I was busy but not anymore! My desk is clear until Monday! WooHOOOOO!!

I read 6 posts, and barely remember the 2nd last, only the last one remains LOL
So, I guess we're all in the same "boat" Crissy!! LOL

Hey, I'm still around, just been busy trying to get a few things done. We didn't go into dialysis today. Tubby didn't want to go out into the weather. He has been sleeping most of the morning in the recliner. I noticed some hives on his neck, am thinking that other antibiotic is the culprit. I will take it away for a few days and see if it clears up and try again. If same thing happens then I know. He isn't complaining, but I don't want it to get any worse. This may be why he is sleeping alot and slept in so late. I was going to shave him this AM, but will wait now till the hives are gone so I don't make it worse. I will inform the Dr. on our next visit.

Susan that's alot of newsletters. Your church must be quite large. They are blessed to have you.

I will turn the vacum on later and finish that. I think I will go down and unroll those two pieces of carpet and work on getting them ready to lay down in the closet area. I didn't go out a shovel yet, as it is melting right now. The garbage man has been here as well the the postman so other then me there is nothing to shovel for. It's very unlikely that anyone will come.

Holly so enjoy the pictures of your flowers. It's nice knowing that someday there will be color around here.

Well I better stop sitting here and get busy as no one is going to come in and do it for me. Darn! I'm to picky anyways.

Shirley - No, our church isn't large - we deliver these newsletters to the community, trying to get more members. We only have, at most, 40 people that come to Sunday Service (and that includes the Pastor, choir, and Sunday School!!).
I think we've gotten people from the community to our Movie Night, and now and then we see a few new faces on Sunday, but it takes people time to acclimatize themselves to going to church again when they haven't been for awhile, I suppose.
We have a wonderful pastor, and the members are so loving and friendly. Hopefully we will get a larger group (and more donations!! The newsletter is one way for me to donate to the church).
Glad we're "here" for you, Shirley - I love to see you post, and hear what you're doing ^_^

Went to Dickenson tarp company..had a figure in my heard that what I was willing to spent for tarp upgrades and replacement was around the $600-$700 mark...we talked about putting a little awning, raising the back where you Kay your heD another 2 feet with a screen going across, at the end where you sit on the bed looking out he will put another large window, said it would cost about $800. - $1000 so I had to make up my mind what I wanted to do...went this far so might as well go all the way..will have the work done by may 1st providing I bring him the knit this weekend! The top will be off white instead of mustard yellow and a lighter waterproof fabric, he guarantees that....then I spoke about orderin something for a table and he said he would provide me with the metal tubing, also want a hook for lighting, guess if I hadn't kept saying, I want, I want, I want it would have been in budget...oh well, no one else to spoil but me right?

Hate to say this but head is pounding big time so off to get the rest of groceries outside and put my head down..not good!

Hey Susan, my hand is doing OK, as long as I hold it up. If I hang it down to my side, it thobs terrible. If it gets too bad, I take a vicadin.
I emailed Best Western, and 3 hours later they called me. The lady ask how I was feeling, and I told her I was sore with 2 borken fingers, she then said thanks for bringing the broken door to her attention, and she would get it fixed. Then she hung up. She never offered a refund or discount for anything!
Now keep in mind I was not looking for money, as my insurance covers all the medical bills, and I would have probably refused any free nights or anything. But the fact, she did not even offer anything was irritating. She was very short on the phone, like it was a bother for her to make the call in the first place.

LindaKay, did you tell someone at the hotel when it happened? Remember the bed frame that cut open mom's leg that time, at least management gave her 1 free night and rightly so...you should write the hotel chain executive, know you have insurance but if something became of your broken fingers?

That was through the corporate office, they just handed it down to the local place.
I did not say anything at the time, as I thought it was just smashed a bit. I had no clue they were broken, till I had the x-rays.

You would think they would have made an attempt to at least get your name and number so the could check on you!

Yes, LK - I realize you'd gotten a phone call from the lady who said she'd get the door fixed, but have you spoken to anyone from Corporate (further up the "ladder" from the lady you spoke to?)
That's what you need to do, and quit being a Shrinking Violet about it, m'dear! I know you're a gentle soul and think everyone should just understand what needs to be done, but frankly, companies look after themselves (usually) unless someone tells them that retribution needs to be done.
When I had a car accident that was Not my fault and the judge misheard the party at fault, that person stood up for ME and in the next court case the judge gave me 100% clearance. I stood up for myself in the first place, asking for a 2nd judgement. It's what you have to do, LK. It seems the 1st judge had just thought "oh, a woman driver" and put 100% my fault when it surely wasn't!!
Sometimes bad things happen to good people, and we want to help you by having you put on your "big girl pants" and speaking about this to BW Corporate.
(sorry to be such a nag, LK, but we all love you and know you need to have us help you).

