LOL Susan... OR say "Hot Tub Included.... needs work done" LOL.... Geesh I'm a bad one !
Best/Worse/? Learn today - chatting with friends!
Betty - I have to say ... if I picked a vocation... it would be a writer... but I'd never be as good as Paul Fleischman... or to plan retirement trips like you did... I could do that... and the trips to Disney would be great..... LOL... but I DO love what I do... I love marketing... I just don't love my boss's boss... how she belittles one in a meeting....
Mornng all, as I a listen to the weather forecast I see the front is heading east..hope it skips your neck of the woods Dianne!
Got home last night right after work, didn't have supper and went right to bed so won't be able to complain I'm tired today!
Mary, think being a tour guide would be ideal, know it would have drawbacks I.e. Trying to make those in your group happy but normally when going on a vacation most are prepared to have a good time.
My jaunt with the girls isn't for 2 months and already have the trip planned by the milen sleep times, locations to visit ...a map all marked up on my desk. Lol. Always fun to do! Always looted working with seniors so maybe that would be a road to travel career wise...
No fun going to work when someone's mission is to make life difficult...some just need someone to flog being unhappy with their own life...smile and be gracious, maybe it's the knowing she's getting to you that encourages her to go on anjf walks in the park are always a good way to reduce stress level.
Thunder, sorry to hear about your computer..wonder what we'd do without them? Must take some of the strain off being able to speak and see your son...technology is grand. Enjoy your day of sewing..
Susan, think you are in the right track waiting at least until your probation period has ended. Likely not an issue but still worth considering.. Glad the flyer is almost ready for printing and no ore issues re editing!
Just looked around to see what needs being done before leaving for work, not a thin to be done except feed the furies..so might have time to put my feet up and relax for another hour!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! How about some scrambled eggs, bacon and toast! I'm taking my coffee to the back yard to watch the hummers for a bit. Wish you all could join me!
Betty, you have mail....
Thanks for the coffee Linda. I need some this morning. Sure wish I could join you there. It was 24* when I got up today!!!!
Sure wish I could send you some of my warm temps! it is 67 right now! Very nice!
Oh Linda, that sounds so good....on my way!
As much as I dislike snow, it is very pretty and almost peaceful out.
I got some sleep last night, but think I just passed out so tired!
Lots of cleaning to do today, houseful coming over tonight for Shanes birthday.
Have a great day.
Debbie
Hummers won't be here for a few more weeks.
Debbie, I love the snow but I am done with it for this year. Ready for sunshine and warm days. It is overcast here and I saw a few snow flurries swirl by earlier. I think today might be a quiet day. Been busy running a lot lately. Maybe I will get up to the plant room and do a bit of cleaning. Really need to get more seeds under the lights.
Morning!
Well it's 26* here this morning and may warm up to the mid 40's. Won't be playing outside today. They are still talking a chance of snow after midnight into Fri. morning. Hope they are wrong. One never knows at this time of year. We were in a tornado watch the other day. Work called early this AM to see if I could come in and help for a few hrs. but not possible today. I know they were getting alot of admits yesterday.
Tubby didn't like the potato soup last night as I cooked the onions in some of the bacon drippings. I'll send this home with my Mom today and make a new batch for him today. He can sure be picky sometimes. Normally I saute' the onions and celery in some butter, I just thought this would be easy and quick, what do I know. It won't take long to make a new batch.
Just wanted to say Hi and wish everyone a good day.
Linda Kay wish I could be there enjoying the coffee and nice weather with you. Just nice to know you are thinking of us all while you are sitting outside having coffee.
Debbie you take it easy getting ready for the big party, but do have a good time. I'm sure you all will.
Well I better get the dishes done and stuff up to do Mom's perm. Tubby isn't quite ready for breakfast yet so will wait with that. Check back in later today.
Shirley
Debbie, you are going nowhere until you wait for me to cross the border then off we go in search of sunshine...although that being said, it's sunshine out there this morning but bitter cold-14F but I'll settle for that until we meet at Joann's near my border cross over..drats, got to wait until Shane's party is over right? Tell him the very best on this his 18th birthday! Exciting age...
No hummers in my next of the woods..have to rethink where to put all those lovely hummer feeders not that I've closed in the back deck! Do have the Canada Geese honking like crazy and I think a woodpecker in the back bush..
