listening to my ramblings..

Going to do the unusual, lol, sit quietly for awhile..

Hope weather is co-operating in your neck of the woods and you've sunshine to brighten up you day!

Hello, Hello...
Found the new room, nice and cozy!

Big Arm Wraps (((((((((((Ann/Mike)))))))))) and ((((((((((Shirley & Tubby)))))))))).

Shirley, i feel your frustration at loosing posts! Yikes, i have been trying to make a post since last week.

LOL, My house is in complete dissray! Friday, I was trying to pack, had Brian and Steve working on the bathroom.
Plus, Our electrician was here, so he was helping him too. Plus had a bunch of bills and proposals to do, the day could not have been any crazier. Kids all packed, cleaned the kitchen and off we went by 2.
Wednesday decided it was time for the sock brigade...Started the sorting and finished matching on Thursday...Ackkk and still quite a few without mates. Any takers on a wild guess how many, ROFLOL, yep I counted! Whew, pretty soon no one will be wearing socks, thank goodness for sandals! Well, all the laundry was caught up, so worked outside...Clearing my potting patio, it has been a trocious, over taken by weeds, so Jake and I removed all the brick, stacked it on the side and I will be concentrating on re-leveling it...In the green house, i have cleared the ground and leveled it. I 'm getting ready to put a wooden floor deck in the center.

Diane, Betty...Jacob still had a cold over the weekend. He did pretty good, it was more annoying then anything. But he carried a box of cleanex, lol. Well He lost his first match, The giant kid, practically broke his arm!! Well he lost 3 out of 4 There were 8 in his weight category, 285 lbs. OH gosh again he was the smallest of all, But He did hold his own, came in 5th! He was a bit disappointed at first, but then he said he was happy he won 1, just because all of us came to see him. We are Proud of him any which way just for even making it to the Nationals, especially not giving up with a cold and a hurt shoulder...His last match, he wrestled the guy who took first in State...LOL, Jake fought hard, and the kid actually told him to just go down, Jake said no way! In the end, the other guy won in overtime, buy 1 point, LOL it was same at State, so that knocked Jake to 5th, the other guy took 3rd, I think...Was funny, 5 out of 8 kids in this weight were named Jake!!! So we cheered for him with his last name or nickname-Bud.
Steve and I walked 2 miles to the nearest Walgreen to get some Icy hot cream. it did help, so it was worth the walk. Plus the weather was fantastic. We had several hours, so we did a little site seeing....Can you believe, i have never been to Springfield..Illinois State Capitol!! We could only see the buildings, no time for tours. But wow, a nice old town with a lot of history. Some of the homes are outstanding...The little ones, lol, Breenie and Jake, brought their cameras and took a lot of photo's for school. They both take photography classes...We got back yesterday early evening, so enjoyed a nice fire, first one outside! Then it rained, or I should say Poured!! Chilly today, but I think it's going to warm up.

OK, before I loose this post, now the 4th time i am trying!
hitting send.

Glenview, IL

I really enjoyed your Trip to Niagra Falls, wonderful photos!! And I am glad you had a great time.

Lets see, Susan, Waiving hi to you. Did i read somewhere your hurt, goodness, I hope you heal up quick.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice to see you post...tell Jacob not to fret about not winning everything, it was an honor for him even to be competing...

You sure sound as though you are busy..again, need dates for your get-together, see a few have already booked vacation, if I soon don't I may not be able to make it!

Your yard sure will look pretty for the get together..just had a few winks, will try for a few more..lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh! I guess I should! I forgot! The lighting in here is yellowish because of the covers on the florescent bulbs have turned yellow over the years but here you go! I'll take a better one later in natural light, this light doesn't show it's real color, it's a lot darker than it shows here.

Wonderful cars! I love old cars........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love the old cars, especially the dragsters Linda Kay! The elcamino is something else, what color is Todd's and can he drive it or is it an ongoing project? Expensive hobby isn't it! Add in the fine music and what a weekend you've had! Is your cold gone? My db Bernie has an old truck he's done up, just love riding around in it....canary yellow chev I believe, done up in the gambler theme...

Mary, received 'seed folks' book this afternoon, bringing it to work tomorrow to read..anxious to do so!

Had my bath, meds and am in bed..embarrassed to say that Ann visited with Darlene this afternoon, dropped in i guess after Dar said i was fighting headache, decided she had a gel neck brace that she will bring to me in hopes it will help, told her my ailments were nothing and not to worry, darts and more darts, she 's more than she can handle without worrying tha I have a headache but Lord love her!

Gab later

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Those were nice pictures LindaKay. So glad you had a great time. You'll do it again right?

Crissy your hair looks great. Funny how a new do makes a person feel so different.

I'm gonna go change the laundry around and do a few more things before I go to bed. We hope you all have a wonderful evening and sweet dreams. It's suppose to be 70 here tomorrow, so will work outside when I get home from work in the AM. I'll pick up what I raked off the other day, but then will turn my attention towards cleaning the garden off. I need to till and move those potato beds over. I will have to pick up a burn permit one of these days. I don't think they open till 1pm so that means an extra trip into town. Will have to check in the morning for sure.

Take care.

Mary - your sending of sunshine musta worked, cuz the snow is mostly gone! We've gotten the most snowfall in a 24 hr period that it's a record apparently - 130 car accidents, too. 30cm of snow is quite a bit (can't remember the conversion to inches) but glad it's gone.

Baton Rouge, LA

Thank you Bev - Think they have passed through for now... some pretty nasty pics on TV... hope we don't get another wave because that was a LOT of rain....electricity is out in many areas... trees down...