LindaKay they are right. I know that it's not a thing most people like to do. They should make it right no matter weather you have insurance or not. That is why they have insurance is for those types of accidents and when it's their door that wasn't working right it makes it even more their responsiblity. I had a customer once who stumbled outside on the sidewalk and cut herself. Her daughter took her to get medical attention and I went in and called my ins. com.. The agent told me not to call or check on her for fear she would sue. I told him to go jump in a lake, that 's why I have ins. and it was her own fault not anything to do on my part or the property. I canceled that ins. co. as soon as I knew she was okay. I can't stand com. like that. The customer was so dear and so was her daughter, they would of never thought of suing anyone. The customer sais she tripped over her own foot. Okay enough of this story and do check into it further.

Kris that should give you quite a fer more lotus plants by the looks of all those tubulars. You'll have to take pictures when they start to show more. Hope you are getting some good rest today.

Betty I am so glad to hear you are seeing the Dr. Monday, but I do wish it was sooner. I hate hearing about those headaches as that can be the warning sign of so many things. We all worry about you. I did get Tubby to eat some soup as he wouldn't eat any breakfast and has slept most of the day. I asked him about his hives and he said it itched, but didn't want to take any Benadryl to help. I think he just gets tired of taking pills. I may try to talk him into it at bedtime. The sleepiness is probably part of the reaction also to the meds. The antifungal not antibiotic is the only new med. he is on. It's a fungal med. to keep away cold sores or shingles. They can be life threatening to him if he contacts either. He use to always get cold sores and his girls do alot, so I'm very careful about letting him around them when they have one.

Susan with time and the grace of God and his people your church will slowly grow. It's like all good things that are good, they take time to grow.

I haven't been over energetic today. I've worked on different stuff here and there. I'm hoping it will get better tomorrow when I get home. The mind says to do things and the body says oh what the heck. Body is winning. LOL The snow is just about gone. If it warms up any tomorrow it should all be gone. Chat latere.

Betty it was so lovely and thoughtful for your call. Tubby's face just lit right up when I told him who I had just talked to. Please do take care of yourself, for we worry about you just as much. I want to tell your what a dear dear friend you are to all of us here at DG and that we feel like God has sent us an angel to be with us at all times. I can't think of a better person to be that angel. WE LOVE YOU DEARLY!!! I know that everyone else feels the very same way. Thank You for being our friend!

Been busy today. Picked up prescriptions and b'd cards for April and May: spent money, Went to Post Office. Then to LQS (local quilt shop) to get replacement material for a piece I cut wrong. Spent more money. Went to Derry and spent the afternoon with old quilting buddy. Left her house and went to LQS in Derry; spent more money. Then got haircut: spent more money. Then came home and we bought supper out: spent more money. And I guess I shoul
d count the gas now for a 110 mile trip!!! But it was so much fun!!!
My eyes are driving me crazy tonight. I can't seem to focus. Letters are fuzzy. I know I've been sewing on a cross stitch project on very fine material.. I think they are just over tired. If not better by Monday I'll call Dr too!!!
Meant to add Thank You for all the kind words regarding my quilt. It is staying here with me for my bed. A friend offered me $500 for it but no way.....

hubby has "grounded" me Betty !! I can not do any work out in the yard :( way too much pollen out there :( had a nasty asthma attach a few days ago, so he said "NO MORE yard work!!!" until the pollen from the oak trees goes away..

Barb it is okay that you went and spent money and had a great time. We need to do those things once in awhile. You deserve it and just think of all the memories you've made. It was sure nice of your friend offering to buy it, but sometimes you just need to keep things for ones self. You take care and tell Norm hello.

LK - HOW totally romantic... the Texas Gruene Dance Hall... it truly is a small world...us mentioning it on here... and then Judy's friends son in a movie with John Travolta... now I'm trying to remember which one he had a son in...

Debbie - will you go to all 3 performances ? we got into that habit somehow and with the teenagers...every performance would be different somehow... even if the same... LOL

Judy - I love most his movies but just couldn't watch Face off... So excited about the wrestling nationals... how far will the travel be?

LK - I agree with Shirley and "easy for me to say" as I am often the shrinking violet she speaks of... but also, being in Marketing I know those folks want to know when they have a 'bad egg' of a manager and for her to not offer ANYthing to you is just bad marketing. Because I'm sure if they don't offer anything in sympathy you will think twice about stayingin a Best Western next time... and no business ever wants to lose a good customer...

Okay - LK is my neighbor so I couldn't let her have finger damage without company....

Almost lost the tip of my left thumb tonight. Let's just say it had something to do with Belle on a retractable leash... and a running Shadow the Cat right past her.