Holly best you get doing what needs done because soon you'll not be a lady of leisure.
LindaKay, have you spoken with your dad the last few days, is he settling in ? You must be at a loss with all this extra time to come and go...will hubby be home to help you set up the sewing room?
Shirley, by end of day your mom will look so pretty with her new perm..not cheap getting perms at the hairdressers..I think $50. is cheap, that's what I pay, hear of many that are paying bit over $100. Wouldn't pay that much just to have curlies..
I have talked to Dad and he is doing pretty good! They have taken him to his new Dr, and they have all his scripts transferrred up there. Now they are working on his bank account and SS transfer. All paper work, that takes time to do!
I will try to get hubby help with the sewing room this week-end.
Betty it always amazed me at what people pay for different hairdressers. I knew of people who travel to Omaha to get their hair cut and pay 3x what I charged because they thought they were getting a better style. Usually they were getting a bad haircut. I'm sure my old customers had a real eye opener when I quit, because I know they had to pay alot more to go some place else. When I first started I made alot of tips, but once I owned the place some of them quit tipping because they thought I was making alot more money. Boy where they get these stupid ideas I have know idea. People tell themselves what they want to believe. Anyways it was a learning experience and one I'm not sorry for, as I enjoyed the majority of them. As I always say it takes the bad to appreciate the good in life. I really never thought of it as work because I enjoyed it so much. It's true that if you really like what you do you don't always think of it as work and don't mind spending the time it takes to do good.
Tubby has eaten breakfast so will finish up the dishes and get busy until Sis and Mom arrive.
Holly I know you'll be hearing from Lowes soon.
Chat later!
Good Morning!
Accckkkk...woke up to little bit of the white stuff. Cold outside for next couple of days so, I am going to work on a few projects inside.
Next week the kids are on Spring break. We are planning a trip to the Cottage. I have got to finish the 5 little panels of curtains for the kitchen...
Mary, so cute a name Rocky is, but Jake has been calling him Buster, Julia decided it was a Cute name for him...
It's my turn for the feedings, quite the chore, wake him up and he squiggles and balls himself up in refusal! So coax him along to take the bottle. He only takes a few drops, get over eager, then just to tired to suckle any more, Sigh, Betty you win he is in the house!! ( shhhh, on the sly from dad knowing.) But today he is going to be in the sun room where it is a tiny bit cooler, I figure he has to get acclimated to outside weather a little bit at a time...Watched him this morning and so cute, he was cold so pulled the little blankie over himself.
LOL, think maybe Ill piece a few scraps together to make him a little quilt, ROFLOL, now you know I have gone NUTS!! How many wild animals have a quilt to keep them warm? It would be hysterical if takes it with him.
Happy 18th Birthday Shane!!!
Debbie, wowsers, wish I would have thought of you when we were scrambling trying to figure out how to care for Buster!!
Thank God for the internet, so much great information...This weekend we are going to create an outside pen for him away from the house., it's going to include a hideaway shelter, so when the cat comes hunting he learns to run for shelter!
I have learned a Lot about aquirrels, very interesting!! LOL, Debbie, when you released your babies, did you ever see them again?
And now Betty, remember the pickle Jar squirrel feeder? I actually found the direction and it's going to be a project for us to do...
Crissy, LOL Haivng a garden and playing scarecrow is not fun...I am kind of surprised Dave isn't growing his veggies in a fenced area.
The pool area is going to be fenced in because i will start all the plants in green house and then transfer them outside...
Can't tell you how excited i am to be able to have a veggie garden! Mostly salads, radish, lettuce, carrots, peppers, peas, beans and cucumbers!! OH yummy, getting hungry just thinking about it. ..notice i didn't mention tomato's? Well maybe just one or 2 plantings, Sabrina and I are the only two that eat them.
Holly, how wonderful, about the job!! You did great with the walls, hope you get the ceiling done soon...Oh and I just love your mirrors and gecco's? Wall hangings, very nice.
Betty, why are you raising your head back to look out the bifocals? Ohh, yuck just hated getting used to the bi's.
Oh also, wanted to say, my GH wont be used for plants in winter at least not the first year. Electric bill is outrageous and i do not want to add to stress Steve out any further... but we will see how it goes.