Wow - Susan - That really worked :!!!! :o) We'll have to remember that next Spring !

LK the cars are awesome... the orange ones remind me of the "Cars" Disney cartoon. Hubby would love the El Camino. Love Stevie Ray Vaughn... .one of the greatest guitarists of all time....

BETTY !!! YAY! well it's such a short little book.... maybe something to fill the time in... but when you're done reading let me know.... ((HUGS)))

May pop in ... in a bit... need to stay away from teen girl drama going on "out there"

I finally had time to sit and read everything. Can't possibly comment on everything so I am just sending a few thoughts.
The kids in their prom clothes look so nice, what fun they must have had.
Goober is adorable.
Betty hope you get a diagnosis soon and are feeling better. Loved the pic from The Falls, it has been more than 35 years since I have been there. I should go back it is a beautiful sight to see.
Shirley, My heat goes out to you.
So, I like my job well enough but I do think I must have been nuts to start working now as we have had a few great days and I really just want to work in the garden. LOL
I was off Sat & Sun and it was nice enough for me to get the flats bench that Ric built for me wood stained. It is just wonderful. Today I worked till 2:00 so when I got home I tackled one of the flower beds that needed some serious clean up. I was out there a good 3 hours working near Ric while he was digging the water line to the GH.
Here is a pic of the flats bench.

Thumbnail by HollyAnnS
Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Here is another angle. It still gets a flat lattice top added sometime later. It is 8 1/2ft long will hold 15 flats and has enough space under it to store bales of pro mix and large pots. It sits in the driveway right next to the potting shed. I will say it is really nice. You should have seen the old saw horses and boards that I had been using. No more dragging them around and hoping that they didn't collapse.

Thumbnail by HollyAnnS
Baton Rouge, LA

Holly that is really nice... everything is so nice and neat in your pics ! Will you want to grow a vine over the lattice on the top ?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Best of my day...two things, work went by very fast today, and coming in here to see Y'all..

worst.....two things.......Owie knees and headaches...both suck :( hope every one gets feeling better fast

Shirley, I am in awe of you....big big hugs to you my dear for continued strength ....soft gentle hugs for tubby.....

only 35 days till my Kyle leaves for the Navy.....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Holly - that's a beautiful flats bench! I showed it to my DH (hint, hint) lol

awwwww 35 days, eh Thunder?!

My best - coming home to rest!
My worst - pain meds muddling my head, and getting so tired from using crutches! siiiiiiigh

Betty - you mentioned booking hospital beds...... have you heard anything about your results? I know you have an MRI booked in July, but hoped you might hear something else in the meantime....

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Morning All!

I've been up since about 3, couldn't sleep anymore. I laid in bed till I couldn't anymore. Tubby is still sleeping, but will get him up in an hour so I can go to work.I need to start the load of whites that have been soaking overnight. Oops, Tubby just woke up so will stop and gethim a pepsi.

Holly love the bench. If we were closer I give you a couple old windows to hang at the back and you could paint some flowers on the glass. It would be cool and then a piece of peg board in between to hang your tools on. You will definately enjoy it. Yes you do have lovely flower beds and such. It makes it nice to set back and enjoy the view.

Susan I hope you get to feeling better soon. Glad to see the snow melted, but that's alot of accidents. I hope no one seriously got hurt.

Thunder hope you get to feeling better soon also. It's hard to believe Kyle will be leaving that soon. Boy where does the time go. Enjoy your time together.

Sorry as I know I didn't mention everyone, but forgive me. I wish you all a good day and the sun shines for all. I'll check back in when I get home from work.

Shirley

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

G'mornin Y'all I have another early shift today so I am trying to wake up.

early in, means early out, so hopefully I won't be too tired to do some sewing this evening.
No Betty I did not get the pattern yet :( Shirley , I am feeling pretty good lately, I was referring to everyone else....I do have some (chronic) aches and pains, but I have learned to live with them, most of the time, they are not too bad....

Hope Y'all have a great day. and get to spend at least a little of it doing something you love.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks everyone, Well lets see no, I doubt I will grow vines on it. There is a very large quince right behind it. I had to trim it up even higher to put the bench there so I don't need anything behind it and the stone area where it is sitting is going to get bricked sometime later. You never know though maybe after it is in use I might change my mind and put a pot with some type of tropical vine.
Shirley, I do have a tool peg board in the potting shed right next to the bench. Love the idea of the painted windows I might give that some serious thought.
LOL on the "everything is so nice and neat" you haven't seen Ric's areas in front and behind the barn. LOL I am embarrassed to take pic of the Veggie Garden with all his stuff in the background. He has been cleaning up a lot down there lately. Well off to work for me this morning. It is overcast and rained last night not quite sure what they will have me doing this morning.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, yikes you guys are up early, much to read!!

Love the flat bench, omg you'll so enjoy using it this spring and as for the job, think paycheck, think $$$ and think spending some in the garden center...I think shirley's idea of old painted windows would just be so eye-catching..must tell you that at the craft show in Buffalo oner the weeked was a candle that was selling exactly that, done with glass paint medium, one long narrow oe would be perfect or buying lb glass and creating a design using glass gle and brooding it such as I do would work..

Laura, how's the little one and what was the weather like on your camping trip, did you take photo's...time for show and tell!

Debbie, haven't seen you about, are you ok? Worry about you

Oh lordy look at the time, must run but will gab with you when I get to the office

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Before I start catching up and looking at all the car pics, here's a much better picture of my hair.