Urgent Care visit.....Keflex, Loritab (which I prob won't take) and a tetanus shot later... I will be okay... but what a crazy start to the weekend.

Hope I can still get some gardening done... albeit with gloves. Also have tickets to the LSU Spring Garden show this weekend.

Barb,sounds as though you had quite a day! Darts sounds similar to what mt eyes and head are doing...take everyones advice and get to the doctor on Monday..you have been working overtime lately and it might be the strain..don't blame you for keeping the quilt, although $500 is a lot of money it does't cover O1/3 of the work hours put into the quilt let alone the cost of quilting it...looks lovely right where it is, on your bed!

Thunder, glad the family put their foot down, asthma attacks can be dangerous besides know you always have lots of sewing just warping to fill your day!

Mary how is the thumb,ouch and more ouch,hope it's not a throbbing when you get p this morning and can't garden, wouldn't that be the pitzzzzz.

Groundhog day moral was that every day life problems continue to be the same, day after day, day after day until we make the choice to change things in our lives!

Coffee time, then I just might go downstairs and organize what I'd like to work on this weekend, can you believe it's been weeks since I've gone anything! Craft room has missed me!

I know it's cool outside, but most of the white stuff gone. I've got Tubby up and in recliner. I just have to make sure there is an extra pepsi at his feet in case he needs it before I get home from work. I'll go get ready shortly, first have a couple of cups of coffee.

With it starting up I dames back upstairs and am sitting watching t.v. Can't quite figure out the show....it's a dialog between Tommy lee and samual L Jackson ..movie called the sunset limited..

Lenny just dropped off 3 pais of track pants, won't take much longer than 1/2 hour to do them so off I go...that way he can pick them up on his way home from town

Good morning everyone...Thanks so much for the coffee. I, too, was up early and so was Norm so I spent a leisurely time with him. He is working today from 10-6 so I'll be doing the cleaning that I can do without him hovering. He tries so hard to make it so that I don't have to do much and I keep telling him to please let me do what I can. So now I just be good when he is here and then do what I can when he is gone. I need to work in spurts and rests and he is one to start and don't stop till the job is done. I think I make him a bit nervous with my breathing issues. But anyway - today I'm dusting cobwebs from corners and tops of windows and doors. You know, places he wouldn't think to look!!!! I may attempt some window washing too as that is another thing he doesn't think about. When he says it's getting brighter outside, I just chuckle to myself and say "yes, the days are not so dreary!"
Tomorrow, I am going to the LQS in the afternoon to watch a demo on hand quilting. I have arthritus in my hands and I have heard that the more active you keep the hands, the longer they will be usable. Going to check it out.
Mary, I'm so sorry to hear about your thumb. I sure do hope it heals quickly. And LK how are your fingers doing now?

Betty and everyone, you're not going to believe what I did yesterday afternoon, I sat and played with my new phone, I love this thing but need to figure out how to download apps and how to calculate data time so I don't get charged for going over, assuming that's how it works.

Betty I'm wondering if you need a chiropractor since the headache seems to be triggered from your neck. I have to go to the chiropractor now and then because of headaches that are caused by my neck.

I forgot about the movie chat, I love Phenomenon and I do remember the bunny scene. I like almost everything John Travolta has done, Face Off was excellent! Groundhog day was a cute movie but they show it too much and now I'm sick of it. I think Tom Hanks is the best actor out there and Tombstone is my favorite movie, I can watch that one over and over again, unlike Groundhog Day.

Funny, I got woke up at 5:30am by Dave breathing in some saliva and choking while he was sleeping in the recliner sofa, turns out there was a thunderstorm just to the north of us, checked radar on my new phone (wonderful as I can actually see it,) we got a little rain out of it, but the 1" size hail was pretty far north of us. It became 6am and I couldn't go back to sleep and was getting mad cause I want to sleep in on the weekends, but thought, "I bet Betty and a few others are on DG this morning, maybe I should go say hi." The next thing I knew it was 8:30, Dave was snoring beside me, and I had a massive backache, so I got up. Guess I missed the 6am boat! lol

Morning everyone, I have been busy potting up strawberry plants, dividing house plants. Ric and I spent some time this morning going over the plans for the new Greenhouse. We are getting a load of stone and framing wood this week and hopefully weather permitting we should pour the slab first week of April. Then all we need is a nice warm day to get it up. I am so excited.

Home from work, and it's snowing out there. It is to quit this afternoon, but get some more Monday nite into Tues. Oh darn, that means I won't be working outside for a while yet. It'll wait for me as no one is going to come in a do it. Still have plenty to do inside.

I'm making Tubby something to eat. I'll go finish up the vacuming and get that carpet down. I still have our taxes to do so better get at that so I can take them to Omaha to tax man the first nice day.

Holly that really gives ya something to look forward to. Will be so nice when done.