Waiving Hi Thunder, awe, you will miss your family. I am glad you had a great time visiting...I hope you have great day off today!
Thanks for coffee Linda Kay, so nice to watch hummers with cup in hand. What to have coming up?
Ill be back, got to get something going here...
Enjoy the Morning, be back in a bit for a break.
Always tip my hairdresser well, always see her great me with a smile, maybe that's why! When I spent winters in Bonita Spring there was a woman who retired in the park and would do hair 3 or 4 days a week and had a great life..always thought I should go to school so I could do same..lol..too bad I hadve little learning retention.
LindaKay, will your dad now live there permanently or will he return come winter time? Does the change confuse him? Now don't you go try and move everything, just what you don't need is to put stress on those fingers.
When I left this morning I noticed there are piles of leaves and branches piled neatly on the lawn, guess that little elf Cathy has been cleaning up, bless her soul!
Sooo funny, just called Cathy's, told her I thought there was an earthly angel around my place this week, she said, no, wasn't her, must be all the squirrels putting everything they can in piles, shes such a brat! lol Had a big piece of stained glass that broke, asked me if I noticed it was no longer in the wheelbarrel, nope, she got rid of it as well..Lordy I'm blessed!
It would have to be a very small bunny to get through the fence around the garden, nothing has dug under it either.
Ha! I always had to room with Ms. Cheerful, and take her to where ever the conference was because no one else wanted to be around her. Not like I did but I didn't have a choice, and now I don't la la la lalaaaaaaaa They cut our budget so none of us are getting hotel rooms, we have to drive home then come back, but it's here in Little Rock so that's not that big a deal.
I got my new phone last night and I'm trying to get it up and running but it's saying "SIM not provisioned" whatever that means.
Have a great day with mom and sis Shirley! Sounds like mom is going to be getting some free food! LOL
Well I'm going to go see what's wrong with this stupid SIM card, if anything. It might be that the phone isn't activated yet, even though it should be!
Got a SIM card for my ipad Crissy re server I use..it's a tiny little square, thin as paper and about 1/2" x 1/2" it's what enable server to put their calls through..who are you with? I'm with rogers and have their sim card but when I cross the over to USA and travel I'll have to get an AOL SIM card.
Is that the vacation Crissy that you'll be on or is that your work convention..drats, not good on cutting the budget and your having to travel back and forth, but, with that new car of yours you'd probably enjoy tunes and a ride.
LOL Judy, I can just see that little squirrel quilt now. I was very pleased with the walls. Ric brought up an antique door he refinished for me and hung it the other day. It separates the mud/utility room from the the laundry area. Neither of these areas were ever finished as they were so far down on the todo list that they never did get done. A couple of years ago my washer bit the dust and that started the whole process. Moved everything out of the laundry room to get the washer out and then decided that it was a good time to finish the laundry room before we bought a new washer. Then we started on the mud/utility room. The ceiling and a false wall to hide the water tanks will go in this summer when we aren't using the woodstove for heat. Maybe a tile floor back there, too.
Judy, you are just too comical, imagine a squirrel with a blankie..only you (or Debbie) would think of doing that! lol
Trying to remember here which one of you gave me a large gallon jar so I could make it..thanks for reminding me...enough squirrels in my neighborhood that they'd surely like one to eat in..think I know exactly where that book is!
That cottage will look so pretty, new curtains and all..are you bringing your sewing machine with you or will you pre-make? Have you decided yet if you will rent the cottage this year..didn't you have a bad incident last year renting it out?
Judy not sure but I think these glasses need to be adjusted, bifocal in incorrect place..will go on my lunch hour..
I'm with AT&T and used to sell these phones when the SIM cards first came out. I called AT&T and they said they activated the new SIM card, so I transferred my whole address book to the phone, then switched out the SIM's. It's working fine now!
Judy (and Betty) The blanket is a GREAT idea. Why? Because those babies should have kind of been kept together for a bit longer. THey can't regulate their body temperature just yet...and the body warmth helped with that without Mama. Until that little guy is about 4 to 6 weeks old...he needs warmth and a little extra love inside. He is also "prey" to birds like owls and such out there right now.
Judy, I always fed my babies from a dropper and gave them goats milk slightly warmed when so tiny.
And YES, I did see my babies once they were released. We had "triplets" in FLorida. Curly, Larry & Moe....and when we first found them, we would make a little sound when we started feeding them. Sort of like you would call a cat or dog....and when they were released I would go in the back yard and make that sound.....and they would run down telephone poles or trees....leap across the yard. Climb on me, and get peanuts or a treat. I was about 13 then, and we moved when I was 14. They were still coming back....and family would follow...but only so far.
How sweet is that??? Sounds like you have your work cut out for you Judy.
OMG that's adorable Debbie..did you have them marked in anyway?
Nope, never marked them. They just "imprinted" on my Mom and I. Wouldn't come for anyone else calling them.
Amazing how humans and animals bond..I had a fox when I was young, probably about 8..when he started showing signs of being wild had to let him go..
Well, finally gave in, have an appt. for 4pm on Monday to see the doctor..figure going to bed just after 6am because the pain in the back of the neck and forehead is so bad, been dragging much too long, not good!
About time you made that appointment!
Just hate bothering him if it's something I can 'fix', don't be able to do so with these headaches..can't spend my life in bed right!
Tomorrow aft. at 4pm have an appt. with someone who does canvas work, have a few changes I want done on the trailer unit..going to get estimates, if too much then guess who will take it on...
Bessie Lou!!! Listen to you about the doctors. Perhaps I wouldn't be in the boat I am in now having to have surgery....if I had gone first hand! Now get to the doctors woman!
Hugs,
Debbie
Saw that you were a brave girl..lol..so made the appt. as well..how long do you have to wait before you get your results Debbie..
Glad you have finally gotten an appt Betty.
I'm glad too. Those headaches aren't normal.... Could be something very simple Betty.
Now you all they'll do is give me meds...
Kris, how are you doing, not working hard out in the yard now are you?
Barb, you never did show us a photo of the quilt you were binding..am anxious to see it..
Saturday morning I'm in a jewelery class, how to do a scratch art type of jewelery .. pine trees etc. and then plan on doing some sewing like the rest of you..I'm so behind
I'll try for a photo in the morning. I just finished the binding today and when I make the bed tomorrow I'll get a photo. This time of day the room is quite dark - not enough lighting for taking pictures.
Betty, Monday morning at 8:30 is my appt. unless his Asst. calls. But I don't think she will.
Bev, can they place stints in and open those blockages?
Beautiful blooms!
Ahhh Bev, that is nit good news! Is there anything you can do did he say thT would help somewhat? How about Scotty, how did he make out at the doctors....well, with cold weather ahead of you, get those jammies, put up your feet, pencil and paper in hand to see what feeds you can eat that might help, or will changing your diet help at this point?
Glad you are not overdoing it Kris...so many of us in the repurposing wish we lived closer so we could take home a car load of your treasures!
Debbie, 8:30 you say? Then by 10 am you'll have good news for us right?
Barb, tomorrow it is..sooo anxious to see it finished..
Laura, how about you, you were going to sew for a bit of relaxation, did you get to do so? Are you packing up tomorrow for the weekend ? Bet the children are asking the same thing..
Well, did my banking, went looking for a dresser for back bedroom, white, narrow with about 6 drawers..found exactly what I wanted although someone was asking her hubby if she could buy it, got tired of the bantering, didnt want to say I'll take it and start a war so tomorrow on my way home I'll go check to see if it's still there..
Pat and her hubby Don are suppose to drop in shortly, Pat had material left from her Spirit of the Woodlands quilt and thought I'd like to have what's left, some ready to create the blocks...I'm grateful as it's hard to get such fabric..I'll share some of my stash as well!
Off to put my head down until they get here!!
They won't do anything unless the blockages would be over 70 percent. The main artery right under that feeds all the blood to the heart is 70 percent. All the others are 30 and 40 but plaque could break loose and cause a clot so just trust in the good Lord to keep me going.
The doc told Scotty if he doesn't get the fluid off he will go back to the hospital and the nursing home and he told the doc that he wasn't going then when the nurse came in he asked her about the nursing home in the town where the doc is. I know Scotty is losing it a little more every day. He is to go for blood work next Wed.
